Can we all just take a minute to appreciate Woody's genuine "is something wrong?" @29:18. Don't forget fellas, its OK to ask if your mates are OK! Especially with the current state of the world. Thanks for the amazing content fellas, can't wait to see the numbers this beast pulls!
The fact you can wire a car straight up by yourself is so impressive. Very interesting to watch. And the finished product looks so freaking good. Way beyond professional. Looks oem! ❤❤
As always, excellent video!! I wish I had gotten into this side of automotive work. My days are filled with check engine lights and A/C work. I only see vehicles when they're broken. It gets monotonous after 30 years. But it pays the bills. You guys make it look like fun!
Nothing's better than relaxing, with a Lemon Squash to watch the best Married Couple on RUclips 😂😂. I must admit though Woody, loving the Tunes. Nothing like getting the Funk out❤❤
As a Canadian I was wondering why Al was so against air conditioning then I looked up the mean temperatures on the Sunshine Coast and they are between 15-25 degrees C which sounds absolutely perfect. Wonderful video and great work as always!!!
Besides the sweltering summer temps its also also a tropical rainforest kind of climate, so add constant high humidity to that.. Definitely mandatory aircon conditions.
Yeah Summer temps get more into high 30s low 40s with high humidity as others have mentioned. I feel like Al is more "it doesn't make the car faster so why do you need it?".
While I'll never understand the desire to own a hideous Japanese family wagon, it warms my heart to see you still need to use a turbo 400 and 9 inch diff when attempting to make it cool :)
I do have a lot of love for the battery under the seat but after learning how dangerous lithium is I would find a location outside of the cabin space. Google Victorian firefighters cobalt poisoning if you have any doubts.
That is such a good idea putting the charcoal canister up the back, I am actually going to do that to mine. Thanks for the tip dunno why it never occurred to me I could get it out of the engine bay lol.
@2:12 The power goal went from 800 to 600 back up to 900... all in ten seconds 😂😂 Edit: The extra-portable porta-power is also epic. (Defo a "why didn't I think of that" tool)
Wholesome, amazing content that always gives me a laugh. Thanks for the great content Al and Woody! 29:30 is exactly what my shop looks like when I dive into a wiring loom on a swap. Don't put it down...put it away...nah nah nah...I'll just use my brain and clean up later. ;)
This is awesome, I have two projects on the go at the moment. I would love some advice/could you do a video on how to plan/budget/prioritise completing a project. You give us so much inspiration but I am probably not alone I saying many of us still fall short of our goals. Cheers
This episode has more of a smokey feel to it than when Woody attempted to do a burnout in the first episode of the barra crown. How many packets of doritos were harmed in the filming of this episode?
aircon definitely something needed for a street car. I did my time of not having it and I'm so over it. Heck, not having aircon is unsafe here. If it rains, all the windows go all foggy and if you roll 'em down the car gets all soaked and the interior will need to go in the trash or just always smell like mildew.
Yes prizes are crazy the world over it seems. Cars included. Though I can't really complain with a GS 430 in the shed (be it that it's the only spendy luxury item that I own). Looking for a troopy (HJ75) here in the Netherlands recently and the prices are staggering. 15 to 20K Euro (25 - 33.5K AUS) will get you the worst rusted 3b boat anchor/ butchered examples..( In a Europe wide search). Anything JDM of interest (Skyline/Supra) 40K plus, anything LS powered 20K plus.. It just kills the hobby really, I have no need to turn into a investor just to be able to afford one.
Do you have any plans to make a cover/ shield for the surge tank and fuel pumps ? I worry about it being so close behind the rear tire. Debris and dirt are going to get thrown right at it.
all the pump's nothing beat over fueled then under, 1750cc injector on my 4 banger, and 3 fuel pumps. I dont even use 3rd pump , never needed, great swap on ecu switch out thou. my fuel nearly gets to hot on circulation
Hopefully woody insulated around the fridge, also cooling for that massive lithium battery wouldnt go amiss. Guess thats what the A/C is for? if no perhaps consider a fan to pull some air across the battery.
Its not your typical "phone blows up in your pocket" or "scooter that sets fire to your house while you sleep" lithium. Its a LiFePO4 battery. Different type of pixie dust. They are way safer, probably safer than a lead acid. More discharge cycles but less power density than your usual lithium.
Guys, what were the fuel pumps, in the old Triumph world the guys are having trouble sourcing fuel pumps with enough hutzpah to run the mechanical fuel injection. We used to source Bosche fuel pumps from VNs but they are getting harder to get. The mechanical system run @ 100-120 PSI with a pretty heavy flow. Those pumps in concert may be the ticket... Also the mounting system looked plenty tidy.. any help with the model and specs would be great
They are commonly known as a pierburg 800 but I would say you would be after a Bosch "044" which is a common mechanical injection pump. Having experienced that Lucas FI system I would be replacing the whole thing with EFI.
@@theskidfactory Yes I would too if I still owned one but for those dumb enough to persist, I''ll pass on that pump type to the international clubs. P.S. when set up a PI is a thing of joy to drive. used to run a 121x Cam by Ivan Tighe The cam was designed for a 202 red motor as a high speed cam, the PI could idle with that cam @ 700 rpm due to the lack of crossflow between cylinders. i think it was 25/75 with some ridiculous duration ... going on 30 yrs ago for my last engine build now
Proper compressor I believe in those units, huge fan of that, i got myself a proper compressor 12v fridge about a year ago to take camping with the family, and it's been to the racetrack more than it has camping, cold snacks are glorious at the track.
i have also used 9" diffs before but out of sheer curiosity, what sort of power would the standard diff take. i'm asking as i am looking at a JDM project myself and as i'm not looking to build a monster, might be able to use a diff from the same family to save space and weight. ideally a 2JZ in a 1978 R28 Celica.
The standard F series diff’s weakest link is the axles. A Toyota “G” series from a Hilux or similar is usually the go to upgrade but with how much the car weighs I didn’t want to risk of breaking shit so a 9” is the sensible option
21:30 Replacing a tail light in an NS/NX Pajero is genuinely annoying though, especially on the driver's side. Changing a bulb shouldn't require a screwdriver.

