As a cop (last 23 years), I had to laugh, because there are two things absolutely spot on in this scene. First is that the complainant straight up lied through her teeth and accused the person she is complaining on of something he didn't do. We see that a lot, and it's one reason why for misdemeanor complaints, we just refer them to the magistrate. It's sad that the only thing protecting people from getting a criminal charge most of the time is the complainant's laziness (they tend not to follow through when they find they actually have to carry their butts downtown to speak to the magistrate), but ti's so. The second funny thing is that the cops really are quite powerless in this situation. All they have is an unsubstantiated complaint of an act they didn't witness, and they have no authority whatever to compel Ray to speak, or come inside his home against his will. It's just that most citizens don't realize that for something like this, being so totally uncooperative -- but _not_ presenting any kind of active resistance -- leaves the police no way to proceed _at all_ with a complaint like this.
@@Sarvagya4 Uh, no, we won't. Any cop who shoots someone who is merely standing calmly in front of him and refusing to answer questions will be going to prison for murder. Don't be stupid.
@ Chaos ZT. Exactly. That seems to be the immediate go-too nowadays! Even though it's been proven over and over. Women resort to violence much faster then men. But because we are physically inferior to men. It gets brushed off as no big deal.
Your statement is incorrect. Children do things that their parents didn’t teach them quite a lot. Bullying is most likely a parental problem but that statement you said is a normal result of a child learning. Something at school that the parent didn’t teach.
A more amusing version of this happened at my neighbors a few years ago. He and his brothers, all in their 70s, were recounting tales of their misspent youth (ski jumping off the roof into a snowbank that was actually a gravel pile with a dusting of snow was a highlight), when their mother, who must’ve been in her 90s, loudly said “Not my boys!” There was a second or two of absolute silence, then they all burst out laughing while she wagged a finger at them (to be fair, even she was smiling).
That older kid showing up and threatening the bully is ACTUALLY VERY effective. Someone did this favor for me when I was young and easily bullied in school and my problems with my bully vanished. The coward wanted to be my friend now. Well, praise God and thank you for the angel you sent that time. To Thee I bow.
If I was him I would have paid $1000.00 to 4 low life women to beat the outta her for lying to the police to the point where no one could recognize her because of all the damage to her face while I went on vacation. Perfect alibi.
"I don't answer questions, can I help you?" This kills me.. he is asking them if he can help them (and obviously they would have to ask him a question for him to do that) then he immediately shuts them down after they ask 😂😂😂
Well, there's a difference. Saying this to a stranger or a friend is odd. To a police officer it's fine. They are there to investigate. Make arrests. Take in as much information as possible for any future cases. I've been in a few situations where I should have said this lol
Had a situation of continuing vandalism at our workplace. Just local teens and their parents just brushed it off. Police said there was nothing they could do. So, I walked around with a camera taking their pictures. After a while they started asking why I was taking their pictures. I told them that we knew the police could not do anything about the vandalism they were doing but I just wanted to make sure that the people we were hiring got the right people. It all stopped immediately.
Well done! First time I've seen bullying handled realistically on TV. I got bullied in elementary by a kid 2 years older than me. One day after school, I got into a fight with a kid in my class and, for some reason, the bully took it upon himself to jump in and help the other kid by sucker punching me. Until then, I'd never met him and didn’t even know he existed. Beginning the next day, he waited for me outside every afternoon at 3 o’clock. Since the physical stuff technically took place after school the administrators didn't care. My parents spoke with his mother (the dad had died from an overdose) but that was useless too. After a couple of weeks (which felt like forever), a friend (older than the bully by two years) came to my school and stepped in. My friend kicked the $hit out of him in front of the whole school. He wailed on him until he started crying. Humiliated him, made him apologize and threatened to come back. The bully got the message because he never bothered me again. 09.24.24 edit: Surprised by all the upvotes and comments. I guess my experience wasn't uncommon. Out of curiosity, I decided to track the guy down (which wasn't hard - he never left the neighborhood) and learned he shared a fate similar to his old man's. He became a drug addict and petty thief. He OD'd and died over a decade ago.
Something similar happened when I was little. This kid from school got his brother to bully us after school. When our older cousin (2 or 3 years older then us) found out, he choke slammed the Older Brother on the sidewalk. Always give that cousin credit, even if he does some stupid shit nowadays
I was also bullied but the friends of my older sister did it in a friendly and non violent way without anybody getting hurt why is bullying the offender such a popular way to end it that just reinforces the behavior of the strong preying on the weak
@@josefehling1134 : How nice for you! Glad you were able to get things resolved peacefully. I guess my parents just got tired of their 11 year old son being sick to his stomach every morning and not wanting to get out of bed, school administrators not giving a $hit and the bully’s mom being completely unresponsive. I’m sure it would’ve been nice for us all to have worked out a pleasant resolution that didn’t involve violence, but I guess my parents just didn’t think of me as a sociological experiment or a living example of tolerance and acceptance for the school to admire. Their child was being assaulted every single day and they had to stop it. Period. The bully’s motivations weren’t of any concern. If you had children, you might understand.
@@ThomasFerrugia i feel you! My little brother who has physical and learning disabilities, was bullied relentlessly in school, and I was ALWAYS getting into so much trouble for sorting it out.. That show could have went on for years but, Scott Ryan WAS the entire show, and when he said he was done, he wasn’t kidding - Such a gifted writer and a fascinating actor to watch; the kind of guy that steals every scene he’s in … he’s definitely doin’ what he was meant to do and should be proud of his work.
My little brother dealt with a bully for like a day. We were 2 grades apart and my lil bro used to dress like the skaters with long hair back then. Some kids were throwing rocks at him and his friend. He came up too me and asked if I could do something about it. Maaan I felt like such a badass picking up a rock and saying “wanna see how it feels?” Lmao that bully ish stopped instantly; my bro never lets me forget that moment whenever we talk about the old days. That was like 20 years ago. No one messes with my Bestfriend :)
I never asked nor did I expect my brothers backing me up. But in the faculty and the schoolyard I guess my reputation proceeded me. I have my ups and downs being the quiet one. Being the quiet one I guess all I can say is it just doesn't pay. I mean I'm not a jailbird. At 60 I'm not into drugs. All my jobs are not well paying and I don't rebuck properly. @rockwellrhodes7703Almost right; They, as a parent, can do no wrong. The kid is just an extension of that. If they choose to deflect blame by saying the kid cant do no wrong, or if they throw the kid under the bus (sometimes even without the kid actually having done anything wrong), is dependent on the personality of the parent. Both methods are pretty common.
Real fans of the show knew when Ray smiled , someone was about to pay a price-and for the price they paid they received something. A lesson in life. Dont be a dick.
He seems like a really chill dude, honestly. Realistic portrayal of the world pushing a man into acting the 'wrong' way, when really all everyone had to do was not abuse him or his family.
While he does have a code of honour, he's not above killing someone solely for money. Spoilers: The fraud guy that he hangs, and the and the biker he used to be friends with who he didn't really want to kill come to mind. I know the fraudster indirectly caused the death of another person, and the bikers probably done some shady shit, but those deaths weren't quite as justifiable as most of the others.

