The Zoo is a must do song next😂😂❤❤complete opposite of this one.❤😂
If you want to hear some Amazing Guitar incorporated into a Wonderful song, I recommend Drive Home by Steven Wilson, with Guthrie Govan on Ethereal Guitar! 👍🥰🎸
Mike in San Diego. 🌞🎸🚀🖖
Love your channel polo. I'd like to request The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again (Shepperton Studios 1978). Also, still waiting and hoping for a reaction to Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love. Thanks Polo and God Bless❤
Stumbled upon one of the better power love ballads of the time. Another good choice dude.
Scorpions had as bigs ended my main band favorite since I was about 9 years old. I ❤ Scorpions sooooooooooooooooooooooo dearly. Can't express enough😖
The way Klaus Meine reins in that vocal power and lets it loose when he needs to is such a great skill. He keeps you wanting more because you know he's going to hit you with "the note" that will blow your mind. Such a great vocalist.
Word 👏👏👏
So true. I love send me an angel the video is awesome.
@@Heartstrings_Skyla yes that's a great one also!
Amazingly he can still sing this good 💪🏽
Among the best ..... ever ...
One of my absolute favorites. The intensity is incredible from start to finish. It’s sexy and raw. The lyrics are simple and relatable to anyone who’s loved and lost.
Yes! You described this song perfectly. It's a favorite of mine, too. I was in my teens when I first heard this playing on the radio. I fell in love with it instantly! Awesome song.
Remember, kids: This was recorded waaaaay before AutoTune.
My 12 year old nephew enjoys this !
The pain and anguish in his voice over his lost love is so powerful. Another great oldie group. "Wind of change", was my favorite from the Scorpions.
The pain and anguish in my teenage body listening to this back in the day LOL, oh man the feels.
@@415s30 And the original Love at First Sting album cover had this teenage boy imagining all kinds of inappropriate things.
@@415s30 lol
The words to, Wind Of Change goose bumps.
The power ballad of all power ballads 👏👏👏🔥
This song still makes my 52 year old heart Soar!!!!!!
One of the most beautiful love songs.
When POLO listens to the whole track and only stops a few times...you know it's good. Hell, I've forgotten just how good this song was, as I was just a teenager when it came out. It's always nice to see someone else blown away by the music that shaped us. Peace, brother.
This song still holds up after all of these years. Simply amazing.
A similar "power ballad" I was recently reminded of is Bed of Roses by Bon Jovi. Similar vocal power, instrumentation... worth adding to the reaction list of it hasn't been done already.
The Scorpions are a German hard rock band formed in Hanover in 1965 by guitarist Rudolf Schenker.[3] The lineup from 1978 to 1992 was the most successful incarnation of the group, and included Klaus Meine (vocals), Rudolf Schenker (rhythm guitar), Matthias Jabs (lead guitar), Francis Buchholz (bass), and Herman Rarebell (drums). The band's only continuous member has been Schenker, although Meine has appeared on all of Scorpions' studio albums, while Jabs has been a consistent member since 1978, and bassist Paweł Mąciwoda and drummer Mikkey Dee have been in the band since 2003 and 2016 respectively.
Mikkey Dee has a great pedigree . He's played with King Diamond and Motorhead .
You left out Uli Jon Roth early to late 70's . He was the lead guitarist , song writer and sometimes singer . You CANNOT gloss over his contributions on their first Four albums .
Correct, but this was just a brief overview either way this band has always been fire 🤘@dennislinehan6548
@@dennislinehan6548 I think he may have played with Doro Pesch also , either in Warlock or right after

When copying and pasting from Wikipedia it is correct to indicate that it is a quote.
Now you know what a power ballad is.
Bon Jovi - Bed of Roses would be a good follow up to this.
It's an excellent band but this song excels beyond most others. Epic song, absolute classic.
Try when the smoke is going down too...
I've loved this song from the first time I ever heard it. I still believe it is one of the best songs ever.
