Well, I decided to give More V4 another try after returning it after the first try and now it'll join my rotation. I didn't care for the 1080v12 and it's become a good walking shoe for me. So, I was skeptical of the Fresh Foam X and perhaps I was colored by the experience I had with the 1080v12 for running. I decided to give More V4 another try in the new NYC Marathon Edition version as I'm a sucker for all-white colorways and I have to say that it really is the ultimate "easy/recovery" shoe, even more so than the Invincible Run 2 and the SC Trainer which I really enjoy. The thing about the Invincible Run 2 and the SC Trainer is that they both have very good energy return and have some propulsion to drive you forward to pick up the pace. The More V4 doesn't have that and, to me, that "character", feel, and ride makes it even better for the slow/easy/recovery runs. It kind of forces you to run slow and at an easy pace - like around 9:00/mile or even slower. I dare to say that the More V4 is more a "jogging" shoe than a "running" shoe. Haha. It's big and bulky but is not as heavy as it looks. It doesn't have much of an energy return with each foot strike as you get from the Invincible Run (1 or 2) or the SC Trainer but that's what makes it the "ultimate" easy/recovery shoe. It makes you want to run slow and take it easy. You forget about the metrics like pace, speed, HR, distance, and whatever else and you just enjoy a nice-and-easy slow run. It's very stable and smooth at a slow pace and makes you stay at it. It does not make you want to go faster like the Invincible Run and/or the SC Trainer. I like it and it's a keeper. It's way better than the 1080v12 or the Clifton 8. To me, they are two shoes that I tried very hard to like but just couldn't. In a word, they were both just BORING. I don't feel that with the More V4. It has a very clear purpose and reason for its existence and usage. There's really nothing like the Invincible Run (1 or 2) for soft squishiness and bounce and the SC Trainer has got its own thing going with the massive FuelCell midsole stack and plated Energy Arc but the More V4 has something of its very own. You have to give kudos to any shoe that has it.
thanks for this write up. I was trying to decide between, 1080 v12 and More v4. I have had 1080v11. I'm pretty lean at 140 lbs. How about you? Does it matter? I heard heavy folks benefit more from More v4.
@@LiveYoung0 I'm 5-7 and 127lbs, so I'm quite lean myself. I still use the More v4 on a regular basis for easy/recovery runs and it's great. It's not as soft and squishy as it'd probably be for heavier folks and I like that. It's very protective and there isn't any ground feel at all, but still responsive enough. The 1080 v13 is actually softer and squishier than the More v4. I really like the 1080 v13 as well, but the More v4 is preferable on days I want (or need) to go slow and easy for recovery.
Loving mine so far. Now, they’re great on level ground and downhills. There’s the edge of too much “sink in” on the uphills. If that rocker wasn’t there, it would be a slug fest going uphill!
Bra I think NB nailed it absolutely with the More V4 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I‘m running in the More V3 since last year and collected 300 miles in these. And I’m amazed how squishy they after that much of running 🤩 I think I will take it to 500 or 600 miles before I take my eyes on the More V4 😍😍😍
I've done my long runs and did NYC in the v3. I wear tested the v4 at a shakeout run and thought it felt a lot different. The platform was wider than the v3 yet the upper felt stiffer and narrower. I would have a hard time putting my orthotics in the v4. Overall, it felt stiffer and I didn't like the feel of the collar and tongue. While the v3 is less breathable, it felt broken in out of the box whereas the v4 felt stiffer. I may have to stock up on the v3.
I know I know he is reviewing a shoe after 100 miles. Cool. But know one is going to talk about how he put that intro 😮😮 the music, the video sync is top notch 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼. The attention to detail, thanks Ko. ✅
I just got the more v4s and I love them, everyone was trying to sell me Hoka Bondi 8 and I'm like NO!!!! been there tired of that. These are so incredible like really walking on soft pillows I like the so much I heard a reviewer say that thew new fuel cell Super comp Trainer was even better so I went ahead and ordered me a pair of those too they will be here tomorrow at 1 -5 central us time and ill post here again if they are as good as they are. So far the more v4s are definitely a dream to my feet after having 3 surgery's on my right foot I thought Id never find a good shoe again !!! but I did!!!!
