  • In this video, I share my experience with CarPro D.Quartz Nano Diamond Fusion Coating. CARPRO has taken the incredible DQUARTZ Professional created a formulation for use by automotive enthusiasts and weekend superstars. CARPRO even introduced a smoothing formula based on fluoropolymers which provides a satisfyingly slick touch once cured!
Whether it's for automobiles, home appliances, or most any metal surface, DQUARTZ GO delivers superior protection and reliably increases surface hardness. When it comes to home use, nothing protects your home and wallet better than DQUARTZ GO and a microfiber towel. No longer are strong chemicals needed to lift food or stains from surfaces. When coated with DQUARTZ GO, all you need is a damp microfiber to easily remove residue, spilled food, liquids, and more. DQUARTZ GO even prevents bacterial growth on most surfaces!

Like you brought up pushing the flash time. Sandro over at Car Craft did that with multiple Carpro coatings. Concluded the longer he pushed the flash time, the more do a darkening effect he was able to get with some/all of the coatings. I did the same with BC1 and it was still effortless leveling your coating. Thanks for the video!

Btw Brian, that Boost Blue '23 Civic Type-R you finished for me with your BC3, back in the beginning of Dec (Dec 5th or 6th), is still beading nicely. It only went through 1 automated touchless wash. It has been daily driven throughout the winter up to this point, and parked outside. The self cleaning abilities are also really nice. Snow buildup really slid off the car really easily, almost like the snow couldn't stick to the paintwork. The gloss is still looking great as well.

Great video Brian. I believe you when you say coatings can take up to 30 days to fully cure, as I experienced it first hand. I live in the salt belt and applied the coating in winter; 2 layers of D.Quartz, indoors, controlled environment, 72F, optimal temp, on a Tuesday evening. Drove in a snow storm on the same Sunday, after roughly 60h of cure time. Car was covered in road salt until I gave it a wash on the following Friday (a week after initial application) with CarPro Reset. The hood, roof and upper panels were beading nicely. However, the hatch area and lowers were sheeting and did not feel as slick. I did a chemical decon (iron and tar and mineral) to rule out any clogging, which improved slightly but nowhere near the hydrophobics you would expect from a new coating. Getting the coating wet after the recommended 48h is one thing. Road salt is a different animal. Second car, daily driver, different combo of C.Quartz UK topped with SiC, but applied in the summer, outside. Winter comes around, coating is a few months old at this point. Went a month and a half covered with road salt before I could wash it. After a thorough decon wash, hydrophobics were back like day 1. Conclusion: if you live in the salt belt, don't coat your car in the winter and if you have to, keep it in the garage for at least a week, maybe more, before exposing it to road salt.

I'd say another reason you can still review other products is quite simple. Other companies are still researching, still developing new technology. While you have confidence that you have an excellent product, and you stand by it, that doesn't mean you still can't learn. If we don't continue to advance our own knowledge then how are we to better ourselves?

  • @texfromro

I think a good idea with every coating(application) is to make a small section as a teat spot and once every couple of minutes wipe a little section of the spot till you find the moment when the coating is hard to wipe off. The hardened part of the test spot can be easily removed with a fresh application to reactivate the solvents. I do this every time even though I install Carpro products since 2012, because the ambient conditions are never the same, sometimes it might be hotter, sometimes a little colder, sometimes a little more humid and so on. If you want the thickest layer of coating you should live it on the surface as long as possible before wiping.

My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it".

Lacking importance… that was what I was looking for… thank you.
