  • My last ditch effort to perfect a solution with the Brake Buster, mixing it 50/50. Did P&S make a come back with me and remain in my arsenal? Or will it be thrown out for good?! Links below are to my Amazon store where you can purchase everything used in today's video, as well as a direct link to the P&S Brake Buster.

I’m not sure if anyone’s commented this before, but if you’re using it with a foam cannon instead of a foamer/sprayer, the power washer is further diluting the product because, well, you’re using a power washer, which is introducing more water into your mixture (this is why you might’ve noticed lower dilution ratios aren’t working for you). You’d need to calculate the proper dilution you want to get the desired Product Impact Ratio (PIR) depending on your power washer and foam cannon specs. If you’re using a 1:5 mix and your pressure washer is further diluting it 10x, you’ll end up with what is basically a 1.67% dilution (almost 1:60) instead of the desired 16.67%.
Now, if you don’t want to do all that or can’t find the info needed to properly calculate it, I’d say you’re better off using something like an IK Foam. That way the initial dilution is your final dilution, and you don’t have to worry about any additional water re-diluting your product and all the math that comes with that, while still getting a nice, thick foam, which is why I assume you like using the foam cannon.

I have several foam cannons so it’s just easier and more economical for me to use the foam cannon. I do plan however, to pick up an IK foam sprayer.

Adams wheel and tire cleaner is superior in my book. Browns better, and foams a lot better when brushing. Same price per gallon on Amazon right now- $35. Sonax is overpriced to me. I would use the rest of the P&S at 100% thru a foam cannon (on filthy wheels and tires anyway). Your diluting with the water coming thru the hose to the mixing head of the foam cannon anyway. You wanna flush your cannon with clean water afterwards too. Wheel and tire cleaner will eat the innards out of it if stored with solution in it. Learned that the hard way! Lol!

If you want the most bite use it straight in the foam cannon on a dry wheel & tire. For maintenance cleaning this is a great option. If you use it right you can easily get 4 wheels, tires & wheel wells & even the mats with the one foam cannon full. The foam cannon will dilute it slightly. Perfectly safe even at full strength. It’s only a ph of 10

I’ve started running 50/50 in my foam cannon and it’s significantly better. I may pick up an IK Foam sprayer for it.

If you use it straight in foam canon without water you have a PIR of approximately 10% depending on your pressure washer, foam canon and ...
If you use 1 to 4 parts water in spray bottle or foam pump sprayer you have a PIR of 20%.
So much better to use It in a sprayer. They are not intended to use in foam canon. Much to weak. Certainly for cleaning tires. Only works good with pure product. Or try with 1-1 in sprayer.
I don't understand the guy making the video complain...😅 As if he does not know/understand that a foam canon is very weak dilution. 😂
You can use foam canon to ad lubrification before contact wash
Also good thing to do with ph10 (or above) is to let it dwell on surface before contact wash.
Also USA always pre rince stuff.
We never do this in Europe.

I have been chasing the perfect mix of P&S myself. I ended up on 2:1 but I haven't been too focused on the way it works for the tires. I like the way it doesn't flash rust the rotors. I find it annoying when you use a wheel cleaner that rusts the rotors. That first drive gets that rust dust on the wheels, especially black wheels.

Same! I use 2:1 now, and this will still have a small amount of rust. I use Hyde’s Rustopper which completely keeps the rotors from doing that. I have a video on my channel about that product as well.

Usually you use brake and tire cleaner without diluting. By putting it in foam Canon you are already adding water. If you used a spray bottle there is no delusion. No water added.

Correct, it works pretty good as 50/50 now. If my wheels are really dirty, I spray it on dry. If it’s just a weekly wash then I rinse then spray. Always tweaking things.

You may not be getting browning if you use a solvent based or silicone tire dressing. Brake buster isn’t strong enough to break that stuff down. It’s a great maintenance wheel cleaner but if it’s been more than a couple weeks or you use a solvent based tire dressing choose something higher alkaline

Adams browns every time. I’m so torn, Adams or P&S? Decisions decisions

@@WheelswithMarty I would do a weekly or bi- weekly with p & s. It has anti-corrosive properties which are noticeable over time. Then maybe once a month or so when a deep clean is needed use adams or another similar product. Your brakes and suspension components will thank you if you only use caustic and/or corrosive products when needed

@@WheelswithMarty if you wash your wheels often you shouldn’t need anything stronger than brake buster. If it goes a long time without cleaning then yea bb won’t cut it

    • @alexbryan7641
      @alexbryan7641 3 месяца назад

@@WheelswithMarty that’s cuz it’s much more alkaline. Bb won’t cut through(dissolve the browning) like a stronger alkaline will. It will remove the dirt. Nothing else

Someone correct me if I'm wrong or even the content creator but if you read the bottle it doesn't say anything about diluting it in a foam cannon. I know detailer's do use it. And the accepted ratio is 1-5 or 1-3 And also doesn't most of the Browning on. Tires happen when the tire is new when the gasses and oils are coming up to the surface. That's when Browning Happens, so once that Browning starts to diminish you will have less and less.
    Each time you wash it..

The label doesn’t specify dilutions ratios. Most sites you buy it from however do mention the dilution ratios. I currently run it 50/50 and it works great.

Yea it’s more I believe per ounce but I think it works almost better. Brake buster is a great product, just think Adams is a tad better.
