As several people here have mentioned, even people with training can consistently miss in real life-or-death situations. The reason is that even training under pressure can't simulate the threat of imminent death. The only way to train for these situations is to be in these situations and that carries a certain risk of mortality.

The beginning is just crazy. He dissed the shi t outta him mad times. He said do not let it fool ya.The smile he had the whole time on his face made this AWESOME.
The irony is that he didn't really diss them. Said the guy needed a shave (which doesn't really insult his basic appearance, just the current state of his facial hair) and to be less surly (which isnt demeaning him personally, just criticizing his bad attitude), and that he needed better drinking buddies (And I mean, come on, look at them. Theys outlaws.). Mild insults at best, especially after what the guy had just called him.
@2be Blunt No, it's that if he drank the whiskey at that point, it would make him a robber, as opposed to simply having shot down men in self defense (which is not immoral). The whiskey was not his- he was attempting to buy some, but now that the bartender is dead, he cannot. Buster is an extremely moral guy- he only kills in self defense when threatened or challenged, doesn't steal, and doesn't even provoke the guy with real "fighting words". And he doesn't take pleasure in killing people, despite his smile. He's just very matter-of-fact about it, which a lot of people confuse for enjoyment. He's an interesting character. He's not a good guy, because he isn't very merciful, but he is moral. If you don't cross him, you'd never have anything to fear.
@@jadedandbitter idk, about self defense. The guy pulled his shirt back showing that he had a weapon, for all we know he may of planned to use it or may have been a scare tactic/bluff. Then the other proceeded to kill everyone in the bar. Not know the true intentions. Then with the bartender, he reached for his rifle and the other guy shot first, so it most definitely was an action of self defense, yet he got shot dead while being innocent to the situation.
@@joshuacunningham4686 So the first guy to get shot displayed a firearm, put his hand on it, and made a threatening comment, indicating that he intended to draw on him. A police officer will shoot you if you put your hand on a firearm with intent to use it on him. The other guys were only shot when they attempted to draw, and the bartender wasnt involved in the fight, so his actions werent self defense. Being that he only went for it in response to buster being a threat, its clear he intended on using it to assist the other men, and Buster knew it, hence him getting shot as well. Had he not reached for a firearm, he would not have been shot. Same for everybody else there.

Best one, always been one of my favourites, is Tom cruise at the 2min mark, Mozambique techniques two dudes, starting with two body shots from the hip, switching targets and this time can aim, wins hearts and minds, two to the heart, one to the mind… and then finishes his second Mozambique technique on the dude he shot first. I loved that so much it’s what got me into shooting drills.
Someone mentioned Tom Cruise having to train for weeks to get that 'comfortable' at handling his gun. That sounds true. The actor Jack Palance played the "bad guy" in the western "Shane." (He was too good as a psycho, no wander he did such a good Dracula later.) He was noticed to have used every spare moment on the set practicing his quickdraw technique. At the end of the shooting schedule the "western specialist," (these films have people on set who have actually done what goes on in the movie's script, such as wrangle cattle, scouted in the wilderness, etc, [indeed, there is a persistent rumour that the real Wyatt Earp was one such for some early silent Hollywood westerns,]) said that Palance had become very good in his shooting technique. Practice makes perfect.
Quick draws actually did happen during the Wild West - maybe not quite exactly as in the movies, but there is at least one confirmed moment between the gamblers Hickok and Tutt, who threatened each other from a distance and then fired simultaneously, which ended up killing Tutt. This is very similar to the quick draw duels in wild west movies, and there have most certainly been several other simiular situations like that.
They actually perfered shooting people in the back or ride bys but you are correct about hickock and his dual legend has it as 100 yards through the heart
Okay so I have to say this. The new series 1883, is maybe the best Western movie/TV series ever made. It's absolutely gritty and intense and makes you squirm in your seat, and it's almost hard to watch some scenes. But the gun fights in 1883, are so ridiculous they are the WORST gun fights I've ever seen, even worse than a highschool film. The guys fire about 100 rounds at eachother with pistols, up close, and nobody gets hit with a stray bullet. It's SO stupid. I can't believe that Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan (genius) would do such unrealistic shooting.
@@Ritalie you need to take into account that not everyone could afford a gun at that time let alone practise using up expensive bullets. So those that did were not crack shots. The cheaper guns were used to intimidate and tended to explode more often than fire a bullet. When they did have bullets in them and used them in Ernest it was with a hope and a prayer they would hit their intended target or at the very least scare them off. Mix in easy access to cheap alcohol, which was often a substitute for water and it all becomes a shit show. Passersby, people watching through windows, and animals suffered the greatest casualties. You tended to kill your opponent by clubbing them with the gun rather than shooting them with it.
@@Ritalie the same show that had a white teenage girl actually fall in love with some random Indian she just met, and her father being okay with it lol? Wildly unrealistic.
Actually quick draw in the wild west was a myth. It's an actual fact that the "west" was far less wild than people think. Statistically its more wild nowadays. Maybe stop peddling that wild west quick draw bullshit. Cause it isn't a thing.