Agreed, 💯 %
You are saying you are Still loving it?
The Scorpions have a lot of great tunes. They were underappreciated in my opinion. Amazing instrumentals, lyrics, and vocals.... Amazing band.
And fantastic reaction channel and constantly getting better. Keep it up Polo, you rock.
Animal magnetism...one of my favs from them.
I love the Scorpions!! Thanks for another great reaction video Polo! I recommend Wind of Change.. just a most beautiful song that is so important for the world.. I wish it was mandatory for the world to listen to it over loud speaker. Peace and love only.
No offense, but I vote nay on that one. It's a good song, but it's constantly requested, and it seems like it's often by people who just know the Scorpions from one or two songs that got constant radio play in a certain period, after they were a little more mainstream. Not saying that you're in that group, but... And let's face it, all the wonderful things the song's about, that people find so touching, none of that really panned out in the end, did it? Look at Russia today ;)
Everyone is welcome to their own opinions, of course, but though I like Winds of Change, I like any of these Scorpion tunes better: In Trance, Life's Like a River, Big City Nights, We'll Burn the Sky, Loving You Sunday Morning, Dynamite, Blackout, No One Like You, The Zoo, Holiday, When the Smoke is Going Down, Always Somewhere - and I'm sure a bunch of others I can't think of off the top of my head.
@@supertrexandroidx your opinion is just as valid as mine. I love the Scorpions and saw them live in 1984 and have loved their music from the beginning. 👍💯
@@supertrexandroidx
I firmly disagree. The Winds of Change got the airplay for a REASON. That Wall coming down was HUGE. You don’t have to like it but don’t diss the folks who do. Mmk?
"The Zoo!!!" And "Holiday!!!!" You will dig them both!!!
Holiday is so unique and just gets right into you. These guys had a singular sound. His voice control is fantastic.
The Scorps are underrated in the annals of Rock. They have many top shelf tunes, with this being one of the best. Klaus Meine vocals are incredible - have seen them live a handful of times and his vocals were ALWAYS tone perfect. He's probably a top 10 Rock vocalist of all time. The guitarist is Rudie Schenker.
Yeah, his vocals are always perfect. Great singer.
I don't think anyone who knows rock would underrate them, otherwise I agree.
Polo man, A million years ago in the 70s and all, I used to wonder how people (from the future) would feel about all of this music. Now well into the next century I got an articulate cat like your self confirming how cool these tunes are. Right on Polo.
I saw them at the US Festival in 1983. They just destroyed everyone else live. They are a machine !!!
I saw blow Iron Maiden off the stage. The Scorpions are extremely talented and well respected by their peers. They always put on a mind blowing rock and roll show.
During the 80s, only Queen were putting out a show to inch past the Scorps
The Scorpions and Klaus pretty much own the Power ballad in my opinion. They have a bunch of great tracks over a long career. Their most commercially successful tracks in the US are probably "Rock you Like a Hurricane" "No One Like You" "Wind of Change" (released when the Berlin Wall fell) "and "The Zoo"
Another great power ballad to check out would be "Send Me an Angel"
I'm personally a fan of "Holiday" and "Coming Home" as well.
I agree with you, , Holiday is maybe my favorite by this band. Love Drive is definitely my favorite album from them.
"The Zoo" is actually a rare slow-paced anthem, not a power ballad.
the Scorpions have a ton of great songs!
Discovered them when I was 16 and just got my licence. Remember driving to the lake each weekend blasting them the whole way. Binged them then and still love them now. This is such a beautiful, pleading and soulful song. So glad you loved it. ❤
They are so awesome live! My favorite is The Zoo. Most people will tell you Winds of Change, which is an amazing song about the Berlin wall coming down.
This is THE power ballad. The way this song builds is master class level stuff. It reminds us that even such a casual tempo can be heavy AF.
This will always be one of my very favorite songs ❤️
This is their best song along with No One Like you, IMO. The best power ballad ever.
