This video just popped up, and I watched it. Have been looking for paint ideas, and still think I'm going to just wrap ours in my shop. But that's not cast in concrete. The RV looks good. I'm remodeling and repowerig my Old 89 Fleetwood Limited. (FERD) I swapped out the tired and thirsty Ford EFI 460 engine and 3 speed transmission in 2000 to a Cummins Turbo Diesel. Just upgraded the transmission to a hopped up Allison 1000 5 speed and hot rodded the Cummins engine this month up to 400 HP. So with the rearend regeared I did a few years ago, I should see 14 MPG out of it now, because the engine won't have to work as hard as the old Ford. Building a new cold air system for it now! Coming along nicely considering there isn't a lot if rimm left in the doghouse for it. HA! I did the drive train repower because it only got 6 MPG with the Ford Gas motor, and with these latest mods I should see 13-14 with this new drivetrain. Like I said I'm an old Hot Rodder and this big bus has been my playtoy for decades... I ripped out my interior too and went to electric movie theater zero wall slides and a pop up big screen tv. Sadly my old girl doesn't have any slides. But, with the new interior it feels a lot bigger. I've been specing out the new solar system that will go on after I recoat the roof. Seriously looking at just painting it with flex seal. I've used it on the seams and am very happy with it. Best part is the wife and I are both retired and have a Ranch house in the Country with a big shop behind the house for me to play in. A Car Guys dream shop. Our life story would fill a book. But I agree with the cost of rebuilding vs buying a new one.... Especially if one is a gear head like me. Color me subscribed!
I have a 2000 Bounder 34D, and I love it! It is primarily factory inside. I've only made a few changes and that was to paint one of the bedroom walls a lite shade of warm sage green, put down new tile in the kitchen and bathroom and removed the wall paper borders and replaced them with ones that I like so much better. I polyurethaned all the woodwork. other than those things, I love it!
That’s awesome!! 😁😁 That year bounder is such a good and reliable motorhome. It’s good to hear from other’s that have good experiences with their older model bounders. It’s reassuring and believe it or not we haven’t heard from one person with bounder in our year range with a bad thing to say about it😁😁
Thanks for the video. I'm painting my class A this summer and I need ideas on how to put the strips on . the exterior. thanks. I have the primer on and ready to paint on the design strips.
Great job. I am looking at a used Thor ACE. All what I can afford 7 year old an it's looking like 20. I was thinking to paint it if we buy it. This is why I found your videos. Thanks for posting.
Your “do it yourself” paint job is amazing!!! Could you share the products used as I want to do mine myself. It’s probably about the same condition as your stated. What sand paper did you use, primer, paint, etc? Thanks!
Hello and thank you!! It’s quite a list to go through. We’ve posted it in the comments a few times but we do have an ebook on our website that explains the process in a bit more depth and we’ll be putting out some videos soon as well that show some of the steps. www.travelingsellvation.com Thanks again😁😁
no offense but if you don't have a basic idea of the tools and materials you'll need then you probably shouldn't just dive into a project like this but best of luck .
This really is spectacular great job. I just bought a 1996 National Tropi-cal we are gonna live in it for a while to save for land and to travel for a bit.

I came across your channel looking for information on how to paint RV stripes, I think your RV came out beautiful. I’m not going to go as far as you did. So far I’ve taken off all the decals that says winnebago adventurer and not replacing them, I’m just leaving the big W on the rear side’s. I’m just now starting to tape off the old stripes sanding and filling the cracks and primer. I went to the auto paint supply and picked out the color and had them mix it, I bought a spray gun from Harbor freight and all I’m waiting for now is some good weather so I can paint the stripes, and after the stripes dry, I will wax and polish the motorhome. I love it,!!! And the fact that you're just trying to be typical not trying to be out here be flashy and be the biggest star You take consideration us regular everyday life people❤❤❤
This is beautiful. I am beginning a rehab on a 96 Gulf Stream. The interior is the easy part for me but wasn't sure about the outside. Now I know. Hopefully we will meet on the road some day!
Im about to try renovating a TT it needs roof work then ill check for water damage . If i can get all that functional the inside i can update. But the outside needs a update and i have no ideas . You did a fantastic job on your reno. And that paint job. Wow

