Dont get me wrong...this is decent...but if you are enjoying your current wheel and tire cleaner....stick with it. :)
Apex Detail beautiful cars a caddy V and a C6 vette. I’m running very low on tire and wheel cleaner I will stick with griots wheel and rubber cleaner, my son is the wheel and tire guy and he gets good results.
Finally someone agrees with me!!! I was not impressed...to much hype
P&SBB is the first truly dedicated wheel & tire cleaner I've ever bought (aside from Westley's Bleche-Wite tire cleaner many years ago, man do I miss that stuff!). Have yet to try it on my wheels, but I did give it a shot on some grunge build-up in an area of my house at 1:2 ratio of P&SBB to water; worked surprisingly well.
What is your favorite wheel cleaner for forged aluminum rims? I feel like they require the most care when cleaning and I'm always looking to try new and safe wheel cleaners.
I like the non acid wheel cleaner from nanoskin. i feel its a better price and has better results.
I think Brake Buster is a really good maintenance wheel and tire cleaner. Sometimes a heavy duty iron remover wheel cleaner isn’t needed. I think you did a good job showing that.
For being a driveway detailer this is on my shelf. I keep my tires and wheels in good shape and this works well for me.
Again Brian thanks for your info :)
mrken66 You are welcome!
I am solutely agree, Brian. Brake Buster is my maintenance wheel and tire cleaner...I have other products for heavy duty/major cleaning (Adam's Tire and Rubber and Meguiar's Ultimate All Wheel Cleaner). But as long as the wheels and tires aren't completely trashed, this is a very good product to keep them clean on a regular basis.
Thanks for another great video. The more I watch, the more I want to watch. I appreciate unbiased opinions. 👍☮️
Staying with my superclean at different ratios for my wheels and tires.I stay with what works for me at a cost I am comfortable with paying. Everything now a days is hyped up so companies can sell their mediocre products. Brain THANK YOU for all you are doing for us mostly beginners.
Keep those excellent comparison coming, it's helping me make my mind when chosing a product.
I'm onto my second Gallon of this stuff and I love it. It cleans my wheel wells up perfectly not to mention wheels. The price is excellent value for money too.
Another visually factual video comparison Brian. I find your videos very informative on new products to filter out all the hype.
Apex Detail, I agree 100%! Thank you for all you do and your great vids. Keep them coming!
Best in depth review I have seen. I use Break Buster on well maintained cars and I like that I can clean the tires and wheels with one product. On heavy duty dirty wheels a product with iron remover would be a better choice, but then again you would need to use another product for the tires.
I agree it is a good product but not the end all be all of wheel/tire cleaners. Price 👍, made in USA 👍
Thanks Brian 👍✌️🇺🇸
That is exactly how I use Brake Buster as well. My cars are well-maintained, and I rarely need an aggressive wheel cleaner. Brake Buster and a couple of Speedmaster brushes keep my wheels, calipers, and tires flawless.

I made the switch not long ago to the P&S and i am glad i did because it does a great job at the minor dirt that my car gets and is cheaper than the ones i was using. If i were to go after really bad rims and tires i would probably try it and then go to stronger. Well worth the money in my opinion especially if you do not let them get extremely bad
Nanoskin Non Acid Wheel Cleaner works great for me. Great value as well. Its just $16 for a gallon on Amazon. And it dilutes 1:2 - 1:4.
Thanks for the review- I have a bottle waiting to try.
Awesome video comparison, thank you for your time and effort. Always appreciated 🙂👍
i just bought the P & S, going to try it out this week...my wheels are really trashed too...we'll see what happens, hoping for a good result. I will use it straight up and then next time diluted. Thanks for posting!
Subscribed. No pissing around with an intro or crap to extend the video or any of that crappy special effects and shots like RUclipsrs spend hours on doing. Straight into the content and what matters.
The video does speak for itself. Break Buster works well and is a good value.
If doing a wheel off, any non chlorinated brake cleaner spray should work for inside the fender hub. It will not rust out the rotors like a lot of wheel cleaners do. It will not harm painted calipers, but will harm anything that is powder coated.
I’ve also used it for the inside barrel of rims to get hardened brake dust off.
The outside of rims, there’s a bazillion choices.
I haven’t tried Brake Buster yet, so thank you so much for the video!
