I have been on carnivore for 1 week. Lost 19.5 lbs the first week.
I type 2 diabetic and test my blood 6 to 10 times a day now. So far, no insulin during the day and at night 4 units down from 15.
I use a 4-wheel walker and today for the first time in a year climbed steps on alternating legs and climbed to the top.
I had been climbing to 2 steps from the top, then crawled down the hall to get to an ottoman then rolled onto it to a sitting position and pry myself up to a stand.
EDIT: Started at 397 lbs at 6'7" age 74.

I have been cleaning our bedroom non-stop a day. 😂😂Hubby told me slow down, I told him to grab a trash bag, take it and get lost😂, Ihave things to do. These things have all gone, I’m as fit as I was 20 years ago, I also am able to do shed loads of physical. I cannot believe how little I need to eat in a day, I go to the toilet just once a day instead of 3 x! I don’t sweat and I don’t have body odour. I do not snore anymore and I sleep like a dormouse. My muscle has gone up 4 POUNDS with no exercise!! And my body fat has gone down 4 lbs, and my metabolism has gone up almost 100 calories a day at rest!!! If I had not had this scale, if be in a total panic because I haven't lost any weight. I'm so thrilled! Putting on that much muscle in 2 months is a lot!

      @user-sy7ck3ln6o 24 дня назад +1

Everyone should try not to focus so much on the "weight scale" per se, but more on what your waistline is telling you. Yes, you Initially/ultimately need to know what your weight is.. so you can roughly set a daily caloric intake..You want to insure that you're getting enough quality cals in and not undereating..but more important is that your MACRO's are in check.. There is a little experimenting initially, but it does become fairly intuitive.

    • @sophiam9886

@@lauraeking You're not eating enough. Try adding another meal in every day. Most women wind up doing OMAD automatically when we first start carnivore because we simply aren't hungry. But that's not enough protein and the body will start to eat itself away, including the muscle. Don't worry about calories or earing too much because it's all zero carb anyway if it's carnivore food. Many women find that they actually gain muscle and lose weight by upping their food intake. Don't worry, your body will use the extra protein as nutrition. It will only help, not harm you. As women, many of us, myself included have to break ourselves out of the bad habit of undereating.

Today, I thought about how much I wanted to work out all day because I didn’t sprint in the morning. This marks feelings I have never had. It feels wonderful. I’m doing as others are and I’m not feeling any different YET, I still have brain fog, but I’m also tapering off of Cymbalta after 20 years taking 90mg. I’m down to 40mg. So many factors here. I will continue on carnivore and hope for the best…

I think people saying "I've been carnivore for such and such amount of time why am I not getting better?" Is being too vague. We have no idea what they are actually eating. Are they eating enough fat, or are they eating lean chicken breast all the time and think they are "carnivore". Are they avoiding PUFA's, are they cheating and how often? If you eat nothing but GRASS FED ground beef and ribeye's and maybe some eggs and cooking with tallow, you'll start feeling amazing within a month. However if you're eating chicken, lunch meat, can tuna, farm raised fish and the cheapest corn fed animals you can buy and think you're a carnivore, you are wrong. Yes you are eating meat but you will not see the same results as my previous example eating grass fed meat. Lets be honest most of the people trying this "diet" aren't being honest with themselves. They are still drinking coffee, maybe even alcohol, cheating with some sweets and wonder why they aren't seeing the results they are hoping for.

How many years did you eat a crappy diet? While I gave up sugar thirteen years ago, still ate a lot of processed food for 61 years of my life. Seed oils take five to six years to clear out of your body. Dairy does contain lactose (a sugar). I not only have an allergy to milk but wearing a continuous glucose monitor, I see it spikes my glucose. After 9 months of carnivore, I am 132 pounds, BMI is 21, pain free, and most of my autoimmune symptoms are gone. Some things I have learned is that when Dr. Chaffee says to stick with only meat and salt water, he is absolutely right. Coffee has been hard to give up and for a long time I continued having it and using stevia. The sweet taste made me crave carbs. I do use coconut cream and MCT oil to replace dairy fat. I have substituted mint tea for now to break my morning coffee addiction. It seems to be helping.

It took me about 2 and 1/2 months to really start feeling some energy. It coincided with taking lugel's iodine and I've never really known if it was the chicken or the egg. So to speak. I would recommend the iodine however if you're not taking it.