@@alfredpiguing6625 I loved my 1040 v12 at first but I’m a heavier runner so I felt like the mid foot cushion wore out pretty quickly while running. It’s still so comfortable but I only use it for walking now as it’s lost its energy return for me.
These have just become my daily trainers (since I mainly run MAF). Will be my first shoe I’ll double up on come sales or when my first pair wear out. Love the stability despite the high stack, and the subtle squish and bounce back it provides.
I couldn’t agree more with your review! I have been using the more v4 for quite long now and I’m considering buying a new pair for my next marathon block. Their combination of squishiness and bounciness makes them unbeatable when it comes to slow pace runs. PS It was a real pleasure meeting you in NY!!! Thomas from Luxembourg 🇱🇺
Yes, you will definitely love it! Nevertheless 1080v13 came out recently and to be honest you you want an even softer experience you should try them out!
@@franklehouillier8865 I'm referring to ko's comment at the end about More v4/traditional max cushioned shoe vs. the new type of shoe (SC Trainer, Prime X, Superblast)
@@tsubakichan Apologies. Yes, there should be a name for those. What's odd is that many of them are considerably faster/lighter shoes than shoes in the old "max cushion" category.
Yeah max cushion is enough. First of all, no one is setting PRs in this and also there’s only 35 mm, isn’t 40 the limit? This is hardly max cushion. Maybe you’re thinking about the sc trainer?
It would be great to see another shoe rotation video for 2022. I'm trying to put together a 2 shoe rotation. Could the More V4 and the Endorphin Speed 2 (already use the 2) handle the bulk of what I need?
I am also loving the more v4. I add an insole for my PF and still have alot of room for my feet. The new mental health stigma version at running warehouse is so cool 😎
Hi, about PF, the insole helps with the pain, or is a support to use only after the PF is better? could you say where to find, the brand, maybe I will try to use I had a PF last year it tooks a lot to get better and now I am having it again. Thanks.
Any chance you could put the brand name somewhere? It's not in the title, description, or even the thumbnail. In this case, I am (or was) a New Balance guy so I knew these were NB shoes, but it might help others who might not know.
How does the upper on the More v4 compare to the super flexible/comfortable upper in the 1080v12? I chose the 1080v12 over the More v3 mainly because of the upper. Thanks!
Great review as always but was hoping you can do 200 mile reviews as I find them to be more valuable considering most people aren’t changing out shoes after 100 miles. For a max cushion shoe being aimed for long runs, they will rack up miles quickly and who wants a shoe to lose its feel just after 200 miles? I know the More v3 lost it’s cushion feel for me after around 200 miles…and I’m not heavy. I think a decent shoe should last at least up to 300 miles…considering todays technology.
My More V4 feels like they're collapsing at the heel & it feels like there is a negative heel to toe drop. I can't figure out if it is the foam degrading or if they were always like that due to the geometry of the shoe & I did not initially notice.
As always, I appreciate the review! This shoe is at the top of my list to replace an old pair of Asics Novablast 1 for easy day efforts - Don't worry, I have another pair of NB1, a pair of NB3, and the Triumph 20 🙂. Over 90% of my runs seem to be easy pace these days so I can never have enough higher stack, higher cushioning shoes.
The thing is with these shoes and 1080 v 10. 11 and 12 is that the heavier you are the less affective they are . Me at 13½ stone , so can't get long runs in comfort, I'd say ok up to around 8 or so miles , after that the ground starts to spank your feet . Don't get me wrong I love these shoes and new balance, both my 1080v11 ( 2 pairs ) ran to 650 miles 👍
I had to return my to NB .. They wore out on the bottom a lot .. So much I got a Voucher from NB for the exact cost to buy a new pair . I am 290lbs and run / walk about 12 miles a week .