I stay ontop of my car, washing it once or twice a week, so P&S Brake Buster HAS replaced my other wheel cleaners, except for Auto-Fanatic foaming wheel cleaner because I still have 2, unopened quart bottles of it, like that as well but yes, it's VERY expensive but safe for your wheels AND you!!
I used it first in my IK 1.5 and now my Foam Pro2 and have settled on 4:1 for my maintenance washes. It cleans well for me and has the rotors rusting about 50% less, so I like that and imagine its safer for the associated parts around it as well. Finally price, another winner for me👍👍
Thanks Brian ... for another great comparison video 👍👍👍
Oh man Brian...that's some serious & sinister LS performance sitting there between those two. Wow... It must really be a treat to work on vehicles of that caliber so frequently.
I appreciate every day I get to work on these beauties.
Bryan, I use Poorboys wheel cleaner and I love how you just SPRAY ON AND RINSE OFF.no touch, its amazing.
I like Brake Buster for being non-acidic, does not rust rotors, and gentle cleaning. So for the correct tire or wheel it is all I can ask. For the rest, I pick and choose based upon the wheel and tire conditions.
Acidic cleans rust off
I bought a gallon of this stuff and mixed it 50/50 with water. I've been using meguiars hot rims wheel and tire cleaner for the past 2 or so years. That stuff did a pretty good job but didn't clean rubber as well as the wheels. This brake buster stuff when I sprayed it on didn't seem to change color much but I brushed the tires and wheels real quick and hosed them off. I haven't seen my wheels so clean and bright since I polished them several months ago. Really happy with it for a general use maintenance cleaner.
Well done, Brian! I appreciate the real world head-to-head almost scientific format. Great review video.
Nice review! Thank you for the A/B comparisons.
It is what I thought it was... thanks B!
Couple thoughts! My two cents that is…
P&S has this priced where it’s hard for me to justify many other cleaners. That’s not to say this is all I use or even that I think it’s the “Best” at any one thing. It’s solid for both Wheels & Tires which makes this one of two baseline wheel/tire cleaners I start off with depending on the situation. I always start off as least aggressive as I can and step up from there IF needed. Best value and a good starting point on well maintained cars ( wheels ). I also like the fact that whatever rust inhibitors it has actually work. I use this on my personal vehicle ( White Brake Calipers ) on a regular basis with good results. It foams great with a foamer and foams ( clings ) above average with just a regular sprayer. Seems like there’s a significant amount of lubrication in it which I like also.
I have found so many Wheel cleaners aren’t as good at cleaning tires and vise versa. I used to hate having to reach for two different products ( one for wheels and one for rubber ). It filled that gap in for me for the most part. Having said that… I still have and use other products based on the scenario. I’m not sure there is a “Silver Bullet” for wheels/tires as there will always be many variables and factors to consider.
Wheel / Tire cleaners happen to be the one product I seem to use the most of in terms of quantity. I’m sure some of that has to do with my heavy-handed spraying “technique” lol. Having said that …. at $20.99 per gallon ( retail ) or better yet $14.15 per gallon (my discount) I can’t see buying many others.
My top two (Non-Acid) products that do well on Wheels & Tires (caveat) … while being priced affordably are BrakeBuster and NanoSkin Non-Acid. Off the top of my head I either have currently or have used in the past: Eagle One - Mag/Chrome/All Wheel/Plasti-Coat/PVD, Meguiars - D1801/D140/D143, Chemical Guys- Diablo Gel, Griots, 303, Super Clean, Power Clean, Purple Power, Extra Tough and many more.
As always…. Thank you for the video! How about a QP ON durability update video ( maybe 2.0 )? Either way I look forward to whatever you decide to roll out next.
Take Care!
I prefer APC for those wheel wells, followed by d156 or dry n seal. Really gets the wheel well and the stuff housed in there so clean and fresh looking. Plus my APC are way cheaper and can be quite diluted. Great video tho! Love how in depth you get.
I’ve been waiting for this. Loved the new intro B. X
I just ordered this stuff. I have used megs wheel brightener for years. I hope this works decent especially in a foamer for me that would cut down on time. We shall see.
