Makeup round brush is game changer. I used the sharp point round shaped Carpro Foam applicator in past but the Small Round makeup was lightyears easier on my Pirelli 305's with the curb protection lip.
Here's what I found with Darkside. It looks amazing. It's probably my best looking tire dressing I've ever used. But… For some reason, whenever it rains, a lot of it goes away. At first I thought I didn't clean my tires good enough. So I tried it again with really good tire cleaner, same thing. I also put it on my new truck tires, it was kind of the same thing. It looks amazing. But once it rained. I would say about half of it goes away. I don't know what else I could do.
Some tires just absorb product a lot. May take a few applications to really stick it on. I would not go too crazy as it could sling off if you put too much on. Example, the SQ7 tires really need to be reapplied every time I wash it. My Lambo though, I reapply like every other wash or every 3rd wash.
Same experience with a similar product from Gyeon. I doubt very much that you've done anything wrong - rather - the manufacturers simply make false claims, which unfortunately is VERY common for detailing products
I've just done my tyres with Carpro Blackout but I'm wondering if I can use Darkside over it as a sacrificial layer much like you do with nano paint sealants.
For this application, I just keep reusing them. They won’t last long with this of tire application. For my other microfiber towels for drying and such, those I wash with a designated microfiber wash.
CarPro DS is definitely NOT the best tire dressing. It stays tacky and does not last more than 1 rainy day. Even in dry weather, you get a few days tops. I would argue that CG’s VRP is actually longer lasting, more effective and cheaper. Meguiars Hyper Dressing is probably even better. I reckon we all have opinions, though. 😉
I actually love the VRP. Probably the best bang for your buck. Darkside is expensive so it’s not very economical. It can stay tacky for a bit on certain tires. My lambo, is not tacky and I have not had to re-apply it yet. It’s been in rain and on the car for about 3-4 weeks. The SQ7 though, is still tacky for some reason and almost completely gone in the same time frame. I think your actual tires have a lot to do with the results honestly.

I actually think I saw a video on that. I can’t remember for sure
Do you throw away your microfiber applicators after using them? Or do you rinse them off and wash them?
