I also love how Anthony doesn't diss John to take a rest & instead he sits there to listen to him.I don't think Anthony has a bad voice - in fact I believe he gets better & better. But yes, he is not Frusciante.
I don't agree though with the people who talk crap about Anthony's voice. Let's not forget who are the founders here.
Anthony knows HOW good John is & he let the world live the 'JF experience'. He is not selfish by hiding John to promote himself.
I seriously got choked up listening to this. It really touched me.
I think it's apples and oranges. They both have amazing, unique voices. But I think for the type of songs that RHCP makes, Anthony's voice fits in more. In John's more calm, guitar centered music, his voice fits perfectly.

Some of their best moments are when they are singing together, with Johns high notes on top of Anthony's lower notes. Better to have 2 different ranges and styles then 2 exactly the same.

Your welcome. And no, he just does this live. He does a ton of covers live, but the only actual cover I know of on any of his albums is "Song to the Siren" off of his newest album The Emyrean.

@GRRJayyy as far as vocal musicianship goes, it's not close. john is far and away a superior singer. i think having an opera singer for a mom helps.
c'mon man come back to the people you were born to play with..I miss your songs with RHCP. Come back to do some more albums you have a lot left in you. That other guy is good but just not the same with out you playing. You have a distinct sound that you add to RHCP that is irreplaceable. I've been a fan since I was 16 years old and i'm 38 now. your vocals mesh good with Anthonys. They are talented are F@#k. Anxiously waiting for it to happen.
