We Australians have been spoiled with talent over the years.. Looks like the world is catching up!!
Yeah, been saying the same a lot lately. With RUclips & reaction vids, folk from all over the planet are getting to hear & see kickass bands they've never had the pleasure of..
🇦🇺🤘🤘
totally!!
@@roxannlegg750 2 words.....Cold Chisel
Ah, we know, some others don't :) But yes, so many groups that have that greatness since the 60s.
Believe me, I've been following Australian bands since the 80's. I love Australian rock
I'm from Brazil and I have cds from several Australian bands:
INXS, Hunters & Collectors, Noiseworks, Hoodoo Gurus, Spy vs Spy, James Rayne, Midnight Oil, Gang Gajang, Crowded House, Diesel, Australian Crawl, Cold Chisel, AC / DC, The Angels, The Choirboys etc ... etc ...
I'm not the only one!
One of the reasons why concerts of this era and before were so great...not a bloody phone in site! These days it'd be 1000's of people staring at screens!
MIchael was like a magnet...you literally couldn't take your eyes off him when he was on stage...or on the screen... great band. When they first started a lot of people said he was trying to be a Mick Jagger knockoff... personally I never saw that... Michael just oozed an appeal that I haven't found in anyone else.
michael was more in the style of jim morrison - both had that sensuality that jagger never possessed
@@bodybalanceU2 Totally agree !
Straight bloke who paid $6 to see them at the Rules Club in Wagga c1982 says Michael is one the most charismatic people that have graced the stage. Objectively you have to say he was hot AF, leaving aside he could really sing!
@@nickmaguire4914 Totally agree...Saw them a fair few times whilst they were living in Perth back in the early early days.... Talented bunch of musicians for sure...the Fariss bros were blessed with great genes also !
I think Michael was better than Mick. Not that he would ever have tried to be anyone else, let alone him. Michael had so much more to him. Aside from his sex appeal. His talent was off the charts.
I was a 26 year old Aussie🇦🇺 living in the UK for 3 years at the time and went to this concert. It was absolutely amazing. Just walking into the venue the Vibe was so killer.
It was an afternoon evening concert, starting off with bands like.. Hothouse Flowers, Deborah Harry, Jesus Jones, Roachford, and Jellyfish. Then INXS took the stage and blew us all away. 56 now & still get off on this concert.
RIP Michael ❤️
You should check out some Roachford too!! Start with 'Only to be with you'. 👍👍 Very cool stuff😎
Didn’t they start in Perth as the Farris Bros ?
@@queenslander954 nah they formed in Sydney.Though the Farris bros spent their teenage yrs here in Perth.
I have their very first album, my fav song is we are the vegetables, also amazing to hear how Michaels voice improved over the years, so many great memories with this band
@@queenslander954 yep. They sure did
👍👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
These reactions highlight just how much American Audiences missed out on.
This right here. Give me a time machine with the option to go to one concert ever, and it would be this one. What a sensational live act. 10/10 absolutely unbeatable at their peak. Three brothers and a few school friends absolutely conquering the world, and having a ball doing it.
Yes, I would too
I'd go back just 12 years to River Plate (AC/DC) but this would definitely be next.
Omg yes, absolutely. I was only 16 and on the other side of the globe, in Arkansas. I’ve been a HUGE INXS fan since the 80’s, when I was just old enough to really start getting into bands, but w/o the type of parents willing to fly/drive me to Dallas or somewhere else relatively close, I missed out on seeing them w/Michael. I did see them in 2006 w/JD Fortune and it was still in my top 5 concerts ever! It wasn’t just Michael, these guys are real brothers/friends and have great chemistry together. They really come across as the type of guys I’d love to kick back and hang out with, aside from being great musicians.
That is living the dream, isn't it!
Most Australian groups are great live. They all started as "Pub" bands.
Yep... they all did their apprenticeships and earned their trade certificate.
@@firecrakka 100%
Yes pub bands...Inxs, cold Chisel, the angels, choir boys, the saints, Aussie crawl et al
So glad you got to see this!
Michael Hutchence was truly something special.
RIP Michael an absolute legend and true performer 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Aussies always keep this band alive, they a engrained in our hearts, minds and culture and right up there with our best.
The INXS album Listen like thieves is the best sounding Vinyl record ive heard.
He was probably the last 'real' Rockstar.