@@arnikmittal7651 John Wick fans exclaiming the realism by pointing out the ammo and ignoring everything else unrealistic about the entire movie. Oh wow they counted the ammo omg what an achievement.
It'd be pretty damn stupid to shoot more than 7 considering earlier in the movie they made a big deal about 1 million dollars a round (7 million total) for John to get the gun
@@CorelUser getting closer to fire a shot for more accuracy while the other guy is at a disadvantage because he just ran out of ammo isn't unrealistic. Especially when you know you might miss, and if John manages to reload, he won't. So you need it to hit on the first shot. You also need to hit a small area, because you know that John has those special suits that are all bulletproof, and you're a random goon who doesn't have John Wick level aim.
The first one is a perfect full-on demonstration of the classic Hollywood Cowboy quick draw. My dad being an old Hollywood Stunt man had it pretty well had it mastered and had a pair of Hollywood single action Colt Prop guns that were real, functional Colt 45s cut and weighted to do the spins and cross-hand toss. He also had a big bag of Disney blanks with "loud report, fire and smoke" just like in the clip.
Anyone who knows shit about tactical shooting, knows Collateral’s alley scene was one of the finest executions of shooting from retention and the Mozambique drill ever put to film.

I think the Jesse duel was the perfect way to display his character progression over the course of Breaking Bad. Early to even mid-show Jesse wouldve naively died trying to fairly quick draw that man in a show of honor. But this is a Jesse who has been cheated and abused around every corner, and has seen too many benefits to simply and using anyone trying to live by values when your future is on the line. That kind of conviction only comes from experience. Also those guys were douchebags lol

Tom Cruise did a quick draw in the real or more b(mechanically correct way. He has to lean back and to the right, dropping his shoulder too for faster draw and make sure he clears the holster. Always impressive.
I like the way that you put this all together; makes me want to re-watch a few of these. You don't waste time adding in too much scene and I know that epstein did not kill himself.
Thanks man!
This comment so funny
@@jeus_cnt its how matter of factly it is just at the end lmfao.
@Ronald Reed I'm assuming you mean 'book' instead of 'blood.' And if you believe that fat ass and the bullshit in his book, you're not only the fool, but rather a complete and total moron. Let's go Brandon
@Leonard Rickvery easy to believe they overlooked it bc they hated him. Also it’s very likely he did kill himself bc why the FUCK would he wait for prison just to be assassinated. No goddamn way.
The beginning is just crazy. He dissed the shi t outta him mad times. He said do not let it fool ya.The smile he had the whole time on his face made this AWESOME.
What's the name of the film, please?
2:00 In that collateral shooting scene that guy on the right has spot on reaction that you'd see in quick situations with unprofessional people.
2:00 gotta be one of the most realistic sounding gun shot(s) I’ve heard in a movie that wasn’t a documentary or anything
I just like his wording and how he phases things, his cavalier demeanor. But yet so fast.
That punisher scene tho. The way he moved while he shot, so realistic on a training standpoint for movement
Absolutely loved that scene in El-Camino. The tension/suspense was amazing.
Man you picked some real fantastic scenes to start this compilation off with! Thought it couldn't get better then starting off with Buster, then Collateral came on... and while I was still pondering how impressed I was with your scene choice, Django started up. Well done my friend... WELL done! Great choices
Thanks my friend!
@@Benjy1 very well 👏
Best one, always been one of my favourites, is Tom cruise at the 2min mark, Mozambique techniques two dudes, starting with two body shots from the hip, switching targets and this time can aim, wins hearts and minds, two to the heart, one to the mind… and then finishes his second Mozambique technique on the dude he shot first. I loved that so much it’s what got me into shooting drills.
3:40 oh my fucking god his voice. I half-expected him to go all, "I'm Batman" on them. Get's me every time
Honestly the collateral scene was just very smooth, I genuinely was taken aback at the speed of the draw and accuracy.
I love that brief moment in Mission Impossible when August Walker shows the slightest approval for Ethan saving the officer.
I think his approval is for ethan killing the 4 men…
@@flynnzilla8796Still, the cop was just doing her job, gotta give Ethan credit for saving her life
Someone mentioned Tom Cruise having to train for weeks to get that 'comfortable' at handling his gun.
He's a strange cat, but ya got to give Cruise his props. One of the best in the bizz.
Man! The tension in the Mission Impossible and El Camino scenes was thick. Great film making and another great list.
Thank you!
really hate that show, every time you google el camino instead of finding the car you find that trash
@@0Heeroyuy01 you have a shitty opinion That show is the best Tv series of all time
First time I watched el camino, that shoot out reminded me of old Clint Eastwood films. Low and behold that's what inspired that scene. Clint outsmarted one of his villains by giving him a gun with no bullets, and Jesse outsmarted his by having a hidden gun.