Quality stuff from two genuine good blokes being an example to us all. Speak up and look after your mates.
How is no one peaking about the "Mini Saxophone" in the credits :D You boys are out of control and I love it :D
I came to the comments expecting a heap more about that! Outta nowhere, superb content fellas 👌
You could add some custom veneer trim panels and make it a Woody.
This whole car is giving me a woody
Thats a brilliant idea!
Xzibit likes this. Yo dawg I heard you like Woody's, so I put a Woody in ya woody.
Woody driving a woody 😂
Except magnetic panels like businesses run on rentals so they can be thrown on for jokes but taken off when being serious.
That is probably the best external fuel pump mounting I've ever seen. Smart packaging and clever work boys. I'm excited to see your results.
Agree, it's so clean and compact. I bet all those AN lines, fittings, pumps and brackets cost a fortune. All worth it in the long run.
You know about the ford pinto right?
I don't know which to be more impressed by, the surge setup or that wiring loom. Beautiful bloody work.
Al, pleasure to meet you today, you're an absolute champion. Jack will be a lifelong fan!
The fact you can wire a car straight up by yourself is so impressive. Very interesting to watch. And the finished product looks so freaking good. Way beyond professional. Looks oem! ❤❤
You guys are great, I really appreciate the shout out for people having a hard financial times

That is pretty much the reason I got into this stuff. I needed creativity and normal machanical work didn’t have that aspect.
The opening never gets old - love it
I like the cost of living thoughtfulness. Top guys top channel.
Great ideas for surge tanks for a wagon while keeping it a wagon. Awesome.
Nothing's better than relaxing, with a Lemon Squash to watch the best Married Couple on RUclips 😂😂. I must admit though Woody, loving the Tunes. Nothing like getting the Funk out❤❤
Just got my Harrop big block hoodie! Glad to support the show.
Love the turn of the head when you’re welding, it’s safety squints to a whole new level 😂😂😂
Lookaway lenses.
@@TC-yx2ss perfect! 🤣
I predict a career in early morning tv commercials for Woody.😎
Best content on RUclips hands down. Always
As a Canadian I was wondering why Al was so against air conditioning then I looked up the mean temperatures on the Sunshine Coast and they are between 15-25 degrees C which sounds absolutely perfect.
Wonderful video and great work as always!!!
Have a look in the summer..
@@necrofeast yep...cannot wait for the 35 degree days...
maybe at the moment, but in summer it can hit 40 plus degrees

