I felt like absolute shit for the first 3 weeks but I expected it because I went right from the SAD to full carnivore. I know my gut biome was really screwed up at that point, but by 21 days I was feeling good and by day 70 I was feeling the best I'd ever felt as an adult. I'm now down 100lbs in 7 months.

I felt like I'd throw up if I ate it anymore

@@thedoomslayer5863 TBH I was just scared of dying if I didn't make a change. I had Bells Palsy in January and was starting down that path to series of diseases that comes from metabolic disease and insulin resistance and didn't want to leave my girls without a dad before my time. I hate it but fear is an excellent motivator at times. I tell people now just getting rid of the sugar and processed foods will change life for the better regardless of whether you eat (low carb) veggies or not for 95% of us. I always loved meat so it was a good fit that way. I could care less about the veggies most of the time.

@@SRFITSTUDIOThis is too much water! You should drink a small glass of water every two hours and not a lot of water three times a day.

    • @Connor-zz8zf
      @Connor-zz8zf 6 месяцев назад +6

@@SRFITSTUDIOSo you have been on carnivore for only a week? You also don't have to drink as much water as he says. I'm sure anthony is quite active as a person so he may need more water but also more electrolytes. Drinking 2gallons per day I would say is very excessive for the average person and will most likely lead to an electrolyte imbalance (which is deadly btw).
Your yellow stools is also a sign your body is still adapting as your body isn't producing enough bile to digest your fats so you are just shitting it out instead basically. Which explains your low energy because you need the fats or energy. You have been on it for a week and I'm guessing your diet was high in sugar etc beforehand. BUT when you say your liver is giving you issues do you mean actual pain or discomfort? The liver is an organ and a very important organ lol if you have pain there then you should be getting checked out ASAP although I do feel like you are exaggerating as alot of people seem to think when they have pain in their torso it's always organ related. If you had heart pain for example do you really think you would be sitting here saying my heart is also giving me trouble on this diet my heart is always bothering me... Your reaction would be WTF GET A FKIN AMBULANCE so why would you still be sitting there casually saying oh and my liver is hurting I probably have liver failure... I guess I just need to tweak my water intake and my liver will start working again???

I am on day 4 of full carnivore. I ate pretty well before changing (mostly good proteins and fats, but too many carbs and sugars as well) - during COVID, I struggled a lot with the isolation and mental health aspects of the lockdown - got off my regimen - still ate mostly good stuff, but put on weight by being less disciplined and more sedentary working from home. So now for 2023, I am trying to kickstart a bit back to good health. I am trying to go strict carnivore for at least 30 days and then see how I feel - I do see myself adding more Keto type foods at some point if I make good progress.
As of Day 4, I have noticed 3 main things: 1) Less abdominal bloating 2) dramatically reduced brain fog 3) Feeling like my blood sugar is super low (not in a good way - a bit light headed during physical activity). Hoping my body adjusts to the change and normalizes as the dietary part is not too tough for me (I love meat, eggs and "oily" type fish/shellfish anyway).

Sometimes adding electrolytes helps too. If you are switching from a standard, high carb diet, then your body sheds a lot of water and electrolytes initially which can make you feel lethargic or even have cramps. Adding electrolytes to your water can help that transition.

One thing that people don't grasp is that there is a dynamic interplay between intake of low-carb diet, animal foods, water, deuterium, electrolytes, and taurine. Nutritionist Mary Ruddick observed the Hadza drink very little water, even when it was hot and they were highly active. Deuterium-depleted water might play a large role, as high levels of deuterium require more water to eliminate it. Also, taurine will balance mineral levels, getting rid of excesses and maintaining what is needed.

I'm really sorry to hear that, that certainly isn't typical. What exactly are you eating? If there's anything besides fatty meat and water I would get rid of it, including coffee artificial sweeteners etc. And then with any autoimmune issue like AS I would be very strict with even other meats besides red meat. Hi fat red meat and water exclusively is going to be your best bet for dealing with an autoimmune condition like that. Good luck with it!

