I'm going to miss the nomadic fanatic signs but I think you're making the wise safer choice. And you can probably get a little more peace now and be safer at the same time.
Although it isn't an automotive paint, when applied to a smooth, clean surface, Behr should hold up quite nicely. Top of the line exterior house paints have come a long way in the past decade or so. I have been surprised at how well the latex / acrylic has held up on the exterior of my house. I painted it five years ago, and it looks like I did it last week.
I just stripped all the Zep floor polish off my 36-foot fifth wheel. I use their floor stripper it works really good tedious but works good. After I rub all the fiberglass out with a buffer I will reseal it with Zep wet-look floor polish again it always looks so good.
I was nervous when you were rolling that black paint, (remembering my own painting mistakes):) But wow Eric that turned out Beautiful! You have guts and talent.
I am thinking this RV will be sold within the next 6 months. The new paint scheme does look very good. If the exhaust leak does get fixed and the slide then it would be easier to sell the RV. Good luck on your future plans.
you are right, eric. the manifold does need to be ground flush by a machine shop. didn't want to be one of those people you mentioned telling you what to do, so i kept it to myself, but now that i know i get a cookie, i said something. (is there a muffin option?)
Just had my manifold on my class a replaced. 2500.00 Can. Labor. And they didn't overcharge me like CRVL. Lol. But I'm one of those dreaded men! So we get the secret Man discount. LOL!
A couple who live just down the street from us own two travel trailers (a 27 foot fifth wheeler and what may be the largest popup made) and a Class A very, very similar to yours, purchased used from a certain well known chain RV sales company you may know something about. The two trailers were purchased for short term (weekend and month longish stays in state and privately owned/chain campgrounds) and have presented their owners with no major problems while the Class A was purchased for long distance ( think cross country) touring and camping. The Class A has spent a LOT of time in three different RV repair shops, including two long stays in the dealers shop, due to failures related to the slide outs, generator related electrical problems, brakes, steps, mystery leaks, fuel feed problems, and a number of lesser but still often expensive problems that the dealership SHOULD have repaired and/or made our neighbors aware of prior to purchase. The third RV repair shop, in the Myrtle Beach, SC area apparently sorted out and repaired all the mechanical, electrical, and leak problems and our neighbors are planning a long trip in a few weeks. What made this video especially interesting to me was that you (ah the benefits of relative youth) decided to go the do it yourself route by changing up the color scheme of your RV at about the same time our neighbors had a local shop do almost the same change to their Class A.....And it it only took four young men five cloudless, warm days and a couple of grand to get the job done "right" at the shop they work for.
Looks good to me. I remember watching a video from RVLove.com two years ago and they were removing any branding on their Allegro coach on the recommendation of their insurance agent saying a claim could be denied because it’s being used in a business. Food for thought if anyone is considering advertising their you tube channel etc on their rig.
Hey dude, in the video on your left eye (right eye in video) , it appears you may have another stye. I get these often, just a concerned fan. Stay well.
Eric the engine where the exhaust header connects is warped. Seems common for ford v10. Only real way to fix is to remove it and have machine shop resurface the head. A grinding wheel or sand paper might work. But more the likely you need a machine shop.
It looks GREAT!!!! The colors give it a fresh, new, upgrade!! Great choice! We have removed most of our decals, painted our door and service bay doors fun colors and now I just want to add some "shutters"!! Don't know if your paint will work on aluminum? Need to check into that. Thanks!! Stay warm!!!
Nice job! The thing that impressed me the most is the taping! The planning and precision on getting all those stripes in exactly their right place is just mind boggling!! Looks great! Makes me want to take on some projects on my own RV
Now I'm wondering how the signage people managed to remove the factory decals to make room for the Nomadic Fanatic logo. I bet they had some easy method.
Some moons ago, we did over 4,000 AT&T decal removals and installed Comcast. Long story short, we used heat from the flame of a weed burner and propane to heat up the logo, then used scrapers to peel off the old logos then used Acetone to remove the rest of glue residue. One guy did set a small fire but we got it out and all was good. I don't know what they do or use now. It was easy and we made some bank!
I want to repaint my old camper.. 1980s lil toter.. just not sure of the paint to use though..Paint and Primer.. went back and watched it again.. alrighty then.. think I'll wait til after camping season to paint!!
You seem like a really fun person Eric! Our family really enjoys watching your adventures. I like it that even if it looks like you're complaining about something, or some stuff is annoying to you, ya let us know about it in a positive way. Don't be fooled by the jealous haters. You rock! And..( They wouldn't like this, it's delicious.)
I saw pink on the thumbnail and thought you had finally come out. 🤣 Seriously though, it looks better than I thought it would. I am glad it wasn't pink.
Looks great Eric!! And it's confirmed.... Jax has a friend! 😻😻 This time in front window on the dashboard! The jig is up Eric.... Spill the beans on the new kitty! 😺
I was so glad to find your video since most of the utubes i watched only showed the spray on method of repainting old faded graphics. I had planned to roll and probably tip the paint on my old faded fifth wheel graphics with rustoleum protective enamel...but I have only painted fiberglass boats that we previously owned, so I wasn't sure about RV graphics. Your video was just the encouragement that I needed. Will begin the process tomorrow.
Rust oleum, no runs, no drips, no errors. I like the work you did. Practical, flexible, and adaptable for your own circumstances and experience. Things go wrong no matter what so do your darnedest and hope for the bestest.
I sanded off my old cracked decals and painted over them with One Shot sign painters enamel. We used poli glow to add the seal and shine factor. Almost 3 years ago, and it looks great.
Dude, it looks badass! When our decals fade I'm absolutely doing this! Thanks Eric! I wish I could understand why RV manufacturers are inspired by non-sense graphics, just silly stuff.
Hope you share what wax product you use. I’ve been considering buying Aerospace 303 Marine UV Protectant for my older unit. It’s available on Amazon and just wondering if anyone’s used it? 🤷🏻♀️
Some of my decals are fractured pretty good I'm assuming I need to try to get them down smooth as possible with the scotch right and hopefully that satin finish will cover that pretty well thanks again
You really need to stop being so negative Eric. We don’t care. As for painting the RV, I would’ve found a indoor paint booth you could rent and do it that way as it will avoid any kind of problems out in the weather. Safe travels my friend.
Eric, you need to remove the Coachman with the dog logo and replace it with JAXMAN and his image. Another great video!
That’s a great idea!!
@Peter Peter Source or GTFO
Easter egg 💡 idea - remove or paint over the dog, on your Coachman logos, and have jax drawn in there instead!
I agree. Especially given the bad experience with Coachman you are having.
I love that idea
Jax leaping over a "Jaxman" script would be awesome
I'm going to miss the nomadic fanatic signs but I think you're making the wise safer choice. And you can probably get a little more peace now and be safer at the same time.
This is the way We met at thousand trails
Ok. This video has actually inspired me to redo the original Red Stripe on my vintage trailer. 😺🙂

