- Traveling from Texas to the National HDT Rally in Hutchinson, Kansas is going to be a 2 day journey. What can happen overnight, you say?!? That's what we thought. Until we pulled in to the RV area at Riverwind Casino in Norman, Oklahoma.
Come along with us on this 2 day journey as we travel in our custom Spacecraft 5th wheel trail north. We're big but we are definitely an RV! The casino overnight parking area does not think so.

RV Camping
We like to "Switch it Up" between resorts and campgrounds and boondocking is always an option.
We draw inspiration from Keep Your Daydream KYD, Less Junk More Journey, Finding Our Someday and Changing Lanes. We normally travel in an HDT similar to RUclips channels Suite Travels, Switch it Up and Watts on Wheels. I also get some ideas from the editing style of Happily Ever Hanks @Happilyeverhanks #thankshanks and believe it or not, I actually learned something from MRBeast Mr Beast video's as well. We're not exactly taking Life in the Slow Lane but we do stop and smell the roses.
Our journey is the destination. We want to share our experiences of our discovery of What's Next.

Our Class C is built by Thor Motorcoach on a Ford F550 chassis. It's a production build Magnitude model XG32. We tow our red Jeep Wrangler Sahara behind it. We've made some modifications to it so that we can boondock comfortably. Lithium batteries, Victron 3000w multi-plus inverter, dual alternators charge while traveling and mods to the water system greatly enhance it's boondocking capabilities.
Our extreme completely custom 5th wheel is built on a semi-trailer chassis with air suspension and air brakes. Completely loaded it weighs 42,000 lbs rolling down the highway. And we do roll down the highway nearly every week. You see, we believe that if your home has wheels they should be used.

Did 30 years in a semi and don’t miss them.
I totally get that. But, they are comfortable, safe and very capable.
Another great journey. Watching scenery and getting some information from David about things in the area.
Make “no bones”’about it we are learning as well as enjoying the video.
😆 🤣 😂 that's the idea... learn while you enjoy the trip. Thanks
I always like the pictures at the end, enjoyed the journey.
Looks like you hit Dallas at just the right time. Most of the time the traffic sucks!
It can be bad in Big D. We were through there early afternoon on a Sunday. Got lucky.
My late husband and I were OTR O/O. We unloaded one time at Hutchinson Kansas. Without a load for the weekend. We deadheaded 700 miles to Menomonie Wisconsin our home base. Missing a 12" snow blizzard that Hutchinson Kansas received. We also had a Volvo semi but mid roof. New subscriber. Thank you for the video. Blessings to you.
When I see particular drone shots as you are on a highway, or in this case, as you arrive at the fairgrounds, is surprising. I have to wonder how hard this is to pull off(?). Nice presentation and editing.
BEAUTIFUL RIDE GREAT WEATHER !! DALLAS IS WHERE I WAS BORN NOW LIVE IN FL BE BLESSED STAY SAFE !! LOVE YOU GUYS 👊👊✊✊🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
That's awesome and thanks. Florida gets hot in the summer but very nice in the winter.
I have gone around Dallas on I 635 despite the extra miles to avoid malfunction junction downtown. The lack of traffic you experienced going through Dallas amazed me. And Atlanta, I haven't been downtown since 1992. Commercial trucks aren't allowed unless you have a pickup or delivery in town. The company I was driving for at the time, had a customer near the baseball stadium.
We were amazed at the lack of traffic going through Dallas. We've noticed that semi-trucks on 75 are allowed but not on 85 or 20. 285 can be rough through Hot-lanta. 😆
Hi. Love your videos. I have done some traveling in the past. I loved it. I used to own a trucking company. I had a Volvo tractor like yours. I loved it. It was like driving a big car. I can't travel anymore. I am disabled. So I watch your channel and live through you. So thanks, and keep up the good work.
Did you notice that the wheels that the blade was on followed in the tracks of the semi. We use them when hauling pipe for pipeline construction. They are called a steerable trailer. Hard to get used to. You drive the semi like there's no trailer behind you when turning.
Yes! We noticed all three axles were turning! So cool!
