Thanks for the detailed review! I use the more v4 for a year now, had a special "gore tex" équivalent version of the v4 before and the midsole was a lot softer .. i need a more v5 but softer and squishier .. i really hope that the v5 will be it for me .. can't find any other alternatives
Thank you! Hmm-I can’t. I asked my wife (also a runner) actually if she’d check them out. She might do that but we’ll see. Don’t wait on me to make a move but you bring up an excellent point. Might have some new insights here on the channel 🤞
I believe the more v5 has the same foam blend as the 1080v13? I haven’t tried the more v5 obviously - but have tried the 1080v13 & the more v4….. and it’s no comparison. The 1080v13 dominates in every single way - and I cannot wait to try the more v5. As someone who’s extremely new to running shoes and is very limited in options because of my feet - shit I’m so excited. I’m hoping to be able to pick up that light blue colour in a wide size. Beautiful shoe
Ahh I’m not sure but if so that would be sweet. The foam is superb plush. Forgiving! And a little peppy. It’s VERY EXCITING that you found a few shoes that work with your feet. I really hope the v5 works well for you! Yes the colorway is nice
The v4 is great. The 5 is SOOO different! Good different. It’s available at several good websites/amazon stores now. NB website didn’t have it there last week checked. Probably the 1st. It’s a very squishmallow shoe
The inner "wings" of the V4 do not agree with my right foot, which is flat and has a bunion. Because the rubber forces your foot to stay within the insole shape, rather than stretching out slightly with the upper. I've kinda solved the problem by putting an insole in that pushes the rubber wings out slightly. It looks like the v5 doesn't have such pronounced wings. I tried it briefly in a shop and didn't notice the same issue. Feels like a better shoe generally, but looks clunky as hell in that grey colour.
Sorry to hear you had trouble with the v4. Good on you for finding a solution! I remember the sidewalls being less prominent (just checked). The shoe looks better in person and it’s pretty fun/easy rider
Wow RIP your v4. They’re on clearance now 🤑 the v5 feels softer. I have a measuring device otw to get accurate numbers but to touch and my foot, it’s softer. Might can do a different aftermarket insert to shore up things and make it more your style
Is the fit the same as the V4? I ordered the V5 in the same size as the V4. The V5 looks a little bit more like a casual sneaker then a running shoe like the V4.
I’d say the fit is about the same and if anything the midfoot lockdown seems better. The lacing/eyelet chain spacing make it so plus the really padded tongue of the shoe. It does have a certain look to it but it’s a runner for sure
I have them both, and the V5 feels a lot more snug than the V4. I even think it can get me blisters. I will try them this weekend, but they truly feel smaller.
Does anyone else have both? I have them, and the V5 feels a lot more snug than the V4. I even think it can get me blisters. I will try them this weekend, but they truly feel smaller.
I wear size US 10 Wide 2E in 1080v13 feels a little bit snug in the toebox should i go for US 10.5 in 4E width in the more v5 as its very snug in the toebox based on your measurements in the comments above. Kindly guide Kindly comment about the vertical volume in the toebox also as i feel its a bit of lower vertical volume toebox in the 1080v13 as THE WIDTH ACROSS MY TOES WHEN I MEASURED WAS 9 CM approx and at the widest part my foot measures around 10.9 cm
Hey there. Thanks for the question. Yes, I’d consider sizing up for the v5. I’m not sure you’d want to add width to the 4E unless you’ve had good experience with that (a thought) I have D widths on both so I’m not sure what the mm measure is for each of the toe boxes. As for the height of the toeboxes they look about equal (looking at them right now) the 1080 fabric is stretcher vs the more. I hope this helps 👍
@@RunningNPAdventures thanks a lot I really love your reviews out of the many I have watched as you compare the little things side by side especially the fit which helps a lot in purchase decisions. Keep making more reviews👍

@user-dv6vz8xj6p tried 1080 v4s are better ove more cmsecure with squire to them extremly soft anything softer would be over kill the only think I like on 1080s is the back pading a bit more luxurious and slightly thicker but these shoes feel a bit wobbly and ment for alight or skinny runner the v4s feel like they are for a heavier person not woth the price of £160 £80 yes
@@happydays8759 if you’re saying the 1080 v13 is more expensive than the more v4 then yes. I would also consider the more v4 for a heavier person. I agree about the heel cushion. It’s nice on the 1080 v13
@@snowwalker9999 The 1080V13 has stability score of 2 and more v4/v5 has 1.. but in my opinion it is the other way around.. So if u want stability I suggest go for V4/V5
Measured with calipers. Sorry for the delay. More v5 98.2mm tapers down to 72mm More v4 99.3 tapers down to 70mm The height of the toe box is tricky to measure. The material of the v4 is more stretchy and v5. V4 is also softer. I like the toe box of the v4 better I think. I hope this helps
I didn't like the v5 I turn my ankle in them alot stalk hight too high I think v4 are the best for me I just bought 7 v4 before they took it off New balance website haha 😄
Wow that’s awesome. I agree the v4 is much different from the v5. Almost “seated” in the shoe differently. Plus the durometer of the FF is different and the heel bevel. Did I read you bought SEVEN pair? If so then WOW
well they got rid of the split heel and the giant crash pad, so that has to change something. I'm really sick of all these major and meaningless changes between every model. it's silly and gimmicky. it does look like they upgraded the upper, which is a welcome change as the upper on the v4 was lacking for a $150 msrp shoe. If I had to guess I'd bet the stack height got taller, because every brand does this with every new version and it's the dumbest trend going. I haven't seen anyone do a review of the new 840 v1. That would be cool. Some folks might want something similar to a more with less bulk. thats what the 840 looks like it could be to me.
The heel is definitely different. I tried a bit of heel striking in both and both are fine. I agree-each new iteration has to have something. The v5 has a lot of changes. The v4 is 34/38 and the v5 is 43/39. The upper feels more structured and on price for the function and comfort. Interesting about the 840. Definitely has some features worth looking at. I might pick this up for a review after looking it over 👍
Last year the softest and most comfortable running shoes were the Asics Gel-Nimbus 25 with the NB 1080 v13 coming in second. But in 2024 the softest and most comfortable running shoes will be the NB More v5 for sure ! This year, the Gel-Nimbus 26 is more stable, grippy, versatile than the #25 , but the middlesole is not that soft anymore ! Still a fantastic shoes, but now even the 1080 v13 beats the Nimbus 26 in softness.
That’s so interesting. I’m not that familiar with the Nimbus line but I do know the More and the 1080. The v13 is wicked soft as well as the more v5. Coupla great shoe options out there. Interesting the Nimbus went more firm
Very comprehensive comparison. For recovery runs, the More is hard to beat. The 4 mm drop is perfect for those easy paces.
Love it. Agreed nothing else like it. I didn’t expect it to be so different

Fresh foam More V4 must be the most unstable clunky shoe ever, even for walking and standing and I prefer neutral shoes. Is More V5 more stable?
I would say yes. The wider platform and more stricter upper feels a lot more stable than the topsy v4 with that stretchy upper
