2:06 What causes drowsiness after eating?
9:18 What to do if you feel sleepy after lunch
    10:12 Learn more about sleep!
Let’s talk about why you feel sleepy after eating. If you consume a high-carb diet or even a high-protein diet with a lot of carbs, you elevate blood sugar and insulin levels. This leads to insulin resistance.
When you have insulin resistance, your cells resist insulin and fuel. This means that when you eat, the fuel isn’t going into the cells, causing the cells to lack energy.
Other causes of fatigue after eating include:
    • Overeating
    • Low hydrochloric acid
    • Lack of sleep
    • Snacking
    • Reactivated virus
What to do for afternoon sleepiness:
    1. Run your body on ketones (get on the keto diet and do intermittent fasting)
    2. Fix your sleep
    3. Delay drinking your coffee in the morning by 90 to 120 minutes after waking up
    4. Take apple cider vinegar or betaine hydrochloride right before you eat

I have a Protein shake in the morning and sometimes a banana and then don't eat agin until work is done for the day, I am showered and relaxed. Obviously there are times that I eat more than once during the day, but those times are almost always because of a social obligation. I cut out refined sugar and processed foods and rice, added daily exercise and have got involved in a community effort to fix up and beautify some buildings in my area and the results have been fantastic. In the last 3-4 months I've gone from 107 kilo (236 pounds) down to 95 kilo (209 pounds) at 6' 3" and 54 y/o. Nothing but good things have resulted. Good stuff!

9:22 -- I was intermittent fasting from Feb 2022 to June 2022 and loved it! Woke up around 8am, fasted until 5pm, then ate whatever I wanted from 5pm to midnight (usually not much as my appetite shrank considerably). I was a 35 y.o. male, 6'3". Waist shrank from 44" to 40", maybe even 39". Bizzarely though my weight went from 275 to 300. Didn't exercise at all but was objectively slimmer and more toned.
Only downsides: 1) CRUSHING tiredness following my evening meal, 2) and a subconscious and uncontrollable desire to wake up earlier and earlier every morning, even if I went to bed very late.
My chronic late night heartburn went away along with my day-long drowsiness. Very interesting experience fasting, and I've just started again. Fell off the fasting wagon Summer 2022 and the fatty waistline came right back, sadly.

You stated you ate whatever you wanted. The "what" is just as important as IF imho. If you are eating a lot of net carbs, that could be an issue. Not sure what time you go to bed but eating until midnight could be a problem. You are eating at a time your body's natural circadian rhythm is trying to prepare you for sleep. My research indicates that you want to finish you last meal 3 hours or more before bedtime. Your tiredness may be a combination of natural sleep cycle, the digestion process, and what you are eating. I am sure Dr. Berg has videos on all this.

Oh yeah, that happened to me before I was diagnosed diabetic. I had it bad after eating at midday. When I beat diabetes by fasting and eating keto that went away.
Also, this is why you shouldn't plan an important meeting, speech or other work activity after lunch-because so many people will be falling asleep on you.

have to snore like this after lunch. According to the study, it should be 20 minutes at most, but I get used to it within an hour. It's absolutely great and as long as it's possible, I won't give it up. It is already very difficult for me to be awake for 12 hours straight. Pray exercise eat and sleep. The older I get, the more I enjoy it. When I snore, I get the best rest. If I wasn't ashamed and met with understanding, I would have bought another pacifier. As lunchtime approaches, I eat quickly and my body is already screaming for snoring and sleep. So if you have the slightest chance to take a nap after lunch, go to bed to sleep and snore. Your body will reward you. You will wake up rested and full of energy, and your next performance will be better and more efficient.
