I totally forgot to mention how the doors will all re-lock on you after 30 seconds unless you quickly get outside and open a door following an unlock using the fob. UGH.... that pisses me off. And we won't rehash the power steering that doesn't feel like power steering. About the washer fluid, I think it's great! If there is dry debris, like bird droppings or bugs, you might want to let it soften up before you run the rubber blade over it, this way it saves fluid and the blade.

I thought the "manual shift mode" was really meant as a gear limiter. So, it means if you put it in 4, and come to a stop, it will shift as usual 1, 2, 3, and stop at 4. It may also be used as a form of engine braking I think. Keep in mind, this is not the same as the manual shift modes on sports cars/sedans. My Lexus GS350 had a + - mode and it was a genuine sport manual shift feature. Trucks are not fast machines so the application is different.

I have a '23 ProX. It has a compass in the dash options. Plus the navigation screen shows your direction of travel. The manual shift mode works perfectly on mine. Shift as you accelerate, it's all good. Shift up to 6th gear and leave it there, it stays in 6th. I do think 9 speeds is overkill. Agree that the seats are a bit narrow. Do like the console better than the 2010 Pro4x I had. The bizarre thing I dislike is the steering wheel is offset about 2 inches to the left relative to the center of the seat. My 2010 was offset too but not as much. Anyways, good luck with your Frontier.

My 2023, Pro 4X, has a very large and nice compus in the info screen between the speedometer and tach. Also, the map on the 9" entertainment center has an easy to read compus
My experience with the windshield washer is that it is delayed. If you spray an extra ½ second, the blades activate. I really like this delay because you actually get fluid on the glass before the blades start.

I think any vehicle made today has it’s pros and cons. While some of the features you described are not a big deal, if you get enough of those “little” things, you start to question what other vehicles have. I personally like the 22 Frontier over the others(GM twins, Ranger, Taco, and Gladiator). Their is a balance or trade of if you will from the others. Frontier ain’t perfect, but I still think it’s a good value and some of those little features I could easily add myself or live with without regret 👍 IMHO
Looking forward to your “pros” video about the truck. Looking good 👍
Edit: if you hold the washer stalk a bit longer when you spray, it WILL wipe as well. My Honda did similar.
Seat belt chime is usually a chime module that is in the fuse box area, easy to unplug the module/chime maker 😉

I actually like that about the washer fluid. There are many times in the winter where I just want to spray fluid onto an icy windshield, and let it set for a bit, before I want the wipers to remove it. It helps in de-icing the windshield. Otherwise you end up wasting far more fluid. So this can be a good thing in certain situations. Gives one more control over what they want.

I have a few Nissan Frontier's in my fleet here in ATL. First off I will agree the lack of the telescoping wheel is a huge miss! The auto high beams work the same way in a few of my personal cars. If you want to intentionally blind oncoming traffic, yes you have to switch it to manual mode. As far as the washer, I find that feature works great when you fuel up , want to squeegee the windshield and yet all you have IS the squeegee, no water or cleaner mix in the bucket. Keep in mind this truck while "redesigned" is actually riding on the older frame. Nissan did this as they are low on cash and did not want to blank slate a new truck. Remember, the older trucks had the new drive train in them 3.8L vs 4.0L . As for lifting any truck, you are on your own. Automotive engineers have Masters degrees and years of experience in designing suspensions for ride AND safety. The people who build lifts kits? Questionable. Cheers-Alina

The windshield washer fluid function works perfect here in New England. The Frontier was my first pickup truck, and I spent a year researching which truck to buy. The Frontier met and exceeded all my expectations. I really found only one problem for me and that was the trailer hitch recess. The rear bumper interferes with my riser hitch. However, I can turn down the hitch and it works perfectly fine for my boat and trailer. I have only one trailer that sits a little low because I can't turn around the riser. I will buy another riser hitch and see if it works. The no compass doesn't bother me as I use my Iphone. I absolutely love the seats. I never thought about the High beam and the seat belt chime. The sad thing about the issue he makes about the seatbelt chime is that no matter where he is at, be it his farm, private land, Indian reservation or a private commercial property the seat belt must be engaged before the vehicle is put in motion by law and most insurance will void any claims of injury for a passenger not properly secured by safety restraints. That is why most collectible antiques that register for road use must have compliant safety restraints installed and in use or they can not be driven period. This off-roader is a very uninformed vehicle operator. I hope he is a better off road driver than he is an informed influencer in you tube.

Additionally, the handle thing on the center console also is right where my knee goes. Got a new 2023… good to know I’m not the only one who thinks this thing is quirky. I’m 61 years old, and thought my high beams didn’t work. Actually took it to the dealer. There’s an extra little twist on the control lever you need to adjust. I’ve been driving for 35 years, and never ran into a car/truck like this. All the other things being brought up: Thank you. I’m working on figuring out the shifting and acceleration. I thought I’d accidentally switched into eco mode, but this model doesn’t have different driving modes (sport, eco, etc). But, maybe I am in a manual mode? Seems like my truck got sluggish off the line and shifts much too fast, after I hit 1k miles. New subscriber.

