    I like using Rufus to make the bootable USB drive. Just download the ISO and then apply it. No need for the media creation tool. Also Rufus can remove hardware requirements, bypass privacy questions, remove online account requirements, and set local account if you choose to do all that. It's also great at creating bootable USB Linux images. I have 1 USB for openSUSE Leap 15.6 and one for W11_23h2

      May I recommend Ventoy so you can have 1 USB for all ISO files you'd need.
      It's a very handy USB tool. I have several ISO files of my own creation.
      Stock Windows XP vista 7 8 10 & 11
      Modded/DeBloated version
      Server versions (mainly 10-11)
      And many versions of Linux
      Manjaro Ubuntu Kububtu Fedora Pop os
      Nobara Mint arch.
      Very convenient for testing and repairs. 128gb USB helps alot. And they're not too expensive either.

    Dude, where have you been hiding all these years?! This is a great tutorial! I've been testing this for the past two days before leaving my comment. I have a few PC laying around that I use exclusively to test new software and configurations. I uninstall and install back Windows with this XML file, test a few different software, run some benchmarks, among other settings. I also used this on my gaming laptop with a 7th generation Intel CPU. Meaning, my gaming laptop does not qualify for a Windows 11 upgrade. I've been playing my games for the past two days without any hiccups. I can tell anyone without a shadow of a doubt that this is legit. In fact, all PCs run faster than before. I love it! So, I included this XML file in all my Medicat Windows ISO files and now I have an even better Medicat tool. I can reset my clients' PCs faster and more efficiently. Thank you! Becareful guys if you have more than 1 hard drive attached. Don't copy his exact setting. You must not touch the default setting "Partition the disk interactively during Windows Setup" if you have 2 or more drives attached. Because if you choose his setting selecting GPT etc... it will just choose disk0 and start installing from the very beginning until it finishes without stop and you will not have a chance to abort at anytime. I made the mistake of trying to see if my Ventoy even works and it just installed on my backup drive without any prompt.

      @@CyberCPU I've also had a portable (yes, it is) Win10 install decide to rewrite the file table on an attached USB drive that was formatted in a previous century -- Win10 does NOT like the older NTFS format and WILL nuke and replace it. This rendered all the data on that drive unreadable. I expect Win11 does the same. After that adventure, Win1x never again touches an older system in my house unless ALL the other drives have been disconnected first. (See also the problem with rewriting the volume label on floppies, rendering them unreadable, but for that there is the NoVolTrack fix.)
      Portable? I've found Win10 will tolerate an installed HD being moved between systems (this one has been through at least six, not even same era hardware), and at most it may tweak some drivers. I imagine Win11 will do likewise, but haven't yet tried it.

    Astounding !! I did it and it works amazingly, even on an 8 year old laptop.
    After a year on Linux and desperately trying to escape Windows, I keep fining there are certain softwares that are only windows friendly even with WINE.
    The whole idea of a virtual machine on Linux sort of defeats the purpose, so I have reluctantly bitten the bullet and returned to the devil.

    Schneegans is pronounced "Schnee +‎ Gans" ("she-knee" spoken as one syllable and then "gans" sounding like Hans with a G like Gun instead of H) which means in German a female "Snow Goose" as a proper noun (Schnee means Snow and Gans means Goose) or "Silly Goose" as a slightly slang version.
    As for why the website is named as such, well it's because the owner's last name is Schneegans, Christoph Schneegans.
    Follow the "Persons" link on the site's main page, run it through Translate if you sprich kein deutsch :)

    You've done a great job with your RUclips channel and as a system builder and old computer refurbisher I applaud your efforts! You're obviously very knowledgeable and I love the candid approaches! I would like to see (or if you have a good tested method) for REinstalling Win11 Pro on an unsupported machine (i.e., no secure boot, no TPM 2.0) on a previous install of Win11 Pro so that files, installed programs, current settings, etc. are not lost. This would be to repair a currently damaged Win11 Pro install where there are likely more issues than corrupt system files. A regular attempt to reinstall Win11 Pro on an unsupported machine seems to abort when the server finds that it doesn't meet the requirements (though Win11 Pro was running perfectly before, including updates, etc.) This would be extremely helpful to all of us if it's possible -- or is that not possible??? Keep up the great work and thank you! ...Jeff

    9:01 So what if you a windows license product code that's already activated on the PC you're installing it on? Any time I do a clean install windows I don't bother entering a product code since it just automatically activates it self once I go online with it. Will this step change this if it's using a "generic product key?"

    • @mrdenpes1309
      @mrdenpes1309 4 месяца назад +2

      I have the same question :P edit: I did find a way to find the original product key of your computer, use command line (cmd) as administrator, and use the following command " wmic path softwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey " ( without the quotes obviously) . That will give you the product key of your windows license.

    • @adrnik19

      you can bind the license to your Microsoft account

    • @fragalot
      @fragalot 4 месяца назад +1

      @@adrnik19 Yes which is what i believe had happened in the past with all of my licenses keys at some point in the past in the Windows 8 era. Even though I'm not using a Microsoft account currently on my PCs. Even then doing clean installs i never have to enter in a product key, and it's a retail product key. It just works. If i build a new PC i buy a new key, but then at some point it reverts to that default key at some point but I don't login to my Microsoft account.

    None of those "apps" are actually installed unless you try to use them. They "bloat" you are removing is minimal and has literally no effect unless you run the app and decide to use them. Using a VM that is not connected to the internet is a bad example as pretty much all these apps will be "reinstalled" once connecting to the web. Autounattend files are great, don't get me wrong, and can be used for a good deal of customization and automation, but it's better to actually script installing the apps you want with a powershell script after first login. The "debloat" fad is a clickbait theme that really has no relevance on modern hardware.

    Regarding power tools, I could not agree more. Serious injury is one complacent moment away. I myself came millimetres from cutting in of my thumb only a couple of years ago on a power saw.
    Safety with these things is a state of mind. You have to pause before every movement and consider where your hands are in relation to spinning cutting blades.
    The comments about being in ER very much resonate with me. I've been to ER a few times myself and also with other people and noted that whenever you do, there are always at least a couple of other blokes there nursing hand injuries from tools.