7:09 Legit one of my favourite things about the John Wick franchise. John fires seven shots, the clip is empty. None of this normal Hollywood shit where the protagonist has infinite ammo until suddenly it's convenient for his gun to be empty. Seven shots, we're done here.
Yep. Seven shots then he has to take a guy down to get more
@@CorelUser John Wick fans try not to reveal they enjoy unrealistic Hollywood action challenge (impossible difficulty)
MAN, the second guy's voice tho! "You ain't no outlaw" that sounded sooo good
the ballad of buster scruggs was so good, i just watched it again a couple weeks ago
Man that shot sounds in Collateral never gets old... They are still by far the best sounding shots I ever heard in a Movie.

What I liked about Buster Scruggs is the slight delay in firing each shot to aim at each guy.
1:07 I like how you can see the light through the hole xD
The first one is a perfect full-on demonstration of the classic Hollywood Cowboy quick draw. My dad being an old Hollywood Stunt man had it pretty well had it mastered and had a pair of Hollywood single action Colt Prop guns that were real, functional Colt 45s cut and weighted to do the spins and cross-hand toss. He also had a big bag of Disney blanks with "loud report, fire and smoke" just like in the clip.
Buster Scruggs was such a fantastic movie. Damn underrated too. Love it

I thought him quite annoying. So it is a no from me.
the sun shines through the bullet wound in the bartender for a moment. really neat

I thought it was hilarious how weird buster Scruggs was, and then he just fired off those shots super fast and accurately
Collateral is one of the MOST underrated action films, and THE most underrated Tom Cruise film
Anyone who knows shit about tactical shooting, knows Collateral’s alley scene was one of the finest executions of shooting from retention and the Mozambique drill ever put to film.
Or just see how Keanu Reeves trained for John Wick, totally awesome, which just shows, that if actors put enough training into a movie, it makes it look all the more awesome :)
No is not, the reason he won it's because the other guy was to slow at the draw.

When you need to shoot shoot don't talk
Yepp i remember sitting in traffic on a smaller road. Guy was blabbering on the side of the road. Unsure what was said, but he turned quickly toward the guy in front, pulled his shirt up to show a gun on his belt and express quite loud 'FUK YA GONNA DO WIGGER'. 2 seconds after bang bang guy in the front of the car had draw his C&C and put 2 bullets in him. No talking, no messing around.
Turns out the guy on the street was some kind of gang member with a unregistered firearm. The guy in front of me, retired police officer.

Right. He was my favorite. Especially the surly joe scene
No it wouldn't.
sclogse1 yes it would,
I think the Jesse duel was the perfect way to display his character progression over the course of Breaking Bad. Early to even mid-show Jesse wouldve naively died trying to fairly quick draw that man in a show of honor. But this is a Jesse who has been cheated and abused around every corner, and has seen too many benefits to simply and using anyone trying to live by values when your future is on the line. He knew what he agreed to would be bad for him when it was another guy who proposed the duel, so he did what he had to so that all that he had suffered wouldnt go to waste. That kind of conviction only comes from experience. Also those guys were douchebags lol
They really need to bring out Buster Scruggs again but this time for the whole movie.
It honestly sucks that it would have to be a prequel though, but it would be awesome to see what he did that got him his bounty