I think most of your complaints are personal preferences. Lack of a compass? How often do you use a compass (especially when you have Android Auto or Apple Carplay)?? With that said, I am not a fanboy and I do have on bizarre quirk I've noticed (not a complaint but just something unusual): it tells you your average MPH under the speedometer -- not sure how useful that would be. Other than that, damn happy with this truck.

I think some things were incorrect. The windshield wipers will start to clean the fluid off if you hold the lever back for literally 1 second. The headlight auto brights are easily turned off by pulling back on it. The security light settings can be turned from off to 30 seconds to like 2 minutes I think. The compass feature for a S or SV would have been nice though lol. Guess I’ll have to search the sky for the sun or constellation. Also the auto lock feature on the doors can be adjusted or turned off also.

I have a 22 with whatever package that puts the garage door buttons on the mirror. It also has an on / off button that turns the auto high beam low beam option off. I noticed that yours doesn't have those buttons which is weird. My biggest issue is the adaptive cruise control. It drives me nuts when a car moves out of the way and the truck wants to floor it to get back up to speed! Another thing that bothers me is if you remote start the truck, get in it and touch the gear shifter with out hitting the start button the truck just shuts off.

  • @static_180
    @static_180 7 месяцев назад

I thought my pro4x had a compass, coulda sworn it did, but I guess it doesn’t.? Will update if it does now I want to check. Aside from that I agree. Most complaints seem nitpicky but honestly so are mine. Slow passenger window being the main (6-10 seconds for all windows, 30-40 for passenger). Aside from that trucks amazing, offroad it all the time and can walk through a foot of snow no problem if you generally know how to drive in snow, or if you have the “just turn off traction control and gas it in 4wd” mentality. Amazing truck.
Seats never bothered me though, first time I’ve heard this complaint from a frontier owner, I’m 6’2 240 an the seat is hella comfy to me, I’m also 32k miles in and drive the truck a lot so no wonder I love it. Just wish the rear window was power, kind of annoying if I want to open it or close it I have to get into the back seat
3:14 This genuinely made me upset. I use rain X washer fluid so letting it sit for a sec after I wash the truck helps it stick a little better. Your issue coulda also been solved if you hold the stick back another half a second, you’d see the wipers will swipe. Shocker.

I bought the Pro4X last July and traded in my 2019 Ranger FX4. The Nissan is a lot nicer in my opinion. I like the engine on the Nissan better than the turbo 4cyl. The interior is much nicer also. I've noticed many of the things you're talking about, but 2 of my gripes are there are no electric folding mirrors and the rearview mirror doesn't auto dim. Even my Ranger had the folding mirrors on a lower trim level. I really like the LED headlights on the Nissan. The halogen lights on the Ranger were awful even with the brightest halogen bulbs I could find. I also couldn't see many of the dash buttons at night in the Ranger with the brightness turned all the way up. Btw, the Pro4X does have a compass in the gauge cluster menu. I'm not sure why something like that would only be on the higher trims. I can't imagine it cost much if anything. I'm wondering if the most expensive package has the power folding mirrors. Overall I'm very happy and I got a great trade for the Ford.

So I have this truck, you may do well to read the manual. lets start from the top. on the window washer you have to keep the washer lever pulled back and after a couple of seconds the auto washer activates after its been spraying for 2 seconds. the automatic headlight dimming function turns off when you turn off the auto switch on the headlights to the "on" position, you just use them as a manual at that point and the compass is in the dash menu between the rpm and speedometer. you have the option to bring the compass to the front of the display as a function that is always on if you just scroll through it.

Just hold the sprayer longer, it gets the debris wet before wiping. It will automatically wipe if you hold long enough. For the seatbelt chime, you're definitely giving people a lot of credit calling them smart enough to put their belt on before driving. I work at Subaru and can't tell you how many idiots come in and their seatbelts are buckled BEHIND them so they don't have to wear it but the chime doesn't sound. WEAR YOUR DAMN SEATBELTS PEOPLE!!! For the manual mode, it's not "manual" but rather a gear limiter. If you don't want the truck to shift above 7th gear, lock it in 7 and it will shift between 1 and 7. It's not like paddle shifters in a Ferrari. Also there is a compass if you opt for the Pro-4X trim.

I don't have the issue you mentioned about manual shifting. I use mine off road and it stays in the gear I shift to even if the rpm's get up there past where it would normally shift. The wipers hold the spray down and it runs the blades. A few other things you mentioned seem like you got a truck without the options you wanted. Nissan is great about msking add on tech features. if you have the tech package the nav system is you compass. I do agree these need telescopinh steering wheel. there needs to be fender flair options too. Hopefully soon someone will make some aftermarket ones that don't require replacing the painted fender with a pro4x one. I did the 2.5 lift level kit kit didn't need camber bolts or upper control arm. Dealer said they are adjustable for a few degrees. Which was enough for this lift.