Thanks for all your videos, theyre all so helpful! May we please know how many shoes you have???😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 every NBshoe i have searched for, you have it hahaha
Still not released in the UK, infuriatingly, so went for the Bondi 8. Markedly different experience and I miss the More 3 they replaced. I only got 350 miles from the 3's but suspect the Bondi will bomb on way past that do swings and roundabouts I guess
@@garethevans2499 I kinda wish I didn’t come across it as I’ve spent so much money 😂 You get really good deals + free shipping which typically takes 5 days - highly recommend
How will you compare this to Novablast 3? I'm torn on what to buy for my easy recovery day (If novablast3 cushion is as good as V4, I think I should go with it)
Hi 😊. In your opinion, does propel v4 suits for heavy person? (Im 104kg)... And may I know, how does the grip on wet road ya? Is it grippy and durable enough? (like pumagrip). Hope to hear some response/ advice frm you🙏🏻
Hi. I’m new to your channel and very much enjoy your videos. Right now I run in Nike Zoom X Invincibles, Brooks Glycerin 19s and, occasionally Hoka Clifton 8s. I’m deciding on a new pair of either the Brooks Glycerin 20s or the More v4. It’s been a very long time since running in NB shoes. Do you think the More v4 would fit into this rotation? Also, I’m 70 years old and typically run about four miles every day. Thanks!
Always super helpful to see your reviews and agree, this is a great daily trainer, recovery and long slow distance shoe. What's your pairing recommendation for threshold or interval runs?
Would you suggest these or the 1080 v12 for someone who doesn’t run more than 10 miles a week. The price difference is minimal so would use these for running and daily wear (errands - kids - etc)
I ran in v1 but not v2 of that shoe, but it's very different. The Infinity was definitely a bit firmer yet had a bit more pop. It's certainly a long run cruise control shoe, but it always fought me when I wanted to use it as a recovery run shoe or a long slow distance shoe.
Great shoe for sure my fav recovery shoe . Mizuno wave sky 6 for easy , novablast3 daily, puma Deviate Nitro 2 for speed and racing or the speed 3 (lots of choice , got to much shoes for sure)
I love these shoes but at 98 miles, I have WAY more wear than you. Im 5’8 and weigh 175 pounds. Should I be replacing my shoes sooner? They definitely don’t feel as good already… bummer
everyone's mileage will vary. things like the terrain you run on, the temperatures, how frequently you use the shoe, the number of hours a given milestone of miles will take, and whether you use the shoe for uses other than running - those can all effect how long a shoe lasts. some people are hard on their shoes (it's not anyone's fault, it's just how they run). and some people get a literal thousand miles out of their shoe. shoes do wear down over time, and a well loved shoe will feel different than a brand new one. but there is a difference between a used shoe and an end-of-life shoe. but your body will usually tell you when you hit that drop off from a used shoe to an end-of-life shoe
Trying to get into some more cushioned shoes as I’ve gotten older and feel like I could use some more but these desk lime cement to me. What am I missing?
Softness is a function of time (foot strike, ground contact time, gait, efficiency, etc) and highly personal. If you don’t find these soft, consider the shoes that I consider uncomfortable (glycerin, bondi, skyward x, ghost, cumulus)
I have both... My recommendation is More v4 all the way. Although the more v4 is designed to be a recovery shoe and SC trainer as a daily trainer, I use them for their opposite use case. More V4 is a great daily trainer for me because it has a good amount of bouncing and in the same time plush enough to protect your joints. The SC trainer gives you a good energy return when you run very slowly and it feels like the shoe runs by itself. But when you pick up the speed it starts to put more pressure on the joints and it makes it harder to recover. So for me I'd pick more v4 as a daily trainer. SC trainer is good only for recovery days.
@@freihat Interesting perspective about the SC Trainer. I"ve been a bit hesitant about that one. Doctors of Running also discussed that shoe possibly shifting the stress from the ankles to the hips.
I've been loyal to Hoka for the past five years, (Clifton and Mach iterations), but am going to try this shoe out as I am now doing longer runs at low heart rate, and to be honest, my feet ache on longer runs in Hokas. Also, looking for more durability, a fault with Hoka, IMO. So long as the More v4 doesn't irritate my achilles, it should be good.
Which has a more plush/comfortable feel between this one & NB Fuel Cell SC Trainer? I currently run in NB 1080 V12's (35-50 miles per week) which is a great shoe imo but I'm also a tennis player so my feet take a pounding & was looking for a recovery shoe for days after I play tennis & run on same day. Thanks for the post as always interesting.
It could come down to your footstrike, but for me, it’s the More v4. I also think the SC Trainer fits more in that super stack category, and I use it a bit different
@@kofuzi Thanks for the feedback. One followup, you mentioned the More v4 is apparently a wider base (than the v3). Is it comparable to the 1080 v12 bottom in terms of width or if wider any concerns (in your opinion) of shoes making contact w/each other possibly causing a trip?
