I'm 43 years old and the last concert I saw was my favorite artist, Sammy Hagar and the waboritas, followed by the Scorpions. It would have been better if the Scorpions were first as their stage act was boring compared to Sammy, and I love the Scorpions. I was born into this stuff and grew up on all of it. Living under a rock are my exact thoughts, but then again rock and later classic rock is what I was raised on......stevie nicks, VH, ozzy, CCWR, john cougar mellancamp, phil collins, and a ton of others. So many people missed out on a couple great generations of rock/pop music.

Scorpions, I don't think 80s music. I think of "We'll Burn the Sky" dedicated to their very first fan in high school who died young, so they wrote this song for her in the 70s to say one day when we are finally dead, we are going to play all of these songs for you "and burn the sky" with our music so you can finally hear what we became because you believed in us first. That was their promise to her in the 70s with that song, and I just thought it was cool as hell. She was not a girlfriend of any of them or even what you'd call a groupie. Just the first person to treat them as if they had talent and that has to mean something to German high school boys to find a girl saying "you're the best."

Ah, my favorite old school power ballad.
I heard a story about the Scorpions from a local DJ about a month ago. He said that the songs of the Scorpions were often written to impress their groupies. "'No one like You', I wrote that song about you, babe! You're my one and only!" Then in the next town they'd say that to the next girl. And the next girl. And the next.
The Scorpions formed in the late 1960's, but hit their peak in the 80's. They even released a new album last year, though I've not heard it much.

This song is one of my all-time favorite rock songs; whether ballad or no ballad. A splendid display of perhaps one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time; yes even right up there close to Freddy Mercury. I saw them recently in concert and even in their 70s they still sound frickin amazing! Klaus Meine’s voice is still lazer-like and Rudolf Schenker (the band’s founder)was still jumping around like he was 17. Oh, and your reaction to the band was adorable!! Lol

Scorpions are a great rocking band who also have epic ballads. Their style has changed over the years but they continue to rock and their music is timeless. I still love their songs that I loved 40 years ago. If you can watch a full unedited live version of this song, you will appreciate it even more. There are plenty of performances available as this was a regular song in their concerts. Scorpions spawned one of the very best rock guitarists of all time, Michael Schenker, who is the brother of Rudolph Schenker in Scorpions, the one with the flying-V guitar (and cow pants)

Funny you mention that guitarist, he was the only guy I liked in the band for the majority of my life. His name is Mathias 🤘🏻🔥💥🙏🏻💯

MAN...if only these kids knew about the Highlander movies & would see how PERFECT the Scorpions were/are for those movies, especially a song like this dealing with immortals. 😱😎👍🏼

I play guitar and sometimes when we get into our cups my friend asks me to play for him. One day he asks, What IS IT WITH THE WEIRD FACES YOU GUYS MAKE WHILE PLAYING.
It is feeling the music we make. You show that same face. I can tell you are a musician and fell it.

Scorpions are my dad's favorite band, tied with Mother Love Bone, so I like to think I know a bit about them lol. The main difference between them and most other rock bands is that Klaus is the only member who sings. There are no backup vocals or harmonizing support from the others which is a testament to his skill and range. To be able to carry such a full sounding/ multi faceted load on his own throughout their discography is unheard of. PLEASE LISTEN TO HIS ISOLATED VOCALS FROM THIS SAME TRACK TO REALLY APPRECIATE HOW HIS VOICE SOUNDS LIKE SEVERAL INSTRUMENTS IN ONE.. ❤U