With ceramics on both my daily drivers I don’t need a dedicated wheel cleaner, but I bought a gallon and use this straight for tyre cleaning. You can’t beat it for the money, even out performs dedicated tyre cleaners I’ve used like the gyeon and adams
When I first tried it, I thought Auto Fanatic wheel cleaner was “ the” game changer. I’ll have to look again at my dilution ratios on value but using PS BB. On maintained wheels , with some agitation, at 5:1 in an IK foamier it worked great, the foam had a long dwell time in shaded heat in Maui. I agree with Brian, it’s not the end all. I still use some pretty heavy duty cleaners on especially harsh tires and wheels. Experience as always will dictate what product I think will get the job done at the quickest and most effective. Each product I use is like a golf club in my bag... sometimes I need the driver, sometimes the putter or a pitching wedge.
I stick with my Adams rubber and tire cleaner ✊Thanks for the product review 💎
another great comparison and product review good friend. b well good friend
Finishing up my Adams and already using Brake Buster for rims, switching to P&S for tires. I don’t dilute much. Maybe 3-1 (1 part water)
P&S also is supposed to have a rust inhibitor to help with rotor rust after cleaning. As you discussed
I find I like to use P&S for maintenance, but when I use say adams wheel cleaner that has an iron remover in it, I actually spray P&S (diluted 1:3 rn) on the rotors, caliper, and pad area to help with the rust. I've noticed with iron remover I've gotten rust on the rotors of course, but also at the top of the pad where the clip meets the caliper.
I think for a detailer such as yourself, you absolutely would not want to have this as your only wheel and tire cleaner. There are stronger cleaners out there that are going to allow you to clean the wheels faster and easier. I think Brake Buster is better suited to weekend warriors detailing their own vehicles on a regular basis, or if you have regular clients that take good care of their vehicles.
I'm a weekend warrior, I wash my vehicles every Saturday morning. For me, Brake Buster is perfect because my wheels and tires never get very dirty...and this is a more gentle maintenance cleaner that is safer for regular use (for me and for my wheels). I dilute it 5:1 in an IK Foamer. A quick scrub is all it takes to get them perfectly clean. At that dilution ratio, it is super economical.
How much different can you get from onecwheel cleaner to the next? Is there a different formula? Put them side-by-side and read the label
It's $00.17 an ounce for this vs $00.15 an ounce for meguiars hot rims (which is cheap but effective) at my local store, and this works better. Definitely choosing this
I would really like to see a video where you pick your favorite products in each category. Like waxes, sealants, APC, etc.
ditto that
ruclips.net/video/FkQcUa4CcNQ/видео.html
Thank You!!!
Will you post a comment on manufactures paint/clear coat hardness to soft. I’m wanting to pick up some panels to work with...
Great intro !!
Audi/VW tend to be hard and either GM tuxedo black or a black Infinity would be good vehicles to pull a soft panel off of.
I think it is a good product for a regular maintenance vehicle. I wouldn’t use it for a very rough and trashed vehicle. There are products stronger and more effective. I do like the fact you can use it on tires and wheels. I use it on my regular maintenance vehicle clients and I really like it.
This is what we've come to expect . no hype just good reliable info thanks Brian. I love my nano skin non acid wheel and tire cleaner. But may pick this up to play with. What about slickness p&s is known for?
I have both. If your asking does the wheel feel "slick" after cleaning with BB I couldn't tell you. LOl... Actually .... until now I never thought to check lol. I can tell you that I noticed considerable lubrication (slickness) while agitating with a small brush ( whatever that's worth ). Much more so than other cleaners I've used. NanoSkin Non Acid is stronger than BB and they are my top two. I generally start with BB and move up in aggression from there as needed. Love them both .... especially considering what they cost per gallon.
This may stir controversy but I use dawn free and clear on wheel wells and tires. Works pretty well, don't underestimate the power of soap and water. Super cheap too.
Brian you should review Rage wheel cleaner from superior via o'Reilly's auto parts I think you'll be impressed
I actually really dig this as an alternative to using an APC on tires (which is my current system). Been using Simple Green (diluted 4 or 5:1) and it works great, but being a degreaser, it is going to take some amount of your tire coating/treatment off (how much is hard to say but I imagine it would shorten the life of whatever you're using if only slightly). BB seems to do a great job but without removing as much of the coating. I usually treat my tires with Perl after cleaning and it'd be awesome to be able to clean a tire without having to recoat every time. And as you mention, it's nice and cheap so I'll definitely give it a go. 30 bucks (CDN) for 4-5 gallons of finished product is as cheap as damn near anything out there.