Really like your videos When i was younger I did a lot of RV traveling and motor cycle riding .Saw you cleaning your rigs wind shield and that remined me that several years ago I was at a camp ground and i was cleaning bugs off my rig. There was a older guy next to me and said he uses Lemon Pledge to clean his rig. I went over and his rig was spotless. So i bought a can and used it on the front of my rig and all i did was take a damp cloth and wipe to bugs off. Worked great and also did the wind shield. Have told several people about Pledge and they love it Plus it leaves a great shine. It works better after several applications. Safe travels
Nice. I'll have to look into that! Thanks
David you just crack me up with your jokes love it 🤣🤣🤣 Thank You for taking us along on your journey 🥰 Have a great time 😉
Glad you enjoyed it, Joyce. Thank you
My boyfriend was counting how many times David said good whole he was disconnecting everything. Lol. I was all excited about the bacon and cheese bread until you said you could hardly taste the bacon and cheese, but potato bread texture is ok too. The turbine blade was huge. I've never seen them being transported. It's all orchestrated very carefully. It only takes one bump and your entire explodes lol. We usually put the hangers in opposite directions so that doesn't happen. Enjoy the rest of your time at the rally!
Being from Oklahoma myself, I can see that it's much less frustrating watching a RUclips video of someone behind a windmill hauling truck than actually driving behind one.😂I'm going to be looking at the Riverwind Casino truck parking from now on to see if you guys are around.😄
What a FABULOUS video! Totally enjoyed this virtual trip with you guys and especially enjoyed watching you unhook and head out in the beginning of the video. It’s the simple stuff that’s so nice - the sights, the maneuvering, the corny jokes…. Wait, there were no stickers in this video. 😢 Anyways, have fun and be safe! 🤠❣️
Thanks for taking me along. Great to see the sights!
Glad nothing hit the fan! Lol
I love traveling with y'all, thank you!
Great country so huge 😄😄😄 entertaining video greetings from The Netherlands 👋 we follow ❤
Back in the 80s and 90s we'd stop in Corsicana in Dec on our way to watch the cuttting horse futurity in Ft Worth. The bakery was in town, you'd never get your rig down there, lol. They had steps going up to some windows where you could look down at all the people making the fruit cakes. It was impressive. Parking was tight too. I was glad when they moved out to the interstate. We live about an hour east of there.
Quite an operation they have and the fruit cakes are actually very tasty!
@@bigtruckbigtravels I'm not a fruit cake lover, but I have bought many, many other things there that are great. It takes us less than an hour to get there but don't go but once a year, can't afford to, weight wise. And we have to pass the Russel Stover store, I won't even look over at it, lol. I get on a chocolate high just walking in there, smells soooo good.
Just watched your latest episode and saw you came through Corsicana, TX 😊.
We live about 3 miles from the Bakery 🥮. Safe Travels and Love your adventures 🇺🇸.
Awesome! Thank you! That's close and a nice area. I was surprised the fruit cakes were as good as they were. Very tasty.
Collin street is really good. I'm good friends with the VP of Collins Street bakery out of Corsicana. Thomas is a really awesome person. I've been knowing him for 7 or 8 years. I'm glad yall made it up there safely. Yall are awesome
They make really good fruit cakes! We couldn't believe it. Yum! Thanks for watching
Fold. I had yellow bread once before. It was when I was on the USS Duluth responding to the USS Cole being attacked. Our ship ran out of flour for bread so they used pancake or corn meal mix. We didn’t care.
Thanks for sharing, good choice. Appreciate your service.
Thanks for having me along. You too are an amazing couple. God bless the both of you and be safe.
Thanks, Brad. We appreciate your time watching the channel. ☺️
There are some pretty cool videos showing them building the turbines
Oh I'll bet. It was cool seeing them transport it.
Those windmill parts are considered mega loads here in Idaho. They map their trips a year in advance. It was a big deal when they came up highway 12.
That was river wind casino in Norman. It's just a parking lot not an RV park. Ive never seen them allow anything over a 1ton truck and trailer.
They said they've been there multiple times in their rig. I'm surprised they never stayed in the truck parking area because it's pretty large. I drive by at least once a week and it's usually pretty empty. That's the best place to be if you're not into gambling.
