    Thanks Mads, I can always count you, Bardwell or DRainman to have a video telling me something that leads me to a solution eventually. I added an RM RP1 ELRS to my quads replacing the DJI controller with a Boxer, but one of my quads with a Luminier HD AIO will not work correctly. It stays in low power, has no OSD, and the DJI OSD elements are like you show here, 0.0v and very low bitrate, but it will fly (not far before video starts going out). I removed the same 2 wires from all of my DJI wiring harnesses, and after watching this video, I now know i have pulled a wire that it needs or maybe the UART I put the RP1 on conflicts with the DJI plug JST plug. Thanks for the help as always!

    I had this issue on a Vista being used with the Goggles 2. Thanks for this solution. I was able to get high power mode on the Vista by turning off temp protection but prefer to have that enabled. In my case, I think the RX wire on FC may have been shorting out on the BZ- pad. Re-soldering the wire fixed the issue. It was a FlyWoo 16x16 and those are a bit fiddly to solder to. Half the connections are on the edge of the board.

    It's not only with DJI. I had similar problem with walksnail vtx - the osd was shown perfectly, but it didn't detect arming of the quad (so no auto recording and switching from standby mode). It turned out that I had a shortage between tx and rx cables and even with the shortage the osd was working.

    I noticed that if I plug in my battery it is in low power mode but if I don’t arm it whinin a certain length of time, when I do arm and takeoff it will stay in low power mode. This caught me out a few times when I wasn’t paying attention to the osd. Just thought I’d share this info, I’m not sure if this is a thing🤷‍♂️

    Very informative 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. For land based fpv, is there a way to arm O3 through betaflight using only FC? Like an auto arm once FC is powered up. Thanks in advance.

    • @jumaiproduction
      @jumaiproduction 9 месяцев назад

      I did the auto arm using arduino and it works great but what I need is auto arm in betaflight using an FC not arduino so that I will have gps for distance and speed and battery voltage under OSD. I did used FC, disabled low power mode but doesn't give you the full power.

    I have an o3 since yesterday.. I replaced a perfectly working vista with it. No dji osd and no bf osd. Hooked the vista up again, same wiring same settings in bf and no osd. Hooked the o3 to another quad I do have bf osd but no dji osd. Hooked a vista back to the same wires everything works perfectly. I think i am sending it back

    Hello Mads, thank you for your videos!! I want to ask you about the gray and brown cable, I don't have those two soldered to the FC. I have my o3 installed in a whoop and it works perfect, I have osd and signal. and I can fly my quad. The only thing is that I can't record when I arm my drone. low power mode. v0.00. Do you know where to solder those two cables? thank you so much!

    Love the Video, I have a special problem with a Whoop Drone similar to the AcroBee75 HD O3 DJI/PNP, When you connect the Battery Nothing happens, I order a new Battery Balance it, same issue, I can go the the Flight Controller using Betaflight and I also update the DJI part with the DJI assistant Consumer, still nothing. Can you give me some pointers on how to do some more diagnostics , I will appreciate

    Slightly overlooked but It may also be a bent pin on the fc connector or airunit. Same difference harder to spot at a quick glance.

    UPDATE:
    I have traced my trouble to the flight controller (Lumenier LUX HD AIOG4 FC). I connected my 03 to a scrap flight controller and loaded Betaflight 4.5 and it worked as it should. Just a head's up. It could be your flight controller if everything else is in order.
    So, I've gone over everything with a bunch of fine toothed combs and can't figure this problem out. Even moved to a different UART with the same result, no DJI display, but the betaflight display is working. I don't have another drone lying around to connect this unit to, so I'm out of options for troubleshooting this. The only thing I can figure is that my flight controller is loaded with Betaflight 4.5. I don't have a way to roll it back to 4.4 because there is no 4.4 firmware for this board.
    Any suggestions or help beyond what this video has covered would be great.

      This whole hobby is full of gotcha's like this. If your afraid of running into this crap constantly, I say run from this hobby. Everything I try leads me down twelve rabbit holes that end in a total lack of information or response. I'm a damn good technician and I'm thoroughly frustrated with all the issues.
      I am very saddened by the whole situation. The hobby could be fun if it weren't for constant issues like this.
      If I can help you figure yours out, let me know. I'm more than happy to help if I can.

    In DJI assistant I wasn't given the opportunity to activate the air unit, although I was able to check my firmware version. v01.02.0000
    It didn't have a newer version available.
    I'm waiting for a charger to arrive so was unable to check or charge the 2 brand new batteries I got for my Cinelog 25 V2.
    I'm getting the low power state in my goggles and am assuming my low batteries are the problem.
    Could I be correct?

    I wish DJI didn't gatekeep full power on the o3 air unit, what's the point of having a setting to force it on if the setting doesn't actually work. I had to solder an Arduino with that open source project to my o3 to use in full power on an RC car, very annoying. I have a fan on my o3 unit and heat is not an issue in any mode.
    And stop changing your connectors DJI - not everyone wants to solder everything. People buy DJI stuff because they want an easy, high-quality experience. They need to stop the madness.
    Last gripe - why does image stabilization processing only apply to the recorded video? Surely they could digitally stabilize the feed to the goggles, at least as an option? I think there are people that would happily accept slightly higher latency for this. You'd think they would have thought of this since their own DJI Avata which uses the same o3 system only has a 2 axis camera gimbal. They already have a gyro built into the o3 unit that can report real time stabilization data but it is only usable in post processing!

      I did speak with DJI on this and they don’t seem to understand the issue. Their rep says it’s full power when you turn off low power mode but both my technical analysis and real world result shows it’s not.

    • @wilsgrant
      @wilsgrant Год назад +1

      @@MadRC Yes I have thoroughly tested this as well on the latest firmware and my results mirror your own (disabling low power mode in settings increases video bitrate without the arming signal but not transmission power). That is kind of frightening that they don't understand the issue - I can maybe understand this getting missed in QA but how the hell can they still not understand the problem when it has been reported in detail to them by their own customers for months.
      Thanks for everything you do for the community and trying your best to report this to them.

      To be honest not 100% I’v got it armed and flying no problem I changed the link cable between the two. But I can’t get the voltage on the DJI system working, it always shows zero. But it’s arming and working fine in the air.

    • @tylerbell4137
      @tylerbell4137 9 месяцев назад

      @@tomling9310 I assumed the arming and voltage were tied to the same issue.
      That’s interesting that you got arming to work but the voltage is still 0.
      At this point I turned off the auto heat protection for it to always be full power. B/c for the life of me cannot figure out the issue.
