I appreciate Lee Pace's acting in this scene considering his character was about to exact his revenge and win a war and then in the middle of his triumph an Earthling starts to convulse his body set to music. He is so confused by Quill's reaction that he's genuinely caught off guard by it, to the point of actually being nervous to ask what's going on as if it's some kind of 200 IQ advanced trick and not a spur-of-the-moment non-sequitor distraction.

I think the ending to the first Guardians movie where they hold hands to share the power of the infinity stone literally sharing the pain in order to stand as one might be my favorite ending out of any film ever. It gets me every time. It perfectly ties in everything the film is about in a masterful scene that could have felt cringy or awkward if handled incorrectly. The subtext of them holding an infinity stone, literally a representation of the cold uncaring universe that just takes with its sheer power and force finally being controlled by this make shift family that has been made up of morally questionable individuals that come together for something greater than themselves. Even their superhero name of Guardians of the galaxy evokes a feeling parental guidance care, like if no one else in the universe will give a shit about helping innocent life they sure will. All of that undercut by the masterful score of black tears that perfect rises the tension of the moment until climaxing with all of them holding hands in a triumphant moment of standing up to an uncaring ruthless genocides Ronin. Wow I always think about it!! It's so awesome! 🤩
I love watching it. The way the music starts and feels nervous but courageous at first as you watch the Guardians unite (literally and metaphorically) then once they're on a "common ground", so to speak, the camera steadies while the power within the stone becomes balanced and the music follows suit, building into the crescendo when Quill says they're the GoTG, letting the music illustrate the badassness of it all. One of my top five MCU moments honestly. I get so excited by the brilliance of that scene every time.
@@thegreenrose147 facts I was waiting for someone to say it. This scene gives me chills everytime I watch it
It’s the little things in life that we love:)
People forget that Peter is 50% a celestial being. That's why he survived holding the stone before the others joined him
Makes you think if ego can control the infinity stones directly.
@@gwenzy750 he probably can, but since that isn't really his goal
@@neow6289 if his goal is to conquer the entire world i think having a couple infinity stone would help him a whole lot. I mean just having the power stone should have amplify his power so he doesnt need quill

As Vin Diesel would say, Family can do anything
3:05 "You said it yourself, bitch. We're the Guardians Of The Galaxy!"
The amount of goosebumps I got from that line is unimaginable, & the happiness I got when the main theme starts playing is astronomical!
The rest of the Guardians had no idea that sharing the impact would be able to save their lives, they just saw Peter was in so much pain they wanted to lessen it, even if it meant risking their own lives
cause that’s what hero’s do
For Family !!!!!!!!
@@jubeeshmehta1665 Dom Torretto Wants To Know Your Location😌 *Family*
Not really, Peter could've held the stone alone. He was a very powerful being before he killed his father. He's the reason how the rest didn't die.
@@kasadam85 I know that, but he and the other Guardians didn't know that back then. It's towards the end of the movie that we find out that he's half celestial and that's why they lived
That's what I said in my comment. They wanted to share the pain the Power Stone was inflicting upon Peter, even though they could have died themselves
"Take my hand" scene gets me everytime. One of the most emotional scenes from MCU
'Totally with you...
Up there with the Yondu death scene.
Yeah but less sad than groots death
So emontional.. awesome scene but I have to get to work right now..
As someone who’s mom just recently passed from cancer this movie is a bitch. That scene is really powerful
The transition shot of Quill reaching for his moms hand to Gamoras hand was badass 🤯
Peter trying to get himself killed every movie is a classic
I like how Rocket, the smallest of the Guardians and the one that people would see as less intimidating, was the determining factor of whether they’d be able to use the Power Stone or not.
Cyber engineered by the best engineers in the universe. That's why they killed groot because if he's part of this he will be killed also
Yo rockets scary with his guns. IDC if hes protecting or what but if he shows up with any sort of weapon, I'm running.

Literally a top 3 scene in all of the mcu, maybe number one, somehow mixed humor, emotion, and drama all perfectly, and the score 😭😭😍😍
Literally the best scene in the entirety of the MCU. It’s perfection.
This scene puts more weight into the Endgame scene where Thanos straight up grabs the power stone with his bare hand to fight Captain Marvel.
That would mean the guardians are stronger than carol
Actually, if you look carefully, you can see Thano’s hand start taking damage when he grabs the power stone.
@@Rish24 No, it means Thanos can hold one stone with no draw back. Carol is super strong but a stone is just beyond there. Wanda is the only Avemger at the moment that can rival the Stones in terms of raw power.
Thanos is already purple, he cant get any more purple ;D
Thanos built different
I love how this scene parallels the grenade scene with Steve Rogers, cementing Quill as one of the most selfless heroes of the MCU. Steve didn't know the grenade was fake, just as Peter did not know he wasn't mortal. Both never hesitated for a second even though they both "knew" they'd be giving their own lives.
Lol captain America after civil war is nothing more than a selfish wimp and wuill sucks nowadays
Ooff
@@human3213 says the guy with an anime profile pic
@Angel Reyes quill sucks ass and cap can't really do anything since he's old now
It's one of the best scenes in the MCU, don't get me wrong. But it's not a good parallel with Steve's grenade scene. Steve could have jumped for cover or run away like everyone else did. If Peter hadn't grabbed the Power Stone, Ronan would have gotten it and killed them all, plus everyone on the whole planet.
Steve was willing to trade away his life to save a few people who didn't even like him. Peter was risking likely death to avoid certain death, plus billions of innocents dying, too.
I'm not saying Peter isn't a hero, just that Steve Rogers even pre-transformation did something even more selfless and heroic.
The Guardians Theme is so good
All the Guardians together holding the Power Stone is one of the most badass moments in the MCU
ronan is genuinely concerned for Peter’s health
Ronan and his incredibly casual: “what are you doing” as if asking if his mental health is fine, is one of the single greatest reaction I’ve ever seen to weird shit
@@NoRegs30 It’s like he was so surprised he forgot he was a supervillain for a second. Then when he said it again it was more supervillainy

Confused And Annoyed
I'm thinking all of the above.

Dom Toretto would be proud they used the power of "FAMILY" to defeat the bad guy. 😂