What you expect from pigs? Happened to me too when i was in Austin. I'm not even from the US and i was there for a work conference. @@ShadowMoon878 I wonder what cops expect out of such encounters? No one is ever going to admit "Oh I'm going to that convenience store to rob it. On foot of course, I don't want my getaway to be too quick." I was bullied back in highschool. There was a bunch of them who studied karate at the Cobra Kai dojo. Luckily I met Mr. Miyagi who taught me Karate. I won a tournament which in turn won the respect of the members of Cobra Kai.
I was bullied for years by a group of boys, who had a leader. I was sensitive and smaller than he was at the time. It was PTSD type stuff that I still deal with today. Neither the school nor the parents of the kid cared or did anything about it for years (this was mid to late 70s, things were different). Then my family went to live in England for a few years, and I ended up getting put in a lower class school. It was tough but I made tough friends and I grew larger and learned how to fight a little by scrapping with these kids. When I came back to the US the bully and I ended up in the same home room, first day of school. We were each 15. He started threatening me before the teacher got there, just launched in like no years had passed at all. He told me I was finished after class got out, he was really going to f&ck me up big time this time, etc. We went into the hall, and he immediately started swinging. And then I beat him so badly that he lost an eye. The school didn't give me much discipline because they felt guilty for letting the abuse go on for so long, he started the fight (with witnesses to that effect), and his parents knew what a monster they had raised (they were monsters themselves probably), and so did everyone else, so they didn't have much success seeking restitution for their little angel, or getting me punished. This event was the only violent act I ever committed in my entire life. And I don't care what kind of family life he had that caused him to abuse me for half a decade. I don't feel bad about it at all. I rarely ever think about it, unless I come across an video such as this. And then I remember that every morning that bully wakes up, he remembers who I am, and he remembers how he earned his partial vision loss. Lesson to bullies: Stop now, because you are not always as in control of the situation as you might think you are, and you have no idea how the person you are tormenting might react on any particular day you are engaging in their abuse.
Elon Musk was bullied so severely that he was actually hospitalized. Guess who got the last laugh. The people who bullied him now are lucky to be sweeping out the floors of one of his companies. THAT is a message worth sending! I too was bullied. My Dad gave me boxing lessons and I beat up the kid across the street. At the time I felt "victorious" and happy. Not so much now. I will have to have a life recapitulation during my "time to pass." I'm sure I will have to relive beating him up. Then, it won't be so great. At all. Sanjosemike (no longer in CA)
This series ran for 3 seasons and is still on Hulu. Very realistic and this actor Scott Ryan created the character Ray, the series and I believe wrote and directed a bunch of the episodes. It’s gritty, amazingly realistic in many episodes. He’s a complicated criminal and in many episodes plays a more realistic equalizer, which is a skilled violent person who is not afraid to kill people. Its classified as a dark comedy and one of the best episodes is genius funny, but still violent. The character is also a doting dad, caring caregiver, shylock, paid assassin, loyal friend and retribution specialist all rolled into one. It was riveting.
Best show we've put out of Australia for years. I still rewatch it and never get tired of it. It's so Aussie. Looking forward to his next project coming soon. 🍺
Goes to show that kids learn from their parents. Taylor's mum shows up to the door and obviously doesn't care. Doesn't even pretend to be friendly and just assumes her kid is perfect and wouldn't bully anyone. Even contradicts herself in the same sentence "Don't call me 'love', mate". Clearly thinks she's all high and mighty and above everyone else, and thinks she can use her brother's status as a cop to bully others into submission. Lucky for her she's not aggressive too, we all know what ray would do then :D
This, Contradictory everywhere Calls him mate when she doesn't wanna be called love, and straight up tries to intimidate and threaten him with her cop brother. Ray was trying to be civil the whole time and got shit for it

