That's awful!
I wonder how many of those riders will NEVER go on another thrill ride.
I told myself 2 years ago to never go to another town carnival due to them only wanting profits and not caring. I'll keep that track record 😂
None of them, what a stupid comment
That wont stop them from rideing
People usually don't learn the lesson
Roller coasters are thrill rides but it's impossible to get stuck upside down
“More than 2 dozen.” “Almost 30.” Why is it so hard for news agencies to say an actual number?
And exact time
Not enough fingers & toes to use for counting!😊
And race. 😶🌫️
Cause boomers. No worries, once young people get old enough to take their jobs, the world will be a better place 🙂
Only if it's the cough then it will be the exact
Certainly scary, but at least the over the shoulder harnesses kept the riders safe.
They are just as safe as lap bars🤦
the harness type didn't change a thing

The real inversion therapy!
It's easy for people to brush this off as no big deal but 25-30 minutes is a LONG LONG time, especially when you're suspended in the air. Someone needs to be held accountable for this. Rides similar to this one have literally broken apart and killed people. Look it up!
Yes but this one LITERALLY did not kill anyone, in fact except for someone with a "pre-existing condition" (whatever it was) no one went to the hospital. Now if there is gross negligence that caused this then yeah someone needs to be held accountable, but if this was just some rare freak thing, then accidents happen, no one was hurt outside of being uncomfortable for half an hour, and everyone got to go home and have some social media bragging to do about how they were there and "I never thought I'd get to go home and hug my dad again"
@@Mike__B I get what you're saying but you were not suspended upside down for 30 min. Imagine you go on this ride with your kid and he freaks out and you're both upside down for 30 minutes. It's scary.
@@Coast2Coast88 freak accidents happen, it is a fact of life. Life is all about taking risks, we all take risks everyday without even thinking about it.
Is death the barometer for distress? @@Mike__B
@@Coast2Coast88 What if it was an accident that was no one's fault? What if the reason for this is a tiny piece of metal broke because there was some microscopic imperfection in the steel as it was being forged at a steel mill? Do you blame the amusement park for that? the ride company? hell even the steel company?
Look, I'm just saying find out the WHY first to make sure the reason something broke is because of some negligence whether that be lack of inspection or design choice before you suggest people need to lawyer up. Accidents happen sometimes, and there is a chance it is no one's fault, and that as a concept shouldn't be discarded until you know more.
I'm relieved that everyone on the ride ended up safe, and those two being interviewed after the ride-wow, they're very brave.
Being stuck upside down 100 feet in the air must’ve been terrifying and sickening. I’m just glad all the riders were okay.
A mind-boggling physics experiment.
This was no balancing error or coincidence. The ride cycle includes a brief pause in that position while rotating, and it's built into the swinging mechanisms. An error at exactly the wrong time resulted in this position lock-up. If not for that built-in holding mechanism, this would've returned to the loading position after swinging freely for about 15minutes.
The Feeling of being trapped upside down with no escape is enough to drive my anxiety and claustrophobia wild.

Prolonged inversion can result in blood pooling in the brain, potentially causing ruptured blood vessels and brain hemorrhages, and heart failure due to the heart's inability to manage the increased blood flow and maintain blood pressure.

all that blood rushing to your head probably fucking sucked. i can’t even handle the super loop coaster flat rides and it’s inversions.
I love roller coasters, but those super loop rides suck.
@@kazeryu17 HATE to agree. there’s a amusement park down here in galveston called pleasure pier and it’s super cute, small, affordable and offers a lot of rides but they DO have one of those super loops… it’s FUN at first but i HATE hanging upside down. the blood rushing to my head creates an IMMEDIATE headache. maybe i’ll ride it once every visit but more than that? fuck no. they’re just not worth it. they’re awesome!! especially to look at in a action but not to rise.
I was held upside down by my ankles by an abusive boyfriend once, I remember the blood in my brain felt like something was pressing onto the top of my skull. It was horrible. It is also a method of torture (that does not work, like all torture it just creates fear and animosity)in Guantanamo.
Never ever get on those rides. People with health issues could die from that.
And people without prior health issues could develope them (I'm thinking brain aneurysm).
I agree this should be banned
Me he subido alguna vez a algunos pero después nunca me subo a esos juegos me parecen peligroso
It's safe. This is one of the most rare things ever to happen. I study theme park rides and hope to pursue a career in them . This is very rare as I said earlier. It's okay to get on these rides. But I do understand some people don't find them as enjoyable as me so they don't ride them. But if you have health issues then you should NEVER get on a ride. They don't let you on them.
@@LMBcoastersthen you should know mobile rides (carnival rides) are not the same as fixed site rides (theme parks). constant installation and striking down highly increases the probability of a mistake or wear. not to mention that lack of oversight and regulation that comes from traveling through different county zones

