As a Scot, it fills me with so much pride to see my country showcased, and you also get an A for effort on the pronunciations 😂
Thanks Toby for your kind words! I'd love to visit Loch ness and the Isle of Jura when i return! You live in a beautiful place!
That's very generous of you. I'm a Yank but it hurt to hear him mangle EVERY location name.
I lived in Glasgow for 6 months and I can truly state that Scotland is my dream country to live in.
So I'm happy people talk about it but also afraid that it becomes hype and let's be honest, it would ruin the feeling of freedom of this beautiful country :(

OK Ryan, your pronunciation is diabolical, but don't worry, probably 95% of Scots can't pronounce some of the Gaelic names of the places you describe, either. Nevertheless, you sound very sincere and I love your American accent. Your enthusiasm comes over really well. Thanks for all the compliments about my homeland. Haste ye back.
Thanks Duncan! I admit, my pronunciations were diabolical! lol But I love your country so much! You're from a special place!
Spot on Duncan, most Scottish people don't get much north of Stirling right, me included and I'm absolutely hopeless at anything outside of the UK. Loved the video Ryan and always happy to see people come from anywhere around the world and enjoy the country.
What a beautiful video Ryan, much better than the 'Visit Scotland' adverts and I fully agree with Duncan. You've probably visited more places in Scotland than many Scots including myself and why anyone on here is taking offence at your pronunciations is beyond me you are after all not Scottish and you have a beautiful accent of your own, where are you from is it the USA or Canada? As my fellow Scot said 'Haste ye back' and if you ever need a place to rest your head and have a nice meal you are welcome to spend some time with my family and I here in Stirlngshire 👍 My Grandson's name is Ryan also and it's supposed to mean 'Little King' 🦹♀️💗
Hi Duncan Greenoak?
I was rolling around on the ground after some of those pronunciations🤣 good try though
Isla Walker ae. ‘Glen Feenan’ 🤣🤣😂
0:35 Edinbro
He said Edinburgh the 1st time then decided to say Edinbro the other 50
Holy Rod Park 😂
Glasgow and loch lomond were belters, i've heard english people using that dodgy pronunciation for lomond aswell
I've been in love with Scotland for years, but I recently went to the Highlands for the first time and it was even better than I had in my mind.
Wow I’m jealous you live there! What part of the highlands did you visit?
One of the finest place you will ever find. I was in Dundee University for 2 yrs, till today I still missed every bit of it, the people are so polite and their accent is the best part difficult to hear yet so unique.
The funniest part is till today when I'm hungry at night I often visit Scotland especially Lddle, Tesco etc so whenever I want to go to Scotland in my dreams I go to bed empty stomach.

I love Scotland...the landscape, mountains, castles, lochs and people

Don’t worry Kim, I will
I'm from Sudan and my ultimate dream is to live in Scotland, everything about it from its building to its people is just fascinating to me , the only thing I'm afraid of is not the weather and not coping with the Scots very well, but other than that I think it's absolutely lovely!
Bit late for a reply but as a Scot myself I can say that we are really friendly. I’ve got some friends from abroad and they all say that Scottish people are some of the nicest they have met. As for the weather, well you’ll get used to it soon enough lol
@@parker1972 as someone who studied at Edinburgh, I second this, Scottish people are the most friendly people I’ve met in the UK

I visited Scotland in 2012. It’s was an amazing trip. Eight days driving by the left along the Highlands and the Isle of Skye. Unforgettable. I’ve never seen landscapes like that and I’ve never been bitten by midges like there in all my life. 😃
I grew up in the Highlands! I urge you to visit Loch Ness! Also visit the outer Hebrides. If you want peace and seclusion, go to the Isle of Jura, it's inhabited by 150 people and 3000 deer! It's got beautiful mountains and a famous whisky distillery!
Fully agree, Toby! However, Isle of Jura distillery is unfortunately owned by Whyte & Mackay, the biggest user of caramel colourant...
How he said scotland tho 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂
Saving your comment. 👍🏻
The cairngorm mountains

Damn, I didn't know Scotland was this rough. It really reminds me of my trip to Iceland. The vast empty landscapes and giant mountains really looks like the Icelandic landscapes. Love it!
It totally has a rigged iceland vibe especially in the highlands
Im from Portugal and I just love Scotland so much... (I love the scottish accent too)

It's so nice to see a travel blog that doesn't just focus on Edinburgh Castle. Beautiful work!
Thank you for making this, so pretty! I've been a bit glum about social distancing but as a scot I'm lucky to have so much beautiful nature around 🌍🌿🏴

I visited Scotland a couple of years ago and even though I didn't see half of the places mentioned in this video, I fell in love with this country. This video has confirmed my love and now I am sure that I'll go back to Scotland one day!
Can't wait for you to go back! There's so many magical places to explore
Love your adventures. When my husband and I went to Scotland for the first time. We met one of the local pipers on the Mile and bought drinks for him and his girlfriend. When they found out it was our 40th anniversary we all hiked up to Arthur's Seat and the piper played a tune for us as we sat on one of the boulders looking out over Edinburgh at sunset.. I have a photo of the piper playing. He is a silhouette with the backdrop of Edinburgh. It was absolutely the highlight of our travels.
I'm going to Scotland. This looks amazing.
Everyone welcome here aslong as ye like a Gid swally

I like to thank you for making this video. It makes my future planning to Scotland much easier.
Aye!! I’m so glad I could help :)
I love your footage, and love your appreciation of our beautiful wee country. I feel a bit bad for all the negative comments though - yes some of the pronunciations were a bit off but I reckon if all these people complaining were to visit your country they will pronounce plenty of things incorrectly. Hell, some Scottish people even pronounce places in Scotland incorrectly! 😂
But then again, most of it is just good natured banter so I wouldn’t take it to heart. We really are a friendly bunch ☺️
Your video is amazing and makes me proud to be Scottish.
There is still so much to see and do so I hope you come back and make more amazing videos ☺️
I particularly recommend the outer Hebrides, like Harris and Lewis and all the surrounding islands in the outer Hebrides. Another favourite place of mine are the silver sands of Morar, situated between Arisaig and Mallaig on the north west coast.
Haste ye back! 😊
the amount of indignation and panty twists about the pronunciation depleted all good will about visiting scotland this vid produced lol

As much as some pronunciations aren't perfect (that's an easy fix!), I'm glad Scotland is getting the recognition it deserves. Also, just a FYI on thinking Scotland was flat before visiting, it's called the Highlands as the terrain is much more mountainous that the South of Scotland - which is also referred to as the Lowlands. Even with that differentiation I wouldn't say much of Scotland is flat aha :)

Ridiculous comment the island would be in poverty without tourists. By your name I take it your English
@@keithrobertson7611 Half Scottish. Most B&Bs are owned by English settlers, all big hotels are owned 'off the island', most staff by far, are seasonal from the south. There are hundreds of incomers fleeing their apparently horrible native conditions to spend their lives on social security here, dozens in Portree are English mentally-ill imports - none of whom will ever work nor play any part in the 'community'. This is/was a healthy agricultural & fishing area that historically flourished only too well without tourism. Your own surname sounds Scottish, but you know nothing of the Highlands, then or now.
