First off thank you for the videos I enjoy them. With regards to CCleaner I have to disagree as a technician of 16 years the CCleaner Registry Cleaner is the only one that I've ever trusted and use and I've had zero issues with it. Yes the performance difference is negligible but still it's nice to get rid of that stuff that doesn't need to be on there. As far as being worried about a deleting some necessary key that's what system restore points are for.
Completely agree, I have been a systems builder for 20 years, I still to this day use a Piriform edition of Ccleaner with never an issue using Regclean. NEVER !
When referring to ExplorerPatcher: "Personally I think Microsoft should just work with this developer to integrate this program into Windows 11 once and for all." I'm sorry, but has anyone not realized that all of Windows 11's problems (actually, it's very existence I would argue) stem from how much hubris that garbage company has?
My Windows 11 machine uses passive cooling so I don't have a need for the fan control program but I do use Open Hardware Monitor to see what the cpu temperatures are doing.
I'm sure there will be. Luckily right now the only people that have to worry about it are people using ARM CPUs. I plan to stay on top of it and cover disabling it once x86 systems start to get the AI features.
There's scripts you can run to disable Co-Pilot and search highlights, bing from search, etc, I used Chris Titus utility for that, just select the options you want also there's other tools like Shutup10/11 and many others.
Am I the only one who was looking for the scar on his thumb throughout the video? 😶🌫... Looks like the thumb-tuck procedure was a resounding success! lol. Thanks for the great video too.
Great advice, thank you! What I would like to see brought back to Windows is the 'Search' box in Explorer. Why on Earth this was removed, I have no idea? In previous windows you could open up any directory within Explorer and search for a specific file via the little 'Search Box' on the top right corner. Now it has just vanished and is replaced with an empty space. If something has been filed in the wrong directory somewhere, how are you meant to find it?
I have been using fan control for a while, it is fantastic, if like me, you hate unnecessary noise, it is perfect. My computer was very very noisy before and now it is completly silent while browsing and extremly quiet when gaming. This is done without sacrificing any performance. I use really advance curve for each fan depending on high cpu load or high gpu load.

Ok, it'll detect the best driver for the hardware but what about the operating system? So far my new laptop works just fine despite it's drivers being outdated. Why bother fixing what isn't broken? Rich - Did Dell call you to tell you I just bought a new Windows 11 laptop? Either way, these apps will be beneficial. - I do love Mondays! Thanks Rich!
From my humble experience don't and never use - no matter how outdated they are - other Windows drivers than the computer's hardware's manufacturer/developer! Don't say I didn't warn you!😢 The only feature I use and like very much of CCleaner is that it can delete whatever restore point in Windows, especially when you use Win Aero Tweaker which has one of plethora of tweaks out of which is to force Windows to do more restore points than Windows actually does by default.
There are situations when you need to roll back a driver. For example, same games break after a driver update, and the only way to play is to roll back. Even some CAD software can break after driver updates.