EXACTLY why I don't do rides in amusement parks.

Okay lmao. You know driving is about x10 more dangerous? Nothing happened, got stuck upside down then they fixed the issue and got it down, what’s the problem?
@@RayDLXyeah but a person driving a very familiar vehicle (a car) has more experience with it and more control over it compared to a fair ride passenger (who is a few feet high while upside down) on a less familiar vehicle with little experience with it and no control over it.
Yes you're right about the car being more dangerous too. However, having THIS kind of incident on an unfamiliar vehicle (a fair ride) is more terrifying, because how unexpected it is. And there were children up there too.

this happened to me when i was a kid… was on a roller coaster that rolled upsidedown, but was stuck upside down for about 20 minutes. a bunch of other kids were stuck up there with me too. lots of kids crying
People from my school were there that day💀
It would be bad enough to be stuck but facing the ground is just terrifying.
Amusement park, carnival, and fair ride accidents happen way more than people think.
They really don't.
Those rides should have a manual override switch for when things like that happen so they could manually lower the ride and bring the people down.
That's the number one reason why I don't like being upside down. And you never know if the harness comes undone you're dead since your head first
Restraints will not fail on these rides. The locking mechanisms in place require multiple latches before the ride can even leave the station.
This ride here the restraints stayed in place. None of the riders fell out. That said, how this ride got fully inverted is what has my attention here since I wasn’t aware this particular flat ride went fully upside down.
The ride's cycle has a deliberate pause for a few seconds in this position programmed into it, and a holding brake in the fulcrum to keep it there. A fault at exactly the wrong time is what resulted in this. If not for that holding brake the gondola would've returned to the loading position after swinging freely for a while.
This ride works like an elevator, the brakes are engaged fully when the power is off, so when the power is on, you can control them for normal operation. Clearly the power went out at the worst possible moment!
That’s horrifying.
I was like and she was like and it was like

Thank God the seat harnesses held. Those rides should have a backup manual control in case of a failure like this.
Tell us that you didn’t listen to the report without telling us you didn’t listen to the report.