It took six years to get this on an album because the producers didn't think it would sell!!! Fooled them!!!🎶🎼🎵🎹🎧🎤🥁🎸🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
One of the best Power Ballads ever! And probably the best Scorpions song ever. The vocals are absolutely amazing, and the way the guitar sets the vibe, along with the pace of this song. Man, this is incredible every time I hear it!
This was my college roommate’s favorite band, this song takes me right back to the dorm room we shared in the early eighties. She was into hair metal and I loved punk…we were friends for over twenty years despite our musical differences lol❤
A gal who loves the Scorps in her college years - sorry I missed you somehow! We could have been Loving You Sunday Morning for years!
Hey polo I saw scorpions for this tour with iron maiden opening for them was an amazing show I paid 15 dollars for the tickets so that tells you how long ago it was . The whole black out album is great !!
Thanks for this one, Mr. Polo. Scorpions still kill. (and you right....playing high energy rock at this tempo is a whole different mind-set) Merry Christmas.
That killer guitarist wrote the song!! 🎶🎼🎵🎸🎸🎸🎤🥁🎧🎹🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘💜
Scorpions are amazing 👏 one of my favorite bands.
You're in for a treat. Nobody does power ballads better than the Scorpions. Check out also:
When the Smoke is Going Down
Send me an Angel
Lady Starlight
There are a number of bangers too:
Rock You Like a Hurricane
No One Like You
Make it Real (Not Fantasy)
And many more
Great power ballad from this German hard rock band. 'Winds of change' is another classic track from them.
Yes, but their best song is No One Like You.
Never cared for Winds of Change. It just didn't feel like it fit in with the rest of their stuff. Rock You Like A Hurricane, Big City Nights, and so many others. WoC always felt out of place to me. I don't pull out music like Scorpions hoping to hear a political ballad. I'm obviously in the minority in my opinion, but I'm fine with that. I'll stick with the portion of their catalog that is Rockers and Ballads.
Great choice Polo! I Loved this song (and others of theirs) since the 80 and it still gives me the chills like I'm hearing for the first time.
Love the scorpions since the 80’s ❤
Thanks for sharing.
Merry Christmas!
Rock You Like a Hurricane
He makes that guitar cry...
i still like the scorpion's bangers....like Blackout !!!
what a craxy great song.
Wind of change, is a must listen
One of my favorite bands as a kid
If you like the guitar in the Scorpions....listen to their song "Holiday". Good stuff!
Yes with coast to coast
Scorpions..Wind of Change is another must listen...
Scorpions are one of the best, but most under appreciated rock bands out there. They are perfect in the studio and more than perfect live. The sheer number of quality tracks from them is a testament to their talents.
I wanna talk to you
Merry Christmas!! Old school!! One of my first concerts while in high school. Takes me back💕💕💕💕 Rock on!!!
Animal Magnetism, Thee Zoo, China White, Sails of Charon are a very small sample of a great band. Loved them since the early 70’s
Sails of Charon. Live.
The Zoo is damn good
Matthias Jabs (lead guitar) is one of the most underrated guitar players in hard rock... I'd seen him perform w/ the Scorpions in concert and he was exceptional 🔥🔥🤘🤘He joined the Scorpions in 1979 until today and made the band massively popular w/ Rudolf Schenker (guitar) and Klaus Meine (vocals)... who founded the Scorpions.
But somehow, fans seem to recognize Scorpions previous guitarists more - Michael Schenker (Rudolf's younger brother) who became a guitar hero in the 70's and 80's w/ the bands U.F.O. and M.S.G. (Michael Schenker Group)... & Ulrich Roth (now Uli Jon Roth) who played w/ the Scorpions until 1978... both phenomenal guitarists who are still active today.
No one can play this song nearly as incredibly as this!
You have barely touched the surface, of what the Scorpions, have in store for you, my friend🤘🙏
Listen to...
Blackout
No One Like You
Passion Rules the Game
Great Scorps tune! Playlist material
The Scorpions album Animal Magnetism has some great songs "The Zoo" "Falling in Love" and "Animal Magnetism " are just a few.