So I think you're all a little confused. I don't think anyone is claiming brake buster to be better at cleaning than other brands. It's a cheap product that is easy on your body, and cleans ANY wheel which takes the risk out of it with pros being able to use just one product. Are there better cleaners for this, absolutely, but this is a one stop shop cleaner that won't kill you over the course of 30 years
I am not confused...and dont care what others say. They do not work in my Shop. I am saying it is average....not bad...not incredible...average.
For best results with any brake/wheel cleaner is to apply it, allow to dwell, then agitate with a decent brush, then pressure wash. The P&S exceeds my expectation every time. I do all the suspension and steering components and it leaves it all looking like new. After it's all dried up, I hit with a hydrophobic spray and wipe it all down so it resists road grime making future clean up much easier.
Selling point of Brake buster: versatile (wheels/tires/wheel wells), good value, gel-like texture (stick to rims better), anti rust (some say rotors still rust after )
I will try after my bilberry wheel cleaner gallon is done, especially because of the gel texture ( i hate applying a wheel cleaner and most of it goes straight to the ground) and because it will replace also the degreaser i use to clean tire and wheel well.
Brake buster is amazing in a IK sprayer
P&S FOR THE WIN.... PRICE AND EFFECTIVE
I mean for it being non acid it still does pretty well compared to other acidic wheel and tire cleaners out their
I like AF’s better
Edit haha i bought the Adams from OG store but recently he switched to brake buster for wheels and tires as his preferred product.
You are so much more honest that Pan the Organizer, he praises everything that he tries just to make money when people go through links on his channel, you tell it like it is, keep doing what you do, honest reviews
68Camaro RS/SS He was never a professional detailer, he just does his own cars and friends and family, just like any of us do, he lives close to me and i know people that know him, he learned off of videos but people really believe what he says, how he got 300k subs is mind blowing,
Jup same with beadmaker pan was so like "omg the water repellency is unbelievable" luckily it isnt to expensive but compared to other spray sealants it us just poor water behaviour at best..
maybe the way he promotes the stuffs sound convincing enough for others to like him.
Wing man completely false. Pan is 10x half the “detailers” on thus app. Explains his subs clown
You sound like a baby, get back your your 88 Cavalier bum
Eagle one is great on tires also
I would like to know what wheel/brake cleaning product is the least destructive to concrete? My drive way is sealed with Aquapel by Laticrete a silane/siloxane based sealer. But cleaning wheels is messiest part of a washing a car and some products can etch and spall concrete.
Requesting for Auto Fanatic Wheel cleaner put to the Apex review
Man that ZR1 is beautiful
You should try a Worx Hydroshot for in the shop.
I like nanoskin non acid, excellent wheel and tire cleaner even removing silicone easily, many suds and lubrication. It is stronger than brake buster
Same here works really good and cheap.
It’s my go to as well - if I need stronger I hit it with Nano Speedy Brite - that generally solves the problem. I have a small bottle of the old skopl acid if push comes to shove, but very rarely need it.
James O'Brien yeah I like nanoskin because I change every week the dressing used so I want to strip it but brake buster is a good one also for that situation.
@James O'Brien Then why not dilute it a bit more? Less stronger and it last longer and cheaper
So you use a separate cleaner for tires, rims and brake pads? Last a protectant for the tires?
If so, what are your recommendations?
Nice review - I just got a "new" (preowned) 3 year old SUV. There is some light rusting on the rear rotors. It's a light rusting but really bothering me. I really need a DYI project that's not too involved. Do you believe P&S may help some with the rust agent?
I know this video is old but what stick's out to me most in this video is that if I look past the level of dirt, the side with p&s does actually look a bit more bright and silver. I'm obviously not sure but I suspect that it could be the rust inhibitor and we're just seeing a tiny tiny film of oxidation on the non p&s side.
What will it take to get you to do a 3D Super Wheel cleaner the same way? I like it. Another question is what is a good extractor for a decent price? I am over the bissell spot clean and it has to do with the extremely short hose. I have a 17 ram 1500 crew cab and that hose makes it a pain. Maybe some day I can get to work a day with you to learn a few more tricks.