I'm excited for your next video! I love the rallies! Have fun😜
I always enjoy your adventures! Thank you so much for recording your travels to share with us. It really means a lot to me to be able to see our country. Be safe! ❤
Glad you like them! We're excited to have you along on the journey with us. Thanks for watching
Looks like they have changed up a lot of stuff there in Norman Oklahoma at that casino. When we came back home from one of our vacations a couple years ago heading home to Louisiana we stopped there because the Walmart would not let us Park in their parking lot even though there was a lot of people Parked their. So we went over to the casino and we parked exactly in that same parking lot that you guys parked in the truck parking lot way far away from the other trucks we had a pop-up A-frame camper at the time. And we spent the night there. Think it all depends on who's working security because if I recall I don't think they would let us stay in the regular parking lot either they told us we had to park in the very back with the big trucks. But we parked away from the trucks but back then there wasn't very many there at the time.
This was our third time here. We usually parked in the RV lot. Security had zero issues. I'm thinking a big motorhome put the jacks down and put a hole in the pavement.
Awesome video, thanks 👍👍👍
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Very nice david & sandra
Thank you for watching.
@@bigtruckbigtravels & i new scaber too
Glad you had a good night - finally! The sandwiches looked really good, though I’m not a meat folder when I make them. Congrats on 60k subscribers- this is such a great channel. Used to often see those blades being transported in Kansas. Enjoy the rally - hope to meet up with you someday. Take care ❤
Very cool, those blades are massive on the road. It’s funny how small they look in the air.Great “Day on the life” video . Thanks
Thanks 👍you're correct, they are huge but look smaller up high.
Riverwind is just down the road from where I hang out winters. Have not stayed or actually visited the Casino. There also is another Casino in Tonkawa where I lived during Covid. I either buy fuel at it or the place you stopped at for lunch.
I live in Hertford NC and we have a lot of those blades on the road. We have a lot of the windmills here but we don’t benefit from them. Good to see you guys again. Safe travels. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
My feelings are hurt for you! I can’t believe that it has never happened to you before. Always an “adventure” with you two! So much fun to watch every Thursday. The baked goods looked good and made me want some. Enjoy and stay safe.
Big Love from Norway 💕🌹💕 Have fun there🌹🌹
Thank you. There were some amazing auroras last night up your way!
Great video. Interesting to see how the wind blades are transported.
It was geeky cool!
Thank you for sharing your journey to Kansas as always love your videos. Love from Melbourne Australia 🦘❤
You are so welcome! Glad you're along with us. Thanks
Thanks for sharing 😊😊😊
Thanks for watching 😊
Great adventure this week. David, it doesn’t matter how you make an image. What matters is that you caught that moment in time 🙂Keep shooting Sondra. Stay safe, stay well.
I hope you had a great time at your rally. That guard had a nerve telling you to go!! Blessings
19:50 Wow - this just brought up a childhood memory (late 60s/early 70s) of a cheese bread my mother brought home. IDK if it was from a trip, or somewhere local- but it was an unusual purchase. I can almost taste it! Thanks for that nearly 60 year old memory!
That was fun following the windmill. I feel you Sondra, only my clothes fall as well. I don't eat sandwiches, but hubby lays meat flat. Safe travels.
I love the way you organize stuff, you are truly an inspiration to all of us.
Norman Oklahoma that’s my old stomping ground. Went to the university there and lived outside OKC
Nice area. Thanks
My wife's sister lives in flower mound near Denton her youngest has a apartment in Dallas. Her oldest lives in Oklahoma city. They love to spend weekends at the casino near Norman. We get our school bus vans from Collins bus in Hutchinson also the Cosmosphere is there and the salt mines offer tours. .
Great work presenting during the HDT Rally. Really enjoyed each and every one. .
Great video
When you stayed at the riverwind casino parking lot you were 20 minutes from ours house. Shucks 😢
Oh wow! That's close! It was a quick stop!
Excellent Video
By the way our lunch meat is flat when eat sandwiches 🤙🤙
Thanks for Sharing your Journey
Nice. We like it folded but I get it.
That blade was cool any way you slice it ! ;). Words from a fan!
