Think you are now ready for Cold Chisel’s Bow River…live.
Yes please
Yep 100% agree there!!!
Best Chisel song.
Love that song
Ooh yes.
Bow River by cold chisel Ian Moss sang the main vocal ..... WOW !!
Bow River is my fave CC song 🎵 💗
@@lockyer114 I’m so with you on that tho it’s pretty hard to choose considering the amount of hits they had
Mossy has a superb voice - also one of the all time great guitarists to come out of Australia. Speaking of guitar GOATs and Australia, if you want to see someone do absolutely unspeakably dirty things to an acoustic, pick absolutely any Tommy Emmanuel video.
YES!
Absolutely
I will pay to see him do Tommy.
Tommy Emmanuel, now he is the GOAT.😁.
Now you can see why The Chisel was so great. Jimmy on lead vocal and Mossy on lead guitar backed by Diesel in live performances
Ian Moss with Chisel singing 'Bow River' is my all time fave Chisel song. This cover was good to see, as it's a totally different vibe.
Mossy is such a beautiful soul. One of the greatest guitarists to come out of this country. His voice is all soul, but the way he makes a guitar sing is just... uh. No words.
Thank you for doing this song.
Was so lucky to see Mossy in concert a few years ago now. After the show I went to a very small, quiet bar for an after show beer with a mate and who comes in 15 mins later but Mr Moss himself. Told him how great his show was and asked if I could buy him a beer. Short version of the story is he asked us to join him and we had a great hour or so yarning (talking) with him, he joined in a good old Aussie shout (buying equal rounds of beers) and was just the nicest, most humble and down to earth person you would ever meet. He is so often underrated as both a singer and guitarist when he is simply world-class at both and a wonderful guy to go with it. Check out the live version of Georgia on The Barking Spiders Live 1983 album by Cold Chisel...breathtaking!
Mate Ian Moss is one of Australia's best guitarist and is apart of Aussie rock band Cold Chisel, Check out Bow River.
Another brilliant Aussie guitarist is Tommy Emmanuel you gotta check him out playing Classical Gas
I could watch Tommy tune a guitar.
Tommy Emmanuel doesn't need to practice, his guitar does.
Tommy Emmanual, Classic Gas is insane!
"Tucker's Daughter" is a great Mossy song. Aussie icon
I have to say that we were very lucky growing up in a very rich musical period here in Oz. Yes there was an alternative musical universe for all countries I guess but it’s just a part of the Great Australian Songbook that we all floated on back then. Very happy you are seeing it, enjoy.
So lucky. And the older l get, the more l appreciate it.
The"Barking Spiders" live recording of this song is monumental. Moss is accompanied by piano, and of course shreds the lead guitar.
The Barking Spiders, man how I love that album.
Ian Moss (or Mossy as Aussies call him) is one of our finest guitarists and can totally sing up a storm! Glad you're discovering him. He wrote and sang one of Cold Chisel's best known songs, Bow River. He also had a very successful solo album called Matchbook in 1989.
I think the most perfectly matched voices EVER in any band would have to be Ian Moss and Jimmy Barnes. Living legends and national treasures, both of them ❤🇦🇺🎸🎹🎤
Agreed, glorious harmonies and glorious curls!
Australia's best guitar player and singer combined.
Bow River! Bow River! Bow River!
Love Mossy, he gets overshadowed by Barnesy's intensity, but he's a wicked good singer.
And if you want some good guitar playing, look up Tommy Emmanuel, another Aussie legend, he paints universes with his guitar.
Matchbook is a terrific album by Mossy. Tucker’s daughter and Telephone booth well worth listening to. My favourite album, just about played it to destruction lol
Was lucky enough to find myself at a party years ago and a guy was in the loungeroom playing guitar and singing... it was Ian Moss. #bestgigever
Bro! Mossie is a damn legend right up there with Barnsie.
Ian Moss has always had the best "backup" singer in history.
