Just a small TIP. If you can't bind o3 and goggles try powering up the O3 with LIPO. I think it's the same with Vistas, you can't bind them when powered up and connected via USB at the same time 🤔 In my case in order to make O3 go into binding(linking) mode it had to be powered up with the LIPO instead of USB connected to PC. Hi. Yes, you saved me again, thank you. Just to share one small update I didn't get right from the movie (might be my fault): for pairing, the battery had to be plugged IN. The whole process for me(o3 airunit+integra): 1. use consumer drone series (first gotcha I fell for) and activate&update both googles and air unit. Battery not needed. 2. switch o3air unit in menu 3. connect battery to drone(2nd gotcha for me), 4. long press powerbutton on integra until the googles start beeping, it seemed that it can say looking for device/pairing on screen, but without beeping it's not doing that (3rd gotcha for me) 5. 2s press link button on drone. In my case without battery it was lit in yellow and did nothing when pressed, but when battery plugged in, it was red and 1s/2s long press was used to bind it.
Thank you, the information I needed was in the first 2:57 of the video. I bought the goggles 2 from DJI and the cinebot 30 from geprc. I have one of those Nazgul Evoque V2's with the 03 unit coming. I decided to get an extra pair of V2 goggles so I don't have to infect my other goggles and Vista units with DJI's latest firmware.
Did I miss you mentioning or is it fixed about losing all Vista and original Air Unit binds each time you switch to O3 Air Unit and back to Vista/orig Air Unit?
This is going to be fun in the FB groups. When I bought the FPV drone, I got sick of constantly having to re-bind when I went back to vista etc. I now use a set of goggles for traditional and a set for the FPV, Avata and when it comes….The 03 with duality antennas It is a pain just using 1 set though and has been since they released the Potato. Not ideal for everyone but saves messing about having to re-bind all the time. There is the fact that you still have to re-bind when switching between FPV and Avata though.
@@quadthingcopter5984 doesn't the air unit operate on both 2.4 and 5.8? Their spec on their site says it does. Hey Joshua! Do you know if it's possible to get the 03 unit to go into bind mode via goggles 2. Seems ridiculous to have to press the bind button every time I change quads while using dji controller 2.. love your work
I have Avata & Goggles 2 and fpv drone with O3 unit. After switch from one to another Im still have my drones and Goggles 2 binded, but I need to bind my Remote Controller 2 every time after switch to both sides. Is it correct? thanks for helping
I also had an issue with using a crossfire receiver, after inputting the code in betaflight cli to be able to use the osd, my crossfire nano receiver was not recogniseed by my quad, the stick and switch inputs did not move on the receiver tab, no matter which uart I used, tried a different receiver, same thing, then I switched the receiver in TBS agent to sbus then it decided to work.
Hi Joshua, Thank you for all the helpful information you get to make our life easier. I truly appreciate it. I was able to get everything to bind from old air unit to caddax to the new air unit. What I can’t seem to make work is the fpv controller v2 with a caddax system already updated. I get it to bind with both goggles and controller but I don’t see the controller in Betaflight. I do have some controller setting in goggles but it’s mostly only the mode function everything else seems greyed out. If theirs any configurations settings I need to know about. I did check the uart and it’s serial tx is set to 2 hoping that it’s a regular sbus config. Thank you in advance. 🙏🙏
So if i have a dji fpv, avata, gogglesv2 and goggles2, and and dji fpv controller...lol all working at this time, will I need to update the quads and contoller aswell? Thanks for all the vids!
@JoshuaBardwell I follow the instructions, but as soon as I tried the airunit, there was a "country code not update" message on the screen. I tried to update the goggles and airunit but with no avail. Same issue. I even tried to connect the goggle on DJI fly app but still the same error message. Can you please help me sort out the issue? No youtube video on how to fix that "country code not update" issue Thanks
Brilliant video as always. A bit off topic but do you know if you can set up a switch on the remote (TX12) to start and stop recording like the DJI remote would? Taking your hands off the sticks to do it in the Goggles is not recommend!!
A big topic that has popped up is the Ham_cfg_support compatibility. We are hearing that more channels are available, but power levels are lower than the avata..? Is this an oversight?!
Nice Video. Every time we have to rebind either the vista or the O3 unit. Every time I switch from my cinewhoop to the Xl5 frame with the O3.If i get 2 O3 air units will have to rebind every time?
