Set plate production efficiencies at 72.28125% each,
and 57.825% for screw production efficiency, resulting in a perfect 1:2 production ratio.

Good evening Darren, we have seen you struggle with the 1.0 question for a while now and I would like to chip in. I have watched all episodes of the previous series and stated to watch them again recently because I love your learning curve. I am someone that never did aluminum and hoped you would show me before 1.0 started on a reasonable scale (stopped building along during copper factory haha). It is probably best to make a smaller series with the starting story bits so people can watch that instead of playing. And you can use this save to finish the game? And use this save as an example to people what happens with existing factory’s. Just so you know that whatever you decide we all will watch it. Be careful not to burn out on the game.. We would all miss you and the satisfactory series.
This is the part that is to long for you to read but I wanted to share it anyway. I have/had burnout problems start 13 months ago and you helpt me immensely during that time with the videos and this game in general. I wanted to thank you for everything! You made a supporting member for life

I think you should start a new "Lets Play" for 1.0. I think it's what the majority of players are going to do and any new players who will be joining the game after it hits 1.0 will be looking for guides in that iteration. Just my two cents. Love the series and I will watch more whatever you decide to do.

Hey Darren, love all your content. Although just watching you is enough, I kinda ant to play too. The info you share along with the blueprints you create for everybody is incredibly generous. Praise, more praise, etc....
Anyways, after watching both these series, I have finally decided to play along with you if you start 1.0 from the beginning. I think anybody new to Satisfactory will be looking for 1.0 content. Whatever decision you make, I'll keep watching but mind your health above all.

I'm a bit late here, but I just want to thank you for showing me how to get into this game in a way I can enjoy, I stopped following after the copper factory was built, and I've been playing on my own and it's been SO much more fun than my first run-through of the game I did back in update 3, I don't think I placed a single foundation in that save. I never would have thought it possible for me to design factories and do a bit of engineering, the knowledge you've given me, for free, is unparalleled. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for showing me that I can play this game, and how I can do it!

@WhatDarrenPlays and anyone else interested in a relatively simple method:
21:05 A little late, but to efficiently divide a resource like this, here's what I do:
    1. Use the recipe to determine how much of each input is needed to make 1 of the desired output.
    2. Lower the inputs down to the rawest common resource using step 1 for their recipes.
    3. Using ratios, determine the total amount of the raw resource(s) required to make 1 of the final output.
    4. Use the ratio between the total raw resources required and the raw resources required for each input to determine how the raw resource should be split.
Using standard reinforced iron plates as an example:
    1. Recipe is | 6 Iron Plate | 12 Screw | = 1 Reinforced Iron Plate.
    2. 6 Iron Plates requires 9 Iron Ingots. 12 Screws requires 3 Iron Ingots.
    3. So 1 Reinforced Iron Plate requires 3 + 9 = 12 Iron Ingots.
    4. Iron Plates will need 9/12 = 75% of the input iron. Screws will require 3/12 = 25% of the input iron.
-- Purely opinion beyond this point --
To make setting up the machines easier, I would divide the amount per minute of the input iron by the amount you need for the resource, round the result down, have that many machines use the base clock speed, and then underclock one more machine to the remainder. i.e. 9 / 4 = 2.25, so two machines @ 100%, one @ 25%.
Thanks for the video! (And for reading this comment if you got this far)

Getting funnier and better at both game and content creation. Factories this large take an unreasonable amount of time to build. Hundreds of hours yet factory that can complete phase 3 in 10 minutes. Restart 1.0 at 1/4 or 1/8 scale and beat the game. The work on signage and blueprint design you have already done in this save will influence the community forever.

Firstly, the best Satisfactory channel by a mile. I came across Satisfactory a few months ago and almost immediately, your channel. Since then I’ve been building along and rewatching the series as I build. You’ve been a great inspiration to playing the game, and if you decide to change it up a bit after 1.0, your series would 1000% be missed! BUT, you have to go the way you want, and what’s good for your channel, time and, most importantly, your health (and maybe a bit of sanity 😅). Thanks for everything you’ve shown us so far, and I know I’m not the only one, but we’re all looking forward to the next chapter, whatever and however it may present itself! 💪🏻🫡

Great video again Darren, really nice to see all the forward planned factories make it so much quicker now!
Personally i really hope you continue this series, your playthrough and blueprints and relaxed commentary made me love this game, building along for 300 hours has been awesome ❤️ but we all get that there's RUclips's mechanics to deal with because its your livelihood, so go with what you feel is best Regardless what you go for, i'd still watch it all, streams or planned videos. Time for a well earned break until 1.0 maybe now!

