I'm 51 and was a kid when this came out, to this day his vocals give me chills with the incredible notes this guy hits. Clearly one of the greatest vocalists in Rock history.
Me too and just saw then live in Montreal last summer - and although their age is showing they still put on a great show!! Their music was a great part of the soundtrack of my youth.
@@SergioSBloch I’m 50 and at the local swimming pool they had a radio that played pop music and one day they played this song and everyone stopped and listened to the new Scorpions song in awe. We were all rock kids in a poor area and loved them tremendously. It was an amazing time to grow up in. Kids these days won’t sadly feel this kind of energy from modern music save for a few artists that are not on popular channels.
Klaus is the greatest rock singer ever. I’m 52 now and was introduced to the Scorpion’s back in my teenage years. For me they are one of the greatest bands ever
I saw Scorpions in 1991 at Red Rocks Amphitheater, Denver and frankly, they were so amazing that I have no recollection of what other groups played that night. I cherish the memory.
Despite their commercial success, I still feel Scorpions are hella underrated. Started as an incredibly solid hard rock band, developed into a really influential classic metal band, and successfully bridged the worlds of commercial rock/metal with the more musically demanding elements of underground metal. They had a powerhouse vocalist, and not one but 3 (!) incredible lead guitarists in Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth, and Mattias Jabs, and one of the best riff-writers/rhythm players ever in Rudolf Schenker. They also had a near flawless run of albums from '75 to '90 and were a killer live band (Tokyo Tapes and World Wide Live prove that). If that wasn't enough they have a handful of iconic tracks that even casual music fans know. What more could you ask from a rock/metal band?
Klaus is amazing. I met him on a street one day on Melrose in Hollywood in 90/91. I was surprised he was so open and willing to talk with some random long haired rocker. His reaction to him telling him he was one of my favorite singers and an inspiration was really touching. I knew he probably had things to do but him taking the time to speak with me shows he is one of the truly great artists. I made sure not to try and hold him up too much. As I also had things to do that day. Like rehearse. Good Guy. Great Voice.
Winds of change holds very special meaning for me being a former soldier stationed in Germany in the late 80's as I got to witness the events mentioned in the lyrics.
Ahhh we were there when the wall came down!! My brother is still mad at me as he and my dad left Berlin the night before to drive to Augsburg to visit me . Oops
Klaus is one of few rock singers that can sound as good live as his in studio recordings. He has also managed to keep his voice without damage throughout the years. The band still tours and he still sounds great.
This song caused a spike in births. Check the records, 9 months after it's released, boom! There it was. It's a timeless ballad where all the parts just blend so well together. A fan since 1981, at 10 years of age. The album Love at first sting has many great songs. Highly recommend. 👍🏼
The Scorpions are really genius. I do remember when this clip was aired. It was such a joy to experience music at these days. BTW Klaus Meine is married to his wife since 1977.
Ms Maggie, this song sets the bar for power balleds IMHO. My favorite thing about the composition of this piece is that the "hook" doesn't appear until three+ minutes in, and then is repeated until the end. Genius!
"Give me the deepest feeling filled by a whole heart toped with love!" -> Go to a Metal Ballard! I have seen these guys 26 times by now - and they are still rocking the sh*** out of you! German Metal at its best!!
One of the best songs and one of the greatest bands of my youth. Epic guitars and vocals. Always a blast to see them perform anywhere on any media format. Thanks for the review and memory stroll.
Thank you, it is so obvious that this was the album version over the live performance, I was expecting her to notice with the mouth being so out of sync in places. They can still nail it live though.
Klaus sings 'clean' most of the time, lots of good ballads and timeless rock. My favorite is probably The Zoo, that driving sound is just killer. I blew out quite a few cheap speakers trying to get it loud enough. 😁
They have an album called "Moment of Glory", from 2000, where their biggest hits are orchestrated and performed with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. It's one of my favourite albums of all time, it's absolutely astonishing, and I consider it a crime that it isn't better known. All the songs on it are magnificent, but especially this, Wind of Change, Send Me An Angel, and Here in My Heart. Please please please check it out. Goosebumps. 🖤
When we were teenagers in the eighties, this song was on continuous loop at parties. We could dance for hours entwined with our respective crushes. In Germany we called it "Stehblues", I think the English translation would be „slow dance“….!😅
I remember the day after a neighbor bought the album we filled sunken living room, parents were not home, I'm not sure might have 15 to 20 of 13,14,15 year old manics there. With album spinning the volume to be cranked up, from the first note the Scorpions rock our faces off! We did a full listen to both sides no one leaves the room. Rock on Rock hard 🤘
Maggie, I've watched several of your "Geoff Castelucci" videos and liked them all, but the fact that you actually looked up the lyrics on this song just earned you a new subscriber. This is easily the most heart-wrenching hit of the 1980's once you know the lyrics.
On the German version of "The Voice", a year or so ago, a bloke named Sebastian Krenz did this song as his blind audition, and if you think this, the original, was a vocal wonder, wait till you hear Krenz's version.
I was very lucky to see them in 2010, and it was a dream come true! They're that good live, and it was an amazing, emotional experience. Klaus Meine, is, without a doubt the best singer I've seen perform. I couldn't believe the energy they put into the performance. Fantastic band, and it's lovely to see them appreciated anew.
I'm 58 and heard Scorpions 1st album when I was 14, and fell over like you did on his vocals! Please react to more Scorpions! They have a huge catalog. They're incredible live, I saw them a handful of times from 1980-1989. Just excellent live!! They've got some Gorgeous ballads!! React to "Always Somewhere " its my favorite ballad from them. Klaus has chops like no other! Thanks for the awesome reaction. I was waiting for your mind to be blown! ❤️🔥
Sparklers actually caught a bar in Road Island on fire. The entire roof ouround the stage end went up like wildfire. The band was "great white". I believe 106 revelers died getting stuck and stack on top of one another like cord wood. They televised it on cable news and I actually caught it as it was starting till the end. You can probably Google it.😢
I saw Scorpions head line Monsters of Rock 86 at Zeppelin Field in Nurnberg with 3 of my fellow soldiers travelling up from Neu Ulm and we listened to all of their hits including Holiday on a juke box in a bar called Capo's in Ulm. Saw them again with Dio and Deep Purple in Colorado Springs. I would like to suggest you review their song Holiday
One of the most loved bands in Portugal. And they recognised that love when they recorded a live album in Portugal. One of my favourite bands and Still loving you is my favourite ballad ever. Thank you for the music and the memories.

