You did an outstanding job of not only tranforming your coach to something really pretty, but having the tour that made it seem so simple to upgrade your rig. Thanks

Awesome! Let us know how it goes. We're here at a campground along the Mississippi and we've been stopped three times to compliment us on the look. Who knew! :)
I actually own an 08 Tour Master T40F ... had it 6 months and has been great so far, very solid older units! My clear is lifting a little on the black stripes in spots and the front cap has rock chips.. this is a project i will be fixing this winter! Lucky for me i do autobody for a living so i just have my time and very little cost in materials. but $16k is a GREAT deal on an entire refinish!
Thanks a lot for watching and no doubt, we loved it as well. But it was times like today when we were walking around our campground and I looked through the trees. So fresh for us! Thanks again.
Great information. Thank you for posting. I expected the price to be much higher. We won't need this service for a while, but it's good to know for the future.
Thanks for posting this! We have been talking with CDI since last year and seeing if we want to pull the trigger. We still have not seen a completed RV to evaluate the attention to detail on the paint. It would be nice to see yours in person.
Thank you so much! It looked pretty glossy but there was extensive fiberglass spider cracking through the gel coat....a problem in the early 2000s. The clearcoat was starting to lift on both sides too and it was accelerating! Right time, right place for us!!
It looks like they do a nice job. I started painting in the late 80's and have done show cars, race cars, and for about a year I painted multi-million dollar coaches for one of the premier coach builders in Oregon. It's a lot of work. Each coach had a custom graphics layout, but we didn't use stencils. We did everything freehand. A couple things I noticed in the video was, he never mentioned washing the coach when it first comes in and going over it with wax and grease remover. I would certainly hope that they do, because it is very critical to the longevity of the paint job. The other thing I heard him mention was "double clear". I'm assuming he was referring to having two coats of clear on it. I would hope that two coats of clear is standard, because one coat of clear is not enough protection and it will deteriorate sooner... Their pricing is good. It's a lot of labor hours and it takes a lot of paint, especially on a Class A coach, and paint has gotten very expensive. He didn't mention what brand of paint they use, but even the cheaper brands of paint are expensive. In the video it does look like they have good QC and that makes a lot of difference.
Thanks a lot for this - really educational. Not sure what they did beforehand but they definitely prepped the surface before priming. The entire coach had been sanded down. Yep, two coats of clear is standard and we might have opted for three but all good. For their paint, from what I understood, they have a sister company under the same ownership where they source the paint. This probably gives them a decents edge on costs. Overall, we're super happy with the work and quality. Their three year defect warranty is great. If you find something, they'll fix it. Thanks again for the comment and for watching.
Great point! Their fans and circulation was surprisingly strong so ventilation was fantastic, especially in that large striping bay where you saw the guy painting black.
First time viewer of your channel. I was VERY interested in this specific content. Looking to buy a coach in the near future and I always wondered about this option. I’m sure there are tons of older “crusty’s” out there that are still fine functioning units just need some lovin’ on the outside. This is great information and a source that I am going to save for the future as we scout. I’m so glad Jason was willing to share pricing up front because I’m certain I’m not the only one thinking about the feasibility of this. Great video. I’m sure CDI is going to get a BIG bump in business from this video. Looking for a future video to see how it holds up. Good luck!
Thanks for watching Greg and let us know if you have any other questions about this and owning an older coach. The transformation we experienced with this was mindblowing!
So of course we are full timers so first question is is there places to stay while our coach would be repainted. Next item is though I've replaced slide gaskets, do they install new gaskets or replace broken vendor items if necessary to give it a great new look? Thanks for the video.
Hi! We had to drop off the coach for approximately a month but they finished in three weeks. We headed to stay with family in Texas for the time it was being worked on. It might be an opportune time to take a vacation (I know - we live full-time right? :)) or get creative with a different way to travel. That said, we definitely missed home!! They did not remove our gaskets that we could see but they did paint the slide sides which was such a bonus so not sure how they did that. As far as other parts, you can definitely work with them to replace those accessories that just need replacing. Not sure if they can source those for you or you purchase and have them installed. What we loved was that they were super flexible and accommodating.
Ours is 43' and towards the end of the video, we asked CDI this. Essentially, the price is $16000 for Class As and $13-$14000 for Cs. If you have a custom design in mind or a lot of damage, they add an incremental charge but generally speaking, unless you have something big to fix, that's the price you pay. We were getting quotes for $35000 in AZ so this was huge. This honestly needs to get out there - that you can get a production quality paint job back at the plant and not at some shop that will charge you an arm and a leg! Hope this was useful and let us know if you have any other questions.
I think $16000 is the starting price for class A may be 37 38 feet . For longer RV will be more. If you got a 45 feet will be a lot more. Usually paint shop charge by foot and how many colors you want.
No, it's actually fixed for Class As at $16000 and that was our price. We did have them repair hail damage which added cost paid out by insurance but at 43' - it was still $16000. I know, hard to believe!
The base price is $16000 and that's the price you pay for a Class A unless you have extensive damage or other body work that needs doing. We came in with extensive hail damage on the passenger side so there was an added cost there to repair that was tacked on and insurance paid. Thanks for watching!
Let me guess, about $12,000 to $15,000, but we'll see. I wasn't too far off on my somewhat educated guess. I was impressed that they removed the stuff on top of the paint instead of taping it off like a lot of shops would do. Looks good guys. Keep the good stuff coming and if you get my way let me know.
We were getting quotes for $35000 in AZ and $9000 for just a partial black work in FL. Good guess though. De-parting was a great process and when they put it all back together, they did a great job sealing everything back up. Thanks David!
I think it definitely matters where you're at. I've heard of some people going down to Mexico and having a top notch job for like 10 or 12,000. So if you can be even reasonably close to that in the Midwest, that sounds like a great deal.
Thats nice quality job !!!! its so much easier to maintain with a good quality full body paint ill never go back to gel coat finish i had in prior Rv's I have 7/8 year old Jayco Melbourne Class C with Beutiful full body paint have only washed it since new never waxed until last week by hand Carnauba waxed looks like new
Have you ever tried Wash Wax All? It's a waterless wash and wax system that blew us away and what we use now to clean our coach. Spray on, wipe, and then flip the cloth and dry buff. Changed our paint maintenance life. Thanks for watching.
