Whatsup Shane. One of my favourite UFC fights is Jon Jones vs Glover Texeira. Glover was Noutorious for being a heavy hitter, an brawler you don't want to exchange with. Here you have Jones with his 84 inch long arms. A phenomenal outside fighter with great distance management. Everybody thought Jon was going to keep it clean, and pick Glover apart from the outside, while Glover would try to get on the inside and land his power shots. The bell rang and all Jones did was brawl Glover on the inside for 25 minutes long. Leaving everybody with their mouths open. Kind of the same thing happened with Izzy vs Whitaker. Izzy, who always liked to keep things clean, won every single exchange on the inside against a phenomenal brawler. I know I mentioned like the two most technical fighters ever, but this intrigues me. The ability of an outside fighter to brawl and exchange. Can you do a video on this?
Foreman and Frazier! Two of my favorite all time fighters who don't get enough credit. Not traditionally known as defensive fighters but their styles work!!
They were great, great, fighters!! LEGENDS!! No doubt -- but, I think you need to have a "great chin" for it to work also... Those guys got hit... A LOT!! Lol!! I'm just saying lol!! They would walk through a barrage of punches just to land ONE - but that one punch??!! Whew boy!! Frazier's left hook??! Well, it dropped Ali... Foreman?? Any hand he touched you with, flush?? It's a wrap!! Lol!! Again, not even remotely knocking on their greatness, but if those goes guys didn't have a jaw made from titanium steel, maybe we would've ever known who they were... What do you think?? Lol
@@Roqua710 True!! Frazier would have to eat quite a few shots to get inside and let that wicked left hook off!! But that erratic bobbing head movement he had probably saved hom from a lot of punishment! Smokin Joe always came forward! He's the true father of peek-a-boo style boxing. Foreman defense was just smothering...keping his arms extended and forcing his oppenent's hands down. Reminds me of a damn grizzly bear or something lol pawing and smothering his opponent's offense. But leaving his arms extended like that did expose him to a lot of shots coming over the top. He took them well though. Check out the Foreman vs Ron Lyle fight. I've never seen 2 fighters take so much punishment! Unbelievable chins!!
These are all great basic tips that require hours and hours of repetition. Once it becomes natural, opponents better start diving for those legs lol. Great video.

I feel bad because I'm just coming to this video now but maaaaan! Ricardo seems so much more grown now. I always remembered him really quite but just him speaking at the beginning was kind of a shock
You know what’s crazy is I’ve been doing juijitsu boxing and kickboxing for 3+ plus years now and I know a lot of techniques but when it applies to my striking I don’t know the names of a lot of the things I know when I’m regards to my defense. so it’s always convenient when Shane releases a video that puts names to the different techniques I have been taught through out the years
I had a question....how do you get over losing a fight? I lost a street fight and cannot stop thinking about it I find myself getting furious sometimes just thinking of it. I don't want to hold onto this frustration and anger....
Hey man, I think a good think to understand is that almost EVERYONE has lost a fight at some point. All you can do is try your best to improve and think about what went wrong that you could’ve done differently and correct it. Cheers, boss! 🍻
Can you do a video on countering the 1-2? And also getting in close to throw hooks and uppercuts after the 1-2? I'm a range fighter with long arms so I usually stick to just pumping the jab, throwing the cross, and either circling or backing out so I'm working on becoming a more well rounded fighter.
Great stuff, as always Coach Shane. I had some success taking a leftward diagonal step towards my opponent and off his line while throwing the left hook.
Shane can U please do a video on how to deal with people who swing wildly they are easy to dodge but I flinch a lot cause ik if I get hit with those I am knocked out
I am a 14 year old boy who dreams are to get in to the ufc I have no equipment or coach I have Shadow boxing and exercise I have been bullied all my life and know I can fight hopefully one day I can make it
Shane do one video about de right hook, as I find myself sparring noobs that are much heavier and stronger than me and than blast that heavy hook with no technique that is so annoying
Shane can you make a video about defending and countering a barage of hooks and jabs. I was in my first amateur match last week and my main problem is that when a guy started mindlessly throwing jabs and hooks while i was in the corner i could not find proper timing and way to counter those punches and the ref had to break 2 times. Thanks up ahead.
Uh hello, so I got in a fight today. We scrapped and basically the point is. These type of kids like they will go after you the next day and it's 2 days till school so, what should I do to solve this problem?
Thanks Coach Shane. Question: When doing the five defenses you showed in the beginning, you don’t need to also step slightly back because for one thing you want to counter right away from that same distance (or shorter if you’re doing the slip), correct?
Hi I'm amateur muaythai trainer and I have real big problem by keep my hands up and don't block my vision 😭😫😩I just keep my hands up and even sometimes my head falls down and I can't even see where is my opponent. Please give me some drill thanks

Hey, Shane I practice Muay Thai and I sweat a lot today I am feeling a little dizzy and I feel so weak, have you experienced this? And do you know how to fix it
Hey shane ive been asking a few people I follow to show techniques on blocking punches to hurt your aponents wrist and for arms by blocking with your elbows they dont have many vids on it its high risk but high reward just wondering wdyt?
Great videos, but then you have some of these young kids watching these videos and then thinking they are hard as hell, trying to use what they have seen here and then they get smashed 🤣
I think the question ist wrong how to beat a good right hand. In the video we see a simultaneos exchange and one hits while the other one misses and the one hitting is damaging like a real good counter. So the question should be how to win a simultaneos exchange or how to get the upper hand in a simultaneos exchange. Form, weight-shifting, Second hand and so on.
My right hand is really good, always reading holy books and helping the needy.

I appreciate all the techniques being shown together at the beginning
