the fact he didn't kill everyone in the first film really shows how much he was just letting quill get away with stuff.
@Ban this youtube Hell, Yondu was even proud of Quill for doing it. For one, he demanded 'that orb', not the 'stone', and never bothered to confirm the orb he was demanding had the Stone in it until he thought about there being MULTIPLE orbs later. So he had no reason to go after him over it technically... Peter had kept his word, and Yondu had to keep his. He also knew Quill didn't fool him to make a starhaulerload of units, he was gonna hand the Infinity Stone over to people he thought would keep it safe from the wrong hands.
Add in that the orb had a cute little decorative figure of the sort Quill knew Yondu liked collecting also showed that Quill meant no disrespect with the switch, he was just doing what he knew was right, and the gift was a kind of apology for the lie.
When he opened up the orb he'd demanded and saw that troll figure inside he realized to his bemusement that somehow, his grumpy criminal ass managed to raise up a genuine, bona fide hero, and that despite their seeming difference, that hero still loved and respected him as a father figure.
@@GuukanKitsune Bro you’re gonna make me cry at 2 in the morning
@@GuukanKitsune And as they establish at the end of the first one, Yondu isn't above breaking a deal when the buyer is a @$%hole. Anyone who would want the stone was probably not someone you'd want to have it, and probably the sort to tie up loose ends after getting it, so he figured Quill had probably saved him a *lot* of hassle.
Here’s another thing, that Troll Doll was with Quill when he was abducted, he probably treasured it like his Walkman. And given how close they were, Yondu probably knew that. Sure Quill took the stone, but he left, what was to him one of his most treasured possessions. His way of saying “I can’t let you do this but I still care about you.”
This arrow is punching through ship hulls and battle plate.
Explain to me how the fuck ANYONE is supposed to be a threat to this man lmao
1:04 Anyone else notice how they all stopped dead in their tracks as soon as they hear Yondu whistle. They KNEW they were all screwed 😂😂
Some people think its dumb because they couldve EASILY shot yoni and rocket in that moment, there were like, 30 of them and not a single one thought to fire their weapon
But in my opinion? It just showcases just how terrifying Yondu's Arrow is, it was so efficient at what it does that if an enemy hears yondu whistle, theyre practically as good as dead
I think they even let out a gasp when they stopped. Like the second they heard him whistle, they knew immediately.

There’s something I just realized that makes this scene so much more satisfying. When Ego plays a song that Meredith Quill liked, he’s doing it to manipulate Peter. He has to explain in painstaking detail how he and Peter are the Sailor in the song “Brandy” and how they live on a higher plane of existence where they cannot get the girl. When Yondu plays a song that Meredith Quill enjoyed, he’s doing it to honor Peter. He also doesn’t need to say a single word to make it clear that he is José in “Come a Little Bit Closer”. He’s going to enjoy every bloody minute of his revenge against the mutineers for killing all crew members who remained loyal even in the face of Yondu’s continued protection of his boy. Also, José gets the girl while the sailor leaves her stranded.
I'll try to remember you, if I ever make a video discussing this scene