Thank you so much for your channel! I am still having a problem. Using the assistant consumer software the o3 updates just fine. When I go to use the assistant FPV version my v2 goggles shows up but says I have the current firmware but it is from 2019 and I cannot find out how to upgrade to the latest that will support connection to the 03 air unit. What am I doing wrong ?
I was wrong. I am on the current FW for my v2 goggles that was published in 2022 but I do not have the option to "Switch to FPV" When I go into "Device" in the Goggles V2 settings menu/ There are no available options other than reset to factory defaults. What am I missing?
huh interesting.I have 0.6.07 rooted in my diy mode from before with vistas, I just switched to Dji FPV mode and used the consumer drones assistant to flash that firmware to the 01.04.0000 with the goggles and never went into fpv series assistant. I was told that if you flash any higher than that you can lose your wtfos. So might need to select which firmware as newer ones are out now. Worked beautifully. Kinda confused becuase you used fpv for goggles and then checked consumer for 06.07 i wonder if it really matters which one you use as long as your in the right mode on the goggles.
Good afternoon Joshua, I am new to fpv, I fly radio controlled planes, we have purchased dji goggles 2, and the 03 air unit we have followed your video and still cannot get the 03 air unit to bind up to the goggles 2, we must be doing something wrong! Hi could you please tell me if the DJI 03 air unit is compatible with the Sparrow 2 FC for the OSD.. i have the cadex vista on it at the moment and its great but would like to upgrade or is it not worth it .
Since Goggles 2 can link with the DJI Fly app, can't the firmware just be updated from there? 🤔 That's what I've been doing before the O3 Air Unit came out
does default osd for goggles v2 have battery charge of the drone natively? , does it depend on air unit version or does it just not have it unless you set up the betaflight osd with wtfos rooting?
Hi Joshua, first of all thank you very much for making my last 7 years easier🙂 i have tested everything with my V2 goggles but everytime i switch the from O3 to air unit/vista mode i have to rebind. I have one of those Nazgul Evoque V2's with the 03 unit coming. I decided to get an extra pair of V2 goggles so I don't have to infect my other goggles and Vista units with DJI's latest firmware.
03:00 Cool strap, what is it? And what is that red cord for?
#FPVarmy ❤
Did I miss you mentioning or is it fixed about losing all Vista and original Air Unit binds each time you switch to O3 Air Unit and back to Vista/orig Air Unit?
It's not fixed.
Just have to get through this process and my setup will be great! Thanks
Thanks JB,had to put my glasses on to find the hole👊
This is going to be fun in the FB groups. When I bought the FPV drone, I got sick of constantly having to re-bind when I went back to vista etc. I now use a set of goggles for traditional and a set for the FPV, Avata and when it comes….The 03 with duality antennas It is a pain just using 1 set though and has been since they released the Potato. Not ideal for everyone but saves messing about having to re-bind all the time. There is the fact that you still have to re-bind when switching between FPV and Avata though.
The dule antenna is not a problem Corey, I recon you could use two lhcp ulfl antennas if you wanted
@@quadthingcopter5984 doesn't the air unit operate on both 2.4 and 5.8? Their spec on their site says it does. That means their dual antenna contains both a 5.8 element and a 2.4ghz element (I'd love to see what the design looks like for 2.4 in that format). 2x 5.8 antennas shouldn't give proper performance...
This is the trouble I’m having. Everytime I swap between the o3 and the vista I have to bind them again. It’s a pain in the ass even though the light on the vista is green indicating that it’s already bound!
Very helpful. About to tackle this on my friends laptop as I’m a Mac numpty 🙄.
cant wait to grab the goggles lite when they release
I wonder how much they would cost
tell me, why can there be a range of no more than 3-3.4 km?
I have patches on my glasses, an elongated antenna on the throne, one antenna, not two. The FCC hack is enabled. Should the channel be automatic, or manual?
Hi JB, Can I update V2 to V01.06.0000? Can't cause a problem?
Can we also bind it to the DJI mode 2 controller the black one you can put ago1 gimbals in?
Not at this time. Maybe not ever.
@@JoshuaBardwell dang that blows
Thank you very much Joshua!! I really appreciate it.. I make a few mistakes but managed to recover, as you say it is not as straight as with the last edition of equipment...