Over the years I gradually discovered that certain types of plant foods caused me to react in certain very specific ways. Gluten, grains, beans, nightshades... Eliminating these foods means I am already on a low carb diet. I do eat some non-starchy vegetables (included home-fermented ones), though some days I don't. I eat one meal a day. I think anyone who is already low carb will be able to skip the adaptation process that a person on the Standard American Diet would suffer through.

I tell people the first three weeks were BRUTAL, but I went from eating fruit, vegetables, and sugar every day to the lion diet. Even tho I felt like garbage, my anxiety was gone by day 5, so I kept going. That last week of my first month, it was like the light at the end of the tunnel. That's when my mind, body, and life started changing. *Also, I had to buy some of the Keto Chow electrolyte supplements bc I was having excruciating leg cramps. I used those drops for the first two months and haven't had leg cramps since.

I’m approaching 3 months on carnivore diet. Was disappointed with my weight loss not being more so thank Dr for letting me know weigh loss isn’t the goal. I’m 73 so my exercise is not that much. I also don’t sleep that well or for that long. I’ve always felt good so I don’t feel better in any noticeable way. Just waiting for my sex drive to return that would be fantastic! I’m going to see a dietician on the May 15th wondering if she is going to understand carnivore or if she is a food pyramid person. I’m going to stick with this for a while longer.

I started 12 weeks ago, losing 1kg per week with exercise. Just done a half marathon in 1h58m. 2 months ago, I can only finish 10k for more than 70min. As Anthony said, when fat is burned for energy, more water is released than burning glucose. I barely had water during my half marathon run.

Well, it helps to know I’m not the only one I was doing. It’s been doing keto for six months and now carnivore for two weeks. I think I’ve lost 3 pounds this whole time it is so stinking frustrating but I do feel better and I’m waiting for when I can be like the lady he talked about when it just all of a sudden goes, the thing is normally I would be gaining. I haven’t gained so I called that win.

Literally woke up w it one day. Have Hashimoto's since mid 30s, now 63. Cholecystectomy 19 yrs ago (caused by rapid weight loss).

I'm a week into my carnivore diet/experiment/curiosity crusade and I have to say it's been strange so far. I'm feeling haunted by the foods I used to eat - bread, jam, chocolate!! sweet potatoes(I could go on)and find myself wondering if one little morsel will compromise my results. I've not strayed and I don't intend to either. My bathroom habits have slowed to a virtual halt; nothing for two days and I'm wondering where all the steak, eggs, bacon and fish are being stored in my body as I've no noticeable bloating. Yesterday I felt incredibly lethargic and at one stage fell asleep sat up in the car( I wasn't driving ) My other half keeps tempting me with various meals and oh my days, the plates she and my daughter are tucking into look divine. I don't give in to the temptations but the listlessness I feel makes me a little dispirited. Better this morning. Probably would feel a lot better with a successful bathroom call! On the plus side I'm definitely sleeping better and some of my aches and pains appear to have lessened. Anyway, great video. Subscription assured to the channel. Happiness and health. x

@Dr Chaffe on carnivore for over 3 months eating fat mainly in the form of Ghee butter and tallow along with red meats and eggs. No change in benefits, more constipated than before, not going regularly. Only seen weight loss but no conditions resolved. Dealing with herniated disc, neck pain and gut issues. Finding it hard to keep up with the diet. Please assist. Thanks!

Need to have at least 1.5gm/kg of protein daily (some need 2gm/kg) and fat grams at least the same (or up to 1.8x) as your protein grams.
1gm protein is 4 calories, 1gm fat is 9 calories.
      Example:
      100gm protein = 400 calories.
      100gm fat = 900 calories.
That gives you a 70:30 ratio of fat to protein.
If you want to get to a 80:20 ratio, just increase the fat - in this example, 100gm protein (400 calories) plus 180gms fat (1620 calories) would give you the 80:20 ratio easily.
Most fresh meat and fish is about 25% protein by weight - so 400gms meat is 100gm protein = 400 protein calories.
Eggs are 7gms protein each - 28 protein calories.
Ghee and tallow are 100% fat of course, but butter is only 85% fat by weight.
If you eat enough fat, there’s no way you will be constipated.

It’s not a diet, it’s our natural way of feeding ourselves. Our natural state is to be in Ketosis fuelling on fat and protein. Occasional carbs if available seasonally.