I love watching yall adventure especially when you’re in the DFW area and I’m sitting here in my smaller 24’ bumper pull rv trailer just riding along with yall
Hi guys!! How rude they put you with the truckers!! 😂 I always fold lunch meat on sandwiches. Hubby lays it flat, but always says my sandwiches taste better!! 🤣 Safe travels...💜
It depends mostly folded. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Made you move and they lost money and you saved. Enjoy the rally. We avoid tolls if we can too. It is cool seeing different things when you travel like the turbine blades. Seen a few during travels but not to a destination.
We just learned about the blue sign too.
So cool!
Welcome to Kansas!!!! I’m 89 miles east of Wichita ks. Have fun!!!! 🌻
Seeing that huge wind turbine blade reminded me of a photo I saw of a huge field that was covered in used blades. Apparently they are difficult to recycle, which defeats the purpose IMO. Oh by the way, I lay the ham flat on my sandwiches! lol - see you next week.
Yes, I've heard that the disposal issue is a problem. Thanks... and try folding next time! 😆
Let me just say I love the music that y’all use on your channel! Between the pictures and listening to y’all and listening to the music, it always makes my day!
Thank you. We enjoy the music as well. Glad you enjoyed it.
You guys have a very nice setup.
Thank you very much. It's not for everyone. We enjoy this lifestyle.
I enjoy watching your adventuring. I almost went with a spacecraftRV but we ended up buying a little place in the ozarks. I've never been happier. An RV life would have been awesome but for me this is better. I have chickens!
I like how Sondra's deliberations about parking were rudely interrupted by an imposing Russell Stover.😁
Chocolate makes everything better! 🤩
Most oversize loads are routed by each state. This comes in effect when you over height or over length. They send this so they miss constructions or bridges that they can clear. The size of a load depends on how and which road they can travel. Most of these types of loads can not travel Toll roads. I drop an oversized load it is a pain in the ***. How many back roads do they have you going. They also tell you how many escort cars you need and sometimes how many state troopers you have in certain areas
@@Tafs315 my hubby is a commercial trucker he said the same thing. 👍
Meat folded. 🤣🤣
Ok, that's interesting. Thank you 😊
Love it, fold away! Thanks
FLAT lunch meat!🤠❤️
What a great travel day. Love your videos y’all have fun at the rally. Can’t wait for what’s next. Gig em
Definatly would be considered a semi truck in Australia. Never ever seen a rig your size over here. Only commercial.
Also our shopping centres tend to be much much smaller yes even though we have the room. And multi-storey and they do not have the height. Also outside parking we would be stuck too as a lot of our carparks have sail shades to protect cars from the hot sun( live in the sunshine state) Large distribution stores don't have the huge size parking lots. If they do have them they are not as big.
Happy travels guys. Stay safe out there. ❤❤❤.
Wow! That is very different, down under. We could not bring our rig to Australia, we'd go with a caravan for the outback. Thanks, that is very interesting.
I enjoyed your video as always. Thank you for sharing your travels with all of us. I keep hoping that one of these years my wife and I can be able to get a truck to pull our travel trailer and do some traveling throughout the United States. Obviously we wouldn't need a HDT truck, just a 2500 or F250. We just have a 25ft travel trailer, which weighs a lot less than your 5th wheel.
25:18 He's going that way because of the ORANGE detour i-35 signs you see on the side there, the state has routed him that way because of the construction on i-35
Thank you. Lots of construction around Dallas.
Awww, man! I wish we would have known yall were in our neck of the woods!!! Russell Stover is often! I personally love their ice cream!!!
LOVE THE MUSIC 👍👍
Woohoo! Thank you!
Congratulations on 60,000 sub's.
Thank you so much 😀
Hello Ms. Ruth!💙🤍❤️👍🏾
Ms. Ruth is the sweetest! 🥰
Seen one of them near wilmington nc today it was fun waiting in traffic
There’s a plethora of wind farms in western and NW Oklahoma. I see you’re in Kansas. Guess they’re spreading there, too.
Love watching you guys. Can’t wait till June to meet you guys.
I saw where your clothes came out of the closet. Have you tried putting your hangers in from the back? If you go underneath the rod and bring the hook up from back to front, they won't come off traveling. Crazy, but it works. You don't have to ask me how I know love you guys sooo much!