I actually was lucky enough to see them in San Diego in the mid 80's and met them backstage. I was in beauty school then and offered to do their hair if they would take me with them. Unfortunately Michael said their girlfriends wouldn't like that. He did say my hair looked cool. I said his was cooler. That was pretty much it. I cried when he died. So sad. I loved INXS.
Aussie Aussie Aussie 💜
Michael had the X Factor ... 💜
INXS One of the great Aussie bands RIP Michael. I still remember the day it come over the news of his passing.
Best frontman of all time and a helluva singer.
Reputedly the best live band of the 80s.
INXS was the first proper concert I went to in 1988. They were absolutely fantastic. It was so good to experience concerts without mobile phones because you could just be mesmerized by the performance instead of trying to record it.
He was born to be on stage. I was lucky to see them twice.
The Kick album was what moulded my taste in music.
I cannot describe how devastating his death was.
I was awakened by Shaboo Shabaa
INXS - The Loved One (Live) Wembley Stadium 1991... Worth a look. 😉
Inxs, Wembley should be the concert all artists aspire to. They were always brilliant live and I only wish I could have been there for this.
Had a ticket for this concert, but, as it was an all day gig and I didn't think much of the support acts, I sold it to a mate. Probably my biggest regret
To be at an INXS concert was an experience like no other - Michael Hutchence had an amazing stage presence that I have not seen since. He had the ability to make u feel like you were the only person in the room and he just oozed sex appeal.
I was lucky enough to be there that day. Awesome doesn't come close
In loving memory of Michael, still one of Australia’s best rock n roll male vocalist on the planet
INXS is one of the sexiest bands that’s ever existed! 🙌🏽
Greatest front man of any band ever
This man is a legend!!! I miss him!!!! Australia loves them
To an Aussie teen in the late 1980’s he defined the word sensual. And the music was pretty freaking good too!
I was one of those lucky teenagers to be graced by his presence at a concert in our small country town. He was enthralling to watch 😍✨🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
One!!! Of Australia's greatest ever produced bands!!!!
EVERY song on just about every album they had was just as good as this! Even better. The sound they had was well before their time. No one else compared. It was so unique & still sounds just as current as today! If only he was alive today. It would have been amazing to hear what they would have produced later on. Michael's stage presence was electrifying. Addictive & hypnotic. Always leaves you wanting more. We miss you Michael 💗
"He has so much stamina!" You aren't the only one who used to say that....am I right ladies?! :)
Can confirm - INXS was the best band in which to be an audience member.
You have to watch this whole concert - amazing! It stands up there with Live Aid, Queens Wembley concert, Glastonbury, Prince Purple Rain tour, U2 zooTV, Madonna Blonde Ambition, John Farnham and Cold Chisel, these are ones I’ve seen in my lifetime.
INXS great Aussie band in the 80/90s. Michael RIP 😥. Nick, glad you liked it… enjoy your journey of discovery of the great performers we grew up with in Aus.
Now we’re talkin’!!!! 💥💥💥 Michael was a beautiful force of nature, so very loved in Australia to this day.
Best band ever. Michael’s voice was unreal & the band was a very tight outfit. Such an awesome back catalogue of songs. I was lucky enough to see them live 5 times then once more after Michael passed. That whole Wembley gig is worth checking out, they were at their peak. Only would’ve been topped if they’d closed with Don’t Change.
When they first toured USA they out sold Michael Jackson's Thriller.
Michael's stage presence always reminded me a bit of Freddie Mercury. This clip is a good example of that.
When you get to INXS's song 'Origin Sin'. Make sure to read up on why it was banned on many US radio stations
Freddie Mercury was the showman - he commanded the audience
Michael connected with the audience
I first saw INXS in 1979 at Monash University. They were the support act for the Ramones. They then went on to be one of the biggest band in the world.
More Aussie legends. You could take any song from that whole concert and play it . We miss Michael, biggest loss ever 🥲
Another aussie band that rocks the world,
It's more than loved it it's a perpetual entertainment that lives on.
Is the quiet guy on the bass that was the musical genius of INXS
Bless you, for 'REBIRTHING' INXS. Love ya🌈❤️
Charismatic and sexy. Oh yes, and he could sing too. RIP Michael
Sick!! Pearl Jam Black MTV Unplugged is another classic!!
Loved your reaction! INXS, biggest band in the world, only rivaled by U2 at the time of Michael's passing. "Never Tear Us Apart" is another one of many great ones.