Scorpions are classic and he's always been an excellent singer! I grew up listening to them! This is a classic 'Power Ballad'! THIS is what a Metal band should sound like! :)

Early Scorpions was great, I watched them all through the 80's and 90's and saw them live in Austin with Whitesnake and Dokken!~ They have so many songs, you should listen to every album! Peace!~
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I have watched a lot of your reaction videos and I don't think I have ever seen you close your eyes when you were listening to a singer. I certainly agree with you, the man has an amazing voice and the arrangement on this song is amazing!
Seeing your reaction brought me back when I saw them on this tour, Scorpions have a great ballad on every album they put out. I saw them 3 times. Love at First Sting tour, Savage Amusement, and 50th anniversary tour. You need to listen to Savage Amusement "Walking On The Edge."" Like I said, Klaus has one of the best hard rock ballad voices ever. Thanks for bringing me back to that tour. On the 50th Anniversary Tour, I took my youngest daughter to see them. Drove 8 hours she was only 16 at the time. They did 5 ballads unplugged at that concert. Just a FYI, Queensryche was opening band.
The Beatles wrote the song, " My Guitar Gently Weeps"; however, the Scorpions (entire discography) put that song title/terminology/meaning into a Masterclass of Epic Proportions!
"And I know what you could do" is what I'm hearing every time! And I love this song so much!Never knew that it was "And I know what you've been through".😊
I almost feel sorry for those who missed the 80s. Great time for music. Love At first Sting was one of my favorite albums. This came out when I was in college, and it’s just as epic today.
Being German, the clarity and diction is amazing as English is his second language. Rudy Schenker is the brother of Michael Schenker of UFO and the Michael Schenker group.
This is not live. It's the original recording with applause dubbed in at the beginning and end. Note the fade out of the song and fade in of the applause at the end. Typical 80's trick to show a live performance as the video, while playing the original recording. Klaus is amazing, don't get me wrong; but this is from the studio.
Prior to Scorpions getting any kind of fame Klaus had lost his voice and was told he could never sing again; if that says anything about how great his voice is.
I think his clean vocal sound might have come from how he learned English. If I recall correctly, he learned it phonetically. And yes, he is barefoot. 🤣
It’s widely believed, well I guess by me only, that angels listen to Kilaus to fall asleep. Lol. The first scorpions album I ever heard was Blackout. It forever changed the way I thought rock n roll singers had to be!
I'm 51 and was a kid when this came out, to this day his vocals give me chills with the incredible notes this guy hits. Clearly one of the greatest vocalists in Rock history.
Heard it at the arcade!
Good Times in the eighties.
Me too and just saw then live in Montreal last summer - and although their age is showing they still put on a great show!! Their music was a great part of the soundtrack of my youth.

This had to be one of the best break up songs ever. I have always loved this group. They are all extremely talented and intelligent gentlemen.
I've been obsessed with this song and his extraordinary vocals since I was a young child. His voice is truly stunning. ❤❤❤
Listening to a song like this is like plugging in to the universe and just vibrating in sync with time and space.
They have an incredible body of work that spans like 50 years…. And Klaus has one of those immediately recognizable voices ……they are amazing..
Not too many singers can stir the soul. he is definitely one of them. Shout out keep rockin.
The Scorpions are The Kings of The Power Ballads!
"Always Somewhere" is another beautiful Scorpions rock ballad which i would highly recommend.

I loved this song when it first came out, still think it's one of the most beautiful rock ballads ever produced.

He puts so much emotion into his voice. I heard this and had to go buy the album.
Without a doubt my favorite Scorpions song. Absolutely top ten rock singers ever. This song is amazing in any era
For my money this is the best power ballad in rock music, hands down. Straight 🔥🔥🔥😎🤘🏻
I am always amused when young people discover the music I grew up with.
And they are still rocking it and on our right now. Klaus is an amazing vocalist.

This song is haunting. A true masterpiece.

I love the journey you go through watching this, one detail I'd like to point out, this is live. Amazing performance.
This is not live. It's the original recording with applause dubbed in at the beginning and end. Note the fade out of the song and fade in of the applause at the end. Typical 80's trick to show a live performance as the video, while playing the original recording. Klaus is amazing, don't get me wrong; but this is from the studio.
he is so talented
Prior to Scorpions getting any kind of fame Klaus had lost his voice and was told he could never sing again; if that says anything about how great his voice is.
That sensation you are feeling is amazement at one of the most beautiful songs ever.
I think his clean vocal sound might have come from how he learned English. If I recall correctly, he learned it phonetically. And yes, he is barefoot. 🤣
I'm surprised it took you so long to notice that he was using the nasal sound to hit the notes. It sounds great.
It’s widely believed, well I guess by me only, that angels listen to Kilaus to fall asleep. Lol.
The first scorpions album I ever heard was Blackout. It forever changed the way I thought rock n roll singers had to be!
I am lucky to have seen The Scorpions, Dokken and White Snake in 1 concert. Toronto Canada🤟🏻
