He can't enjoy normal things because hes had all the time in the world to enjoy them instantly. And to be in his time warp is to truely be alone as no one can interact. I think its one of the greatest scenes ever written and the happy melancholy of the music just tops it off with such beauty.

I love the stopwatch bit in Equalizer. He's gameplanned these sequences in his mind down to predicting how many seconds it will take.
