    Great reviews as always thankyou. Its probably worth mentioning that gel heel pads are a couple of quid a pair and will make any shoe a more comfy ride. Some of my shoes are so padded they don't need it but i have high mileage shoes that are greatly improved by adding pads and so more miles can be had 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

    Most if not all New Balance shoes are not for people with Low lateral ankle bones like me. I have to give all of NB shoes some surgery for a proper fit. For low lateral ankle bones, The best brands are Saucony & Asics.

      You make a great point. There are brands and models of shoes that I have to modify to get a good fit usually by swapping out the insole. The Hoka Rincon is one that I have to do that for. Have a great weekend !

    As someone weighing 90kilos with US size 9, fresh foam more v4 gets compressed by my sheer weight and feels dead while running compared to the nimbus' soft and compliant midsole. The problem with nimbus is the hot upper, running at 36c is a challenge compared to more's much breathable upper.

      Im 6'2'' and about 80kgs and the Nimbus is definitely the better shoe for anything over 7-8kms.
      The More compresses and degrades way way faster.

    I also overpronate (left foot), and with my Gel-Nimbus 25, I notice that I can't run well in uneven sidewalks without seeing my left heel collapsing inwards.
    No matter how wide the base is, the Gel-Nimbus 25 was a bit of a disappointment to me. I can still run well with it if I run slower than my slow speeds or can run directly on the asphalt roads.
    And to think that last year, I did not get the More v4 because it looked too tall ... it looks like to be taller than the Nimbus... oh well, I guess my favorite cushioning shoes from Asics from now on will be the Gel-Kayano...30 .

    Tim your reviews are excellent in covering all the aspects of the shoes, I have seen many videos but none of the youtuber covered this important part which is flexing the NB-MORE shoe from the front 11:01 which you have covered very well, Its important to see from where all and how much the shoes can flex before making a decision, you know the pulse of the audience, keep producing such great videos, cheers :)
    2 Important wins for NB over ASICS - NB flexes very well from the forefoot and its Stability factor is better than Asics

    I'm also about 135lbs. but I find the More v4 too soft for long runs. I feel like I'm working too hard. I really liked the More v3 and I still wear it to work as a nurse.
    I'm thinking about a less chunky max cushioned shoe, like the Saucony Triumph or the Puma Magnify 2. Even the Asics Cumulus has 37 mm of stack.

    Its good when people doing reviews state their weight, I'm 200lbs and 6.2.. I like the NB 1080 shoes but the foam compresses to much for me. Think that might happen to me in the More v4 as well. I do like the Nike zoomX foam, it's soft but it doesn't compress as much as the fresh foam of new balance. With that said, I can run in new balance fuel cell foam with no problem.

    • @RunTall
      @RunTall  Год назад

      Hey thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. The more V4 does compress as much or more than the 1080. They definitely feel softer to run in than the 1080. Have fun shoe shopping! Have a great day.

    • @a1naruth
      @a1naruth 10 месяцев назад

      I'm not sure what happens after using them for some time, but in a shop the 1080 felt flat. They didn't bottom out like Rebels V3, which were just too soft. But the ride in 1080 seems more made for walking or landing on forefoot. The More doesn't have a plate inside, but the rocker build makes it more springy in the middle and propels the feet while walking or running.

    First time watching your video and I really appreciate rhe details! Just a quick question: I'm 183cm and 86kg (looking to drop down to 80kg). I do easy runs from 5 - 20km. Which one of these two, as well as the NB sc trainer 2, do you think i should get? Thanks!

    • @a1naruth
      @a1naruth 10 месяцев назад

      If you are buying only for running, then I would consider SC Trainer. It propels you to have more speed, while maintaining squishiness and comfort. But it is not a shoe you want to be standing in for prolonged time. The stiff rocker is also quite weird when walking slowly. Another downside is lower durability of fuelcell. If you only run in them it's ok, but I wouldn't expect them to last if they are your only daily shoes.
      You just can't go wrong with either of the other two. I mean when I tried Nimbus, my feet fell in love. Perfect plushiness no matter what you do. Of course it means there isn't much energy return for faster pace. The More feel more bouncy and their rocker propels you for going a bit faster. The comfort is still great.

      You might like the Gel Nimbus 25 over the More V4. The More V4 has a more squishy midsole while the nimbus 25 is highly cushioned but firmer. Have a great day!

      @RunTall  Год назад +2

      Hey Mark. I'd probably go with the Asics Gel Nimbus 25. The NB More V4 might be a little to squishy for you. I love to run in them but the midsole on the More V3 pretty much died when I got up to the 150 to 200 mile mark. I think the More V4 will probably be similar in terms of durability. And the Gel Nimbus does come in a wide. Have a great day.

    I have 1080v12 and love it... thinking of getting the more v4... what is the main difference of the midsole between 1080v12 and more v4?

    • @RunTall
      @RunTall  Год назад +1

      The 1080V12 is more versatile. They are soft yet you can pick up the speed pretty well if you wanted to do some speed work in them. The More V4 is a very soft ride with a large landing platform in the forefoot. They are super comfy but not as quick and really not great for speed work. Have a great day and stay safe.

      @@RunTallthanks, sounds good to me... I have plantar fasciitis, and can only go up to 4km max before the pain creeping in with my 1080v12... perhaps more v4 can help me to go for 5km with no pain... what do you think?

      @@danieltay1052 First, I am sorry that you are dealing with PF. I have had my issues with that as well and it's very frustrating. So, yes I think these might help. They are very soft and I've found them to be really comfortable for me to run in. I am not having any issues with PF at the moment but i am coming off a tendonitis issue and these are comfortable for me to run in. Have a great day.