What a cinematic masterpiece it was. The moment when the low keys of the opera was played and yondu and rocket were enjoying the killing with the arrow kicking the ass of everyone really defines what a cinematic masterpiece it is
one thing Guardians always never fails to do right is integrate music into scenes perfectly, that alone already makes scenes 100 times better but Guardian's sound track always has the right song for the scene and that song tells you exactly what the member/s are feeling in that exact moment.
I know it’s Yondu’s moment, but having Rocket and Groot there makes it ten times better, if any of the guardians deserved to be in this awesome scene it’d be them. Perfect mix of the natural storyline and a great stand alone scene.
I just love the dude running in terror from a 6 inch tall Groot.
You know what makes this scene even more badass? Rocket doesn't quite have Yondu's fin on when the guys walk in. That means the conversation between Rocket and Yondu immediately before this scene started must have been "Start the music. Are you sure? I haven't quite got the fin on yet. Yeah, start it up, they ain't gonna have enough time."
I read this in their voices and now I wish they actually had this dialogue in the movie. Would have been hilarious and bad ass.
They gave them a head start
@@madmanwebster94 facts I could totally see Yondu saying that
It's even cooler when you realize Quill is most likely the one who got Yondu into music, especially pre fight 💯
It's still a bit chilling to stop and think that even in a world with Thanos, The Infinity Stones, and all the rest... Yondu still managed to be one of the probably top 5 most catastrophically lethal things around.
well, because the writers decided in this great scene that it is cool. If one of the hundred guys here would shot at him instead of standing around and staring, he would be dead. There is a lot of staring and waiting for the arrow in this scene. Also nobody is shooting after being hit with the arrow, which is also unlikely
@@vanivari359 I know, and also he has blue skin, unrealistic right?? I like me space fantasy to be REAL

I LOVE how at 2:36, he could have just killed the guys running away with the Yaka arrow. Instead, he uses the arrow to cut the spaceship loose from above them, and it crushes them. I laugh every time I watch that part, and the amusement he took in dispatching all those who took part in the mutiny.
And the fact it looks like the arrow itself decided to do that almost like it went "Nope, I've got a funnier idea."
And at 2:40 It goes through the guy's mug like "Fuck your beer. Now die!" The second part being when it comes back.

Never understood any of the hate or distaste for this movie. It’s probably one of the best comic book movie’s of all time, you can tell everyone was having a good making it. Rewatching all the guardian films has made me even more appreciative of James Gunn for his style, it just feels like you’re watching a comic come to life.
Also can we please praise this move for its job at giving everyone meaning screen time? Like everyone of the characters got something that made you connect with them more in a way that does feel forced or overdone.
This is supposed to be humorous, but damn, that is actually a terrifying weapon. He could have soloed the guardians easily if they didn't know him.
He could’ve solo’d basically anyone, the only exceptions being the very powerful people like Cap/Bucky if they had the reaction speed, Strange if he knew what was coming, Tony if he also knew what he was getting into and maybe Ant man but that’s a stretch. Nothing can convince me the call that James Gunn talks about that he had with the producers of Endgame and Infinity war wasn;'t about yondu's lack of involvement in the movies. Literally no one would care about hawkeye if they had a guy who could do this in an avengers movie.
He basically says he got a call and chose to switch out Gamora for Yondu after talking to the Russo's. Gamora's involvement was supposed to be minimal which is why gamora is barely in vol 3 becuase gunn wrote the scripts with "the avengers movies in mind" but not based off of whatever the russos and kevin wanted. Nothing can convince me he didn't get a call to kill yondu lol.
James Gunn is an amazing director and filmmaker.......He thinks into the future and also gets us to see the characters in depth and with humor!
This will remain the coolest MCU moment for me, just so badass, and show why Yondu was as respected as he was.
The thing I like about this movie is that they made you able to notice those background people. The ones that's stabbed by the arrow here are there on screen on the "Taserface bully" scene. And they really stand out at that moment, and still stand out pretty well on this part.
Similarly, Baby Groot gets his revenge on Retch (the bald guy who tortured him by pouring alcohol on him and screaming in his face); while Gef (the bearded guy with goggles who wanted to smash Baby Groot with a rock) first gets his beer mug shattered, then the arrow doubles back to kill him.