Yeah Summer temps get more into high 30s low 40s with high humidity as others have mentioned. I feel like Al is more "it doesn't make the car faster so why do you need it?".
Cool to see Al on his channel
Mates mum had one stock. Was n nz many years back. Never did the twisty roads so confident as this model did. Always like em. Thanx
A wagon with a fridge is a top idea. Very civilised. Hot lemon squashes have to be avoided at all costs.
Not only is it a crime against humanity, it's bloody Un Australian!!
While I'll never understand the desire to own a hideous Japanese family wagon, it warms my heart to see you still need to use a turbo 400 and 9 inch diff when attempting to make it cool :)
You could call Luke the “Noosa Roosta” :)
yes! I've had stupid fantasies about a dual battery system for a while, love to see it!
Watched this last night before bed and then dreamed that Al was teaching me how to locate and hunt hidden creatures burrowing beneath the sand
The windows open on Als computer made me laugh... 'do dogs smile' and 'how to clean dogs teeth'.....
woody make sure that lithium battery has plenty of cool air if it gets too hot there will be no wagon anymore
I do have a lot of love for the battery under the seat but after learning how dangerous lithium is I would find a location outside of the cabin space. Google Victorian firefighters cobalt poisoning if you have any doubts.

Yes. Wagon IS Epic!
impressive engine bay macrame from Al as usual 😊
Al has mastered wiring looms.
That 1VD impression was spot on 🤮

"Mini Saxophone" ay lads😂😂😂
Playin some tunes in the shed is mandatory 🤙🤙
Genious surge tank! Love the crown build!

Really nice guy to loan you his crimping machine. You have a great network of friends. You are truly blessed

Ultimate wagon - what a unit!
13:30 rocking the dad bod there woody
Minnie saxophone 🎷! I respect turbo yoda (AL) even more then I already did!
NEED A VIDEO JUST ON THE FRIDGE!
Legit had to rewind for the old-school Batman transition. Wicked.
Scratch city. Like the wagon progress.
The Fridge is an amazing idea
Al where we live it gets to 46c to 49c for months out of the year, AC is necessary , it keeps you alive out here. never underestimate its use
are you living out in the deserts!? o.O
I don’t know what the air con did to Al, but he’s never got over it.
Lookin' good guys !! Keep it up !
Someone needs to give Luke the news: If you work at Noosa Radiators you get a phalus related nickname. That's just the way it is. 😂
Love the content, fantastic music choice too! Keep up the good work guys!
You guys look like a couple of fellas I was talking to this morning. Uncanny.
I wish I could get you guys do rebuild my fg motor and tr6060 with all the good bits I always see on your videos ✌🏽
Hurry up, I want to see it burning rubber around the track. All the best boy's it will be a sick ride.
The Mobile Media Machine is coming along great guns!!

The woody factor
It’s not pornhub dude, or maybe it is for you and I shouldn’t be kink shaming…
Wait. Was Woody having a choof at the end there?!? 😂
Going to be killer!!

What’s wrong with the big red pie warmer under the bonnet?
I used to tie wire garlic bread, loaded with mozzarella cheese and salami on my exhaust manifold.!

Me was on the same page. Gonna look uggs with them road grimes undercoat!!
It’s all waterproof anyway but yes I’ll be making a shield to cover it
Barra needs a PD Blower!
Supercharging loses too much power compared to turbo
The DIN53 will be on the lighter side. Being it is in the back upgrade it to a LN2 AGM or step up to a DIN66 case size.
A "drink lemon squash responsibly" line of merch perhaps?
Thanks !
Are raceworks a new sponsor of the show? A lot of their products on show in this build. Love the tunes during the wiring process
They have been for a while
That thong slap😂😂
Awesome build👌
Woody wants to make his car last and Al just wants to send it to the moon 😂
one day i wanna try one of them there r3's
You need an R5. Rewire the entire car with one unit.
Most carbureted cars in the 80s had mechanical cam-driven fuel pumps unless they were "hi-po."
don't forget to add the phallus related "small white text" for the noosa radiator boys

Woody, I like the fridge. Is it a proper compressor or is it a Thermo Electric Cooler? I've had several TECs and they never seem to last very long.
Proper compressor I believe in those units, huge fan of that, i got myself a proper compressor 12v fridge about a year ago to take camping with the family, and it's been to the racetrack more than it has camping, cold snacks are glorious at the track.
Still rocking the Waeco CF50… only just replaced the thermocouple and just as cold from factory, been thinking of the newer dual battery setups.
do builds like this need to be engineered or certified at all in queensland?
Yes it will need a mod plate.
Is a single -8 feed big enough for usual barra HP numbers? Or do the pumps used have enough grunt to move enough volume? Good work cheers boys.