Eric ~ Don't take criticism from people you wouldn't take advice from.
Nailed it.
It really only matters if your happy with it! Looks good to me and you can't see it from my house.....
I just stripped all the Zep floor polish off my 36-foot fifth wheel. I use their floor stripper it works really good tedious but works good. After I rub all the fiberglass out with a buffer I will reseal it with Zep wet-look floor polish again it always looks so good.
I don't know if it's me or my eyes but your rig looks longer and wider then it did before with those new stripes it looks good👏👏👍
Agreed 👍
Faux tromp
Looks great, but Id wait a month before waxing to give the paint a chance to fully cure since Im pretty sure that was a water based paint 🤙🏼
Replace the Coachman Dog with a Cat .
Hi from UK. Love the art! Thumbs up from us!
You should replace the Dalmatian and coachman logo and do something like a picture of a cat running and call it Jaxman.
The list of what you CAN'T do would be very small!!! Marie in AZ
That's what we used to call 50/50 paint. 50 feet away and 50 MPH, it looks FACTREE! 👍
I was nervous when you were rolling that black paint, (remembering my own painting mistakes):) But wow Eric that turned out Beautiful! You have guts and talent.

I was thinking the same thing. He's getting it ready to sell.
Looks great. It’s unique without standing out. I would like to do something different to the outside of my RV...one day.
Ok, so I do professional pinstriping for NHRA, and you did it all wrong.... Just kiddin'! Looks good!
you are right, eric. the manifold does need to be ground flush by a machine shop.
didn't want to be one of those people you mentioned telling you what to do, so i kept it to myself, but now that i know i get a cookie, i said something. (is there a muffin option?)
How about a cupcake? lol.
@@nomadicfanatic make it chocolate and it's a deal.
Just had my manifold on my class a replaced. 2500.00 Can. Labor. And they didn't overcharge me like CRVL. Lol. But I'm one of those dreaded men! So we get the secret Man discount. LOL!
On your exhaust manifold, I'd put 2 gaskets on. May counter the slight warp creating a good seal
Yep... work on mine..
Looks good, Eric. I also like the idea of replacing the Coachman logo with a running tabby cat called Jaxman.

Damn that really came out nice
That's Home Depot paint bro!
Wow - don't do what Eric does. It just might work out! (I really like this new look!)
A word of advice from a former Ford tech, that exhaust leak will always return. It's a design flaw.
Interesting project - should inspire others to tackle their RV spruce up.
love your DIY's Eric, you always think outside the box and it works! looks good!
Great work on the new paint..looks amazing!
Looks good to me. Food for thought if anyone is considering advertising their you tube channel etc on their rig.
It looks really good. The design you picked fits well with the rest of the RV.
We did the same thing about a year ago. Took off our peeling decals and painted them back on but the colors we love. Great job!👍
Hey dude, in the video on your left eye (right eye in video) , it appears you may have another stye. I get these often, just a concerned fan. Stay well.

