For people who are not sure if you have a button on the laptop to disable Wifi. You can also use FN and one of the F keys to enable flight mode, that disables Wifi
I totally agree! Stuff their "365" software contracts too. I'm still using my old 2010 copy of Microsoft Office. It's more than adequate for regular home users.

For those who doesn't have the wifi key on their keyboard. You can turn off wifi from the BIOS settings as well. Thats what I did and it works great. Thanks a lot for the simple tutorial. This video is still relevant and it works great.

That time I got the old familiar page where you put in a user name and can leave password blank if you want. It was a little different than in your video, but the results were the same. I love it! I don't want an MS account and I don't want to log in all the time! Still works, June 28, 2023.
Every time before I sell one of my gaming pc’s. Before the buyer came to my house I would reset windows from fresh and then use a dummy Microsoft account so I can get into windows and show them the pc works but now I know I don’t have to do that no more. Great video
Amazing! Another way is right before connecting to a network, there’s a option on the bottom left that says “I don’t have Internet”. Once you click there, that’s it! It skips straight to the “who’s going to use this PC” screen. 👌🏼
Easy mode version: Disconnect the network cable before you turn the computer on or install Windows 10. If your computer has wifi (laptops, etc.), then just select "I don't have internet" when the screen with the wifi networks pops up. You can always join a wifi network after you've finished the initial setup of Windows.
Thanks, was in the middle of reinstalling Windows 10 and it looked like there was no option to sign in without a Microsoft account and then I found this video. I just yanked out the USB wifi device on the desktop and followed the instructions here. Thanks

Even if your Internet connection is already off, Windows will automatically take you to the sign in screen, and make you think you have to sign in. That was a really sneaky trick they pulled.

For those who cannot disable the wifi through laptop switch or the laptop button for airplane mode there is also a 3rd option. press Shift + F10 to enter in cmd . and run " netsh interface set interface "Wi-Fi" admin=disable " after proceeding to windows interface you can open again cmd and run netsh interface set interface "Wi-Fi" admin=enable, to enable it again

I kinda skipped near the end. I took your advice and sort of did my own version. To be clear to some people; My Acer has the function key, but also that wifi symbol as f2. I thought I would have to push the function key then f2, but nope, just the f2 turned on Airplane mode. Then I started going back, that didn't exactly work, but anyway, it let me finish without actually entering any password or PIN, so after I was done, then I went in and connected to my WiFi.