Picked up a pair of these from RW after checking out this review. Bottoms are about the same width as my 1080v12's, just slightly wider in some places & length is just a bit longer but on foot fit is very comparable to the 1080v12's imo. Not yet had a chance to run in but just walking around in them outta the box they appear to be pretty much what I was looking for in terms of add'l comfort underfoot for recovery run days & a great shoe to keep on the feet otherwise during the day.
"Honey I shrunk Kofuzi" Absolutely love these shoes they are so enjoyable to run in. I realize that they dont fit exactly the same but would be curious at the end of the day how they "stack" (hehe) up against the SuperBlast... I do like the enhanced rocker in the v4 over the v3 of the More and dont feel as you do that it is all that similar to the SC Trainer to warrant it being in the same category but unsure on the ASICS
@kofuzi hello, did you have problems starting out in the shoes? my first 2-3 +- 10km runs i had issues with the shoe rubbing along the left inner side of each foot causing blisters. Its the same size as my other shoes but the shoe feels narrow on the inside. Maybe i have to walk them in more before running distances.
I tried the More v4 and I think it's a good shoe for the easy/recovery category but I have the Invincible Run, GlideRide 3, and the SC Trainer for the long easy miles and I decided that I like those more. I also have the Clifton 8 and 1080v12 but now use them more for casual walking than running. So, I really didn't see the More v4 fitting into my rotation. I recently got the Prime X Strung and it's the bounciest and most fun shoe out of all the shoes I've tried this year. And I have the Novablast 3, Speed 3, Mach 5, and Deviate Nitro 2 for daily training so I looked at the More v4 and just couldn't find a place for it to fit in. At some point, you reach a limit (unless you are a reviewer who gets shoes sent to you from the manufacturers) of how many shoes you can have in your rotation and actually use all of them on a regular basis. I run 70~80 miles per week with around a quarter of them on the trails. Have 10 trail shoes in the rotation as well. I feel like I'm maxed out now. It's time for me to stop reading/watching shoe reviews and run even more!
@@kofuzi Yes, the Prime X is in a category of its own - somewhere in between racing shoes and daily trainer with some aspects of max-cushioned easy/recovery shoes that protect your legs and joints during long runs. The SC Trainer, to me, sits somewhere between daily trainer and easy/recovery and I suspect the Superblast has its own qualities that set it apart from the Prime X and SC Trainer. Have you tried the Prime X Strung yet? I haven't tried the og Prime X but almost everyone who has tried both say the Strung's new upper makes it much better with greater comfort. Would love to see a separate review from you about the Strung version.
That’s quite a rotation. Would be interested in your thoughts on how the Glideride 3 compare to the Supercomp Pacer and how the Novablast 3 compares to the Mach 5.
@@mtmatt6111 Yeah, I feel like I'm kinda maxed out now. Haha. I haven't tried the SC Pacer but I do have the SC Trainer and the Rebel v3. I'd imagine the Pacer is somewhere in between the two. The GlideRide 3 is really great for long distance runs with max cushioning but it isn't squishy and a bit on the firm and snappy side compared to the SC Trainer. The ride can best be described as smooth and steady compared to the somewhat soft and bouncy character of the FuelCell foam in the NB shoes. The Novablast 3 and Mach 5 are similar but quite different as well. Both are on the bouncy side but the Mach 5 feels a little faster, smoother and more natural to me. But the bounciness of the Novablast 3 makes it more fun, IMO. The Novablast 3 is better for easy long runs although you can still pick up the pace in it. The Mach 5 is about a full ounce lighter and also narrower so it's better for speed/tempo kind of runs. The Novablast 3 is light but the midsole is pretty bulky and wide so you feel that bulkiness through your gait cycles and seems to drag when trying to go fast.
just got the red colorway today i ran for about 3 and a half to 4 miles for 40 mins then walked about 25 mins and got around 5 plus miles in total i guess i have to break them in my legs were more tired than usual
Halo kofuzi,im tired looking for the size cause very hard to find. In the market only size 45 (29cm) my feet is 29.5 cm . Is it still comfortable when i take down size ?
