- If you’re asking why am I so sleepy after eating, or why am I so tired after lunch, there can be a variety of causes for feeling so sleepy. If you feel like you need a siesta, or an afternoon nap, or even if you simply get too tired after any meal, it’s time to look at your physiology. If you’re getting sleepy after eating, there is something going on with your digestion, or your body chemistry that needs to be corrected.

I get the most tired after eating lunch which is just meat and cheese. This is the first meal of the day for me.
Speaking of digestion, well... You were speaking and I was listening, can you look into a factoid I'd like some confirmation about.
Eating just before bedtime is a hormone (insulin, leptin, melatonin, and more?) disruptor if consuming carbohydrates in that meal, if you only eat meat&fat like a lion then sleeping afterwards is fine and perhaps even a positive way to promote focused digestion.

I'm on keto OMAD. Very limited carbs. I have this "food coma" nevertheless. My aftermeal blood sugar is 80-90. And I still have this damn food coma, in spite of all bullshit about "high insulin" and other meaningless gibberish from doctors.
Stop eating fiber.

Not only sleepy, but my entire body & muscles will be aching so bad, and my heart will be pounding for 2hrs afterwards 😢
Yeah, we hear stories like this a lot. There are normally fixable issues causing it.
@@KickItNaturally why does the heart pound so much after eating? I get this, especially in the morning. I've found when I take celery juice in the morning it helps with this but if I stop, it eventually comes back (along with other gerd symptoms.)

@@zeehuss7275 Thank you! I didn't know that. I actually have found that I do have low iron. My ferritin is at 35. So maybe that could be it. 🤔

People often feel this way because they are taking steps that have helped other people and then they see no results. It's more about taking the steps that are right for you, and you need to look at your body chemistry to be able to figure out what those steps would be.
So gallbladder issues can do this basically cause i was never like this until i did a prolonged fast. Now I'm almost knocked out after eating heavy anything than I'll get energy after awhile..

In my case, I'm not sleepy. Rather, my body has no energy. Almost like an extreme lazy feeling. Heavy leg feeling. Even standing up straight feels like a mission. When lying down for an hour, I'm usually better.
I'm lean, healthy with great blood markers. High fat loiw protein low carb diet.
It comes and goes. Not every meal is an issue. Mostly protein yes. I do small meals

Thanks. When energy production is that low, there are usually malfunctions or imbalances creating that. And for some of those issues, keto can make them much worse. Keto can also improve some issues, but it's more about learning to work with your body chemistry instead of just doing keto because it worked for someone else. Have you had a blood test? Particularly your Iron levels
@handlethis81 thanks for asking. Donate blood often and iron always perfect. Also lipids, A1c, fasting insulin and thyroid perfect. Free testosterone is normal but bottom 10%.
What's weird I only have this problem roughly Nov to March. Inbetween I'm fine.
@contrarian717 The next couple of things I would look into are your c02 stats and your heart.
A simple c02 monitor can be purchased from eBay or similar, but your heart will need to be done with doctors and specialists

這是一個 Poor digestion 的惡行循環:Not enough HCL -> Need minerals to make HCL -> Can’t break down food.
還可能延伸「消化酶不足」的問題。
4. 消化功能不良
身體為了用力消化,過度進入 Parasympathetic state,導致疲累。
- 交感神經系統(Sympathetic): Fight or flight
- 副交感神經系統(Parasympathetic): Rest and digest
5. 你對某些食物敏感
你的身體無法分解某些食物(這邊舉例 peanut butter sandwich),故身體視其為入侵者而進入戰鬥狀態,為了將食物擊敗。這會用掉你大量精力,導致接下來的一天只剩下很少的精力。

I practice a sugar free diet, eat limited carbs, 0 processed foods and don’t drink, do drugs or smoke. Yet I still get sleepy after I eat in fact I get sleepy before I eat, sleepy if I sit on the toilet for too long, hell, I get sleepy if I take a break for 10 minute from working.
I get up at 5 am and start working when the sun come up and work like hell all day until the sun goes down. I sleep 7 hours every night and fall asleep minutes after my head hits the pillow. I’ve been doing this for years, I’m 68 years old and can work any 20 year old into the ground, oh yeah I forgot to mention I’m a vegetarian.
Sounds like your body doesn't have much energy left due to a lot of exercise which is a good thing.
I'd increase protein intake and take a methyl (active) B complex supplement since you're a vegetarian and that active.
What about lactic acidosis instead of too alkaline?

I do have Gateroperosis, & accute constipation. I eat only one small meal a day, generally after lunch I get into food coma & feel exhausted.

I don’t know how anyone can eat a high carbohydrate diet. I have one cheat meal and I feel like 10 pounds of 💩 in a 5 pound bag for 2 days. Carnivore diet is great. Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels.
Because vegetables taste awful (in Australia anyway).
Unfortunately, I'm a super taster, and most vegetables here have a bitter taste

Eating an avocado with only sea salt on it. I took my BS 45 minutes later and it was 70.