I think I saw you guys arriving at the rally on another HDT RUclipsrs video a couple days ago 👍
Your clean windshield has a big bug in the middle of my
side of the window!!
I'm a flat lunch meat guy but if it hangs over too far I'll fold the edges!
😆 I can see that. Folded makes it seem fluffier.
Great channel we have enjoyed . The background music on this video has been annoying though. Maybe because of my hearing impairment , Idk
Oh...I liked the music. Hope you enjoyed it despite the background "noise". Thanks 😊
As far as sandwich etiquette, I guess it's a "what type of sandwich" situation it is to either fold the meat/cheese or lay it flat. I'm guilty of either fashion in my years. It all goes down the same way. Enjoyed the journey as usual. Now it looks like time for you to enjoy your HDT Rally!
Just noticed, looks like your bikes are obstructing your tail lights on the trailer, I know if they are you actually can be stopped by the police for that as well as if your license plate is obstructed as well,
Just an observation
I noticed that too.
Thank you.
You guy pass my road to my house they are putting up wind tunnels up in Wellington i live next to them I set on my back porch and see them ...thanks for taken my long you was in my neck of woods
Oh wow! Very cool. They are assembling quite a wind farm out there.
@@BarbaraStegen I was thinking they passed close to me too, although I live in Ark City. They keep coming close and I never get to see them in person. Will be in Hutch, maybe I can see them there!
I LOVE FRUITCAKE. I MAKE A WHITE FRUIT CAKE SOAKED IN PEACH BRANDY A MONTH BEFORE CHRISTMAS. YUMMY
Dallas reminds me of the Flintstones.
Huh?!?
18:30, the reason they tossed you in the truck lot is because other Semi tractor/trailers will park there too. They’re trying to avoid having a lot full of Semi trucks. Hurts doesn’t it? 😠😢
Great set-up. I'm curious though, why the large car sleeper when you have the trailer?
We like the dinette setup and we use it as a camper sometimes so the extra room is nice plus it's taller for us.
Love your Crater Lake t shirt!
It depends on the size of the bread to the size of the cold cuts we are using
If the lunchmeat is already folded, I leave it that way, if it's flat, it goes on flat. I suspect I use more when it's flat. 😄
I lay the ham down flat and only have 2 slice ham.
Oh my! Folding makes it fluffier! Try it next time. 😆
Great video 👏🏻👏🏻❤️
Glad you liked it!! Really appreciate your time watching the channel. ☺️
You should have talked to the management about the parking, when there are issues with people and policies, go to the top of the chain!
We thought about it but we wanted to get settled and dinner. They said that the pavement had gotten messed up from other large RV's. I'm thinking they put stabilizer jacks down into the pavement. Grrrr...
@@bigtruckbigtravels Thanks for more detail on your decision.
I have been fulltime RV for two years I've never found a spot where I didnt have cellphone internet (sometimes with a booster) whats the point of starklink really, its not like that huge mess youre driving could go anywhere remote. That setup is insane but what a giant headache to move around even if I had a big family I could never. good luck to you with that tho lol
😆 🤣 that's too funny. We need Starlink because 50% of the time, we're remote and no cell. Check this video out. We are not city dwellers my friend.
ruclips.net/video/Vum6kD8RxO4/видео.html
For the life of me I can't imagine why you chose this set up. It's hard enough just to find a place to put up a tent some days. Carry on.
It's our home. We like being comfy and over 9 years on the road, we don't stay anywhere over several weeks. Lots of places we have found. It does take research.
Isn’t it genius. So cool to watch these two living their dream! ❣️
Kicked out & turbine stalking … what’s happening? 😅 great video
Say if you are on your own, I assume you have magnetic mounts, could you put the camera back behind the pin, and then observe from the cab, the turntable lining up when reversing?
It's possible for part of the travel but the trailer is positioned so that the camera would have to be above the leading edge. It would be temporary so possibly with a wifi or Bluetooth camera.
damn wish i knew you were coming through Kansas. I would have pulled you over just to say hi, LOL
Lunchmeat: Folds >> flats.