I love it when you wave your hanky! 😆. This was a lovely version by Moss.
Oh it's soooo cool to see someone react to Ian Moss, really. I think it's the first time I see a reaction about him. Love Cold Chisel and it's cool that Jimmy Barnes got international recognition, sure. But as far as Jimmy Barnes got impressive pipes I've always loved Ian Moss tone so much. Voice is a conveyor to me and Ian Moss conveys a lot. He can sing but it's so much about his tone, signature. It's a shame that this guy is kinda Australian's kept secret (aussies will tell me otherwise if I'm wrong). To tell you how much I'm found of his tone, he is the one that makes me love equally live version of song When the war is over performed by Cold Chisel than when it's sung by mighty incredible exceptional John Farnham. Guess it says a lot because Farnham is such an incredible great singer. + Ian Moss is a very good guitar player too, same a his singing : it's not about what you want to show off, it's about what you have to tell. Greetings from France.
Ian’s my fav of the two!
Well said! 😊
Our Mossy, is a talented guitarist, singer and composer, so of course he will make. it his own. He shared lead vocals in chisel with Barney’s. Watch some more Cold Chisel and look out for him.
Cold Chisel had both Ian Moss and Jimmy Barnes..Such a great band.
Ian Moss an Aussie treat.
Can't believe you did Mossy's version of Georgia!!!! Stoked! This is a longtime favourite of mine.
Jimmy and Mossy are a match made in heaven. Ian Moss is a magnificent guitarist and that voice is so recognisable , love him ❤️.
I agree with Kane about Tommy Emmanuel, watch him doing Classical Gas, mind blowing!
Gotta check out “bow river”
My fav guitarist of all time and a fine singer
Its great hearing your version before playing the video as a contrast. Ian Moss is such a class act, vocally and on the guitar.
He's my favourite Australian guitarist and he's one of the best vocalist Australia has ever been lucky to produce
Ian wrote the song ‘Janelle’ about a friend of mine. Never missed a performance in a Melbourne venue. We were a generation that grew up singing to John Farnham, partying with cold chisel, the angels, AC/DC and INXS , our heroines were Renee Geyer, Chrissy amphlett and Marcia Hines .
It’s rare to find an Aussie over 50 who can’t ‘Sang’ ( or at least think they can after a few drinks 😂)
Miss the good old days
I hear ya Jay Jay
Btw Janelle is one of my favourites!
I’m with you on that! The song Janelle is so ridiculously good to listen to.
Don Walker wrote the song. It is actually about Danielle who was a child at the time.
I love "Janelle"
Thank you! Glad you love Ian Moss. This has been one of my FAVorite songs since I was about 10. With Jimmy Barnes individual success following Cold Chisel, Ian Moss has always been under-appreciated. Whilst I love Jimmy Barnes too (and their voices worked so well together), Mossy has always been my favourite singer,!! And boy can you sing too… 😊
Definitely look at the 1983 live version!!!!!
Mossy as we know him here in OZ is an icon...I'll send ya his solo stuff too....Matchbox is a great diverse album with legendary LA studio legends like John Robinson, Michael Thompson, Neil Stubenhaus etc.
He's still on fire....touring atm with another Aussie legend Troy Cassar Daley....Troy's sooo deep with his voice and lyrics etc..."Tuckers Daughter" from memory was Ian's first single and its still played in my ute everyday.
I'll send the link
Find the live version of this song by Mountain Man. Very emotional and great singing. Greetings from Belgrade Serbia Europa.
Love Mossy. He has a fantastic voice, great guitarist, and we'll what can I say - Cold Chisel !!! 🇦🇺
I love you, I enjoy your reactions and Like your singing . I am an Aussie and I love going down memory lane with the music you react to and you obviously enjoy the songs as much as I do.peace and love,Gail
Saw Ian Moss live at a little club 10 years ago and I still get chills when I think about it. He was the lead guitarist for Jimmy Barnes when they both were in Cold Chisel. Bloody awesome aussie rock band. Legend!