The whole situation is stupid. Don't ever go door to door to talk to someone's parents. If there are problems at school, report them there.
@@buhklao agree on all of the above, except, there’s a big difference between calling someone “mate” and calling a girl “love”. One’s historical Aussie vernacular that applies equally to both sexes and refers to an equal bonding relationship of ‘toil’ from which the slang was developed. It’s roots and meaning make it very relevant and still widely used today. The other is condescending and chauvinistic inferring a controlling or dominant role. It’s commonly aligned with an earlier time of an unequal submissive housewife, and is used in modern times as a bonding word between partners, relatives or people in very close relationships.Used outside of this realm it is today, more often used as a derogatory slur with misogynistic connotations.
@@ARudolphHucker ?? okie dokie … aaah, thanks - I guess … But fwiw it wasn’t…. What a fantastic show. Such a shame it ran for so short a time, but at least we got a season to wrap it up. The ending was also pretty on point to the character of Ray.
I got bullied as a child by a few boys. My dad didn’t confront anyones parents but told me to go after the one with the mouth. I said what if they beat me up? He said that might happen, but the next time they want to bully someone you won’t be on their list. Appeasement makes the aggressor more aggressive.
Actually, my father would if the parents were A-holes, but it was after I fought down the bully. He wouldn't wait to see how they respond, and my father was psychotic when he lost his temper. So there were a couple parents who got this shit scared out of them. When I first learned to defend myself at the age of 8, I had two bullies ganging up on me. So, he told me go after the big one. I responded, "I'm going to lose." He said, "That's right! You are not going to win and that's ok not to win. But you are not fighting to win. Your goal is pain! How much pain can you inflict on that boy before it's over." He showed me exactly what body parts to attack and don't stop punching those parts no matter. Never stop! I did lose the fight, but no one ever messed with me again. That kid was in bad shape too.
This was the best show. I am so sorry they ended it but yep that is how you deal with some bullies. Send bigger one's to check them. It's learned behavior that goes unchallenged.

