I have a buddy that put these up in his garage, similar to how you did. He's had individual LEDs and entire segments go out, the plastic connectors crack and fail causing it to lose support and he had a couple connectors with evidence of arcing due to poor connection. He has tried to reinforce things with additional support and conduit clamps, but he also isn't satisfied with the poor light quality that is causing him eye strain. He is going to be replacing them with some dimmable CREE linear strip lighting.
Great for sales, not much else!! This is the environment that convinces most people as to why a service is $1,400+. Show up in a van tryna charge that and no one takes you seriously.
Awesome job on the expansion , I don't think most of your viewers can appreciate how tight a workspace you were in previously especially with the volume of work you produce, give Sissy a hug for me
It's definitely a lot of work but I believe in the end It's going to be worth it. It's going to be one sharp looking shop. And with the shop manager overlooking the entire job you can't go wrong!! 🐕
Shop looks great buddy. From experience of a retired guy, the grid LEDs are just for show. Great for sales. LEDs will fail in the first couple of months or last for a couple of years. I wired up the big 3 lighting in their buildings show rooms and paint rooms. Paint rooms used to use CHROMA kelvin lighting. It's about 5500 K. Times have changed and so did the code. Every building that designed for paint, detail or showroom inspection is a mixture of direct, indirect, task , work and general lighting with options to change Kelvin at a flip of a switch. Told you before that I could help even with the price of lighting. Much respect buddy
I think that the light pattern on the car would make me dizzy. The shop looks wonderful nice to see you getting a bigger shop of your own. Thanks Brian for all you do.
I'm thinking it might be more simply to tack up a quick pully system and just hoist them into place for installation. Using ropes would give you a little play to position nicely. Just a thought...great job and nice looking lights!
I would love to see what you figure out for permanent flooring in your shop. Just like lights, I feel it's tough to find comfort but easy to clean or something that will not break the bank. Concrete all day is just not friendly for some of us. Polished like you mentioned would be easier to clean in your case for sure. Your shop looks great. There is plenty of room for your product line supplies. 😀
Congrats on a new space and best of luck! I'm thinking about hexagons for my shop, so thanks for the video. 2 questions, don't get me wrong on the first one, why only 720p video, and where do you guys wash and prepare cars? Cheers from Serbia.
Truly appreciate an honest install and usage of these hex lights! Until now, I had yet to find such valuable information, thank you! PS, stunning shop update too!
Thank you for the video as I am shopping shop lights right now as I detail at home in my 20 X 20 garage. I’m currently shopping OG as quality of materials is a big part of my decision. Your shop is looking great!
Personality for lights I like 6500k lights in straight lines which make really helps with paint correction jobs, interiors I use milwaukee bar lights cordless to make the work area cleaner and wear a quality head band light and I've never had an issue with needing more light. If you have tall ceiling you'll Need to drop the lights as low as possible to get that brightness where you want it.
Looks really cool! Like you for correction I like a dark environment with stand lights. For coating I use diffused light panels made out of old 32in led TV's. They are perfect for showing up rainbow effects and sweating of a coat.😊 Love the video mate!
Hey Brian, shop is looking amazing. In your opinion, do you think it would work with a cable and pully system. The ability to raise and lower them might be helpful for different lighting needs. What I am thinking mostly tho is the ability and ease of cleaning them when lowered to the floor.
Great video Brian! As always! It looks like your shop is coming along very nicely. I've seen those hex lights before. But I'd prefer movable lighting on a tripods. Im sure they have to lot of light? Im very glad you are happy with them. Its nice to see a product review on the hex lights. Pretty cool Shop 😊! Always good to see everyone else. 😊
Hi Brian,Sweet Lighting but i must say in My opinion i like the lighting at your other shop better, seems to be more uniform and shows more detail to All the Great work that Apex Detail does 💪Awesome... 313
Hi Brian, great video! We are always excited to be reviewed by independents and though we would ordinarily not comment with more than a thank you, we feel compelled to answer some of your statements.. First and foremost, the comment regarding the quality of our product. We've been reviewed by far more technical standards, including engineers over at some of the country's top companies and have never encountered remarks such as those made during your video.. Quite frankly, based in your comments, one would have to assume that you have inspected and reviewed every other option out there. Regardless, our product is endorsed and installed in many respected and known corporations, some of which are 100% tech-based and we've always out performed any other option in the market. This includes every instance in which our product was reviewed and sampled against competitor versions of our product. We don't want to bring down the value of your video here, but as you took the time to call us out, we thought We should take the time to respond.
Lights look great. Nice having on a switch, if easy one was on switch just turn that one off when doing correction and use single source. Shop coming along nice
I have a bunch of them I wish you would have mentioned it. I can send you a few sets. I have different sizes.Let me know Brian I would love to donate to the channel.👊🏼
I’ve seen these more and more in RUclips detailer videos and I feel they are good for “pose value” but the intense lines of light might be distracting when you’re detailing. Just my opinion not based on any actual experience with them.
I think the light system looks great. Very professional looking. The more lighting, the better I think. Makes for a more inviting workplace. I think your shop is perfect. Lots of room. Is the office behind the front counter Sissys?
If you really want inviting, change the Lambo sign to the "Shop Manager's Cartoon/Caricature ...Everyone loves Dogs, but not everyone relates to Lambo's. And when one day she retires to the Rainbow Bridge, her image will always be watching the Shop.
For decorative purposes that add a nice touch to the shop they're fine. I find them very distracting when you're doing a demonstration on a hood. They actually work against what you're trying to show.
wow your not messing around with light power but those suck bright ok but dang glad u put in video so did sent back get money back bc lot money for reflection of the light it self
I was all hyped for this type of light as they look amazing on videos here and tiktok, but then I went to my supplier, who installed them, and I lost the interest, they, for me, are a gimmick just for the looks.
Personally I don't get it. The way they look cool over function it seems with these lights. If I needed proper lighting to do detailing, I wouldn't choose anything other than what Matt from OG has, there is no comparison.
For those of you that have this type of garage lighting....what are your thoughts?
tripod shop lights - set to about the same level as the hood, roof, doors - whatever gets the light spread across the painted surface & avoid shadows
I've think they are WAY over priced for what they are.

