As a German who grew up with Scorpions, I have to say they did everything right...the lyrics and they just sound amazing...great German rock...and they're legendary too...thanks to you for keep it alive
Back in the day my sixteen year old daughter and her best friend went to see the Scorpions. During the show, one of their people invited them backstage after the show. Okay, so they go back to meet the band...with my daughter's father! He wouldn't let them go to the concert alone, much less meet the band backstage. I'm sure it's not what the band expected. Anyway, they were very nice and took all three of them out to dinner!
The fact that we expect them to say "i'm loving you" after the second chrous but they dont and the third chorus starts with "if we go again" is such a perfect constrution and build up for the end. It's really perfection.
There isn’t much that makes me smile these days, but this reaction did! I love watching you both. So enthusiastic. So genuine ❤️ I found your channel at the beginning of December and have loved watching your numbers grow!
The ULTIMATE POWER BALLAD!! Doesn't get much better than this. The emotion behind the music and vocals is incredible - and the building dynamics - perfection!
Never got into the Scorpions much at the time, but this is one of the top 5 songs of the 80s, period. Phenomenal song, incredible execution . A timeless classic. Someone will play this in 2080 and people will be blown away
This reaction was priceless! I knew you would lose it after the guitar solo when he was going to hit you with a few more 'I'm still lovin' yous and whoooahs! I just knew you thought it was ending! Rotflol! Guys? Can you stand our music? Pick your hearts up off the floor! Scorpions, Germany! Phenomenal! All of our bands, distinct in their own sound and couldn't compare to each other! All great and all just blew us away! And still do! You And I, Believe In Love, No One Like You, Rock Me Like A Hurricane, Holiday, Send Me An Angel, Big City Nights, I Can't Explain, The Zoo, Rhythm Of Love
Alot of people thought the Scorpions were just another 80's hair band , but they hav been rockin' it since the late 60's early 70's, Rock you like a Hurricane is my favorite and they were the last band I saw in concert, Queensryche opened up for them.
In my social circle, I know many trivia buffs and music afficianados, and we often bandy about questions or challenges such as "What is the best power ballad of all time?" & I always choose this song. I like to say it's because when listening to it, you feel as if even the *guitar* has lost its lover and is plaintively calling for forgiveness and reconciliation. Amazing.
All five members of the band perform on this recording, but the song was written by Klaus Meine, the lead singer, and Rudolf Schenker, the lead guitarist. Another great song from the same album is "Rock You Like a Hurricane". You really need to hear that one!
@@LordRahl1975 Agreed, and thank you for pointing that out. In my comment I was referring specifically to the credits Schenker is given on this song, co-writer and lead guitarist.
@@jonm1114 fair point. On this song specifically he did share lead guitar. I think it is arguably the best rock ballad made. They have so many good songs.
Rudolf Schenker occasionally plays lead guitar. You can hear his work on songs like Lady Starlight, Animal Magnetism, Always Somewhere, When The Smoke Is Going Down, Big City Nights, As Soon As The Good Times Roll, Still Loving You, Wind Of Change, Send Me An Angel. Rudolf may not be the most technical shredder on the planet but the man has written most of the band's great songs. He knows what sounds good and he always puts the magic touch on the music. I think he's an underrated guitar player.
I recently found this song and this incredible band. I think I may have heard it before but it doesn't matter, THEY ARE TOTALLY FINE!!!!!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Dudes. glad you're loving this as much as I. You knew this band was German, making this phenomenal singing, not in their native tongues, even more amazing. Sehr Gut !!!
"Still loving you" came out in 1984 - for me it´s their very very best song - but it´s all a question of taste - in 1990 they brought out "Wind of change" which was taken for all the political things - since this time "Still loving you" seemd to be forgotten what made me a little sad all the time - so thanks so much for your reaction and all your words - I enjoy so much what you say :))
One of the best love songs EVER!!! Interesting fact...it took 6 years to get this on an album cause the record company didn't think it would be popular!!!! Guessed wrong!!!! Timeless Classic!!!💜🤟🎵🎼🎶 I absolutely love your joy!!!💜💜💜 Released in 1984 and written by Rudolf Schenker.
Klaus meine the god on earth his voice enchants you no one can match your vocal power you are Klaus no one and able to imitate you they just have to bow before you with their heads down
Great reaction! I’ve seen them in concert a few times, and the sound is flawless! They’re the best! I caught the drumstick at the last one, and it’s my most prized possession.
Le premier concert rock de ma vie à commencer avec les Scorpions , en 1978 en France , je les ais ai vu encore 3 fois , la dernière il y à 5 ans . Ben oui je sais maintenant je suis vieux .
Your reaction to one of the 80's rock classics was great! It was very successful here in Brazil because the Scorpions band was in the first Festival Rock in Rio, in 1985. Total success !!
My favorite songs by scorpions. Been loving it from the beginning I heard it. Bought the 12 inch maxi single later on and is the best way to listen to this song on vinyl.
I love that you two are such "Rockers"..it's awesome seeing your great appreciation for rock music !! This is one of Scorpions strongest songs I feel..and I really recommend "Holiday" also.
I have 700 songs of all time from various groups and iconic singers I will recommend whenever I can, but from scorpions this is the best a vibrational poetry
the first time i heard that song when i was 8 or 9 years old i tought they americans, but my dad told me no, they are from germany. this song and wind of change gives me everytime goosebumps *-* greetings from germany 👋
This song is a masterpiece! Lead singer Klaus Meine has one of the greatest rock voices ever. On par with Freddie Mercury and Steve Perry.

First time I heard this song I remember rewinding it and replaying it over and over again, probably 50 times.
I've been listening to this song since it came out in 1984 and to see a younger generation like the song so much gives me chills.
I can’t believe it came out that long ago. Damn

Such a great reaction! This song is one of the best of my generation in the 1985 ♥️♥️♥️chills, tears and nostalgia😢😢😢

Good to see this music is still making it back behind the Iron Curtain.
Incredible band from Germany, what they have accomplished is admirable! They are awesome!!!!