Depends a lot on the weather. But if it’s mild temps, I usually won’t bring anything. 8-10 miles is a pretty standard everyday distance for me when I’m in a marathon block

A1. more A2. no. they're different A3. yes. but you will probably want to try them on at the store first. people who love the invincible tend to love it for reasons other than it being soft, even if that is their stated reason for preferring it.
If it’s constant walking yes. But if it’s spread out over the course of a day with a lot of standing around, maybe not. It has an aggressive rocker up front that can make it awkward for me when not in motion
@@kofuziow yea good point! then i will be looking for a less aggressive rocker. I plan to use it for japan travel so there will defintely be a mix between standing and long walks.

Best shoes i have ever had to date ! Seriously , they are amazing. Even with my high arch the fit is superb. I have to get a second pair :D
Loving the reviews Kofuzi. I own the 1080 v12 but I'm looking to get a pair of the More v4 for the long, easy miles.
Do it! Just upgraded and slayed a ten miler on my first use. I came out of a pair of 1080 v12 shoes, too.
1080 v12 are better
How was it? I have the 1080v12 and thinking of getting the more v4 also
@@alfredpiguing6625 I loved my 1040 v12 at first but I’m a heavier runner so I felt like the mid foot cushion wore out pretty quickly while running. It’s still so comfortable but I only use it for walking now as it’s lost its energy return for me.
@DV1979 in what ways?
These have just become my daily trainers (since I mainly run MAF). Will be my first shoe I’ll double up on come sales or when my first pair wear out. Love the stability despite the high stack, and the subtle squish and bounce back it provides.
What is MAF?

I couldn’t agree more with your review! I have been using the more v4 for quite long now and I’m considering buying a new pair for my next marathon block. Their combination of squishiness and bounciness makes them unbeatable when it comes to slow pace runs.
PS It was a real pleasure meeting you in NY!!!
Thomas from Luxembourg 🇱🇺
Hey Thomas, would you recommend this guy for a long walking? I have my first big trip coming in and want a shoe for long walks.
Yes, you will definitely love it! Nevertheless 1080v13 came out recently and to be honest you you want an even softer experience you should try them out!
I feel like the new sub-genre should be called "Overstack Shoes" since they exceed WA regulations.
I think Max stack is descriptive enough.
Yeah max cushion is enough. First of all, no one is setting PRs in this and also there’s only 35 mm, isn’t 40 the limit? This is hardly max cushion. Maybe you’re thinking about the sc trainer?
None of us are ever setting any records so who cares if they exceed WA regulations? Max cushion seems like an appropriate enough designation
I bought the NYC version while I was out there for the race. Can’t wait to try them out!
I love running in my More v3; they’re just so clunky looking, though. The v4 looks more chiseled. I’m sure to grab a pair before long.
So happy with my More 4.
Thank you Kofuzi.
Great news, since mine arrive tomorrow! Thanks for sharing your opinion.
Hope you enjoy them!
the white More v4 looks fantastic
It would be great to see another shoe rotation video for 2022. I'm trying to put together a 2 shoe rotation. Could the More V4 and the Endorphin Speed 2 (already use the 2) handle the bulk of what I need?
Lol I bought the Endorphin Speed 2.
Now I'm looking for a pair to complement it.
Really liking the More V4!
Thanks.
“Aggressive tinkering” is such a Kofuzi expression
I nearly pulled the trigger on the More V4. Loved the feel of them. I've already got a pair of 1080v11. Thought I'd get the Gel Nimbus 25 instead.
Any chance you could put the brand name somewhere? It's not in the title, description, or even the thumbnail. In this case, I am (or was) a New Balance guy so I knew these were NB shoes, but it might help others who might not know.
Mines just came today, I always run in Asics venture gel 8’s and putting the NB v4 on and feeling that rocker motion was new to me, very interesting.
Just got some recently and am really looking forward to the next few months with them!
hope you love them!
Great recovery shoe
How does the upper on the More v4 compare to the super flexible/comfortable upper in the 1080v12?
I chose the 1080v12 over the More v3 mainly because of the upper.
Thanks!
The delta in the uppers is far less between the models this year
Upper of 1080 v12 is much better... Softer, more breathable and more elastic
I just cant wait to try this one. I got it for $50. Hoping it arrive soon 😁 Thanks for the review!