I strongly prefer the centered Taskbar on Windows 11. In fact, I went back to my Windows 10 computer and emulated the Windows 11 Taskbar there as well. The centered Taskbar means you don't have to work constantly to the left. Everything is right there in front of you. I also put an off button on the Taskbar and with a few learned changes you can do about anything with the new Taskbar that you could with the old. With my old Windows 10 computer I used Quick Launch so they were very similar. I also like the the two finger activation of the Task Settings as well. What I don't like is the new File Explorer. Everything is engineered to direct you to use OneDrive. From setup to every keystroke in File Explorer it causes you to be intertwined with OneDrive. Microsoft wants your money and your privacy and they'll do anything to get it. They don't want you to make file changes because it hurts their ability to control OneDrive. I haven't removed it yet but I've turned it off and am waiting to see what they do with the next several changes. I believe what they are doing is not legal and they should be prevented from forcing use of it during setup. I bought a Lenovo computer that had a problem and sent it back. I bought a replacement and in the two weeks between having the computers Microsoft changed the setup options. I couldn't use any of the standard options to bypass OneDrive on the second computer but did have other selectable options I didn't have before. I basically stopped OneDrive as soon as I could then turned it off and auto returned all uploaded files back to the computer. I also stopped all sync options on my old systems before installation. People watching this channel may have a better way to do it. I wanted to keep it simple and direct. It worked for me. Once OneDrive is turned off you can still backup selected files direct to the cloud without turning on OneDrive - 5 GIG. I also use Google Drive (slides, sheets, docs, etc.) on my desktop and load that after everything else. If you use OneDrive, files from Google Drive will also load to the cloud via OneDrive unless you rework file locations.
I'm no fan of one drive or the cloud for many reasons, like pricing and privacy etc. I also don't use it but my understanding is it can't be disabled. I do have my fair share of external drives that I use to make complete OS backups of my hard drive. My old HP with win 10 started to take a dump on me I was fortunate to get my data. Now I have new cyperpower pc. with Win11 and I hate the file explorer structure and it's lack of tasks and hidden options. . I'm in the process of trying to find a program that over lays File Explorer with a win 10 environment. Any how I'm just relating/commiserating with you.
@@mebobtheone - You can pause, turn off and uninstall Onedrive from W11. However, if you have a Windows account you still have Onedrive in the cloud. At this point I have turned off but not yet uninstalled Onedrive from my W11 computer but I did backup a few files to confirm it works. I also have Google Desktop on my computer and that allows me to more effectively use the Google Office programs. I also use Softmaker (free version) which provides an excellent replacement for W Office.
Thank you for this very interesting apps. Especially Explorer Patcher, though I wonder why I don't get my Windows 10 tiles which were sooo useful to maintain app groups, like "Microsoft", "Adobe", "Photography", "System Tools" I had made... Can you help to have them visible? I do not understand how the Win11 Pinned panel can be made useful. I have many (I think) FireFox/File Manager issues since I installed Windows 11, so I have to reset File Manager many times a day, and sometimes log off or restart Windows as closed apps remain in the Alt+Tab list... From what I can see MS PC Manager can't be installed yet ("Coming Soon" button). Maybe you are a beta tester? Am I correct to think that you use Fan Control to also monitor fans that are outside your PC? Are they directly connected to your PC at the hardware level or via e.g. Bluetooth/WIFI?
hi there hope you well . ive been using that pc manager for a few months now . ive even installed it 3 times . it looks like it would be fantastic easy tool but its got atleast 1 massive floor , it does not delete the windows update files , the ms defender log files or the temp files . You will notice on the front page you will have x amount of MB space on your temp files If you hit boost it will go to zero but when you reopen it the size of temp files will be exactly the same as what it was before you hit boost the previous time Even if you go into the deep clean and temp file boxes are checked for removal when you hit proceed it removes literally nothing . It really would be a useful tool if only it worked . Brings me to this question . how does shit like that get missed by the guys responsible for testing it
If we already have our fans setup with curves in the UEFI, tied to the CPU, do we need to disable that and set a manual speed, to use Fan Control? I'm asking if the UEFI will conflict with the software.
So far Fan Control takes priority from anything set in the UEFI. I'm leaving it setup the way it was, in case I'm in another OS, or the software isn't running. It's working beautifully to increase case fans for the CPU or GPU. It's even running the GPU fan curve. You can do very elaborate configs.
I recently upgraded to win 11. I did a clean install of 11 in a stripped-down version for gaming. It's awesome I don't have all the bloat and other unnecessary junk, but I feel like it's not letting me run my system at full potential. I have a high-end machine, and I know all too well what it can do. My machine ran great on 10. I regret installing 11. But it seems like it's getting a lttle better with the updates but still not as good as it ran in 10. Could you maybe tell me a few pointers or maybe do a video on it please. Oh yeah, I can't even overclock my ps5 controller like I could using 10.
Register cleaner or not. No 2 PCs are the same. I've used CCleaner for years and never has UT caused any issues. I work for the DOD doing IT. All our systems run CCleaner and use registry cleaner. Never an issue.
Please provide a detailed description of your system. Include type of case, # of drives, CPU, power, etc. I'm asking because I will soon need to replace my non-win 11 compliant tower computer. Thanks
Hi Rich, would you happen to know a fix to this niggling Windows problem? An update sometime back, I think it was 22H2, broke the extremely handy File Explorer "inline autocomplete" feature. Something I loved and have used since way back since WinXP. I've never found a way to restore it and don't understand why Microsoft never fixed it. Would love your thoughts. Surely I'm not the only one out there who used this feature? (I tried Explorer Patcher, unfortunately no cigar)
Small mention here, Microsoft in its 'listen to what the consumer wants' days, offered that option back in a few prior releases (Win XP) to roll back to the configuration that best works for you (Wind 95 theme in win XP etc). Maybe we advise that argument as to what was done in the past. Cannot remember what it was called but did exactly what we are seeing here.
Avast Antivirus does not like the Fan Control app. And as for Microsoft's PC Manager, its website is telling me "Coming Soon". Hope they get it fixed soon. Or maybe my system does not qualify. Not real sure at this time.
ALRIGHT. If you use NV clean instal it will erase your GPU driver settings in the nvidia control panel and may cause your pc to black screen whenever you open or close google chrome or maximize a youtube video etc. To fix this go to nvidia control panel, then adjust desktop color settings and then scroll to bottom where it says content type reported and switch it from auto to desktop programs.
Im new to your channel and im liking your vids. Could you figure a way to make google chrome look like IE with out using the extension IE Tab. I miss IE now that its been disabled.
Explorer Patcher most likely bricked my hard drive twice. I took a new Win 11 laptop, set a restore point, did all recent updates (2x), and only installed EP. The next time I fired up computer, checked for updates, created a restore point, updated, computer locked up. Couldn’t access/use any restore points. Had to do a clean install, start over. Repeated above, same thing happened again. Another clean install, left out EP, computer has been fine for months.
It's strange, the link for pc manager takes you to a download page but when downloaded the prompt takes you to an MS store install page and there is not actual link to download pc manager itself.
Ahhh, the real problem with CCleaner is that the software provider became completely untrustworthy. I now regard it as potential malware, regardless of how well any part of the app functions.
Explorer patcher is a life save, it means I get the same folder flyouts as previous OS's straight from the taskbar so no need to run indexer or search as its easy to track down every file super quick even on systems with millions of files
Unfortunately Fancontrol doesn't find the Intel ARC GPU (and Intels own fancontrol is not very good). It also doesn't see the fans on my Shuttle based home server and considering adding and Arduino controller for its fans to keep the fans silent on this machine running at 0,1% 24/7.
I had THREE instances when cleaning the registry fixed bad functioning programs (Adobe and one game that refused to start). I understand that it's dangerous to clean without any needs, but sometimes it helps, it's not a matter of performance.
Been using Open Shell for years now. mainly for having the "old" Win 7 style Bottom menu. Seems a bit the same as Explorer Patcher. Still blows my mind how little Microsoft actually listens to their customers.
Why would Microsoft want us to absolutely keep the taskbar in the center? What reason do they have to refuse to let us personalize it like we want, its so stupid from them to force changes down our throat.
Eye focus is normally fixated to the center cause our eyes are in the middle. Don't like it this way? The simple toggle is going into taskbar personalization of Windows 11.
what if your running icue commander or some other prog like it for fan control? is that fan control system only for fans that are directly plugged into the board??
Temporary files don't slow down your pc so much in general although running a search for a file surrounded by an extra million unneeded files is likely noticeable slower.
Well Microsoft PC Manager is not available, at least in Eastern Europe. Fan Control is nice, but I prefer my MSI Center - they are really putting an effort to give fan control options natively and I always like to use the vendor's software as much as possible. They still have a long way to catch up with Fan Controlo though, which in some cases might be glitchy though. Classic menu - I think the app is useless for most of the admins - you just type one line to add a registry on cmd and script the s**t out of it - voilá :)
From someone on youtube giving all kinds of tech advice on computers, he should know that deleting a registry key cannot and will not render a computer unfixable! All it could possibly do at worst is to render that install of windows unfixable. A reinstall of windows on a reformatted drive and bam back up and running! I sure hope he doesn't say such bold faced lies to customers!
I agree a complete OS Backup is a must. But that isn't always a 100% slam dunk as there can be reinstalling issues etc. As to "The bold faced lies" he as always taking care to always express "in my opinion". I'm not hearing the man saying "this is the hard gospel."
As I use both windows 10/11 and Debian linux in dual-boot mode, I miss some useful features of Gnome linux desktop, like automatically center any window that we open or an app or the windows OS open. Also the terminal app where you can write CLI commands, they keep a history of them and you can easily recall them, something unavailable in windows. It seems windows is now introducing the sudo command in windows ...