Any recommendations for maintaining wheels, tire and engine area which are protected with a sealant. I'm thinking of diluting brake Buster for a gentler wash.
When your using P&S brake buster and you want to pour it in a spray bottle how much do you pour and do you add water??
Nanoskin non acid wheel cleaner works Great
I know this video is a year old but did you find out what tire shine your client was using?
BRIAN I know this is a older video but did you ever find out what tire dressing he used I like p s for the price you can't beat it with a stick an they say it's safe for matte wheels to what do you think about the matte wheels being safe
Those Tornador (however that's spelled) air guns always sound like they're ramping up to explode, lol
I have a 2020 Ram and it has painted wheels. I plan on hand washing this truck on a regular basis. Which wheel cleaner should I buy? I was thinking P & S may be worth it. I purchased a bottle of Meguires wheel cleaner but that only lasted 3 washings. I want something I can buy a gallon of and mix it to get many washes.
This might sound dumb but, i saw a video saying it will eat away at coatings if 1 is on the wheel. Is that true? Thanks
Brian what is your current wheel cleaner ? Do like the Nanoskin Cleaner Non Acid Wheel cleaner at 19:00 per gallon diluted at 4:1 seems like even better bargain and does it clean better ?
Brian, on today, I tried brake buster on my neighbor’s 5 series bmw. It took me 4 or more passes to clean each tire. Clearly this is a maintenance product and a waste of time for caked on brake dust and dirt. What would you recommend for the filthiest wheels, tires, and wheel wells. Thanks in advance for your suggestion!
Brian how would you compare the P&S brake Buster to Adams wheel cleaner??? I'm hearing that Adams is the better go.
Another detail channel i saw used brake buster diluted used as clay lube. Thoughts on that?
Did you ever find out what tire shine he used
Where can I find/buy that air gun? Which model is it as well? Thank you Brian.
Did you ever figure out what tire shine he used????
Honestly, seems like Superclean vs. the World. I’ve used a lot of products at this point and Superclean does this and more.
7:40 you sprayed P&S in the whole wheel well.
Do i need to dilute this? I bought the 16oz bottle with the spray.
How does p&s compare to meguiars non acid wheel cleaner?
Where did you get the air gun you used?
Does P&S have an iron removal in it?
Did you find out what kind of Tyre dressing was used 🤔
I will stick to Nanoskin non acid per your recommendation.
Sticking with adams. It is expensive, but I've been using it diluted 50/50 with DI water or even less for maintenance washes.
police_state ain’t doing yourself much of a favor sticking with Adams but to each their own
@@r3ktfahdle120 What do you recommend as a replacement? I haven't been following wheel cleaners too closely lately as I have a gallon of Adams and have been satisfied with the results.
police_state i maintain my cars weekly so brake buster just works for me. $20 a gallon you can’t really beat it. I like Adams but their stuff is really expensive and the company seems to be moving toward rebranding a lot of their new products. For caked on wheels I really like Meguiars all wheel cleaner, you can find it at any auto parts store
Would this work as paint decon?
So what tire dressing was that gentlemen using?
What type of blow gun is that? I like
When I first heard the tornado air gun in your shop it sounded like a Honda Civic driving by stuck in first gear.😂😂😂
What's this wheel cleaner you definitely have to use it at high potency meaning full-strength.
have you ever done a Brown Royal comparison?
Meguiars detailers wheel and tire is THE STUFF you can buy ready mixed 32oz bottles for like 12 13 bucks or dilutable gallons for around 40. Good stuff, and it actually cleans tires unlike lots of wheel and wheel and tire cleaners.
Isnt that extra tough not ultra tough?
Is this safe for plasti dipped wheels ?
I’m a weekend warrior and I love the product cause it does the job and is price is really good. If your running a business maybe not cause you want specialty chemicals for certain situations.
Can you review the P&S interior cleaner
I did that one quite a long time ago....all 3 products.
Thanks Brian what do you use for you wheels?
Jescar and Nanoskin Non Acid Wheel Cleaner
Have you made a video reviewing the blow guns you use?
Not on that one is a Griots garage Air Pulse Gun.
