I don’t think I’ve ever seen a running shoe squash down that much as shown in your video. You can really see the foam squash down a lot! Looks really good though.
Couldn't agree more with your callouts. Spot on. I would make further comment, but you've said pretty much everything I would've said already and you did it with a much better accent than I possess myself.
Great video! Been lovin' the max stack shoes lately as I've had my NB SC Trainer v1 and the NB More v4. But your point on the “run-able” max stack did it for me. Thanks! Looks like I've narrowed it down to the Puma Mag Max vs the Brooks Glycerin Max vs Hoka Skyward X. … gave up on the Asics SBv2 already (can't find it anywhere her in Canada).🤦🏻♂️
One of the things I really like about the V5 is that in my country New Balance is selling the V4 on clearance. Cheap as chips - over $100 cheaper than the Puma MagMax (which was my other choice) I love everything about the current Nitro shoes but $104 more? Yeah, nah.
Great review. I was definitely toying with the idea of getting this shoe but I think I’m going to hold off now and spend a bit extra and get the Glycerin max. That looks unreal. And I have the More v4. New Balance are playing weird games with their price. I don’t understand how this can have “more” and yet be cheaper than the 1080. Price has killed the 1080 for me. Even the 880 has mad pricing.
Price is one of the reasons I like the v4 so much. You can always find it at good discounts, and I never paid more than 100 euro for a regular pair (lowest was 60). Downside is the durability. I feel that they start to lose it at around 250 km.
I’m enjoying using the More v.4 & would consider this again as my recovery, easy going shoe but I’m also considering the 1080 for that purpose. Your thoughts?
I’ve more v4, and will get puma magmax instead of more v5 for the versatility as per your review... looking to replace my 1080v12 and puma velocity nitro 2... which shoes(a few of them maybe) suit to complement the puma magmax?
@chris I've recently bought these for every day life as I'm on my feet all day. However I'll be using them for my taper miles. End of October I'll be attempting my longest run a 15 miler. With what people say about these shoes bottoming out on longer runs would you use these for the 15 miles or stick with shift 3s ? Thanks Chris
I am not a fan of max stack shoes that only do Recovery/Easy paces. I prefer more versatile shoes. Also I found that I really don't like very soft shoes. I see I use more energy stabilizing my landing and pushing off. If the stack is going up the shoe should also offer me corresponding energy return otherwise it is unnecessary weight. BTW, your shoe already seems to be showing some outsole rubber wear. How many miles are on it?
I’m the same with New Balance, I always go up half a size to UK 10.5. Same for Hoka. What’s weird is you look at their size charts and a UK 10.5 is a US 11. With most other manufacturers, Nike for instance, a UK 10 is a US 11. So I guess I’m better off ignoring the UK sizing and going for a US 11. Not sure why all manufacturers don’t use the same size conversion?🤷♂️😂
I hope the outsole lasts longer than the V4. Mine are completely worn at around 240 miles. The foam is still comfy as long as conditions are dry though
Best shoe Ive had so far
I got the more V5….most cushion I’ve ever had in a shoe. I’m on my feet all day and my legs feel fine.
Will wait to buy the brooks glycerin max. Tried the more V5, it’s decent and well priced compared to other options in its category.

The "love life" bit was brilliant
ordered mine, just waiting to be delivered and tried it on😍

My V5 arrived today, I don’t like heavy shoes either but they feel lighter than they look it’s baffling

@@theghostofpcs2391 Yeah I agree. I think it paid £82. It was a no brainer. 👌
Good video on Thursday about all the max stack options might be worth a watch if you have a mo then
@@FordyRuns I pretty much watch all of them 😂 I’ll be there. Thanks
They like to make it clear that the 1080 is their premium and best daily trainer. Hence the steeper price
Crazy tall sidewalls, they are like 50% of the overall foam height.

I prefer the 1080
@@FordyRunsMay I know why?
@@FordyRuns Since most of my runs are of the daily training 8:20-8:40 minutes per mile pace, I just think the 1080 would do well for me.

Velocity 3 is the sweet spot for dailies. If you loved the VN2 you'll love the 3.

Chris off topic so apologies but have you been told any inside info of when the Glideride Max is releasing in the UK?
October 1st VERY limited numbers

What do you prefer Fordy - 1080 or More V5? I need a new recovery/easy day shoe ...
1080
V5 if u want more cushion
1080 is good but if ur a. Bigger person get the v5

yeah would be super helpful!
Fordy, can you give the Balos another try
No 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I much prefer the 1080 tbh
More please…👟✌️
Good morning. For my 65kgs, too much maximalis. Like to Fordy. Have a great day.
Good morning!
Best of luck in Berlin!
thanks alot

Nice socks color. Please share its linke
Too bad the outsole rubber is almost gone after ca.200km
It's a cruiser, alright. I love my pair but it's definitely not a shoe made for tempo runs.
sorry 9-10 min miles are too slow for you, but for some people, thats where they are.
I think it’s incredible whatever pace you run (watch all my content and also some of the people I coach)
@@FordyRuns One of the best things about running is that there's no wrong way to do it (except for ways that make you injured 😅).