Completely agree, I have been a systems builder for 20 years, I still to this day use a Piriform edition of Ccleaner with never an issue using Regclean. NEVER !
agree on the registry editors; i used one many years ago when I was still newer to using my own computer and boy did that sucker mess things up
extreamly useful video
When referring to ExplorerPatcher:
"Personally I think Microsoft should just work with this developer to integrate this program into Windows 11 once and for all."
I'm sorry, but has anyone not realized that all of Windows 11's problems (actually, it's very existence I would argue) stem from how much hubris that garbage company has?
Wow, so helpful! Easy to listen to and understand. Glad you popped up in my recommendation. Saved and subbed!
My Windows 11 machine uses passive cooling so I don't have a need for the fan control program but I do use Open Hardware Monitor to see what the cpu temperatures are doing.
Core Temp is also ok.
Is there a program that disables ALL forms of artificial intelligence in Windows 11? That's the #1 program we should all want.
I'm sure there will be. Luckily right now the only people that have to worry about it are people using ARM CPUs.
I plan to stay on top of it and cover disabling it once x86 systems start to get the AI features.
Perhaps Winaero Tweaker has these features, im not sure though.
There's scripts you can run to disable Co-Pilot and search highlights, bing from search, etc, I used Chris Titus utility for that, just select the options you want also there's other tools like Shutup10/11 and many others.
Yes, it is called GNU/Linux.
You can try O&O ShutUp10++. It mentions copilot. Cannot try it because copilot's not available in my region.
Am I the only one who was looking for the scar on his thumb throughout the video? 😶🌫... Looks like the thumb-tuck procedure was a resounding success! lol. Thanks for the great video too.

