@@Spanner0696 There's a difference between calm confidence and braggadocious confidence. Calm confidence means you're not phased by anything, you're not scared, you're analysing the situation, you're in control of your emotions, you know your abilities and you feel confident you're capable of responding to whatever the situation brings. Braggadocious confidence is where you think you're the big shit, coz you've maybe had a few fights, and everyone's scared of you and you're the bossman. Usually the latter means that you've got very little experience and knowledge and that you've got a big ego, which means you'll probably underestimate your opponent and overestimate your own abilities. Someone with calm confidence knows exactly what their limits are and has probably tested them. It also usually suggests they've got tons of experience, and generally have no level of fear or major ego. They've earnt their way to where they are, worked hard (in whatever context that applies) and got there on their own merits. It probably means they're both feared, yes, but also respected and they've probably had a level of training or being taught what to do generally. It suggests that they're reliant on muscle memory and instinct that teaches them what to do next in the situation. Anyone that's in a dangerous situation and is analysing the situation isn't going to have their adrenaline spike too high, so they'll be able to manage the situation better because they won't go into fight or flight mode. Someone that already believes they've won without analysing the situation won't have a handle on their adrenaline because they'll just let it flood them, going for shock and awe. If you're in a fight situation and the person ahead of you looks like they're not phased at all, even though you seem like you could easily take them on, the chances are, you probably will have at LEAST an even field on your hands. If you're in a situation like those guys, in hostile territory, and a guy talks to you like that, it's best to walk away, or to diffuse the situation. Not least because they'll respect you if you talk to them man to man, and lower the aggression than if you just go in half cocked coz it means they can't take you seriously.
Love the scene in Legend , just how casual Reggie is knowing him and Ron are gonna clean house , the real-life situational joke is just icing on the cake .

The best imo is the clip from Legend. Sure the fighting is sterling. But the psychological dominance is just beautiful. They controlled every single moment of that.
I worked in the Criminal Justice System for over 40 years. "Real Gangsters" can be and are coped with. They are however tough men with their personal code of conduct. They are men that only a fool would "bait" or trifle with. They can fight too. I once asked a rookie: "Ever had to fight one of these men?" The young fool said a very lame "no". I told him if he kept going the way he was the opportunity to fight a "Real One" was going to be his - and he would not believe what was going to happen to him. Treating real gangster ciminals with respect is the most reasonable way to deal with them.
I assume scenes like in these movie clips are pure wish fulfillment though (for audiences who'd love to get revenge on some petty criminals who've bothered them)? Can't imagine real gangsters dealing with roadmen in quite so poetic and gentlemanly a way.
Real gangsters are dangerous men. They move quick when using violence throwing repeated blows and are very good with their fists. They do often talk before becoming violent either.@@Elcore

Charlie Hunnam was so good in The Gentlemen. I'd love to see him in a similar role or have him in the new series.
yeah he's just disappeared off the face of the earth
Love you he way he turns Geordie when he gets pissed off 😂
I need to give it another chance. I couldn’t get into it, but I was watching distracted. I’ve heard good feedback so I vow to try again
1:23 Man looks like Goggins if he failed💀
Thank you for including the Gran Torino clip. Clint was wild AF for this movie in the 2000s 🤣🤣🤣
Unfortunately the acting in that movie - e.g. by the Asian girl - is beyond ridiculous, it is just SO bad
That first one was awesome. Just a straight-forward fist to the face! And the reactions felt pretty realistic. 🤣
What movie was that
The first clip is from ‘The Guvnors’. The old sport socked that punk and put his sleepyhead-ass to sleep for real.
@@ayushrudraraju3087 what's "sleepyhead"?
It describes how the gang leader in the clip from “The Guvnors” was acting high and drowsy at the same time.
@@ayushrudraraju3087 was he that way cuz he was high? It seemed a bit odd. Especially when trying to assert dominance and threaten people in a moment when a fight can break out
Tom Hardy in Legend is a masterclass in acting. He was fantastic.
That scene in the gentlemen where Charlie Hunnam’s character whips out that silenced MP5K is fucking great.
Such a good film. A return to top form for Guy Ritchie. The whole cast smashed it
The Gentlemen- "Life's quick you're slow" that line shut everything down. 😂
Real hard gangsters, proper old school as their calm presence just scares people, really heavy
8:47 It's true, you know. You can get further with a kind word and a suppressed MP5K than you can with just a kind word.
Makes sense
I'd have to agree with that assessment.
😅😅😅
Your logic is infallible.

British tough guys are so hilarious
“I’ll wet ya!” lmao
Think you skipped the video. There just little boys with poor upbringing. The tough guys are the blokes suited up. A almost dead breed. Roadmen are just third and fourth gen immigration gone wild.

honestly they are a total embarassment in the UK, complete jokers who try and use American language like refering to the police as the "feds" all thick as shit with no life prospects apart from either being killed or lifed off in prison for murder.
dont act like this is a british phrase lol, 80s american rap songs had lyrics like "i'll wet em up with the biscuit". lets not act like you wouldnt shit yourself and apologise like a little boy in any of these situations lmfao.

The Gentleman was SUCH a great movie. Amazing performances from multiple actors and a fun twisty storyline. Can't beat it.
Absolutely an all time classic
Its a masterpiece! Hugh Grant's roll is brilliant 😂

There is an old Marine Corps saying .... Be Afraid of an Old Man in a Profession where Men usually Die Young.
It's Not just the Marines , that say that .
Yeh bro we know. It's overused on every single video with an old man that's a badass.
A dangerous man becomes no less dangerous with age , in fact he becomes more dangerous , and his fuse gets shorter and burns hotter

“Im here for a proper shootout with proper men” … has to be the most gangster line i’ve ever heard.
The fact he pours his own Guinness in two goes is spot on as this is the right way. In the mean time he just happened to fill in half a dozen geezers before to pass the time.
"Always be afraid of an old man that has survived a young mans game"
If someone is so confident in such situation, you best take him seriously.
Until you realise the wannabes were also supremely confident until they got shown their places.
It’s almost like confidence can be misplaced.
It shows they don't care! They're willing to do "business"😮
14:15 "You sparked me out Bruv" all while he's giving a speech 😅😂
Love the scene in Legend , just how casual Reggie is knowing him and Ron are gonna clean house , the real-life situational joke is just icing on the cake .
The thing you have to remember is the two gangsters Tom Hardy plays in Legend, Reggie and Ronnie Kray, were REAL.
that fact about Reggie and Ronnie Kray being real made that movie more enjoyable. There is always something more interedting about a story about real people over fiction.
You got your mouthwash muddled up with catpiss has got to be the best line I've heard in the last 20 years!! That movie is worth watching for that scene if nothing else.

@pdxcorgidad exactly Bro. Crazy.
Great advice. And as the professional, everyone should be treated with respect, shouldn’t they? Not like friends, but with respect.

The fact that The Gentlemen is featured twice, speaks for itself. 😎
That “road man” was far too articulate to be genuine. He didn’t affect that cringey faux patois they do either. You see them yammering that shit and you think “your grandad has a cockney accent mate. Why the fuck are you acting as if you’re Jamaican?”