A.hHa! update Goggles V2 after changing then back to DJI FPV device. You are correct It doesn't work if they are in Digital FPV Mode.
Thank you so much for clearing this up!
I have all 4 devices, and now my Goggles V2 work with them all. Woo Hoo!
Great useful stuff! But I have a problem. My V2 Goggles are stuck in HD Air Unit mode with no option on the Settings/Device menus to switch back and forth between modes. I can still fly all of my digital quads, but I can’t get to FPV mode to update the firmware so I can bind to my brand new 03 air unit. Got a fix or any ideas. Much appreciated.
Thank you for your videos , it helped so much last nite binding V2 to 03 unit
The DJI fly app updated my FPV googles v2, well it said it was updating them when I first got the DJI FPv combo a couple of days ago.
I am NOT seeing the “switch to DJI FPV” or any of the “switch” option under settings > device in my V2 Goggles… does anyone know why or how to make it appear? I’m currently on 01.00.0608. It’s the only firmware that pops up and I’ve tried refreshing…
Nope same issue
Did you fix it?
same issu, and I am on the 01.00.0600 version.
great video i would have found myself in this pickle if not watched this so thank. you my question is i dont fly betaflight i fly kiss/fettect should i still be intrested in the WTF rooting? or just proceed with your instructions here i basically fly with voltage/rssi only on my quads nit intrested in a over crowded OSD screen thank you
подскажите , почему может быть дальность не больше 3-3,4 км?
у меня на очках стоят патчи, на троне удлиненная антенна, одна антенна, не две. fcc хак включен. Канал должен быть автоматический, или ручной?
Found how to bind now so all good and thank u.
Hey Joshua! Do you know if it's possible to get the 03 unit to go into bind mode via goggles 2.
Seems ridiculous to have to press the bind button every time I change quads while using dji controller 2.. love your work
2:36 what kind of tape is that on the proximity sensor?
That's weird the new firmware for the goggles 2 you show is not what I can see. So I do not have the ability to connect to the old air unit
Great video again Joshua, so I can't take my avata and o3 air unit fpv in the feild and swap between the two, I have goggles 2 ?
Hi Joshua,
Thank you for all the helpful information you get to make our life easier.
So once you bind 03 you can't fly with an analog module unless you switch back to diy mode and reboot? I'd try it but i can't get it to bind yet...
Great video as always!
For some reason when I activate a new vista or update firmware on goggles or a vista I have to install fpv drone assistant every time
@JoshuaBardwell I follow the instructions, but as soon as I tried the airunit, there was a "country code not update" message on the screen.
Is this an oversight?!
getting my dji 2 goggles Tuesday and 2 dji03 air units too
Thanks Josh you’re a life saver
Thank you for saving me a headache before it got here
Nice Video. Every time we have to rebind either the vista or the O3 unit. Every time I switch from my cinewhoop to the Xl5 frame with the O3.If i get 2 O3 air units will have to rebind every time?
You have to re bind when you switch modes.
Is there a way to reach out to you directly to help us? Thank you Robert
Hi could you please tell me if the DJI 03 air unit is compatible with the Sparrow 2 FC for the OSD.. i have the cadex vista on it at the moment and its great but would like to upgrade or is it not worth it .
So once I up date do I have to go back to consumer mode??? I don't see the 03 air unit mode just fpv and Avata?
Since Goggles 2 can link with the DJI Fly app, can't the firmware just be updated from there? 🤔
That's what I've been doing before the O3 Air Unit came out
Maybe. I never used it personally.
does default osd for goggles v2 have battery charge of the drone natively? , does it depend on air unit version or does it just not have it unless you set up the betaflight osd with wtfos rooting?
Hi Joshua, first of all thank you very much for making my last 7 years easier🙂 i have tested everything with my V2 goggles but everytime i switch the from O3 to air unit/vista mode i have to rebind. It isn‘t to bad for most of my drones but bad for drones like my hydrophobe. Is there already a solution for this problem? A cheaper solution than buying 4 additional O3 😅
yes please there is something to solve this??
@@javiolartegutierrez7728 i don‘t know.
hey JB! I've been flying all day with no problems, but changed some rates and OSD settings in Betaflight. now when I power on my drone and goggles, it doesn't connect. I tried binding them again but nothing happens. please HELP!