You and Jax are so talented! My favorite talent of Jax' is him jumping up on picnic tables. Luv U both. Great job.
You are the ultimate DIY'er - inspiring
Give that fuzzy boi a chinny scratchin for me
Look at this vincent VAN Gogh guy! Looks good bud
So.......selling the rig? Is that why you took off the Nomadic Fanatic decals?
It looks GREAT!!!! The colors give it a fresh, new, upgrade!! Great choice! The wind will help with the drying process
I'm so glad you did this. I want to do it to our RV!

after doing some severe research on painting RV.. I have an 1986 trailer, found a paint I'll be using.. BEYOND PAINT

👍🏻👍🏻. Looks a lot better. I was never a fan of your decal. But its yours 😁. Keep up the great work.
Not Lowe's, Home Depot is where you got the paint.
Just yesterday, I realized every time i saw a little smart car, I was looking for your logo. Lol.
I watched one of a year ago and yes the way you striped it now it has flow to it now so much better ,,,great idea ,,it is so awesome
New paint looks GREAT... Nicely done...
Nicely done of the stripes, Eric.
Looks great Eric!!
And it's confirmed.... Jax has a friend! 😻😻
This time in front window on the dashboard!
The jig is up Eric.... Spill the beans on the new kitty! 😺
Eric, the paint looks good. Alan

It turned out great. I really like your colors. 👍🏻
I remeber when I first starting watching this channel he was in a van man times have changed lol good goin bud
Yep, a van in Washington.
Hey Jax's Man, does the ape not know how hard it it to remove paint from your fur, that's why you stopped inside and supervised.
Looks Beautiful!! Nice work!!
I really really enjoyed those logos you had on your RV and car I thought they were awesome and unique for your Channel gonna miss them
Nice work, Eric. It looks great! Much love to you and Jax ❤
I’m diggin it
Rust oleum, no runs, no drips, no errors. I like the work you did. Practical, flexible, and adaptable for your own circumstances and experience. Things go wrong no matter what so do your darnedest and hope for the bestest.
Looks great
Nice work
Hello Jax man
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!?! Just kidding, looks really nice.
It looks outstanding! Come do our fifth wheel! You do beautiful work! 👍👍👍👍👍😁
Wow nice work, can't wait to see it after zep.
I sanded off my old cracked decals and painted over them with One Shot sign painters enamel. We used poli glow to add the seal and shine factor. Almost 3 years ago, and it looks great.
Behr paint is Home Depot not Lowes
Looking good .. we used Rustoleum on ours
You about to sell the RV? Getting it spiffed up, and the new working steps? 🤔
Full credit to Jax the cat, I'm so impressed on the decal taping skills he possesses LoL
There's plastic razor blades for that! And SCREW the haters! Looks good!
goo gone at dollar tree works better than goof. works on gorilla tape too.
So you are selling the RV to a new one?
ERIC,
You can have a wrap custom designed for your Rv.
Complete with your logo & anything else you might
dream up.
!
That is soooo cool Eric. I like the style and colors. Smootch to the Jaxman!
Dang, Eric. That's awesome! Thanks for the instructions. I'm looking at an 04 Tiffin that will need a little luvin.
Looks really good.
Impressive. Are you giving up your custom plates as well, in terms of being stealth?
Looks good. You are a many of many talents.
Patiently wait for your videos!!!
Be safe! Marie in AZ
To begin with, from the colour of the tape I thought you were creating a Seahawksmobile :D
What a project! But worth it.....great look!
I think it looks really good. Didn't realize it was that easy to paint an RV. Thanks for sharing.
Dude, it looks badass! When our decals fade I'm absolutely doing this! Thanks Eric! I wish I could understand why RV manufacturers are inspired by non-sense graphics, just silly stuff.
Well done, Eric. I'm super impressed. The patience that must've taken. I don't have it in me! It looks awesome!
It looks FANTASTIC!
Looks good Eric, gave me confidence to give it a try on my class A.😎✌
Thanks for showing us the process... just might have to try that on ol' Bessie!
Hope you share what wax product you use. I’ve been considering buying Aerospace 303 Marine UV Protectant for my older unit. It’s available on Amazon and just wondering if anyone’s used it? 🤷🏻♀️
Paint looks good. The Zep will really seal the deal. Nice idea to just be more stealth without all the channel advertising.
Some of my decals are fractured pretty good I'm assuming I need to try to get them down smooth as possible with the scotch right and hopefully that satin finish will cover that pretty well thanks again
Eric, just switched to Nomad Internet...thanks for your recommendation...works great
Lowe's does not sell Behr paint, it's from Home Depot
Eric. At the end of the day. It is your vehicle. Sure looks great. Clean lines. Perfect. Enjoying your videos. John
You really need to stop being so negative Eric. We don’t care. As for painting the RV, I would’ve found a indoor paint booth you could rent and do it that way as it will avoid any kind of problems out in the weather. Safe travels my friend.
If, after taping, you put down clear lacquer and then paint, you won't have runs.
That turned out really nice.. we need to do something with our cap.. its faded and dull