This song was SOOOO big back in the day.
Saw them June, 20th 1991 at the Forum in Los Angles. The whole stage slowly turned into a giant metal scorpin by the end of the concert, like a transformer, with added pyrotechnics.
I was sitting a few rows from the stage slightly off to a side, and the amps where stacked nearly next to me, and I went tone deaf after the first song.
My hearing came back after about 2 weeks but has never been quite as good as it was before that concert.
A guy sitting in front of me had long hair and was head banging the whole concert, and his hair kept hitting me.
I would strongly suggest using earplugs if you go see an exceptionaly loud band like this.
Badass story and great advice too 😆 I've left many shows with messed up hearing
Saw these guys twice in the 80s. You should check out 'Wind of Change'.
One of my favorite songs of all time. The Ultimate Power Ballad
SCHENKER,Amazing Guitarist.
The loss he feels is palpable why did he let her go? This I feel every time I hear this song I let my love go long ago and it kills me.
I've always assumed there was some cheating going on which is why he wants to "earn" her trust back.
Oh man, I was really hoping this was the video of them performing this on stage
IMO one of the 2 greatest Power Ballads all time along with Faithfully by Journey.
Your comment about "slow tempo' but still high energy and how it's awesome when done well but most cannot pull it off - same thing to be said of Purple Rain by Prince.
Merry Christmas, my dude. Thanks for another banger of a reaction.
Saw them in ‘88. Amazing live.
Love you're reaction to this timeless classic. This is one of my favorite songs by the Scorpions.
I think he'll like their "Angel" song very much too.
Best Scorpions ballad and outro solo: Lady Starlight.
I prefer "Holiday" myself. It is my favorite Scorpions song followed by "Still Loving You".
One of my all time favorite live bands! Awesome concerts
The Zoo by The Scorpions is a banger.
Scorpions have a lot of great metal yes metal songs that will blow you away.
The last two mins..of the guitar....volume up loud....catches the EMOTION.......WOW
Merry Christmas and you're doing a great job so no apologies needed.
This song is beautifully haunting
i have been separated for about 5 months from my wife now, this song hits so close to home atm
One of the most beautiful pieces written in its time...
Yup, 'Chills', that's exactly what this does especially the guitar at the end.
I saw these guys in France in ‘96. A German group, singing in English, in a concert in France. Awesome experience.
I wanna talk to you
By far the most famous and successful rock ‘n’ roll band ever to come out Germany. Saw them live just last year they’re old guys and they’re still fantastic!
One of the greatest songs ever written and sung.
The bands in this genre and era were true artists and musicians. Just so talented.
I love seeing your reactions to stuff I grew up with. Saw Scorpions in '88 during the Monsters of Rock tour with Dokken, Kingdom Come, Metallica, and Van Halen at the Akron Rubber Bowl.... still have the t-shirt!! It was so damn hot the Akron FD was set up all around the stadium alternately spraying down the crowd with fire hoses.
Was at that show as well! Great show! One helluva hot day! Metallica’s And Justice For All had just been released and they were starting to have their first real radio airplay and commercial success. The early/diehard Metallica fans were out in force that day. I still recall Lars reaction to the crowd taking over the vocals for Am I Evil and him standing up over his kit and screaming “F’n A, F’n A!!!” If I remember correctly they announced at the show they just gotten word about the album having gone gold.
Also saw them in June ‘84 for the Love at First Sting Tour in Columbus Convention Center (Columbus, OH) and some band named Bon Jovi opened up for them. Only recognized one song from the radio “Runaway” but saw them again in ‘86 or maybe it was ‘87 as a headliner with Cinderalla for the Slippery When Wet tour at Buckeye Lake Music Center (formerly Legend Valley) in front of an at the time record setting crowd of 50,000+. Going back to that Scorpions show, I was just shy of 14, and I was higher on music energy that night than any drug could ever possibly take you. That was an unforgettable experience such a great high energy performance, they left it all on the stage that night. Amazing!