I remember visiting Oaks Park last year and I hadn’t been there in years. The Screaming Eagle was scary enough. Seeing the Atmosfear actually swing all the way around made my heart leap off of my chest. I couldn’t stomach going on that ride. It seems that gut feeling was right
Honestly I would have passed out probably. I'm sure all of them had migraines and headaches from it being upside down for like 20 minutes. I mean I don't know how high that is but that's terrifying
This reminds of an incident in the 80s at Six Flags Magic Mountain but without a happy ending. After 2 deaths on the ride Shockwave the ride was removed.
I got on Superman at 6 Flags once. You start out "Semi-Sitting" (knees slightly bent in an upright position). And then the ride brings you parallel to the ground (facing downwards) before leaving the station to advance you up the chain lift from below the track. One time, after being brung into the parallel position.. the ride got stuck and froze in position. We hung there parallel, for about 20 - 25 minutes before continuing on. It's kool for a second, but then, doesn't take long before that feeling of being strapped in tight.. feeling the weight of your body against the restraints.. and not having much wiggle room kicks in. It can induce Panic if you start to think too much and don't remain calm. Which then can then turn into a real problem. I can only imagine what these riders were going through.. stuck.. upside down.. 100 n something feet in the air! Smh. Glad everyone's ok!
There was a really bad accident in Britain a few years ago, a roller coaster smashed into another carriage, and the injuries people suffered were life changing, one girl lost a leg, way too many of these incidents are happening, the thought of hanging upside down for half an hour is awful.
Way too many? There are thousands upon thousands of theme parks. And many many rides. Accidents are pretty rare. More likely to die on your way to one than you are at one. Don’t be so dramatic
That was nearly a decade ago, and was operator error.
No amusement here
I’ve been on that ride a few times before and I always thought “what if it got stuck upside down” and turns out it did.
My Goodness, Glad Everyone is Alright
all right not alright
A thrill ride becomes a deep introspection on life
So people, this is how everyone living with cancer feels like every day ! They are scared for their life!
I would have been thinking “how long can this seat hold my weight like this?? and probably would of freaked out completely
We rode Falcons Fury at Busch Gardens a few weeks ago and right as the seats turned to face down we heard a thud and the ride stopped. We sat there facing down for maybe a minute or so when a voice told us to be patient they were checking out what was wrong. Those few minutes or so were terrifying just waiting for the ride to just drop, or thinking we’d be stuck 335 feet up in the Florida heat. It took about 2-3 minutes and they told us to hold on and then we went down. I cannot imagine being stuck up there like that for much longer. Needless to say, we will not ride that again.
Happy they’re okay… but did she say the only thing she could think was that she’d never hug her dad or brother again?
Yeah I was confused at first too, but I think she meant that while she was upside down, she thought she was going to die and would never get the chance to hug them again
Just remember, never trust the media about these things. For theme parks accidents, trust Coaster College or other channels
They didn't call it the "AtmosFEAR" for nothing
I stay away from pendulum rides for reasons like this smh
Regular pendulum rides will always return to their loading position. Even in a power failure, they'd swing freely for about 20minutes before coming to rest at the bottom. THESE rides however, with programmed pauses at the top, are geared to do so, and a fault/E-stop at exactly the wrong time results in this.
Incidents like these make the rides more scary.
SUCCESS!!
Just the fact they had no way to bring those people down manually or at least turn the ride so they were facing upwards is ridiculous. They should have had some manual analog mechanism or back up generator to get the ride to at least return the riders to the station or a position where a rescue crane could evacuate the ride.
Let's see people are quietly quitting and you trust some guy that hates his job to maintain a ride ... yeah no that's a hard pass.
Well, I think that was the tiny miny possibility of physics to let the ride stop exactly upside down.
As a ride op myself I am just wondering why it took them so long to get that thing going down again.
That must have been very , very frightening!…glad everyone is ok👍😘
Okay, but how does it even get stuck like that?!?
There's a holding brake in the swing mechanism for loading, and for this position. It's meant to very briefly pause like this and swing the other direction. But an error at just the wrong time causes things to lock and automatically E-stop. It wasn't a freak result of balancing, it was mechanically locked in that position. If not for the holding brake, it would've swung freely for a while before stopping in the loading position.
Don't want to get stuck like this? Don't ride attractions that pause at the top. This is why it's important to ALWAYS watch a ride cycle before you decide to get on for yourself.
them lawsuits looking mega joocy.
30 min must seem like eternity. Even 2 min would
If I had a nickel for every time a theme park incident happened while I was celebrating my birthday at a different theme park, I’d have 2 nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice, right?
First time it happened was last year. I was at Cedar Point when the Fury 325 crack happened and I was at Fun Spot Atlanta when this happened.
I would have went to the hospital anyways just to be sure. Because the park is liable if you have any injuries

The riders should all go talk to a lawyer.
Also immediately go get a full physical.

@@GDUBLU_FanPTSD, I certainly would! Serious health consequences can arise from being upside down for that long, too. Ever read the instructions on an inversion table?
This ride looks a LOT like the Crazanity ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Santa Clarita, CA. I rode on that ride about 5 years ago, and it is fun.
That’s crazy….
There maintenance can't check this ride it has to be checked by the people that made it. They make these rides so hard to take care of that no park people can ever check them out they are too complicated and are Hydraulic nightmares. It takes thousands to keep them running.
