I really want these. But in the UK they are £210 which is outrageous in my opinion. Can pick up super shoes for less, ane in my experience super shoes these days are pretty durable. My alphafly v1's got 260 miles in and still feel great
I totally get that and you are right about being able to find some good deals on super shoes that are pretty durable. The adidas Adios Pro 3 has been on sale here for about the same or less money. Run Tall and stay safe.
Looks good and fairly breathable as well for summer. I think I am also going to pass over this version as well. I still have a fairly low milage NB RC Elite 2 which I plan to use more shortly for long training runs. It would practically serve me the same. I told you in the other post that I also picked up a cheap Adios Pro 2 for $130. They are older models but still great shoes.
You are right about that. If you watch the sales you can get some great deals on marathon race day shoes less than what they are getting for daily trainers. Thanks for sharing Tolunay. Have a great day.
I found the first couple of times I was lacing mine too tight. Because the upper and laces flex a bit, I was able to tie these very tightly. I thought it felt awesome. Snug fit in the forefoot, with room for my toes, much like yourself. Unfortunately, after mile ten and my feet started to swell, even with everything Flexing, it felt maybe a bit too tight. Every time I have worn them since, I do not lace them as tightly through the mid foot but still lock the ankle down with a runners not. They did not feel as Locked Down, but I could still center over the shoe's comfortably. The hesitation in lacing them that way, left me with just a more comfortable run and the end of the day. Appreciate your review. Sounds like you are enjoying yours as much as the pair I picked up.
Hey thanks for sharing. I totally get that. Sometimes it takes a few miles to figure out the best way to lace them up. I had a bit of a time figuring out the adios Pro 3 but once I did, I loved them. These are working well for me. I really like them for the longer, slow, easy run. Have a great day and thanks for sharing.
Amazing review Tim. I have V1 and It took some training to get used to them. Maybe the weigh of v1 has annoyed me a litte bit until I find the correct way to use them (long easy runs). Probably v2 are more versatile due to their lightness.
I really like them. I didn't have a chance to run in V1 but I have heard good things about them from runners who enjoy the tall stack height of soft foam especially in the heel. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.
Hey Joe. Thanks for sharing that. I hadn't looked at it from that perspective. Now that you mention it, I have noticed people looking back as I approached them. Have a great day.
Yes... I incorrectly stated that it had a TPU plate in them but it is in fact a Pbax plate. I corrected myself in a later video. Thanks for letting me know! I always want to give the best info I can. Have a great day.
Hey thanks I appreciate your comment. I like both but for different purposes. I like the Hoka Mach X for more of my speed work days and I like the NB SC Trainer V2 for my easy, recovery and long runs. Have a great day and stay safe.
Hi Tim, appreciate the thoughtful review. Please comment on the stability of the shoe as compared to the More V4 (a stable neutral shoe that works for me). Thanks
Hey David. The plate in the SC Trainer V2 definitely gives more stability to the shoe over the More V4. I enjoy both shoes a lot, but I'd take the SC Trainer V2 over the More V4. They give you more back from the midsole and make it easier for me to keep my legs turning over.
Hey Ian. Thanks a great question. Yes I think so. There are plenty of great daily trainers without plates but these are definitely coming on strong as companions to their race day counterparts. Have a great day.
Thanks a lot for sharing your great reviews on this shoe, Tim. I have been wondering how the SC Trainer V2 would feel woth lowered stack height of its midsole. So the cushioning is not the issue even with reduced midsole height, right? It is a good thing the SC trainer V2 is lighter than its original version. (I am still enjoying running in the original version, but I think it might be more comfortable for heel strikers with the original version of SC Trainer. Since I'm a midsole striker, I would love the V2 as you pointed out. 😅) Tim, have you run in Saucony Endorphin Pro3 as well? I believe it is another lightweight carbonplated cushioned shoes. (Much kighter than NB SC Trainer original version.) Again, thanks for sharing your awesome reviews, Tim! Have a great weekend and stay cool!
Hi Jean. Yes I do have the Endorphin Pro 3. They feel a little more firm to me that say the adios Pro 3, but they are still a great race day option. The are well cushioned and quick on foot. It's easy to get dialed into those faster paces and to maintain them. Have a great day.
Great video, thanks Tim. I have a pair of puma foreverrun arriving today but im already thinking of buying these 😅. What other running shoes would you compare these too and if you could go back and buy a different running shoe over these would you or would you still buy these? John
Hey John. I would definitely buy these again. I'm really enjoying the ride of these. My current training block put a heavy emphasis on recovery and easy runs, and these do a great job for me. I also really like both the Boston 12 and the Hoka Mach X as well.
logos are fine but the lettering is borderline obnoxious. I was able to grab the v1 on RW for a significant reduction, it's a bit heavy but I need to experience the monster stack for long run training
The v1 was weird.. Felt unnatural like they were changing the way I run. Also felt heavy. After a half marathon, had some knee pain I never felt before. Gave mine away
@@RunTall two runs so far and I didn't really like the first run but I think that was due to heat and very slow pace. last night at 8:30-9:00 it felt really good.
I haven’t had the opportunity to run in the Elite 2 to compare the two. I do like the SC trainer V2’s a lot. I don’t find them to be squishy at all. They are a nice bop along daily trainer. Have a great day!
That's a bit of a tough question. They are both great daily trainers. One is better suited for up tempo and speed days and the other I like for longer easy runs. I definitely do a shoe battle between the two of them. I want to put a few more miles in the Boston 12 first. Have a great day.
Good morning from 🇪🇸. Interesting review about the Nb SC trainer v2. I am 165cms/65kg, i like the Nb fuelcell propell v4. What do you think???. Here is my like.A nice weekend for everyone. 🌞🏃🌞
Hey Chris. I haven't had a chance to run in the Superblast yet. These are a really good daily trainer though. I'm really enjoying them. Have a great day.
Hey you know... Buying a shoe with your own money can still leave a lot of space for bias. You might have a soft spot for fuelcell or you might really prefer firmer midsoles - there are so many types of bias.
That's very true. I do like max cushion shoes so I do tend to lean towards shoes with a softer midsole. Good point. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.
You're only hoping for 300 miles from these shoes? That's not much. You should easily get 600 miles from running shoes these days don't you think? That's my experience with asics and hoka.
You are right. We should be able to get 500 or 600 miles in shoes that cost so much. I have been able to get a ton of miles in some running shoes but not all of them especially those with softer midsoles and carbon fiber plates. I'm hoping for more than 300 miles but I won't be surprised if I have to retire them around that mark. I am jacking up the miles pretty quickly in these already and so far so good. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.