I got bullied a lot in middle and high school but had made enough changes by junior and senior year that kids basically left me alone. One day a kid who used to make fun of me (never on his own, always just as part of the group) pulled me aside to apologize for how he treated me. I knew he was not a bad person, he was just trying to fit in with the other kids. I told him it was no big deal but thanks. It was not “no big deal”. It is one of the most important memories of my youth, and one I think back on often.
You said that because your likely particularly sensitive and unlike the shite's that gave you a hard time you actually think about how your actions impact on others. For many who go through such trials it does make you wonder what benefit you gained from it in a Karmic sense? One thing is for sure, bullies do seem to come unstuck mostly...
I was bullied all through elementary and a little through 6th grade until during football practice I tackled the quarter back (one of the main two) hard multiple times.
I had an interesting experience with bullies. There were are group of them in High School, with the usual leader. I was bullied a bit sophomore and junior year. I had problems, but also things to do, so I just avoided them. Escape and Evasion is a legitimate military tactic. Towards the end of junior year, the bully picked on the wrong person and ended up getting a serious beatdown. He missed school for several days and when he came back, everyone had found out. He was much less aggressive after that. I still just avoided him and his group. It inspired me later in life to take up martial arts. I trained for years: mostly Taekwondo, Baguazhang, Arnis and Tai Chi. I have not been bullied since, nor have I had to use the things I learned. I think it has a lot to do with energy, vibe, the way you carry yourself. Martial arts, boxing, that sort of stuff really helps health and quality of life well beyond resolving this issue. In some ways now, I am thankful for all of my past, these disciplines have given much more to me than I lost with a little sneaking around. When in doubt, just find a good reputable teacher and train. Boxing is a great base.
Gratified to see this bully halted before real damage occurs mentally to the victim. Strange but true how the way to stop bullying is to be a bully back!
The only way too stop a bully is too put fear into them stronger than the one they put into you. If they broke your arm, you need too break there leg and take an eye, just how it is.
Terrific show...I came to it late and binged most of the last two seasons. Its the kind of thing you can re-watch every few years and enjoy. That last shot of the last episode...the look on Ray's face.......
I can't deny the thought runs through my mind, but I sure as hell won't say it, let alone let my kids run around being holy terrors. They start bullying, I'll set up a meeting with the parents and the victim and let em know that I've talked to my kids about it, told em knock it off or else if they keep it up, I'd tell who they're bullying I'm giving permission to defend themselves. Alternatively, my kids get bullied, same thing, except I'll make it clear it stops, or my kids gonna defend themselves and put it to an end.
what country is this? Mine you cant without going to jail for defending yourself. You arent allowed to punch back either. It must be solved with the police. Only if they tresspass in your home and want to take your life are you allowed to self-defend.
@@croissantlover1 Just out of curiosity what country are you from? Tbh most crimes under the age of 18 are not taken seriously lol, I'm from London and kids stab each other all the time here, they get a slap on the wrist maybe a couple years in jail at most, once they turn 18 the criminal record gets expunged so the reality is kids get away with an awful lot. Once you start getting tried as an adult, then it becomes serious. 2 kids fighting in the playground is 1 thing, 2 adult men fighting is completely different. That's how the justice system works in most countries, you continuously get a slap on the wrist lulling you into thinking you are getting away with your crimes, until that 1 day where you get the book thrown at you by the Judge and you get 20 years.
I ended my bullying by beating the everliving hell out of one of my bullies. They just pushed me too far one day and I snapped when one of them tried to push me down. I broke is nose, dislocated his shoulder, and gave him a concussion. Interestingly, I didn't get punished. The school wouldn't stop the bullying, but it also didn't do anything to me when I stopped it on my own. Nobody bothered me after that day, and I got to spend my last two years of high school in peace. Bullies only respond to one thing: violence or the threat of it.

Everyone in upper division (7 through 12) knew about it. It actually made the bullying problem better at the school... for a while, at least.