INXS (pronounced in excess) is one of my all time favourite bands. I met Michael Hutchins years ago when INXS were just getting popular. Found him to be quite a shy guy. Very nice and humble. RIP Michael
You need to watch the WHOLE Wimbley concert. One of the BEST I've ever watched. Music and musicians were phenomenal! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I bought the concert on RUclips just so I could watch it whenever I wanted. Which is quite often.
Great watching you having so much fun seeing INXS. RIP Michael. A lot of theories around the way he passed away, he passed away in his hotel room at the Ritz Carlton, Double Bay, Sydney. Way too young to have lost such incredible talent. 😢
He’s a beloved Aussie icon who can never be replaced, love you Michael 💖
About time!!!!! One of Australia's greatest ever bands!!!!!!!!
l enjoyed your reactions just as much as watching the song.
HELLO!!!!! Check out INXS and Jimmy Barnes covering "Good Times" live!!
The only thing better than GETTING this video/song is sharing it with folks who haven’t before… it’s beautiful
INXS and Powderfinger the best Australian bands of all time!
Play more of them another legend band from Australia!!!!!!!!it's the vegimite 😂😂😂😂
Fantastic reaction. Every song you choose from this performance will be absolute fire guaranteed. I was fortunate enough to see this tour back in the day and it left a permanent mark on me. INXS were huge back in the day and well known as one of the premier live acts of the time. For INXS fans, the loss of Michael still affects us. It brought a tear to my eye to hear you say he's been reborn. Please keep looking into them, both live and videos. For the next live performance I'd love to see you react to Original Sin or Suicide Blonde from this same show, or The Loved One live in 87 from Australia. You will be amazed.
Oohh yeah. INXS was the real deal. Rock On 🤘🇦🇺💜🔥
My favorite ever frontman and incase you didn't realise he was putting on a Pommy accent for the crowd 😂. He was separated from his little girl and only child Tiger-Lilly who was in England when he tragically died in Sydney. I can relate because there's no worse hurt than not seeing your child . Much love Michael X.
*By My Side* LIVE at Wembley !! The sound in that stadium...
I think this has to be, one of the most perfect concerts of all time. It rocks start to finish.
R.I.P Michael 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Not sure if you will ever read this but you MUST watch Vanessa Amorossi sing Hero at the opening ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympics - The last note she holds is OUTSTANDING
Don't Change - INXS. You really need to check that out.
That song holds a special place in the annals of 1980s Aussie music.
Not just a great INXS track but an icon 80s song.
So glad you loved 💕 it! INXS were fire 🔥 live. Their sound was unique a blend of techno, rock soul and funk. Thankyou so much for the rebirth on your channel. RIP Michael ❤️ Though his death was officially recorded as suicide it was as a direct result of a serious head injury caused when he was blind sucker punched while walking down the street with his girlfriend. He suffered greatly afterwards so tragic. Thanks again for your reaction it was all I hoped it would be and more!
Did not know about the sucker punch-damn! Love their music and still listen to it occasionally.
He passed Nov 22 1997 but yes he is reborn with every person discovering his awesome talent!
Subbed 🎧 💓 🎶
I was so fortunate to see them twice the first time with Jimmy Barnes then IN XS some time later.. they were magical!! 👍🇦🇺
Love Michael ❤great front man singer and awesome songwriter. The band was exceptional
The first live concert ever went to (as a 13 year old) - INXS 1985, Bruce stadium, Canberra. Brilliant live performers.
RIP Michael Hutchence. He was one of a kind.
One of the best bands ever! Michael had such presence, he was fantastic. Saw them live in concert, even though we had last row seats it was still fantastic. Never forgotten Michael. Nice to see you getting funky, loved it.
Love your reactions Nick, so much fun. R.I.P Michael.
Michael kisses Andrew Farris ,amazing songwriter, along with Michael they wrote songs which took them to the top back in the 80s AROUND the world!
Power Band from Aus !
They can " Entertain like Fire !"
One of My favourite from the 80's & 90's Rock On 🤘
He kissed his best friend Andrew, his HS friend that brought him into the group. They co wrote most INXS songs.
I saw the Kick album concert at the Sydney entertainment centre as a 16yr old in 1988. It was the best concert I've ever been to hands down (different type of concert to John farnham) until I saw pink. The moment of the INXS concert was never tear us apart and that pause, it went on for what seemed like minutes and the lights all went off. When the first note was played lights flashed on the stage and Michael's voice echoed around the venue. It was electrifying!
