  • The New Balance More v4 and Asics Gel-Nimbus 25 are big shoes built to provide the last word in comfort on your easy and long runs, and both are very good at that job. However, there are plenty of differences between them, starting with the price, since the Gel-Nimbus is considerably more expensive than the More v4.
    In this video Run Testers Mike, Tom and Nick talk through the pros and cons of each shoe and say which they’d opt for if you’re in the market for a max-cushioned shoe.

    Yah, the Gel-Nimbus keeps changing a lot with every interaction. I had the Nimbus 21 to 24 so far and the 21 was stiff and heavy but super stable, the #22 was still firm and stable but was a lot less heavy and more breathable . Then the #23 was extremely comfortable for walking, probably the most comfortable shoe for walking that I ever had but for running was just ok. Was like running in the beach where my feet sinks in the sand. Then the most versatile, quick and lightweight came : Gel-Nimbus 24. What a shoe ! It beat every lightweight daily trainer I had. Last year and years before.
    Can't wait to try the Gel-Nimbus 25, a new experience is about to initiate for me in 2023.

      The Nimbus 24 was the best Nimbus to date. Nimbus sucked for about 6-7 versions. The 24 did bottom out a bit, though. Not as cushy as More 3 or Clifton 6-8. I have a Nimbus 24 sz 12 for sale.

    Nimbus is the clear winner for me. I am a heavy runner and for all the cushioning in the More v4, it still leaves my legs sore. Not so with the Nimbus. It is the most comfortable ride that I have experienced. Asics built a quality shoe in this version.

  • @roostermiller
    @roostermiller Год назад +5

    It would be interesting to see how they would stack up if the drops where both 4mm or both 8mm. Because that changes the ride. I have found that in max stack shoes 0mm to 5mm you don't notice it as much because of the the stack height, but when you go to 8mm you can really feel the forward angle. Ran in Altra Olympus (3, 3.5 & 4) 0mm, Hoka (Clifton, Rincon, Mach) 5 to 6mm, NB more V4 4mm. Saucony (speed 2) 8mm, really notice the difference in the Saucony.

    I got both shoes and I prefer the Nimbus 25. The rocker geometry in the V4 is definitely better than the Nimbus25 but because the upper of the V4 is a bit voluminous for my thin (but a bit wide) feet, the Nimbus25 feels less clunky for a max cushion shoes. The outsole of the V4 maybe a bit better but the I prefer the upper material of the Nimbus25 (I had the wide US8 size for the Nimbus and a regular US8 for the V4).

    The heel sink from the split design midsole on the v4 did not work for me at all. It also was to roomy and felt like a brick on foot. The nimbus has the best upper in the game and in my opinion is my choice as an athlete nearing 190 lbs also makes an amazing walking shoe.
