One thing I like about this scene is that it subtly hints Cap's intelligence. He's mainly known for his strength and bravery and stuff, but look at how he handled the situation here.
He noticed suspicious behavior of the people in elevator: the sweating, rapid mumbling, fidgeting, etc. He could tell that more agents going in were actually cornering him. He figured out what was gonna happen without showing any sign of fear. Then he delivers an epic one-liner and obliterates them all.
That always never gets mentioned he become an enhanced on both physical and mentally. He knew something was odd
He did poorly against These Non super people

Two places you never want to find yourself stuck in:
1. An elevator with Captain America

Best yet lol
Or a hallway with Luke sky walker apparently, if you’re an evil droid of darkness.
And in warehouse with Batman

I like how the whole time Cap is still being careful not to kill these guys despite their attacks, but rather recognizing they arent there to kill him either since they are using non lethals. But at 1:49 just getting sick of it and using his strength to completely demolish Remlo.
It kinda feels personal
Where his name is mentioned?

Yeah, he also faked a negotiation to surprise-attack Captain America, even though it was a chance to surrender.
Still find his strength level varies in each sequel, he doesn’t seem as strong compared to the one fought against thanos gang
The SCARIEST PART about this: Cap Was STILL Holding Back, lol.
Doesn't look like it, he can't afford being captured so he takes them out as efficently and fast as possible, This being PG13 though you don't see blood when in reality Cap may be able to punch someones head off if he goes full force.
@@FPAlpha You just said he can punch someone's head off, which he can, if he can throw a motorcycle like a basketball, which he does in AOU. So yeah, definitely holding back.
Didn't unleash his roid rage
Absolutely, his one punch is equal to one hole in your torso
@@FPAlpha You do realize that you contradicted yourself, right? That you said that it doesn't look like Cap is holding back yet he can punch someone's head clean off if he used his true strength (which, based on all the strength feats Cap has achieved, he IS clearly capable of doing if he so desired, but he won't due to his morality) is very silly. Cap was holding back.
The first time I watched The winter soldier in the cinema, when everyone came out from the theater and into the elevator, a guy said: ‘before we get started, does anyone want to get out?’ Everyone in the elevator laughed so hard 😂

The scariest thing about cap in this scene: He could do this all day.
"Yeah I know, i know"
🤣😂😂😂
Scariest thing about cap is he's supposed to be the peak of human evolution yet he has never used his full potential yet cause his heart is so pure when it comes to causing pain unto others that he does not want to use any unnecessary power

Were elevators even a thing in the 40s ?
This scene really shows Cap's intelligence, in not just fighting and realizing when to fight. I noticed when he jumped out of the window at 2:30, he spread his arms to reduce his speed before covering himself with his shield. Really great detail there.
But he needed to keep enough speed to smash through the glass. So he only slowed for a few seconds.
His elevator scene in Endgame showcases the intelligence way better and honestly kinda clowns on this scene as a result.
@@JediMasterRevenantMADNESS what happened in that scene?
Instead of fighting them, he deceives them. He says Hail Hydra and gets them to give him the briefcase, allowing him to walk out without a problem. Until he runs into himself, of course. It was during the time heist. He KNEW he could've taken them, and actively, wisely chose not to. Cap in this scene and in the Endgame scene realized they were Hydra agents. “Before we get started, does anyone wanna get out??” One of the coldest lines ever for many reasons…first it’s a psyche out id be scared if I heard him say that lol, second he could be just bluffing/acting but smartly to try and see if he could get anyone to leave giving him more of an advantage and making it even easier…also he has superhuman senses that’s across the board so he also knows there’s probably some guys in there that don’t want to be based on their sweat and heartbeats
everyone gets out except rumlow. that would've been funny
Plus, it's also him showing mercy in a way by making it clear he knows they're there to fight him and offering them the chance to leave.
He's also the kind of guy who would legitimately give his opponents a chance to back out, as I htink was one of his intentions here.

I love that this was the movie that showed that Capitan America is not 'just' peak human, but an actual superhuman and a true one-man army.
The Avengers
Not bad for a 70 year old man.
I am quite certain they based his power level of the version of Captain America from Marvel's "Ultimates" series, and not their mainstream universe. That version of Captain America is not "peak human," but truly superhuman, and possesses strength on par with Spider-Man -- he even briefly knocked the Hulk unconscious (BTW, I always liked that in the Ultimates universe, Hulk is _truly_ dangerous, and kills hundreds of people when transformed into the Hulk -- it honestly makes more sense for a rage-fueled being like the Hulk to be so unrestrained and violent). The movie version also has a costume based on Ultimate Captain America's. They also took the casting of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury from "The Ultimates" comic series; he had been drawn as Jackson there -- not looking somewhat like either; it was unmistakably Samuel L. Jackson, before he ever starred as Fury in a Marvel movie.