A true diamond level man card project ! Not once did I see you beak out the instructions ! BRAVO !!!

Nice to see the Shop Manager always willing to lend a paw.😁

Thanks for your honest opinion Brian. They definitely look sharp and light up the shop nicely . Shop looks great super happy for you and the crew.

Nice looking new shop, lights are fine . Thanks for sharing your installation of these lights
Now you just need a laser level to fix the picture frames on your wall 😂
Been bald headed since the age of 25. I’m 64 now👍
Really nice shop Brian. Coming together nicely. Wishing you all the best.
Another awesome video and product review good friend
Looks good Brian, you got a lot done in such a short time, congrats on the building.👍🏻
What a nice shop! Congratulations!
Sissy facial expressions are priceless 😂
Truly appreciate an honest install and usage of these hex lights! Until now, I had yet to find such valuable information, thank you! PS, stunning shop update too!

The Toyota Corolla Hatch is such a cute design. Now they just need to make it a warm hatch.
Congratulations Brian on the nice looking and spacious shop!
Shop is lookn fantastic good friend

Nice shop Brian’s! Congrats on your success!!!
Everything is looking great!
Looks good Brian! Wishing much success 🍀
They look cool, and certainly brighten it up, but I think that pattern reflecting on the cars would drive me nuts. Less nuts than darkness.
Looks great the shop is coming along great 👊🏼
Brian...shop interior & exterior looks great. Job well done and well deserved. Congrats!
How much lighting is it? Been thinking of putting them in my wifes hair salon for when the sun doesnt ahine in.
Well done 👍 The shop looks amazing Brian!
Thanks! It is slowly getting there.
What temp do u like of light when correcting?
How many amps are these lights pulling?

Thanks Brian for the review.. look good. ❤
Nice 911! Like the old style headlights!
The use of those 1x's was brilliant
What color temp did you get?

They look cool but that hexagon pattern reflection would drive me crazy.
VERY labor intensive for sure!
I wish I knew the name of my 4 foot LED's. That are top of the line that are incredible. I'll try to find those and post it later.
I kinda like it 🤔
The shop is looking good 😎👍
I am the same way the darker the better. One light on a panel at a time. I find it easier to find my imperfections
Nice the shop is looking good.
Looks straight from my house.
LoL. 16 Modelo's. I love it
Interested to hear your thoughts on this one.

Painful read!!!
Instagram lighting only.
You cannot beat defusers for workshops. Hard edged lighting is horrible for shadows and outlines.
Show Mgr needs her own room near lambo

IMO they are distracting to perform detail/polish work, I would rather have a giant soft box that size.....my $0.02
Nice one !
Enjoying the new content in the new shop.