It's definitely going to leave a scar but the doctor did a good job stitching it up.
Yep!
Thank you. Your advice is sound and welcome. Much appreciated.
Get rid of bloated spying Chrome. I have moved back to Firefox.
I love firefox
I have been using fan control for a while, it is fantastic, if like me, you hate unnecessary noise, it is perfect. My computer was very very noisy before and now it is completly silent while browsing and extremly quiet when gaming. This is done without sacrificing any performance.
I use really advance curve for each fan depending on high cpu load or high gpu load.
PC Cleaner seems not yet to be available in Germany. I get the same window you showed in Windows Store but there is no Button 'Get'.
Same here in Austria. Glad that We're not specially challenged!
Nor in Spain. I had it installed but, after formatting and reinstalling Windows 11, no more options to install it again.
I wuldn't bother with it. It's a hog on your system (CPU).

Ok, it'll detect the best driver for the hardware but what about the operating system? So far my new laptop works just fine despite it's drivers being outdated. Why bother fixing what isn't broken? Can NVClean install a functional driver for Windows 8 on AMD hardware? Now that's a question worth asking.
Thank you for the link to the Classic Context Menu program, I wanted this for so long time but did not have the time to look for it. Now I don't need to look, I have it! 🙂

It's great. Stitches are out and it's almost healed. Thanks for asking.
@@CyberCPU Totally awesome. Now that you dabbled in being a doctor, let's stick to what you're really good at 🤣
From my humble experience don't and never use - no matter how outdated they are - other Windows drivers than the computer's hardware's manufacturer/developer! Don't say I didn't warn you!😢
The only feature I use and like very much of CCleaner is that it can delete whatever restore point in Windows, especially when you use Win Aero Tweaker which has one of plethora of tweaks out of which is to force Windows to do more restore points than Windows actually does by default.

