      Baking Soda by itself, used after eating/drinking any carbonated, sugar or high PH, then breathing thru the mouth-most will need to mouth tape, and you got 90% fixed. K2 and vitamin D is the key to rebuilding stuff.

      Hi Thomas, to be clear about Irminne's 'cocktail', I'm having this (among other stuff and minus Baking soda + Xylitol) DAILY (!) in my morning 'shake' for at least 3.5 yrs. now - taste like s***, but my body feels great. My cats have a different adaptation (special for felines) mixed thru their evening wet catfood (incl. Beetroot powder & Inulin) - they have never been so strong / good looking and very happy 🙂

    Great Idea! I have been trying to figure out how to generate NO. I knew that it starts in the mouth. I knew about L-arginine and L-Citruline but I never thought of mouthwash. Duh! This should do it for me. I am 78. Important thing to add. Nothing seemed to work for me. Then I read in a book that making your system more alkaline improves NO production. So I developed and maintained an alkaline diet and my NO test strips went from "Depleted" to "Optimal". For me alkaline diet really works, but this should close the deal. You are a genius. THANK YOU.

      Have you heard of Kangen water. Its hydrogen water. I just bought a machine and have had it for a month. I'm going to get some straps and see how my NO is. I bet its low because I have like no saliva when I wake up in my mouth.

    • @colinkelley6493
      @colinkelley6493 10 месяцев назад +3

      @@juliegreen5993 Yes I had one of those machines a few years ago. I was fighting for my life at the time, and it did not help me very much to get well. Then I learned something that changed my life forever. Organic Salad vegetables are over 90% water and that water, especially if it is organic, is ALL STRUCTURED WATER. Carrot juice besides all the good stuff that is in it, is structured water. Same with fresh apple juice. So I eat a huge salad at the end of every day, for the structured water.

      Thanks for your comment. I do believe there are still a lot of good things to this mouth rinse. That is the reason why I am leaving this video up. There is a lot of evidence that his mouth rinse does improve the oral microbiome - it may not increase nitric oxide in the exhaled breath, but it does increase nitrate in the blood and nitric oxide in the body. I plan to make an update video on this, but for now refer to my most recent video on nitrates/lettuce juice and the Oral microbiome. Thanks.

    Dear Dr. IVD, I made the recipe yesterday & rather than use it as a rinse, I dipped my wet toothbrush in it & used it as a tooth powder; rinsing my mouth after brushing with it for a couple of mins. My mouth feels very clean, my teeth are shiny save for a hint of gold color due the turmeric. I feel more alert when I wake up & my breath feels fresh. I am considering adding a little mint / peppermint / cinnamon in the next round. What do think?

    Thanks Doctor, for another excellent, well supported presentation. Unfortunately, I used antimicrobial mouth washes for a long, long time, so I have two related questions.
    1) Is there an available test to assess for permanent damage to the tongue microbiome? A test that would tell me if any of the populations of tongue bacteria you mention were wiped out by years of using antiseptic rinses?
    2) If my tongue microbiome has been damaged, is there a probiotic to rebuild it? Your oral rinse looks like a good support for a functioning microbiome. What would be good for rebuilding one that was severely damaged?
    I think this would relate not only to people with long term mouthwash use, but also those who have had to chronically use antibiotics, for any reason. Your thoughts on assessing and repairing the damage would be most welcome. Thanks again!

I like the dual concept here of 1) remineralization of teeth and the production of NO. I find it interesting that you mention L-Arginine and its use to help remineralize teeth. I almost tossed out my L-Arginine after listening Dr. Bryan’s explanation that L-Arginine does not work in the NO pathway (in certain cases?). Thanks for making this video. Dear Dr Irminne Van Dyken. Thank you for another great presentation. 👏 A quick Q if I may? In a previous video you described how Nitric Oxide lasts for less than a second. If one eats good food for Nitric Oxide production in the body how long does its effect of relaxing blood vessels last, given that Nitric Oxide lives such a short life? Looking forward to your next presentation. Thanks.

