    Michael Hutchence had the
“X factor” - INXS had some great songs:
    What You Need.
    Need You Tonight.
    Listen Like Theives.
    Never Tear Us Apart.
    New Sensation.
    Original Sin.
    Suicide Blonde.
    Devil Inside.
    Kick.
    Mystify.
    Disappear.
    Bitter Tears.
    Don’t Change.
INXS sold over 75 million records worldwide. Need you Tonight had success in USA too.

I'm from Sydney and to go to the pub and grow up watching these two bands (Jimmy's being Cold Chisel) just great memories. Love this song. The great Michael Hutchence was the singer of INXS he unfortunately has passed but they were for some years the biggest band in the world. Also in there is the great but also gone Chrissy Amphlett from another great Australian pub band The Divinyls. Also this song is from 1968 The Easybeats great Australian band ( Friday on my Mind fame) it's a Vanda and Young song think ACDC. And check out Stevie Wright's Evie parts 1,2 and 3 live at the Sydney Opera House Rocktober 1979 possibly Australia's greatest Rock song ever. Also Stevie was another gone to soon.

INXS (said "in excess") Michael Hutchence the lead singer was at this stage a star in his own right but its the model of music in Australia the young up and coming performers often collabed with the senior performers like this and there was this respect for performers and bands because it was so darn hard to make your mark on the world stage. Its not so prevalent these days as Australia is more connected to the rest of the world but the support is still there they still come together like a family. But these were truly the golden days of rock in Australia. By the way Jimmy Barnes played at my school formal when his band was called Blue Chisel and I saw INXS first concert tour performance all highlights in my life and remembered vividly. It is a pleasure to see you as a young American discovering the riches of Australian music. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I'm loving your reactions to our great Aussie singing legends. INXS lead singer Michael Huchence sadly died in 1997. There music is iconic.
Also Midnight Oil is another great Aussie band. 🙂👍

Hey my request. Amusing that you break into 'Living on a Prayer' considering Jimmy has performed this song with Bon Jovi. This particular performance was the closing song of a concert tour called 'Australian Made', which was INXS (In Excess) & Jimmy's attempt to prove to Australian promoters that our home grand talent could fill stadiums. It has a bit of that 'Family BBQ' appeal because it's a bit of a who's who of Australian music at the time. Joining them on stage were Chrissy Amphlett of the Divinyls, Chris Baily of The Saints, David McComb of The Triffids and Sean Kelly of The Models.
Song itself is a cover of a song originally performed by The Easybeats, Jimmy & INXS recorded it for the Lost Boys soundtrack. INXS themselves as far as I'm concerned, is the best band from here to make it big internationally. AC/DC were content to tread water and stick to their fomula, INXS evolved with every single album they released, and were never content to stick to a particular sound. There isn't really a day that goes by in my life where some INXS tunes don't get played
As for their lead singer (Michael Hutchence), well you've said Farnsey and Diesel could have any woman they wanted. Michael not only could, but did. He was a true rock god of a frontman, dripping in charisma the way others drip in sweat.
Don't worry about getting their name wrong (it's In Excess), when I first saw one of their posters on my cousins wall when i was 5 or 6, I thought it was pronounced Inks.

The biggest band in the world at one stage. I have seen them half a dozen times , they never disappointed. They are in my Top 3 of 5 Aussie bands. Wembley concert epitomises their great stage performance and crowd participation.

The lead singer of INXS is Michael Hutchence & he sadly passed away at the age of 37 in 1997. He was an absolute rock star in the worlds eyes from they way that he was performing on stage. He was one Aussie icon from the songs that he wrote.

I was at KGV oval Nipaluna (Hobart) watching this, first concert I ever went, and over 30 years later still the best. I was sitting on someone's shoulders (I was a lot lighter back then) and thinking this IS LIVING! Still got the 'good times' singlet - wore it to an 80s themed party a couple of years ago. This concert, in particular the perfromace of this song, had me hooked on lived music - still am! These days I photograph live music!

I was so heartbroken when the late great Michael died. I cherish that I got to see INXS with Ziggy Marley on August 28 1988 here in Cincinnati. You really need to react to some INXS, two of my fave of their songs are Kick and Mystify. I know you watched this because of your love of Jimmy, but glad it introduced you to them by way of him joining them at their show.

One thing I will always treasure is the last concert at the old Fishermans wharf on the Gold coast, Australia where even Nirvana and the violent femmes played, I went to. The band, INXS just before Michaels passing. Amazing but he kept inviting his mum to come. She lived in main beach, just up the road. One of my all time favourite artists and bands and he is missed.

Great memories of Barnsey touring New Zealand, 4 or 5 years in a row, in my early 20's over the summer holidays. Doing all the coastal town pubs, up and down the country. Sunburnt and pissed at the pub, after a day surfing, listening to Barnsey belting out Khe San. How good.

The shirt Jimmy is wearing is from a major tour in Australia called Australian Made back in 1986-87. I was at the Subiaco Oval concert and it was absolutely amazing. The line up consisted of Mental as Anything, I'm Talking, The Triffids, The Saints, Divinyls, Models, INXS and even Jimmy Barnes. All amazing Ozzie talent.

I am beyond excited for you to discover so much more of Jimmy Barnes and Cold Chisel - Khe Sahn, bow river, breakfast at sweethearts, flametrees, Saturday Night, standing on the outside… I could honestly go on for far too long.
Not to mention Cold Chisel guitarist Ian Moss and his song Tuckers Daughter…
And don’t even get me started on Paul Kelly - To her door.
    Noiseworks - take me back.
My man, you have only just scratched the surface of an entire rabbit hole of Aussie Legends!

INXS are my favourite Australian band and Michael Hutchence their lead singer was my first crush as a kid and my 4 older siblings took me to every concert with them growing up, unfortunately this concert wasn’t one of them but I have seen Jimmy live and INXS was my first ever concert and the feeling I got watching you react to this video is almost as good as how that 1st concert felt, thanks for another amazing reaction. Rest In Peace Michael Hutchence