He is a superhuman .-.
He is superhuman physically, but mentally he’s still superhuman, seriously the guy is righteous the person, so I guess morally he’s superhuman, but he thinks and acts like a human but better. Fear, pain, loss, and other stuff isn’t just gone from him. While jumping he was probably scared as shit, and it was probably pretty painful landing even with his durability and vibration shield. He only jumped because he had to, lest he have to fight everyone which he really doesn’t like doing.

This whole scene and movie says a lot about Cap’s abilities. His durability, strength, mentality, strategy, skill and how fast he thinks. Him being able to jump out of a plane from thousands of feet in the air into a big body of water without any injuries whatsoever just proves that he’s indestructible to trauma, then jumping out of the elevator which was hundred of feet up in the air on falling on his shield alone and still getting up and running. @@Mezha07 Yeah, for most people this would've been the grandmaster of overkill. Cramped space filled to the brim with hostiles. Powerful magnetic cuffs to restrain him and stun batons.
The cuffs especially, were really effective. It had cap fighting one handed for most of the fight. If it wasn't for cap throwing off one cuff they might have had a much easier time shocking him.
Let's really look at what they accomplished here:
An action scene in a very tight space, well-lit, no shaky cam, cut just quick enough to make it feel kinetic and not too quick as to confuse where things are spatially, featuring a solid one-liner, starring a hero that you can take seriously and root for despite his origin as a silly patriotic product of the time.
Awesome.
EDIT: Please read a couple comments down before getting your hams steamed by the word "silly". My dad served in the military for 30 years, I'm plenty patriotic.
SILLY? The creator of Capt America said he was morally repulsed by the actions of Nazi Germany in the years leading up to the United States' involvement in World War II and felt war was inevitable.
Fighting evil is not silly
@@electrictroy2010 Of course not, I love and appreciate classic Cap! I'm just referring to the general perception. He was perfectly suited for when he came out, but I think America's attitude towards patriotism has changed since then, and they wanted something more nuanced in terms of both character and design.
Not disorienting? Watch in .25 speed ull realize how many guys are waving their arms in circles and leading with their vital organs lol. Fantastic scene, but trust, marvel don't need any extra credit 😂

The" i can do this all the day " line comes from there, the acting( i wasn't a believer of chris evans as cap for me he was johnny storm i was soo angry then i watched the movie and now his captain america portrayal is my favorite of the mcu), many awsome things too, connexion with the stark familly, his friendship with bucky , the first mcu movie to include an infinity stone, the story in a whole was good, the whole thing when he wakes up in modern day, the only problem is the action but it wasn't that much of a problem.
KKKKKKKKKKKKKK THE BEST KKKKKKK 😂
No
Chris Evans as captain America is perfection this scene is amazing and incredible Everytime 😂😂😂😂 forever love the captain America movies 😂😂😂😂😂😊🙏💯
“Before we get started, does anyone wanna get out?” This line will be stuck in my head for years to come.
And you can clearly see him mouth "Does anyone wanna get off?" but they got rid of that for obvious reasons.
"Me! I'll get out right here. You guys can go. I'll catch another one. Thank you for that."
That line was gangster af lol
Next thing you know, Link from L.O. Zelda will say that before fighting his enemies
say it every time I enter an elevator
I love how even when he realized he's about to get jumped he still gives em a chance to run before he beats em down.
daddyrichten 😂😂
daddyrichten 😂😂😂😂😂😂
daddyrichten on god 😂😂😂
I always imagined an alternate scenario where there's just one random guy on lunch break that's like "Yeah, can you get the 12th floor for me?"
An officer and a gentleman.
The outfit so awesome
Man, that "reverse slam into the roof" is the best finishing move ever..
No body can take place of Chris Evans as CAPTAIN AMERICA
Bucky can
Falcon captain America now
Except clarence
Except Anthony Mackie apparently
@@cinna3611 but Falcon does not have super human strength
Steve Rogers: "Before we get started, does anyone want to get out?"
Stan Lee: "Yeah... I do."
frozencloud17 That honestly would’ve been perfect
lol
That would be awesome cameo xD
Underrated comment tbh, i would love Stan Lee comin out from the back of the elevator and say "me" and "excuse me" to the Hydra guys and when he got off and the doors close THEN they fight
🤣
Captain america: Winter soldier has the best fight scenes
Poor Frank Grillos character. He went pretty well conceding he was up against someone with super strength. Love how he gets launched into the roof at the first opportunity by cap (after getting floored by an elbow). Ouch. (Although in reality an elbow from captain America would kill someone at full force so we have to assume he's pulling his blows slightly.
Crossbones: “this isn’t personal”
Cap: “and I took that personally”
Lmao