    • @outofthedoldrums
      @outofthedoldrums  2 года назад +24

      Hi - such a great question! You are correct, the half life of nitric oxide is less than one second. The body tends to store nitrite and nitrate, which are easily converted to nitric oxide on an as-needed basis. The nitrate can stay in the blood stream for 5-8 hours, and the nitrite can stay in the body for around 45 minutes. So, as long as you are getting nitrates from food like beet root, that should be in your blood stream for 5-8 hours or so.
      I hope that answers your question.

    Great video! I've been wondering if there were any healthy mouth rinses out there!
    I have two questions for you...
    1) Won't the turmeric and beetroot powders stain your teeth over time?
    2) According to Dr Nathan Bryan, we shouldn't use any antibacterial products in our mouth. Therefore, I'm wondering about the use of zinc citrate, clove and you also mentioned peppermint oil ... all of these have antibacterial properties. 🤔
    What are your thoughts on this?

    • @eileenfb1948
      @eileenfb1948 11 месяцев назад +3

      Anti bacterial shouldn't necessarily kill off everything as a mouthwash would. If the ph is right it should encourage a more friendly environment for these friendly bacteria while making it inhospitable to the acid loving bacteria. In theory it should do that and any friendly bacteria from your raw food should be able to survive for a while there - needing to be regularly topped up every two or three days.

      @@eugeniebreida1583 Hi Eugenie. The difference is huge! When we make kefir/kombucha in the city, the product is much less effervescent, the taste is more souer because the chloride content.
      Chloride kills bacteria. The water coming from the mountain is pure and kefir/kombucha brew much faster and are more effervescent, tastier... The difference does not stop there. Your hair is better washing with the mountain water as well. Chloride is not healthy a all, not to mention in some countries there is fluoride in the water as well. Hope I was clear enough. My understanding is that a high quality organic turmeric powder will not stain teeth-it can even whiten them a bit. The problem with staining teeth is with cheap turmeric which may have dye in it. It’s the food dye which stains. I read this somewhere, possibly a food blog. You may want to further research this.

    For people who form kidney stones, I would stay away from beet powder. Beets are THE highest concentration of oxalate known in a food, and oxalate is what forms kidney stones. As long as you are not swallowing it you may be OK though, and the amount you will intake in this manner may not be a problem. But consider your personal risk preference before including beets.

      Instead of avoiding the oxalates and healthy foods, add more magnesium to your diet and have apple cider vinegar drinks daily. This will absolutely dissolve stones and keep them away. Besides, as another person mentioned, she is not advocating to drink it just rinse with it.

    Citrulline is a bigger precursor of nitric oxide trough a metabolism process on the body that requires the liver and so on...
    I don't think you will get nitric oxide from citrulline or argenine just because rising your mouth and spit it.

    This is pretty interesting. I read a few years ago that our commercial grade mouthwashes really aren't good for us and mess up the biome. . I switched to a zinc based option and I notice zinc is included in your recipe. But being that zinc is antibacterial wouldn't it create some of the same problems that we have with store bought mouthwash?

  • @alsetwheats

    Thank you for this. Would it be helpful to add a spoon of coconut or sesame oil to the water prior to rinsing? I've been doing oil pulling for some time and it's pretty amazing but will up my game with your N.O. mix for sure. My understanding is that the oil will eventually penetrate down to the roots just like motor oil finds tiny crevices in engines to keep them lubricated. Is this something that may enhance your mix? Thanks again :)

    • @genomedia44
      @genomedia44 2 года назад

      As far as I know, activated charcoal absorbs all organic material. My guess is it would then absorb the various bacteria in the mouth. The goal of this mouthwash is to promote a balance of good bacteria, not to reduce the overall amount. Open to other info...

    I have everything except the beet powder. I also have dicalcium phosphate and potassium carbonate. If one wanted to swallow this mix, I would reduce the zinc to maybe 1 or 2 tsp to avoid too much. Too much could throw off the critical zinc / copper ratio.
    I take about 150 mg (not mcg) of potassium iodide. This does a lot of things, but staying on topic, it greatly reduces body odor, at least I think so BUt but but, if you are older, there may be serious side effects from sensitive thyroid, as long term deficiencies of iodine may result in this condition. They really should be putting iodine in the drinking water, not toxic fluorine. Just my educated opinion, do your own research, if that is still possible.