Well done to you guys. Awesome transformation on the Fleetwood Bounder. Great video too. We are from Great Britain and bought a 1997 Fleetwood Bounder in Black with Gold stripes, think it is original. Ours needs some work, but we love it! Chevrolet engine. American manufacturing on the RV/Coach is outstanding. Thanks for the video.
Holiday Ramblers are great motorhomes! It’s doable and if you don’t want to get as detailed with the stripes, it’s not that bad of a job. The prep and the stripes were a little tough.
Cudoos to you both! A great story and couple strength. Guys can do anything with the support of their spouses. The struggles of prepping the exterior, the vision of a work in progress. That’s how I like to work too. Create, improvise, and overcome obstacles, hard work! Thanks for the video of full body paint! -Jersey Mike, 39’ 5’er, F450
Hi I really like your video it's very informative I just bought a 2000 feet wood storm I been looking for videos of how to update it your paint job it's right on point 👍
Just subscribed and I'm considering a renovation to my 39' Class A, you are very talented, the renovation is inspiring. I did not see a booth, you removed the original, where do you eat?
Thank you. Go for it! The dinette took up too much space for what little functionality it offered us. We just hold our plates. Could have trays or tv trays if we needed.
was just wondering because we just replaced our decals with a similar to original except we left all the bounder and fleetwood stickers off and put other decals in there place. No where near as good as your work.
Wow, it is beautiful to look at! What was the name and brand of the creamy white paint you used to start off with. Thanks again for what you do to show us what can be done. Thanks for the video.
Hay yall, please do a video on the purchasing process on how you found it and what you paid for it and money you spent step by step. Love yalls videos.
There are two seals. The one that is actually on the slide is easy. The large one on the RV that sweeps the slide as it moves is a little more difficult. We’ve never changed one. RUclips should have some good videos though.
It would have been nice to see how you painted the coach - not just how you did the stripes. Did you spray the base color or did you roller it or ???? What materials were used on the base coat?
You guys did an amazing job! Do yall use a home frig or a RV frig. Mine went out and a lot of repair people talk away from reparing it. I love the fact I can go fully off grid and not need power. What are your thoughts? I'm going to grab your ebook, I have some serious roof leaks that need my attention. Keep up the great work.
Thank you!!😁😁 We still have the original gas electric frige. We have an interior renovation video as well. If our gas/electric frige went out, we would probably get a standard frige because of the high cost of a new one. We do enjoy having the off grid capabilities but a new side by side rv frige is insanely expensive.
was the bottom portion where the baggage doors are that were originally brown vinyl wrap or painted? I can see you painted them white, but I'm wondering what they were originally because my rv has a two tone situation going on and I think mine are just large vinyl wrapped pieces that I need to remove.
@@travelingsellvation yeah I determined yesterday that they are vinyl, now I need to figure out if I should just spray paint them and cover with clear coat or if vinyl wrapping is cheaper. probably painting.
I appreciate this video. Thanks for making it. I am about to start a full rebuild on a 27ft Southwind. You video is the first one that has inspired to film and record my effort. I am currently only $1000 in...I expect to spend 25-30k over 3 years building up what would cost my 80k+ to build knew. This is truly inspiring.

I love this video. I have a 1994 Fleetwood Flair that I’m going to remodel inside and out, just don’t know if I have the talent to redo the decals and striping. How can I get tips for repainting the decal logos. On the roof I will be putting a new EPDM? cover

Ok if your going to be at Quartzsite or any Meetup. You can do the inside of our RV. Lol. Lol. As we travel full-time we are going to be ripping out carpet and painting the cabinets and putting up wallpaper. I wanted to tell you that the faucet that you have in your bathroom. Is the same on we have in our House bathroom. Jim and me refuse to buy a brand new RV or any vehicle. Our 40ft Class A Sun Voyager is a 2007. Jim wants to put this coating on our roof that seals everything in. It's like putting a new rubber roof on. And it has a 50 year warranty. It's made for RVs. And Jim is installing a Solar System in ours. We want to put in a Mini split for our air conditioning and heating. And remove our roof top units. They are so noisy. But our problem is where to mount it and make sure that air is circulated evenly. We don't plan on paying for Campgrounds. We just want to boondock. I hope that one day we will meet up
Lol. Thank you. It’s be great to meet up one day. We’ll hopefully be heading west soon. We’ll probably do a video/review just on the roof coating. It is as new as the day we put it on. Very impressed!! You may could mount the split unit on the back.?.
wowww what a great job I'm thinking on painting my front cap on my mini lite and I to will be doing it outside PLEASE walk me through it. One other thing I would have done with yours is chrome out the mirrors 🙂
Thanks! We never thought about chroming the mirrors. Looking at a pic of it, it would look pretty good. They actually make a paint that looks just like chrome after it cures. We have an eBook that serves as sort of a guide that we’ll be putting out in a few weeks.
Wow you guys really did a great job i took my decals off and the Motorhome is a mess. I will try to paint it ,but what do you take the decal lines off with?
Love your video...we just bought a 1998 Fleetwood Bounder 34J...going to refurbish the total inside....where can we get carpet for the cockpit? Also, where did you buy your Bounder Decals for outside? Love the paint!!!
awesome job, I have the same yr an size coach and want to do an up grade as well.learned a few tips from the vid.did u have to replace the windows in the driving area mine are all fogged up..
@@travelingsellvation yes you're right plantar so bad you can barely see out the windows to see the mirror so I have to change mine new windows complete Freeman all run about 600 if you can find them the glasses alone is probably I think 3:50 and you do the labor
Hi you did a great job on your R V we have a Fleetwood Discovery and have been doing some work on it we are from the U K and come over 2 to 3 time a year and with the weather in Florida .how many coats of paint did you use?
The Discovery is a great motorhome! We honestly can’t remember. It was no more than enough to get it fully covered. 2 coats no more than 3. Then 1-2 coats of clear.
bbbbrrrrroooooooo.....you rocked it. and have way more patience I would ever have. my ADHD would have gone sideways real quick...but it looks amazing appreciate y'all
Hello there what is the name of the stuff you put on the top of your rig? I missed what you said and also you did an amazing job on your rv I meant the both of you lol
Wow, You did a beautiful job. We have a 1997 38’ Bounder that we have had for a couple years, the outside is in pretty nice shape, as was the interior, however we updated it pretty completely. We love the rig, also no payments. Next thing may be the exterior paint after seeing yours. Thank You for showing us.
Amazing job you did. I wanted to know a little more about it, did you use a spray gun or roller it on? I hav e an ambulance and want to paint it myself and wanted some more info on it. Thanks
I saw a fish with a bead of sweat.. had to subscribe for that one. Thinking about painting our 38’ gulfstream. Yours turned out great, what paint did you use?
And may I ask how did you cover the bounder name and rewrite the name ? Very nice wow but I just heard you got the decals ! I’m getting a bounder with 30k miles it’s a 94 but it doesn’t have a slide :-( but my hub doesn’t have legs so I’d love to do this ! Liked subscribed!
It was a basic single stage paint. I think it was Kirker. It was just an air sprayer. I don’t remember the brand gun but a job like this could be done with any medium to large compressor and a cheap spray gun from your local discount tool store ie harbor freight canadian tire etc.
I’m from Alabama and thriftiness is key when having nice things on a budget. I’m proud of y’all.