When I was 14, a guy who was 18 in the same class told me he was going to catch me outside of class and beat the crap out of me. During the last class, everyone had already left and I was alone in the room with the math teacher, getting ready to jump out the window and escape through the back. The teacher asked me why I was doing that and I told him. He told me to wait in the room for 15 minutes and then leave through the front, without worrying. He went out and said something to the guy, who never threatened me with anything again. Holy teacher!
A friend of my father did this to a kid that was bullying his son. Paid an older tough kid to take care of the situation. Although it turned out a little darker as the bully ended up in the hospital with a couple of broken bones. Oddly enough he never bullied that man's son again.
I was bullied for quite some time when I was younger. It stays with me to this very day ~ I’m 55 Don’t get me wrong, I’m not quivering in a corner and I took action to ensure I wouldn’t be bullied in the future but damn that Shit stays with you
@@CreakyCricket ~ that’s bad ass! When I was young, if I tried that, I’d have broke my wrist and he’d STILL beat my as. My bullies were all freaks. One was a golden gloves jr boxer, another was a gang banter held back years, the third was an Islander with sons of Samoa. I had no chance. I just took it. Sometimes I look back and wonder what would have happened if I saidfuck it, did swing and break my hand. Sometimes, I’m glad I still have my teeth 😂😂
It does. It does stay with you. Nowadays I try hard not to perpetuate that upon other people, seen as I get defensively agressive (if that makes sense) even when having an arguement. It stays with you.
I had to watch this a few times before I realized he has his front entrance intentionally set up in a way so he can interact with people outside his house while still having a physical barrier they would have to violate if they wanted to touch him.
One of the wisest men I ever met was a man named Steve (he passed decades ago). When I was a kid, he told me, "There's always a bully no matter where you go." I'm 43 and after having travelled extensively, he's been proven soooo right.
This hit home..I got bullied for 2 years from 6th to 7th grade until I figured out that a brick to the face and 52 stitches later issued to that bully it suddenly stopped.
When I was a kid, our teener league baseball team practiced at a small diamond next to an old fire station where we could hit the ball over the fence sometimes. There were smaller kids that would sometimes hide and steal the baseballs from us when we hit them far enough. We knew who they were, and our coach even told their parents. Nothing happened. It would look bad if we did anything to them. So, behind our coaches back, we found some kids their age and paid them a few bucks, some sodas and a couple Star Wars action figures to kick their ass (a few bucks was a lot of money back in the mid 80's). It worked. Never happened again. The scene where ray gets that girl to stick up for his daughter reminded me of that.
In real life there is mothers like that, that pass on bad traits to there kids. The kid sees how the mother uses her brother as protection for her bs behaviour instead of confronting the issue.
I just love that actor. Can watch him all day. They need to hire him and put him in more tv and movies. What a face and mannerism, and at the same time so gentle with his little girl.
When I was a kid I got bullied by a bunch of kids at the bottom of our street. They made my life he'll for months. I was so depressed. It eventually got so bad I told my dad. Which in its self was terrifying. One day dad was out the front cutting the grass when the bullies walked by heading down the street. My dad seen the look of fear on my face and asked of that was them. There must have been about six of them. I told them it was and before I knew it he'd jumped the fence and ran across the road to them. He picked up the leader by the throat and folded him backward over a walk. Told him if he ever even looked at me again he'd Bury him. The rest of the gang had to carry him away crying and my dad went back to cutting the grass. Sure enough they new bullied me again. Everytime they'd see me they'd turn and walk the other way.
They grow up and since they were on top in school they are not adapted to challenges so either they have a rich father or they're gonna just end up the prey of a real bully 😂😂😂
@@mr.tryhardguitarguy2842 those who get bullied adapt to suffering and in the future they have defense against violence. While a bully who has never been stood up to will meet a bigger bully who'd give him a dose of reality which is has zero tolerance to. When you are bullied you either give in and become weak for rest of your life, and let me tell you if you are this type it wouldn't take a bully to make you end up that way. The other ending is that you look at your short comings and develop yourself and forgive yourself, ending up a person who is not only driven but also a person who's has empathy for people and knows how dark and cold the world could be. My son told me he was getting bullied in school by a bigger kid. I asked for his name and it turned out he was the son of one of my very best friends. I told my son I'd take care of it and made a quick call to my friend; told him not to go overboard but please let the kid know mine was one kid not to mess with. Problem solved.