Awesome reaction! This is an amazing song 🤩
My favorite Scorpions song !
❤❤❤❤❤
Got to see them 2x !
4:20 - The genre was literally called "Power Ballad!" You nailed it!
Great vocal, great melody, great ballad, once in a generation.
A six thousand pound Cadillac rolling own the road at 20 mph with four flat tires. That is what the power and drive feels like.
One of the best german Bands of all time. Love them forever....
Great reaction. Now you're going have to react to Wind of Change.
I've been to more concernts than I can count in my 57 years of life but hands down Scorpions had the best sound ever.. They sound the same in concert as their produced album. Unbelievable!
Try WInds of Change by The Scorpions, as well. There's a (probably false) story that it was written by the CIA as a tool in breaking down the Iron Curtain. Also a great podcast exploring that.
There's a great podcast about the story. Klaus Meine has repeatedly denied it but it's a documented fact that the CIA had done similar things before that so...who knows.
@PoloReacts it would be so wonderful to see you react to Scorpions “Winds of Change.“ it’s about the following of the Berlin wall and their first concert in Russia, the former Soviet union.
My favorite!
One more thing, this old rock rabbit hole you fell in is bottomless, you gonna love it
Yes, Polo is just tipping the scale. There's so much more to listen to.
Polo has discovered the "Power Ballad". What do you say we send him down the rabbit hole? My suggestion is Poison - Every Rose Has Its Thorn.
This is THE sexiest hard rock song ever!
Try another power ballad from them that kicks ass and kicks off with a bang, No One Like You, and hold on to your seatbelt when you get to the solo. A lot of harmony lead guitar parts which has always just sent chills down my spine and is what made me first to learn how to play guitar. Rudolph “Rudy” Schenker, founding member and rhythm guitarist, and Matthias Jabs on lead guitar on this song and also for Still Loving You.
Very good song. STILL holds up after all these years!
I am transported for a brief moment to my teens. I LOVE this song
SCORPIONS!!!!! I love the power they bring, the way this song builds is incredible! I think it is cheating that you have the lyrics to read while listening for the first time. I had no clue what he was singing for the first dozen times hearing this on the radio! And, there was no internet to look them up. Everyone got them wrong.... lol
The Scorpions are my ALL TIME FAVORITE band, they really are the Ultimate Rock Act.
Their live performance's just can't be beat, they even sound better on stage they sure can rock the house.
Please take a Deep Dive into their Realm, you will not regret one second of it!
Cool, if they are your favorite all time band, then I know I can count on you to request something besides Winds of Change. ;)
@@supertrexandroidx
Sure, how about - We'll Burn The Sky which was a song written by Monika Dannemann who was the last known Girlfriend of Jimmi Hendrix when he died. It is a song she wrote about their love together. At the time of writing it she was dating Uli Jon Roth the Great Guitarist of early Scorpions. On ocassion he will stil play a venue or two as they've all remained close friends!
Amother great song would be - In Trance from the same early on Scorpions.
Haven't heard that in years and it still gives me chills.
Scorpions are a great band. 80s they came to America and made more "pop" centered arena rock ballads. But in the 70s they were on some experimental jazzy rock. Every musician is extremely talented. The song lonesome Crow has a very old type of vibe from them. But I enjoy it. Not a lot of people give older scorpions their props. They typically share and show people all the 80s more pop stuff. Which is good in its own right. But the lonesome Crow song and that whole album gives off a jazzy pink Floyd vibe. Definitely more my speed of scorpions.
We’ll burn the sky
This song is powerful, everything about it is
Chills and tears from me. I didnt listen to The Scorpions back in the day but im in my 60's and rediscovering older music and loving it. In the case of The Scorpions, discovering! Polo, you sound great. I enjoy your laid back calm demeanor. I too, find it difficult to record etc. But you're doing very well.
