This is the perfect example of how not to rush a song. It took Rose 10 years and 2 bands to write this song. It was the first 90s song to cross a billion views on RUclips. It's aged like a fine wine.

Slash is a player that serves the Gilmour effect. One note can convey more emotion than a sweeping trill and massive double tapping and technical showing off. To be able to use slow, delayed vibrato effectively, emotively, is a skill you have or don't with the strings.

The hard rock genre (at times, depending on the band, referred to glam rock or hair rock) reached its apex in this song. The ending funeral was actually a funeral for this style of music as as it had reached its peak in that very funeral march. :) Thanks for the reactions guys.

That's a famous 90s Supermodel Stephanie Seymour playing his bride in the video. They dated a while and were eventually engaged but never married.

I'd love to see you guys check out The Who's My Generation from their Live at Leeds album. An Epic medley of songs all morphed together. One jamming riff after another. Like a run away freight train, they just keep coming.

You're so right about Slash. His tone is great in this song but it's way more than that - he just knows how to talk with it

The big 3 songs for GnR (besides Nov Rain) are Welcome to the jungle, Sweet Child of Mine & Paradise City.