Two days for 1.0 here. I really would enjoy seeing you play in it from fresh start. Nothing is lost and a lot of mistakes you may have done during this series will you may correct and improve in the next, also using the good stuff that comes with 1.0. it's a literal game changer, and probably converting stuff will be more trouble than it's worth. Some would not mind if you do both parallel series in satisfactory. You have the best satisfactory series ever anyway.
Hope your health has improved. Take care.

I love your videos for your delivery and attention to detail. I've completed the game twice and have been confused about some of your choices over the series. Today's revelation that you've never automated any of the tier 8 parts or the final space elevator parts make that all make sense. :) I love the focus on the journey rather than the destination. My advice re 1.0 is see how well the save converts to 1.0 and do a conversion video. Many others will be doing the same. Then just continue on.

Darren, when you do start building an aluminium factory, I think it would be cool to have it in the pink forest, you could get rhe water needed from the crater lakes and there is plenty of bauxite in the pink forest and the surrounding area. It could also give a pretty cool atmosphere to the biome

    • @mrbfros454
      @mrbfros454 3 месяца назад +1

The red jungle actually has a lake in it that is more than big enough for processing all the bauxite there. My brother and I just finished an aluminum casing factory that uses all 7 or 8 nodes from the east all the way over the edge of the titan forest. We built a double decker train station to bring in bauxite and coal (1st floor) and then ship out the ingots to our pressure conversion cube factory (2nd floor).

Personally, as much as I have loved this series. With the release of 1.0 you will for sure get back to this place again and go beyond. I would love to see you start fresh, follow the story and see how you improve some things using what you've learned from doing this one. And yes I would watch you rebuild every one of these factories again in another youtube series starting fresh on 1.0. I personally don't have time to watch live streams so these cut and edited hourish long videos are perfect. And by improve some things.. maybe not go so big, so early with the copper. XD

  • @guillaumebiagi6618
    @guillaumebiagi6618 4 месяца назад +2

I'll try to keep it short, but here is how I would do to find the 'sweet spot' for your 231.3 iron you want to turn to reinforced iron plates: check the iron ingot to RIP ratio to get the max output you can get and 'backpropagate'! If I remember the numbers correctly:
For 1 RIP you need 12 screws which itself requires 3 iron ingots and 6 iron plates which requires 9 iron ingots => 12 iron ingots for one RIP.
So you can get at most 231.3 / 12 = 19.275 RIP per minute.
Knowing that, you will need 19.275 * 6=115.65 iron plates, which requires 173.475 iron ingots and 19.275 * 12=231.3 screws, which takes 57.825 iron ingots.
You're using 58.8 for the screws in the video, so you definitely are not far off! You will be missing like 1 reinforced iron plate every hour or something like that x)

Here is an idea for what to do for 1.0, You've always been pretty good about making your own rules and sticking to them for the "lore" of your world/play through... what if you played off of that a bit and started a "new play through" but with your existing world only deralict abit, like you inherited it from 'aaron plays' who died in a tragic smelting accident. could keep 90% of the stuff you currently have so you can catch upto where you are quicker and all the tutorial stuff you've made would still be accurate to your playthrough but you have to unlock the milestones, play through the story and earn the ability to do certain recipes before you can fix up the factories to get them back up and running again maybe? if you got someone else to do the deralicting then it could be an interesting challenge to go through and find all the issues that needed fixing to get the factories back to running 100%.

I'm finally in the last phase. I played on and off (mostly off ^^') on the same save since update 5 I believe. Only 175h since then.
I want to do tier 8, but i'm kind of done mentally about the grind. And I only use belt. And I explored all the map, the biome with the coral is so beautiful. If we could build a nice home there, it will be great.

I've unlocked everything as of about a month ago. I was going to finish getting to the Phase 4 factories, but with 1.0 so close and some significant changes and the story being introduced, I've set it aside. I'll probably rush the story as much as possible and try to set down an extensible and logical platform for ramping up production rates, but I don't intend to get stuck on mega builds out of the gate. This plan may completely fall apart, but this is what I'm thinking at the moment.

