I think a person weight play an important role in the cushion and bounce of midsole, reviewers should state their weight so viewers can make a guesstimate on how the shoes will perform for them individually.

I am a larger runner (105kg) and the triumph 20 is phenomenal! Bouncy yet supportive cushion and beats my previous favorite, the asics glideride-3. The more v4 is way too soft, for my weight, and feels clunky (much more so than hoka clifton/bondi).

  • @vacamoto83

If you weigh more than 85 kilos, and especially if you are a heel striker, the v4 are not good for you. Perhaps changing the running, attacking midfoot, it can go quite well, but the heel after a few kilometers completely widens and I do not know if the shoe, can become a drop - 0. After a fast walk of 11 kilómeters much pain in the heels. The shoes will have only 20 kilometers. The white rubber under the sole, already is spoiling, and the black part already has important signs of wear.I am very sorry for these shoes, I really liked them. Now I do not know if I can use them with confidence not to do harm to my feet. Sorry for my English.

Triumph 20 is my shoe of the year. You can do any type of workout in it and it works well as a gym shoe or everyday shoe as well. The more v4 I had go return as it was too soft and I seemed to do a wheelie when I walked around as the new heel split design didn't work well for me.

  • @dbo4506

Triumph 20 is the best runner over ever owned. Incredible at everything from threshold to easy runs and my long runs. The only down side for me is I find the shoe makes me want to run a little faster so when I do my slower runs they often turn into a steady run instead. So I tend to save it for my longer runs or tempo days.

100% agree! I've run 5km, 10km, and 15km PBs in the Triumph 20 - it just gives me so much confidence. Every time I take it out I end up running more than I intended, faster than I intended. Fresh foam X in my experience has been great for the first 100km then just died and been relegated to supermarket shoes

Loving my More V 4s Long Zone 2 runs are great in the shoe, 20 miles recently done without typical ankle fatigue, and actually I feel I can step up and add goal marathon paced runs into the mix with it, albeit this is slower than most at 8:45 to 9 min mile, I was looking to replace my speed 2s but don’t think I will bother now. Yes the shoe felt a bit bulky to start with, but I don’t really notice it now after my 40 miles in the shoe. Great recommendation Tom.

You're not the only one: the 20 to me feels cushioned in the sense it insulates me from the ground, but at slower paces it's not especially soft. Only at higher speeds does it seem to begin to give in and offer some softness.
But here's the weird thing: I got a pretty much new pair of Triumph 17s at an Op Shop for the equivalent of US$ 15: was planning to use them as beaters, but they are actually softer at slower paces than the 20s, or the 19s! For me they just work well - newer is not always better for everyone!😃😃

Youre not the only one. So far I don’t think the 20 should be in max cushion category. Certainly can’t be compared to Nike Invincible. Probably I’ll have to try the 20 in faster pace to see if it’s any softer

I’m a big fan of the 20, but it is too firm at times (not great on tired legs). That said does Saucony even make true a soft midsole shoe? Even the Shift 3 (great long run shoe too) is a max shoe on the firmer side. I like that at times, but if I want soft I go with shoes from Asics or New Balance at this time.