Thanks for the neat review of the apps!!
As always great info and video
hi there hope you well . ive been using that pc manager for a few months now . ive even installed it 3 times . it looks like it would be fantastic easy tool but its got atleast 1 massive floor , it does not delete the windows update files , the ms defender log files or the temp files .
Thanks
Check out next week's video. It may help you out.

Windows defender claims Trojan:Win32/Sonbokli.A!cl
Agree, registry cleaners are unnecessary ever since we switched to SSDs for boot drives.

Microsoft PC Manager seems to be no longer available. 😞 Not on the Store and instead of download, you have coming soon on the website.
do you use a vanilla Windows 11 or a NTLite version in your VB's?
Can you post a more in-depth video on using Fan Control?
Explorer Patcher most likely bricked my hard drive twice. I took a new Win 11 laptop, set a restore point, did all recent updates (2x), and only installed EP. The next time I fired up computer, checked for updates, created a restore point, updated, computer locked up. Couldn’t access/use any restore points. Had to do a clean install, start over. Repeated above, same thing happened again.
Another clean install, left out EP, computer has been fine for months.
Where are the promised links? Thanks

It's strange, the link for pc manager takes you to a download page but when downloaded the prompt takes you to an MS store install page and there is not actual link to download pc manager itself.
Do these apps work on 10 also?
Most of them will. Obviously explorer patcher and the classic context menu app are specifically for Windows 11. The others should work in Windows 10.
You should do one of programs that allow to tinker with audio and mixer settings. The current ones in Windows 11 kind of suck.
Unfortunately Fancontrol doesn't find the Intel ARC GPU (and Intels own fancontrol is not very good).
It also doesn't see the fans on my Shuttle based home server and considering adding and Arduino controller for its fans to keep the fans silent on this machine running at 0,1% 24/7.
what is the difference between NVIDIA app and NVCleanstaller? Shouldn't it be a given to use the Nvidia app to install it?
Great Job, How many app that you have installed on your pc friend?
That is a weird question
I had THREE instances when cleaning the registry fixed bad functioning programs (Adobe and one game that refused to start). I understand that it's dangerous to clean without any needs, but sometimes it helps, it's not a matter of performance.
I liked the sordum app for bringing back the classic context menu.
Would you say Explorer Patcher is better than StartAllBack?
so for the nvi cleanstall, would u still use display driver uninstall b4 ???
Can we control laptop's fans with Fan Control Application ?
Have you tried CTT powershell script?
Been using Open Shell for years now. mainly for having the "old" Win 7 style Bottom menu. Seems a bit the same as Explorer Patcher. Still blows my mind how little Microsoft actually listens to their customers.
Man that's a nice desk.
How do you keep it so clutter free.
That's the tips video we need
Just uhhh........not put anything extra on it?.........
@XuroX. Then how do you get anything done?
Registry cleaners used to be more valid. Now days, SSDs and an abundance of RAM makes light work of even a really cluttered registry.
thanks nice classic menu..
here in the UK - Microsoft PC Manager >> ''coming soon'' on the website :(
So get a VPN and go through a US location.
Hey, the Microsoft PC Manager dont work anymore it says "Comming Soon" on the download button.
A free external download manager ? Can you suggest some application like IDM(Paid) which are totally free and beast?
what if your running icue commander or some other prog like it for fan control? is that fan control system only for fans that are directly plugged into the board??
The real power of Fan Control is its ability to merge the output of multiple sensors to determine the fan speed.
Silverstone recommend you always run your aio pump at a constant rate for longevity
Great basic tools to install. (Unfortunately, my GPU is so old, there are "No drivers" available for it.
You just earned a new subscriber.
Microsoft does not support using registry cleaners. They killed their registry cleaner from Windows XP. It's best to just leave the registry alone.
Cleaning a registry almost does nothing in the first place. Your PC won't be faster because you delete stuff from the registry.