This pissed me off. It sucks so much to have a friend whose parent doesn’t do shit about their child’s behavior, so the kid thinks it’s ok. Happened to me and my “friend.” Can’t help but feel bad for her.🤷♀️
A boy use to bully me my sis and my cousin “ were girls” because we were kinda poor so we had whole apples for lunch one day and we put them plus a few other kids didn’t want in a big ole purse we use to carry to school. At recess we were standing behind the building out of the cold wind “no coats” and here he comes. We beat the crap out of him with the purse full of apples and that was the end of his bulling us😂
I love how he's quiet, polite and smiling and yet absolutely nobody would mistake whats truly being said. I've still not watched this show. I've just seen clips on YT. I suspect something fantastic has flown under the radar. He portrays that role perfectly.
I was bullied for 3 years in elementary school. It was a kid from a nearby village. He was my age but a little bigger. I never even tried to fight back, just wiped off tears and moved on every time. One day on my way home I saw this kid was watching my 2 neighbors fix their car. The second I got there, these idiots told me to fight him "to see who's stronger." Yeah, it was savage like that, it was rural Armenia in the beginning of the 90s. I had nowhere to go, no other choice left and I was soooo offended and frustrated that adults could be such fucking idiots that I beat the living hell out of this poor bastard. I never knew I had it in me. They had to literally physically restrain me or else I was gonna kill the poor fucker. Surprised with what I discovered in myself, I beat this kid again at school every day for like a week, to get my "revenge" and that was it. At such a young age I was able to cmprehend it was a bad thing to do. But thanks to that incident, I also gained ferocious confidence. Anyone would ever hurt me or a loved one, I fucking punished them on the spot. Life was easy after that.
That’s what the adults intended to teach you. If they had protected you, you never would have become strong enough to take care of yourself. Life is tough. Good parents, teachers and other adults will prepare children for it rather than try to shield you from it.
When my boys were kids they were four years apart. The little guy got bounced around by some bigger kids playing WWF wrestling on a trampoline. He came home pretty shaken up. It wasn't the first time the bigger kids bounced him around and he asked me if I could do something. I went to the kids dad and asked him if he could talk to his kids. He told me "sometimes, you gotta let kids work these things out on their own." I asked him if he was sure he wanted to handle it like that and he just shrugged like it wasn't his problem. At the time my older boy was the undefeated heavyweight red division champion of his school. He hit puberty early so he was 5'10", 200 lbs and hairy at 13. I told him to have a word with these guys. Inform them if they ever put a hand on his little brother again, they were both going to get whatever they dolled out. The cops showed up at my house . The kids parents told the cops a man had threatened their children over a play ground scuffle. I introduced both of my sons to the cop and explained it. The two kids were both bigger then my little guy and both a couple years older. My big guy was bigger then all of them and a couple years older again. Later I was in the garage working on something and the kids mom came over in her house coat just out of her mind. I told her to relax. At this point it's your kids one, my kids zero! Your kids did all the beating. I just want you, your husband and especially your boys to know, this has come to an end. If your boys do exactly what my older boy said, you will always be one up on us. If they decide to escalate it any further my older boy will clean house! Are we clear? Never heard from any of them again, ever!
I have fought bullies all my student life , got beaten badly , got my hand fractured during fist fights, tooth broken, hair pulled out but I never gave in to bullies. Now I am a middle aged man and I am teaching my kids the same which is to never bow down to bullies…
Hollywood would only Americanise it and turn it into something completely different away from its unique Australian flavour.... Ray Shoesmith Does New York....no thanks.
A few years back I got a phone call from a local sheriff's deputy. I had a verbal argument over the phone with a realtor in town. She of course called the sheriffs dept and made a false claim that I actually went into their office, screamed at them, threatened them and even overturned desks and such. I laughed at the deputy and asked "anyone have this on video?" He replied "no sir." Then I asked him "did this woman give you a physical description of me?" Again, "no sir." I encouraged the deputy to call them back and ask them to describe me and then call me back. Never heard from him again.