one of the best realistic characters in the MCU.,, you will be remembered..
I love James Gunn's low-budget goofiness mixed with actually really good and high-end CG and effects.
The Perfect Combination
i love how everyone just hears muffled music and like
"somethings wrong"
Somethings wrong, I can feel it
A definition of "When you hear boss music."
That's why Tazerface realized that "Yondu's got the fin!!" That specific music must have been played at some point before in a similar situation, or something.
Then Tazerface: *HES GOT THE FIN!!!!*
everyone on the ship: *oh fuck....*
this is the best scene in the whole mcu
James Gunn...look at that magic you made 😊🙌
He is a great whistler. Imagine him having 100 arrows that work in synch with him. Damn, that would be a mass genocide.
Oh, them whistle contest be dangerous.
God level 999999999999999999999
I'd love to see Yondu in a whistling contest!
100 is ridiculous.
In the comics he carries 20.
@@skankhunt-wy9wy 20 is good. Still a massacre no matter how many Yondu has...
Superman says, “bring it on boy”.
It's raining men 😂😂😂
Hallelujah!
This is one of the best scenes in the MCU. GOTG movies I will watch over the others.
I love the fact that yondu has one of the highest body counts of any of the marvel movies and has smile and fun while doing it lol
📸🤨

Ayo Yondu got the rizz
This scene is packed full of incredible shots. I especially love the face reaction shots at 1:19. I think it takes a deft hand to make dozens of murders in a PG-13 movie work while being both satisfying to the story and funny and this scene nails it.
dont forget the wilhelm scream at 1:19 as well
I liked the guy that got his beer glass shattered, then got his midsection shattered a moment later.
One of the coolest scene in the history of MCU ❤️🔥
One of the best scenes out of all the marvel movies
This is awesome and funny at the same time so it’s definitely one of my favorite scenes!
Shooting though walls like that with pinpoint accuracy shows that Rocket has genuinely superhuman positional awareness.
He's not human tho
He's a trash panda
@@revenantgaming6438 It’s easier to say than "superraccoonish".
Rocket saw the guy coming from one of the monitors. They were in the camera filled security room
@@bjsdemon Right, but he shot through a door that was 90 degrees off to one side without looking down the sights. He had to work out in his head exactly where to aim and did it perfectly.
Marvel cant find a way to nerf him before Infinity war so they just remove him.
That's basically what they did to Hulk too.
They could have kept him in and had the arrow not be able to pierce Thanos' skin. Then in a callback to the Infinity Gauntlet series have Thanos remove his mouth.
Not everything is about powers or power scale.
@@peterfrank3365 ah yes a barret m82 hits with 13,000 foot pounds of energy which is probably a few hundreds times the kinetic energy of this arrow but hey it would be a much shorter movie if Thanos just got one shot. Or maybe the most advanced civilization on earth could upgrade their cloaks and spears to say oh a comprehensive air defense system to down those alien space ships they definitely have knowledge of and should be preparing for but then there wouldn't be a cool ground battle. Or imagine this arrow except the size of a light pole and x1000.
@@whatsmolly5741 lol right!? All I could think of was how effective War Machines conventional weapons were. If only they had had the standard military weapons of any other country....
I love how good some of these shots are. I always enjoy it when tv, comics, and movies just have really nice shots and artistry.
This is literally one of the best scene of Guardians🎉🎉
Yudo is such charming😊
The music in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies are so well orchestrated in ways you would have never thought older music would work in such a film. Can we give a shout out to those music editors and producers for this gem. Also the switch between a boosted radio and a more dramatic 4th wall epic beat at 2:25 is amazing.
You know song?
@@kaczoreuropejski582 Jay and the Americans - "Come a little bit closer" ... although, they have an edit halfway through into an opera with heavy electric guitars. So I imagine there's a version specifically for this movie.
2:41 this moment 😂😂
For tazorface
The Guardians movies had a certain style unlike the Avengers movies.
For those wondering, yes Michael Rooker really did the whistling. He had to learn how to whistle with the fake teeth in. Confirmed it when meeting Rooker at C2E2 2022
Notice how brave they are until they hear him whistle and realize they just made a huge mistake. Classic.\
Edit: Ty all for my first comment passing 1.2K
I would make a flo rida joke but he rely blew their whistle eh hahaha
Notice how useless he is without his arrow, anyone can take him down

Well this puts thanos to shame.
Yondu really does have like the best weapon ever. Imagine if he got more arrows.

absolutely no one...