Thanks Tim, not a big fan of the walking billboard branding on the shoe but will still try the wide version.
I totally get that. Have a great day and stay safe.

Might have trainer in the name but it’s not a daily trainer like the 1080. Don’t want anyone to get confused
but the 1080 feels dead compare to the SC trainer....but more money too !
Being a loud shoe is a plus for me. That way as I approach someone from behind, they can hopefully hear me even before I have to yell "on the left".
Hey Joe. Thanks for sharing that. I hadn't looked at it from that perspective. Now that you mention it, I have noticed people looking back as I approached them. Have a great day.
Thanks for the review, great job. You mentioned a carbon plate but Hoka calls it a "pbax" plate.

Tim do you think this new ‘ super trainer ‘ trend is normalising plated shoes as daily trainers ?
Hey Ian. Thanks a great question. Yes I think so. There are plenty of great daily trainers without plates but these are definitely coming on strong as companions to their race day counterparts. Have a great day.

I didnt like the V1, a bit firm and aggressive, plus I got black nail during the NY Half 2023 !
Thinking about getting these or the Superblasts for long runs.
I haven’t tried these yet. But I do know that the superblast is an awesome shoe
I haven't tried the Superblast yet but I keep hearing really good things about it. Have fun shoe shopping!
They just dropped here in Australia and they are $320
Hi Tim! I found the NB RC Elite 2 to be too soft for me. It was like trudging through mud. How does the SC Trainer 2 compare?