It looks killer!
wowww what a great job
I'm thinking on painting my front cap on my mini lite and I to will be doing it outside PLEASE walk me through it.
Wow nice job you guys.looks bad ass!!!! I know it’s a lot of work. I have been slowly doing my 2001 30’ class c
Thank you!!😁😁 Hang in there. Every little bit you do, is another step towards being done!
You guys ROCK it looks Amazing. Like a new RV 2021
Love your video...we just bought a 1998 Fleetwood Bounder 34J...going to refurbish the total inside....where can we get carpet for the cockpit? Also, where did you buy your Bounder Decals for outside? Love the paint!!!
Thank you!! We got both on ebay. The carpet is auto carpet (the higher grade) but we cut it using the pattern of the old carpet. The hump anyway😁
Wow! That is amazing! I love it! It really looks great! Nice job! 😀
Thank you! It was soooo hot lol 🥵
The exterior looks awesome! hope mine looks as good when I paint it this spring. Nearly finished with my interior renovation.

Hi thanks for that’s
Can you share the type of spray gun ? Thanks.
Can’t remember right off. We have an eBook on our website with all of the details including the gun. Thanks
How much white how much black paint did you use
Can’t remember exactly. Think it was a total of 5-6 gallons of paint split about evenly
LOOKS GREAT !!!
Thank you!!😁😁👋👋

Looks great y’all!
Thank you!!😁😁
Hello there what is the name of the stuff you put on the top of your rig? I missed what you said and also you did an amazing job on your rv I meant the both of you lol
It’s called Henry’s Tropicool. Henry’s makes multiple roof coatings so remember Tropicool. Can’t recommend it enough.
Great job!! My husband and I are about to start remodeling a motor home (Allegro Bay 36 ft.).
Thank you! That’s awesome!! The ideas are endless when you’re about to get started. Really exciting!!😁😁
Thank you! The Bounder is a great motorhome! No payments is the best part for sure lol!!
Guy amazing job congrats
Thank you!!😁😁
Amazing job you did. I wanted to know a little more about it, did you use a spray gun or roller it on? I hav e an ambulance and want to paint it myself and wanted some more info on it. Thanks
Hello. Thanks! We sprayed it. Always wanted to make over an ambulance.
What kind of spray gun, air operated or electric? No solar?
@tyemellwalker7415 we used an air gun
I saw a fish with a bead of sweat.. had to subscribe for that one. Thinking about painting our 38’ gulfstream. Yours turned out great, what paint did you use?
Either Eastwood or Kirker single stage. Can’t remember but they are essentially the same. May be the same company that makes them.
You did an amazing job!!! You guys rock 100%!!!
What paint did you use for the exterior?
Just a standard single stage
And may I ask how did you cover the bounder name and rewrite the name ? Very nice wow but I just heard you got the decals ! I’m getting a bounder with 30k miles it’s a 94 but it doesn’t have a slide :-( but my hub doesn’t have legs so I’d love to do this ! Liked subscribed!
We ordered the decals on ebay. People make them with vinyl machines. We have an eBook on our website as well but feel free to ask questions😁😁
Running through all your videos today. ;). Great concept.
Pawz & Effect Awesome! Thanks!!!😁
What type of paint did you use? What kind of sprayer?
It was a basic single stage paint. I think it was Kirker. It was just an air sprayer. I don’t remember the brand gun but a job like this could be done with any medium to large compressor and a cheap spray gun from your local discount tool store ie harbor freight canadian tire etc.