Hoagy Carmichael wrote this song. His version is lovely too. He wrote so many beautiful songs for us to enjoy--such a gift
This is why Cold Chisel is so great. Two great vocalists sharing the singing, and all members writing songs, with Don Walker one of Australia's greatest ever songwriters. I'm suggesting you do "Just how many times" off Cold Chisel's self titled debut album. As for Georgia, Mossy changes the version just about every time he sings it.
Mosssyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!
Mossy❤
He’s a demon on the guitar! I see him once when he toured with Wendy Matthews
Between watching this wonderful reaction and seeing that some of the flame trees in town have blossomed - I'm add adding Mossy/Chisel doing Flame Trees.
I had really wanted to see Mossy at the Grafton jacaranda festival a couple weeks back, so I'm in a bit of a sulk over missing that.
Never mind, we're all upset about missing our live music events. Now another Covid scare.
Ian has always had the best voice in the band 💙
Mossy is the bomb!
Thanks for your positive attention to Australian music.
So glad you're enjoying Australian music. It's a whole alternative universe.
Mossy is too cool.
The man can sing and he can wail on the guitar.
Great to see him on an acoustic.
I always forget how amazing Ian Moss is, thanks for reminding me!
I just love the song Georgia
Yes Ian Moss has a great voice, 😊
So glad you recognise what is one of Australia's finest guitar player singer songwriters. Ian's 'Soul on West 53rd St' is a great record you would definitely appreciate, especially the players on it.
He is a musical genius in his own right
Remember they caught him doing this in Cold Chisel's last concert in the video called The Last Stand. Simple brilliant footage to catch. Have not heard him do the acoustic version before but good to see decades later he still has it all.
Yep that is 1 of greatest pieces of music video/audio ever.
ruclips.net/video/NhFXjzRRv4w/видео.html exquisite. And accidentally captured! Thankful for the presence of mind of that cameraman.
Mossy!!! 💖💖 I'm loving yr responses to Australia's finest!! Thankyou!!
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that if Cold Chisel were from lets say New Jersey. They would be in The Rock n Roll hall of fame now. They are that good. Two great but distinctive vocals with one possible having the greatest set of pipes ever. One of the greatest song writers, as well as every member of the band writing classic hit songs.
As musicians, all are at the top of their field. Even the extra musicians are the best.
They also played every style of music.
His live version with electric guitar is the ducks guts. Check it out on the Barking Spiders album which is in fact a Cold Chisel Chisel album.
Wow .iv seen him live with Jimmy Barnes and cold chisel but this is a new look at him Solo .Bloody brilliant!
Cold Chisel Live 1983 Ian Moss performs Georgia on My Mind is the one you need to do.
Mossy an absolute legend
Love Ian Moss 💖
I mean… The way he sings even the first word in the song is mindblowing! Ha ha ha.
Everybody loves it when he does this song, been doing it since early Cold Chisel days, maybe before. Haven't seen this one before, can't believe I missed it.
Saw Ian Moss do an acoustic show a couple of months ago ... extraordinary.
you really needed to do the live ver from the last stand concert it will give you the chills
Always loved Ian's voice, especially with Tucker's Daughter 🥰
It’s so great to see you enjoying the Australian sound I grew up with! We really did have it good down under back in the 80s. Check Ian right out. Thanks for this, his guitar skills are mind blowing and what a voice!
Ian Moss has my heart
I like the Lightning Bolt surfboard propped up behind Ian, as well as his performance, of course.
Hmmm Mmmmmmm Yes.
Don’t mean to jealous you all but last month had the vip experience in his Perth, Western Australia concert. He is a very generous and beautiful soul ❤
A Legend! I once worked as a bouncer at one of his shows in Melbourne (86 or 87). You have to check out - Cold Chisel - When The War Is Over [LIVE] if you haven't already.