My first ever gig when I was 15 was INXS at the SECC in Glasgow, was just before INXS were massive, waited outside to meet the band, Michael and the bass player came out with some roadies and handed out some beers and thanked folks for coming. Yip I got my first beer from Michael hutchence 😊
That concert is one of the best live ones ever recorded! It still holds up 30yrs later. I was lucky enough to see them twice with Michael when I was a teenager - incredible band ❤️
Also one of only two huge rock stars in history who looked incredible in leather pants. Early Jim Morrison and Michael Hutchence.
Fantastic live band. Crazy good. The women would rock up for Michael, and their men would follow them in.
Aaww my sweetie Michael 😘
They were huge and his voice sounds so wild like he never ever felt anything but happy vibes
My favourite track from this concert is "New Sensation"...the band & the crowd so into it
💥 Well now you have to put your two wild men together: Jimmy Barnes and Michael Hutchence singing Good Times! I like the video version best.
The Wembley interview the band said that they took a pay cut to do the filming. Many TYs to them! It left them a lifetime legacy! I have it taped. Late one night cruising the TV choices the old Audience channel had this on. I missed the 80's raising babies, didn't have cable TV never watched MTV. Imagine my surprise when I so late in life discovered this group, and then I started watching the singer.... Best concert ever. What a remarkable timeless group of players! The musicality is insane. I went right now this rabbit hole, still there 💕
Yes actually 🎤🎶🤘👌
INXS slogged it out on the Aussie pub circuit for years before they made it big in Europe and the US. They were seasoned live performers when they hit the big time 😊 I never saw them live, and I regret it. Another excellent INXS song is Don't Change. It's considered an Aussie rock classic and other artists often cover it live.
Yeah mate....INXS are my favourite Aussie band...seen em a couple of times back in the 80's and at rehearsal studios in Sydney back then when I was rehearsing with bands etc.
Such a great band.
Jon Farriss is one of my favourite drummers and a big influence for me and to have a great chat with him and Tim Farriss at an aftershow gig at the Enmore theatre in Sydney when ToTo was here for the "Falling in Between" Tour in 2006 and him liking my snares I made for Simon Phillips was pinch me moments....nice down to earth blokes too.
Keep doing what your doing cause it's great 👍👍🔨🥁🇦🇺🦘
very underated drummer
first concert I ever went to, INXS (Listen like Thieves tour). I screamed my *lungs* out that night. My ears were ringing for three days...
My favourite band of all time!!!!
I was fortunate enough when i was 16 saved up my pocket money every week to buy my first concert ticket and INXS were my first live band i'd seen at the boondall entertainment centre in Brisbane Australia was the KICK album tour and was definitely kicking even had guitarist skate boarding on stage with ramps at each end. was 1 of the best concert even to date i've been to. Glad you enjoyed. kiss the dirt {falling down the mountain| is a good song to listen out for from INXS and 1 of my favs
RIP to one of the best frontmen of all time.
Thank you so much for doing these videos and helping younger people discover the genius of INXS (and Michael Hutchence). What I’ve always found super unique and interesting about them is that the melody is completely carried by Michael’s vocal without any instrument sharing the load. So he’s literally dining just over a beat/riff. Thank you again from a Gen X’er 😊
I'm so glad your finally getting into them one of Australia's greatest ever bands!!!!!
Yes he is reborn again here with you. I loved this. ❤️🖤❤ I seen them a few times, yes you would of loved them live.
You want to talk about Australia??one of Australia's greatest ever bands ever!!!!!!
Per capita we have been lucky with the singing talent we've produced. Most of them are entertainers and able to engage with the crowd too (At least those that started before the early 2000s). Probably because so many of them had to tour playing clubs, pubs and small venues for a long time and built themselves on vocal talent, versatility, and crowd engagement.
Wish I was 18 again miss it
You got that in one. They were an INCREDIBLE group.
great band. Michael owned the stage
Inxs- man what a band. RIP Michael. 🙏 you should watch the TV movie they made about them...so good.
INXS awesome my favourite band didn't get to see them live before Michael passed away but saw them when they had a new singer called J D Fortune,he won an MTV show called rock star inxs, check out their back catalogue great albums all of them. There is a very good tribute band in America called Kick The INXS Experience.