Thing is, if her cop brother had any idea who Ray really was, as soon as he heard his sister say she'd been menaced by Ray he'd have made her family move that day to a safe house. This was such a great series I must have rewatched it 3 times in past couple of years . I really wish they made at least a couple more series 3 was definately not enough . Aussie productions iare often very very good sometimes you find absolute GEMS like this
Many years ago now, my little (12 years old) brother was targeted at our local skatepark by a bigger "tough" guy about his same age, who had the backing of his much older (16 years old) brothers and their crew. I sat somewhere in the middle. This kid stole my brothers board and wouldn't give it back, doing the classic shit like taking off his shirt, getting in my very shy brother's face and generally being a massive punisher. I can still remember looking over at this bloke's brothers and mates - the "head" of the viper and I made eye contact and I could see they were testing us. Could just read it in his face. So I walked over, clobbered the wee fucker square in the face and kicked him up the arse for good measure. Took the board and we left. On the way past, the big lads did nothing - just a wee nod and a few stern words at the younger boy's protestations. I'm now in my late 30s and deeply aware of the fact this is hardly a cool story, and certainly am not proud of hurting someone like that - but like Ray says, sometimes there is such a thing as good violence.
Yeah but in the US if you do something like this, cops might shoot you

@Mike Panel legends say that bully is still laying on that spot.
I was also bullied but the friends of my older sister did it in a friendly and non violent way without anybody getting hurt
why is bullying the offender such a popular way to end it that just reinforces the behavior of the strong preying on the weak

All true but a lot of viewers make a hero vigilante out of Ray when he was just a giant hypocrite. He killed anyone for money no matter what and even worked with the guy he highly suspected had killed the woman he really liked. Ray just reserved the justice hero for small time infractions into his or his friends personal life.
@IDontBuyIt50 you realize when he is asked what he won't do Ray's answer is " if the money is right I will do anything" .And he proves that. You need to rewatch the show. He takes the moral high groundcf.e in his group talks but ignores it whenever it makes him money. He even kills a friend for money and tries to assassinate him at his parents house. That's Ray. Feeds dead women to pigs or ignores that the one woman he bonded is killed after the accident as he gets paid for it,, the list goes on.
Grew up in a small town. Half the crap people say these days and get away with would have been a first class ass kicking not that long ago.

“I don’t answer questions” is now my favourite line, they got puzzled 😅
It was brilliant.
Why is that?
@@christophera3330 it is simple, when he uses his right to refuse and not answer, they cannot do anything to him for using his right to not answer. In other words they got there thinking that they could identify him and then conclude that he is the suspect that harassed the sister of the cop (seen in the beginning of this clip) and give him a warning. But they realized soon enough that this tactic won’t get them anywhere and left the premise. So from now on, if cops come nocking on my door, I won’t answer their questions and only speak in the presence of my lawyer. If you don’t know the law really well, keep it quiet, otherwise you might increment yourself and dig the whole your in even further anytime you add anything to what you already did say…

I was bullied back in highschool.

Eye believe you
I'm with bruh 👍

Elon Musk was bullied so severely that he was actually hospitalized. Guess who got the last laugh. The people who bullied him now are lucky to be sweeping out the floors of one of his companies. THAT is a message worth sending!
I too was bullied. My Dad gave me boxing lessons and I beat up the kid across the street. At the time I felt "victorious" and happy. Not so much now. I will have to have a life recapitulation during my "time to pass." I'm sure I will have to relive beating him up. Then, it won't be so great. At all.

This,
Contradictory everywhere
Calls him mate when she doesn't wanna be called love, and straight up tries to intimidate and threaten him with her cop brother.

That kind of parenting creates spoilt, horrible children.

Alternatively, my kids get bullied, same thing, except I'll make it clear it stops, or my kids gonna defend themselves and put it to an end.

Mr Inbetween is right up there with Underbelly, Bikie Wars, and Blue Murder.
Ray's little chuckle when she says "don't be a dickhead" 💀😅
Mr Inbetween is hands down one of the most f***ing amazing series I have ever seen.
One of the best shows ever, I loved it. Should make a Hollywood motion picture about him, I’d pay good $ to see it
Hollywood would only Americanise it and turn it into something completely different away from its unique Australian flavour....
Seriously can’t get enough of this character. Props to the writer, props to the actor. This is one of the only shows in recent memory that I’m dying to see in its entirety
The writer and the actor are the same person. One of the best shows I've seen in a long time. Been through it three times now.
@@mikeincanada_ I had no clue, Scott Ryan is a legend
@@mikeincanada_ why does this guy keep getting cooler the more you tell me 😂😂 he came out of nowhere just to say “by the way this is how you make television, how you act too”
This was a truly fantastic show, I wish it had had more seasons.
Thing is, if her cop brother had any idea who Ray really was, as soon as he heard his sister say she'd been menaced by Ray he'd have made her family move that day to a safe house.
It would have been an awkward moment when she's being interviewed for the third time by Organised Crime detectives that she finally admits she made up the threats, after they point out that her stories details keep changing.
God damn love this scene. "I don't answer questions." is a perfect response.