Hope you enjoy!
Totally getting this after doing a lot of homework
priorities. respect.
Got all the information I needed
great!
Money talks baby. The less a shoe lasts, the more money they make.
My More V4 feels like they're collapsing at the heel & it feels like there is a negative heel to toe drop. I can't figure out if it is the foam degrading or if they were always like that due to the geometry of the shoe & I did not initially notice.
Yeah... Now that v5 is coming soon, the v4 is now on sale and I was able to grab this exact colourway at USD65.
Where did you get them for 65 usd??
Interesting! I run in Hokas, but they only last two to three months. Perhaps I should try these shoes!
I def think you should give these a shot! I used to run in Hoka exclusively but these are fantastic.
Main reason why I stopped running in Hokas, they felt dead after 200+ miles
As always, I appreciate the review! This shoe is at the top of my list to replace an old pair of Asics Novablast 1 for easy day efforts - Don't worry, I have another pair of NB1, a pair of NB3, and the Triumph 20 🙂. Over 90% of my runs seem to be easy pace these days so I can never have enough higher stack, higher cushioning shoes.
if you left only one pair, so that it would be a Triumph or Fresh Foam X More v4 ??
Hello, do you plan to review Adidas Prime X strung?
That spot in the centre you pointed out is worse for me after 100km - down to the foam. I do not think that is hard-wearing enough tbh.

Yayaaaaa!!! Im sticking with new balance!!!
Nice 👌I'll wait for these puppies to go on sale and give them a try.
Does anyone find some problem about breathing, overheat or some feeling to hot the feet in summer's training?
Thanks for your review. Is the V4 as stiff as the Bondi 7 or more flexible?
A1. no.
A2. yes.
Just ordered a pair I'm excited 😊
Hope you enjoy them!
@@kofuzi thanks I really appreciate it

Thanks!
If compare it with Invincible 3. Which shoes will be the best maximum cushion shoes.
Always super helpful to see your reviews and agree, this is a great daily trainer, recovery and long slow distance shoe. What's your pairing recommendation for threshold or interval runs?
Rebel 3 or SC Elite 3
@@kofuzi You're the best, thank you!
How do you compare it to Adidas Prime X? Thanks for the feedback! 🙏
Would you suggest these or the 1080 v12 for someone who doesn’t run more than 10 miles a week. The price difference is minimal so would use these for running and daily wear (errands - kids - etc)
Great video, thanks. How is it compared to Nike infinity Zoom X?
I ran in v1 but not v2 of that shoe, but it's very different. The Infinity was definitely a bit firmer yet had a bit more pop. It's certainly a long run cruise control shoe, but it always fought me when I wanted to use it as a recovery run shoe or a long slow distance shoe.
For some reason, New Balance is only selling the white ones in my country, South Africa.
is that some sort of joke
@@kofuzi I wish it was a joke.
Great shoe for sure my fav recovery shoe . Mizuno wave sky 6 for easy , novablast3 daily, puma Deviate Nitro 2 for speed and racing or the speed 3 (lots of choice , got to much shoes for sure)
Are those shoes far better than the asics glideride 3? I was considering the asics as my next long easy run, but it makes me hesitate
If you don’t find these soft, consider the shoes that I consider uncomfortable (glycerin, bondi, skyward x, ghost, cumulus)
do you think its a proper shoe for HM?
Thanks for the review. How would you rate this against the SC Comp trainer? If I were to buy only one, which one would you recommend?
4:15 where'd you get that face mask?
I've been loyal to Hoka for the past five years, (Clifton and Mach iterations), but am going to try this shoe out as I am now doing longer runs at low heart rate, and to be honest, my feet ache on longer runs in Hokas.
Also, looking for more durability, a fault with Hoka, IMO.
So long as the More v4 doesn't irritate my achilles, it should be good.
Ever try the Bondi or the Gaviota?
The Superblast will feel much lighter because of the extra $70 you won't be carrying around. :)
No
The arch looks quite high. I have been wearing hoka clifton 8s and the arch of the shoe sticks into the arch of my foot. Does these NBs do the same?
Does taking the insoles out help with this?
Prime X is a great example of that super stack category shoe