They've really helped me expand my factories and builds, I've learned a lot, though I can never get my world grids to line up with either 2m or 4m foundations. Gotta watch your first U8 videos again. Quantum teaser dropped today, how will your builds or plans change now that we will likely be getting mk 6 belts and can fully utilize mk 3 miners? I think U8 would serve as a good how-to to learn maximum efficiency and blueprints. Really get people started on the right foot. With 1.0 I bet you could make some great builds while maintaining some amount of efficiency, but make it like you really want to. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

If you keep this old save, you will have a lot of work in redoing all your miners and supply logistics to your current factories. That could make for a great series by itself, naming it "converting your update 8 to 1.0" and using that as something to catch views, then stream the new save once or twice a week.

Glad to see you finish the tier. Trying for the current space elevator goals with less than a month left before 1.0 would be pretty crazy. It is technically doable, but not while maintaining your level of organization and attention to detail. The amount of prep you put into making your videos would have you burning the candle at both ends trying to get it done. I would much prefer you enjoy the next few weeks rather than stressing out over goals that were deliberately made to be unreasonable as a time waster. I don't tend to watch livestreams live, as I work odd hours, but I do enjoy watching edited uploads of streams that some creators post. So if you do stream your 1.0 experience do please also post at least highlights videos of how it goes. I myself will likely be playing 1.0 for at least a week before even looking at a youtube video. But I like to see how others enjoy and experience certain games.

Hi Darren, let me start off by saying how much I have enjoyed this series, as well as the amazing effort that you have put into all of these builds. I have only discovered the series recently, and I am steadily going through the playlist. As such, I have not even seen this video yet, I am only to the point where you automated the AI limiters.
However, there is something I have noticed throughout the series so far, and I wanted to point it out, and I hope it is taken as constructive criticism.
There is a flaw in the way you have designed your manifold system. It doesn't operate the way you want it to operate. I know what you want it to do, is fill the first machine, when that machine is blocked go on to fill the second machine and then when that blocks fill the third etc. The problem though, is that you have implemented this with regular splitters, and they all act exactly as regular splitters.
I'll try and explain it in words as best I can, using a hypothetical example: Let's say you have a row of four machines, lets say smelters, numbered 1,2,3 and 4. Next to it, you have the manifold system as you have designed it. The reason I chose smelters is because there is only one input, to avoid confusion. Lets call the splitters in the manifold A, B, C and D. Lets say these smelters max out at an input of 60 input ores per minute.
So you send a conveyor with 120 units per minute to the first splitter in your manifold, splitter A. Splitter A send 60 units per minute into Machine 1 and 60 units per minute to Splitter B. Because Splitter A is a regular splitter, it doesn't matter what Machine 1 does, whether it backs up or not, it will continue to try and supply it with 60 units per minute.
At splitter B, it sends 30 units per minute into Machine 2 and 30 units per minute go to splitter C. Again, no matter what machine 2 does, whether it is under served or over served, it gets 30 units per minute.
At splitter C, 15 units per minute goes into Machine 3 and 15 units per minute goes to splitter D.
Splitter D only has one output, its there for consistency and to make the 90 degree turn into Machine 4, so splitter D gets the full 15 units per minute.
However, if you had to continue and build another Machine 5 and splitter E for instance. Then Machine 4 would have received 7.5 units per min....
In this hypothetical situation, you are getting 50% of the total maximum input, and therefore output of this block of for machines. 100% of Machine 1's output, 50% of Machine 2's output, 25% of Machine 3 and Machine 4's output. It's been decades since I have done any calculus, but if I were to guess, I think no matter how many machines you add, you cannot get over 75% efficiency for the total number of machines!
Many times when you are setting up your blocks, you are also under-clocking one of your machines, to deal with a fractional output for a hypothetical max input of units. However that machine is getting much less input units than you were planning, so the under-clocking exacerbates the situation.
Also sometimes, the output of one manifold line feeds into another manifold line, which also exacerbates the situation.
You don't realise this is happening, because of the sheer number of machines that you have, you are still outputting a massive amount of any item. However, you also have this manifold system set up in your giant coal generator factory, which means at any given point you are only getting less than 75% of the power, which prevents you from turning all of the rest of your infrastructure on.
Now the good news, the solution:
All you need to do, is change the regular splitters in your manifolds into smart splitters, set to overflow for the next one in the chain! All except the last splitter in the line, because all it is doing is the 90 degree turn. If you do that, your manifolds will behave exactly how you want them to behave. Fortunately you have already automated the assembly of AI limiters, so you can create as many smart splitters as you want. Unfortunately due to the sheer number of manifold systems you have created, this will take a very long time.
The solution is straightforward, but it is tedious!
If I were in your shoes, this would be my strategy. First, fix the power station. Then fix the production line for AI limiters and reinforced iron plates, so that you can maximise the number of smart splitters you can make. Then fix the lines that create ingots, because even if the rest of the production is inefficient, at least having the starting point maximised will boost the numbers overall. After that, you can repair the rest of the lines as and when you need more of one particular item.
Sorry to drop that all on you! Otherwise, I am thoroughly entertained by this series.
PS. this is also the reason for the gaps in your glass towers inside the copper factory. Machines with different output amounts being merged onto a single line.

