If you can afford the car you should be able to afford disassembly, service to all components and replacements as needed, and finally reconstruction. I’m not surprised. I’m also very poor LOL
I could save you a bit of time and say “Because they made very few of them to a very high performance specification for a very select market” but that wouldn’t satisfy the anoraks who need to know the weight of oil, or what kind of thread the bespoke filter takes. Why was this made?

not true. those have to put up with a lot more pressure than your standard car's filters. they are aviation style filters, and they're designed for high pressure applications. your normal car wouldn't even be able to put anything through that media.
