A striking design for a vacation retreat. The huge metal roof would be expensive, but it would shed ice and snow. The windowed living room with its cathedral ceiling would be incredibly difficult to heat. I'd swap the laundry room with the bathroom to allow easier dryer venting, and one bedroom lacks an egress window. The stairway suggests a place for an elevator to the master suite, and the room at the tip-top is an interesting private space.

I agree with swapping the bathroom and laundry room. But I would open up the laundry room into a mudroom for the garage entry since this design doesn't look like it has a space for shoes and coats. You could still keep the W and D there

I love this pipe dream of a home! A bit more than I want to take care of to be honest and I do see areas for improvement. I would put the master bedroom downstairs with a bath and make two bedrooms upstairs with a shared bath. Is that bonus room large enough to put another bed in? You didn’t show us that at the end. There’s a bit more glass in that stairwell than I would want. You’d have to put it on acreage and hope that nobody would be watching you. It looks like you have a place to insert a fireplace but chose not to. That living room is special and wonderful for entertaining!

How do you clean brick in kitchen ? First bedroom on ground floor would never pass the fire code because the window is too small and inaccessible.

Nice but a lot of wasted space, no closets for the entrances and were is the main entrance.

Nope 👎 the pitch on that roof is awful, imagine the amount of rain or snow that would fall from that, is that a concrete counter near the cooker? There’s far far too many windows that are inaccessible, music? Jazz which I hate, sorry there’s too many things here that just don’t seem right, the wasted space in the upstairs bathroom, the walkway by the chimney breast upstairs, looks like a lift next to the stairs, the stove is shoved in a corner, the laundry room could be smaller and the kitchen made larger, I’ve a long list in my head if things I don’t like about this design, far too many in fact.

I totally totally agree. The pitch of roof is insane. Roofer would never come back ...at least not ours ! Middle fireplaces can cause leaks and no one would attempt that roof pitch. . Windows all over to clean them would be a nightmare. Also stairwell might not pass code. Kitchen is a dead end. Sorry...not feeling this one like some of the other great AVN designs.

Throw in a foyer in some of these homes, walking into a living room isn’t ideal