He was in cold chisel with jimmy barnes. He sings some of their songs
Some?
You don't realise how many songs he sings until you see Chisel live.
Mossy probably sings half of their set. Maybe to give Jimmy a rest but he sings many of their songs.
@@spy7538 exactly so he sings some. Not all. Thanks for being agreeable 😊
His voice was such an excellent foil to Jimmy Barnes' voice in Cold Chisel - Listen to their version of "When the war is Over", and then listen to John Farnham's version - both are CLASSICS!
So much soul, I’m changing my name to Georgia ❤️
The live pub version from the 80s is the one.
Bow river!!!!
Saw Mossy live a few weeks ago at the NRL grand final, great entertainer.
Yes, I knew watching the cold chisel video with him and Barnes that he has a strong and amazing powerful voice, but he’s not all flash and fireworks like barnes . And I know that he didn’t make a huge impression on you though you thought he was good, because he didn’t comment in the video but you agreed with my comment that was complementing his talent. He is more sizzle compared to Barnes’ fire. He really takes his time with a song and gives it a lot of nuance and it builds up to a crescendo at the end.Though I don’t know if he does that here, but I could see him being the kind of singer who builds up slowly to a crescendo, a great climax toward the end of a song.
Check out his album Matchbook. From the his amazing singing, to the fantastic guitar playing. Simply wonderful.
Love this rendition. Aussies rule/
Diesel was very influenced by Ian i am sure of it.. If you listen to this you can hear Diesel through & through only Ian came long before Diesel.. Mossy is fantastic, very underrated because of Barnsey's voice but those who know appreciate both their voices..
Go Crows 👍🇦🇺
Wow, that was soulful, awesome!
I love his voice
'Mossy' brilliant in his own right!
I agree with Kane......as for Tommy Emmanuel, he is so good he now makes a living touring the world and teaching guitar students from the Conservatoriums how to play.......
This started when a classical guitar teacher took his students to see Tommy play...... he told them they would learn more in 5 minutes than he could ever teach them.
I love Jimmie as the front man, but my favourite Cold Chisel number is when Mossie took the leed and Jimmie did the back up vocals.
Saturday Night
I usually prefer the better live performances, but just this once the original promo video is the best.
The camera tells the story on the mean streets of Kings Cross, Sydney.
SATURDAY NIGHT...... you gotta watch it, and listen at full volume.
check out Cold Chisel ''breakfast at sweethearts'' or ''Saturday night''
You have heard mossy many times harmonizing with Jimmy Barnes in Coal Chisel he plays Lead Guitar and shares the lead vocals
Love mossy!! U r seriously on fire dude.
An original Barking Spider right there
Don’t stop at Vegemite!! Tim Tams, fairy bread, meat pies, pavlova, lamingtons and Milo! 🥰🥰
It is not his Basement Studio. The Basement was (not longer operating) a venue in Kings Cross Sydney.
Tucker's Daughter is his best!
Great rendition!! Loving “that soul” !! Niiiicceee!
Nice to hear you got your voice back, sounds smooth yourself.
"... and, and, those eyes - what they do?" You're awesome Nick
💗💗💗💗💗💗
You need to check out Billy Thorpe's somewhere over the rainbow (acoustic) ...amazing
My parents just the other week went and watched Ian Moss and Troy Cassar-Daley. They have written a song together called South about the Northern River area of New South Wales which is kinda cool. It’s a bit country though so I don’t know if it’s what you’re into 🤷🏼♀️
Oohh yeah that's the shit ,very nice man aswell
I guess I should play lottery today and play 333 since I'm the 333rd like..lol. I LOVE your reactions and the way you point out certain aspects of the singer's voice is awesome. Some people may not have ever heard or paid attention to certain runs or breaks in their voice or the overall tricks someone can do with their voice, untill your reactions and you point it out. You ARE AMAZING!! #THATSINGERREACTIONS