THAT KIND OF FILLS PERSONAL.
lmfao
I love how crossbones gets his ass kicked everytime but never gives up 😂

“My bad everybody, he did have somewhere to go.”
Lol across the spider verse reference 😂😂
This scene is meme material

Everyone else : 0:50

Fuq that commercial and State of Survival
Holy shit, this is legendary AF! 🤣
DAMN SON, I salute you
1:01 Cap:I..wasn’t..finished!
Loll
Cap has to be the best superhero personality ever.
Never lost hope, fought without fear, attitude of not losing anything.
Very inspiring
Late, but a well written Superman is the same.
literally every superhero ever
@@user-mg7wh8zq6v I mean, there's a difference. Cap dosen't have too many superpowers, or a family.
@@nou9162 he has plot armor tho lol
@@user-mg7wh8zq6v oh come on
“Before we get started, does anyone want to get out?” For me is the coldest line in the mcu. Also, Rumlov managed to kick caps hand mid punch, that has got to be a boarder line super human feat of strength
Whenever i am feeling down I come back here to pump myself up
I like how this scene shows how cap isn't just a dumb brute. He's very intelligent and resourceful. Gets shit done throughout the entire movie, no whining, no hesitation to do the right thing. I don't get how people say he's not even all that powerful and is just a lame.
He was intelligent and resourceful before he became Cap.
At 1:02 while they are trying to get him arm on the wall, he is plotting how to take out every MF'er in that elevator. He is a master strategist at combat and why he gave out the orders in the NYC fight in The Avengers.
cut to cap blocking the attack of a titan with 5 of the 6 infinity stones
@@RDStudios Yet he got tagged by the guy with the taser alone two times.
@@omartelo6994 Yes, but that was Brock Rumlow (Frank Grillo). I never said Cap didn't get hit, but he is thinking steps ahead of most opponents. IE He was kicking Thanos's ass in EndGame for a few minutes, until Thanos got the upper hand.
“Before we get started does anyone want to get out”
Me, a lowly HYDRA agent who was ordered to fight him: Yes, thank you excuse me, pardon me I’m leaving now.
Lol, true, but you'd be in a lose-lose situation there, maybe....either getting executed by Hydra or receiving an asskicking by Cap....😔
Copied pathetic
@@toneytorado5520 yes they are pathetic

0.19 .. The man litrelly pissed by his sweat
He knows clearly taking down captain is nearly impossible. But still he got orders so he had to do that 😂😂😂
This scene is goated ❤
"Before we get started, does anybody wanna get out?" The fact that he is sincere in this offer and probably would have let anyone who didn't want in on that moment out just makes it funnier.
The lead-up to this is great too. First, Brock Rumlow and some of his agents get on the elevator and make small talk; Steve is suspicious once he notes their hands are very near their batons. Then a bunch of businessmen get on at the next floor and Rogers notices that one is sweating. Then, they arrive at a third floor... and the doors open to reveal three massive beefbuses built like MMA fighters who (like Rumlow) are STRIKE personnel, confirming Cap's suspicions that something is about to go down. They proceed to shuffle around so that he's surrounded. Even better is his slightly irritated look at all this when the third group gets in, as if he's more disappointed in their lack of subtlety than the fact that he's about to be attacked by his own allies.
It's particularly funny when one of the final arrivals into the elevator gives the floor they're going to:
Massive MMA-style STRIKE operative: Records.
Thanks captain obvious
Love the breakdown, did not get a good sense of the details until then:
To further continue the analysis
Rumlow isn't usually sociable so he's acting OOC.
There's no good reason to have hands near weapons when on your home turf surrounded by friends and allies unless you're about to engage a hostile.
Why would a businessman be sweating? They didn't sound like they were rushing to the elevator and even then, that's a little too much sweat for a short sprint.
Also, records, lol, why would these guys go to records?
And last, that seemingly dead silence when everyone was about to get the jump on Cap. That silence is a dead giveaway for an ambush on a primal level. "It's quiet, too quiet" comes to mind.
Love that line. Polite *and* intimidating. Always the gentleman.
And the best part of that scene: At the end of the fight, during the overhead shot showing everyone out on the ground, you can see Gui DaSilva, one of the stuntmen, having a quick nap. The one on the bottom right.
This was confirmed by Gui himself, in an episode of Corridor Crews „Stuntmen react“ series.
@@feranard Don't forget why are they all going to the same floor when half of them have nothing to do with the records area. Plus records is downstairs, a perfect place to spring a killing like a basement or the sewers