You’re actually wrong, when a splitter gets backed up it acts in the same way as an overflow. It does not only send 30 if 60 goes in. If 60 goes in and one of the two outputs gets blocked, 60 flows straight through. You can download my save and check the machines efficiencies - they run at 100%.

@@WhatDarrenPlays I do apologise! I do not have Satisfactory, nor a computer with good enough graphics to run it. I have just been following along with your videos! My favourite build is the underground liquid biofuel factory.

Hey no problem! I appreciate the long and thoughtful advice though. Sorry if my reply seemed short/kurt - I often just reply on mobile quickly and my tone might come across poorly. Thanks again for the comment though, but thankfully a splitter isnt a hard limit on what goes through each side… otherwise all my factories would be screwed!

Thank you Darren! As you pointed out, the whole reason for my comment is because I made an incorrect assumption on how splitters worked. It's actually great work by the developers that they take overflow into account. Something else has come to mind though...
Bear in mind I am only half-way through the playlist, and I don't have access to your save file, so you may have already addressed this and I haven't seen it yet! The last I saw of your giant coal generator factory, you hadn't turned on all of the generators in the blocks. I believe the limiting factor was you didn't have enough water throughput, and you were waiting to unlock mk. 2 pipes. After you did unlock mk. 2 pipes, did you go back and make the upgrade, and turn on the rest of the generators? Sorry that I am bringing this up now, and not waiting until I finish the series, but I have several hours to go still!

Ok, I see that you have actually done the power upgrades! You did it on a live stream, and I missed it, because the live streams are not part of the playlist. Just ignore my previous comment!

Difficult to make a decision an how little info there is at the moment.
Stick to your plan of streaming 1.0. Then you will know if it is drastically different and you need to restart, OR if you can just continue from where you are.
I am personally just hanging on for you to finally finish the game, and don't want you to restart.

Hey Darren, just found your channel yesterday and am working my way through your play through as I havent played Satisfactory since Update 3 and going back into it is very daunting. Do you have a world download available so I can snoop around and hopefully not feel overly daunted?

Phase 4 ammounts in 1.0 drop to 1/4 of that shown in 0.8
It's still a lot, but not nearly as bad.

24:40 it is not about 58.8!
    100 / 8 = 12.5
    100 / (8 * 12.5) = 1
    x / (8 * 12.5) * 100 = x

Hey Darren, please..... i want to see you in Tier 8 so much. i havent watched any other yt stuff. so maybe continue this series and if time allows it start (maybe live) 1.0 too? i wouldnt mind if you rush thruoug Tier 7 (as you said it was done before) and go on with Tier 8 :-) PLEASE

Just to explain why you're getting 58.8. It's not that 58.8 is special, but that 12.5 * 8 = 100 so you're essentially deviding by a 100 and then multiplying by a 100 to get percentage.

Isn’t the final phase different for the space elevator now? I thought they mentioned that they are going to change the numbers for that one.
Also. I vote to start over and play 1.0 as some of the recipes have changed. Or worse case would be stream one (as long as I can watch both “offline” I’m fine with either).