I’ve been carnivore since the first of the year, and it’s honestly, been changing my life! Super clean eating for the last year and a half since a genetic mutation diagnosis and trying to have babies (no sugar, no wheat, no dairy, no caffeine, no alcohol), but my body still wasn’t losing weight, but since starting Jan 1st, I’ve gone from 252 down to 238 in 12 days! I haven’t experienced much detox symptoms, my body is loving this, which is awesome.
My question is, though, I do count macros just to make sure I’m eating enough because that felt like an issue the first few days, and my fat ratios are between 70 and 75% fat per day, but my BM’s are every 3 days and difficult to pass. Do I need even more fat than this? It feels almost hard to consume more at this point, or is it just my body still adapting? 😅

When I first started I was very tired. I train 6 days a week at Muay Thai.z Muay Thai is very intense and I sweat a lot, so much sweat. I can even double up classes in one day. I definitely make sure I am hydrated. My point is that when I started I would always be tired and have no energy. I thought maybe we need carbs as I’d have some fruit toast and feel like a weapon again. After some weeks that fatigue went away.
Granted I do a very intense sport nearly everyday so either way I’m going to be tired. But I do feel that at the start there was some adjustment by my body.

Are you getting enough fat? So many people make the mistake of thinking keto means protein. You should literally be eating like 50 percent fat. I use about an entire tablespoon of butter on my already very fatty cuts of meat and when I've finished cooking I will pour the oil onto the food on my plate and use the butter oil as a sauce (i also dip my meat in a tiny bit of mayo). Keto and carnivore are very different. With carnivore you really do have to prioritize eating fat more than protein. If you don't want to try what I do. When you have finished cooking try cutting about 1cm thick and the whole block wide slab of butter and just melting it on top of your meat. Lack of energy 2months on says you are doing something wrong. Also like he said in the video don't eat first thing. I've never been a morning eater and for 6hours upon waking I don't eat and I blitzkreig through everything I do. I am literally called the machine at work😂😂
Oh and if you sre using butter make sure it is actually butter and not rapeseed oil or other seed oil toxic crap

I had more energy than I’ve ever had in my whole life and that’s the truth. This carnivore diet seems to be a real drag for me so far but I promised myself I would commit to 30 days so I’ll stick with it for at least 30-42 days. So far I’m losing weight, which was my goal, but my energy is in the basement. Also, on the other diet I felt so much lighter within the first week than I do eating such heavy meat every day. I had crapms for 20 years. They finally stopped after 20 or so years when I got Benevolent Nourishment triple mag and instead of the one in the bottle for a month I took 2 before bed. Now I cut down to 1 to save money and because I felt i finally quit loosing all the water I was when i was diabetic. As soon as I notice I did not go pee at nite more than 1 time I realized that i could cut down to one. I can finally sleep and not wake up in excruciating pain that left me "bruised" for over a week. I hope this helps. With some of us, water and salt is not enough.

As far as water, it's interesting that you say drink a lot of water. Dr. Berry thinks that most people drink too much water. He says to just drink when you're thirsty. Says you can throw off your electrolytes if you drink too much. 🤔

How many litres is ‘2 gallons’ for you, Anthony? With you being American (7 litres) but living in Australia (9 litres) it’s quite a difference 😂 What quantity do you have per hour or do you just sip all the time? Also, how much time do you leave water drinking before and after eating? Thanks

I can sleep until four in the afternoon, get up and eat, and then go back to bed and sleep through until 4pm the next day. i went on carnivore about three weeks ago and i felt kind of down this week so i came here. regarding the fat i don't know how i should increase it because it kinda just drips off and i can't just drink it raw that's just not tasty at all. what i do is i eat my meat with scrambled eggs because those can absorb a lot of fat and that satiates pretty good. i'm not sure if it's enough though. i was on full keto for about two years before so my body's definitely used to high fat.
with the water i think it's weird. i always drank when my body told me to drink which was way less than what everyone tells you to. i definitely drink way more now but it's still what my body tells me because that would make sense to me. why would i just have to trust my body regarding eating but not drinking?

    Dr Chaffee ,
I started the carnivore diet 10 days ago. Eating eggs, red meat and seafood.
I woke up yesterday with bad heavy puffy bags under my eyes which I’ve never had. According to Dr berg, this can be due to eating too much cooked protein which is all I have eaten.
I added some avocado for potassium to try and help.
Have you got any advice. I have felt really average since I started.

Eating a large meal at the end of the day goes against the recommendations of 5000-6000 years of direct observation (TCM and Ayurveda). I eat break-fast at 8 and the second meal at 1pm. The digestive fire is highest from 11am-1pm. Eating at night does not allow the digestive organs to rest. I finish at 2-3pm and then fast until 8 the next morning.
